This was a welcome level of comfort after backpacking across Spain. There is nothing in walking distance, but I was ok with that. :) The staff was very friendly and helpful.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay.

A few things that could be better:

1. We had to ask for our complimentary wine. Which was still not provided until we asked the second time. This is very embarrassing. It’s not about the wine, it’s about the principle.

2. The sink was clogged. We requested maintenance to have a look. Not sure if they did the first time. But we had to request again the second time which was then sorted.

3. The AC in our room was not working!

4. Minor issue but complimentary drinking water was only provided on day one. All other hotels always provide a bottle a day.

5. I had a charge on my final bill of Resort Fees. I have no idea what this is and it was charged multiple days. If I hadn’t checked my bill which I don’t usually do, I’d have paid for a service I have not used. One would not expect such mistakes from a 5 star hotel.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and Bruno was very kind and helpful.

Loved the hotel and the fact that you could use the amenities at the boutique hotel too. The service was absolutely excellent really really good and overall we just loved it and hope to come back again at some point in the future. The only 2 things I would say that could be improved are lights on the balconies (we noticed there were lights on the Boutique hotel balconies) this would’ve been good to just read on the balcony in the late evening and also some kind of in hotel supermarket would have been handy. Both very very minor points as we (2 adults and 2 children had a great time!)

The resort is nice. The rooms are nice. I found that the service and management is very confused. There were a lot of times where I had to wait for a long time for a simple drink. called the front desk to ask a question. The lady that answered-not polite I would probably classify as more of a two star hotel by the service.

I would highly recommend this resort and the staff was very helpful. The view of the golf course is beautiful and the golf course is outstanding! The resort location is convenient to the town of Cascias, the ocean, marina and many beautiful attractions.

Great staff, clean and convenient. Has a small gym at a sister property, but it closes at 7 pm (which is way too early for me). Pool was super hot, everything around it paved over with limited shade, and overrun with young children.

Friendly staff, quiet area, adjacent to golf course. Recent renumbering of the course meant that tee #1 was no longer adjacent to he hotel. The driving range was a short walk but the clubhouse and first tee were better accessed by car if carrying clubs.

Hôtel was amazing value, room was good size, very clean, well thought out, lovely pool both at the golf hotel and the sister boutique hotel which was within easy walking distance. Spa staff were very skilful and put you immediately at ease. Would happily go back.

The property Taylor’s to golf in fairness and I didn’t play and so can’t comment upon that. The hotel itself benefits from sitting on the course and so views across the fairway from the bar and rooms are stunning. The room was clean and spacious with a very practical yet stylish bathroom. The balcony was a welcome addition too. The general design of the communal areas was a bit dated and the indoor pool could do with a refurb. The changing areas was poor and impractical. No seating area to change. No drier for swimwear. All the lockers were locked without keys although no one else was using the pool or sauna. The toilets are next to the changing are which I found unsanitary. The staff were extremely welcoming although overall I found the venue a little soulless it seemed very transactional even so. Breakfast was good with good service. Overall it just missed that 5 stars for me but still a solid 4.5

Small details to make it a really special stay

We've been lucky to stay in style really nice resort hotels in the last few years, but since just get the little details right, which separate them from the rest. That was definitely true with Onyria. Things like the wine in the room being their own selected blend from one of the best wine houses, the fact that the receptionists had just that little bit more time for the guests, or that the barman, when we went for a digestive knew his whisky and gave me mine in the perfect glass. These little details make all the difference and I'd absolutely recommend this place.

Beautiful property with many amenities and sports. It is a great 4 star hotel. But it does not meet any of the standards of a 5 star hotel, which it claims to be.
Great service, but not extremely attentive. And the food was a huge disappointment. Very bland food.

Beautiful hotel in a relaxing environment, great location for those looking to have a base to explore, play golf or even just relax by the pool or the nearby beaches.

Some fantastic cocktails at the hotel bar (both alcoholic and non alcoholic) for a decent price!

In the evening, there is a fantastic pianist accompanying your dinner or drinks playing several sets.

Areas for improvement:
We enquired about all inclusive options and upgrades, however, the staff didn't seem to know anything about these? Odd.

Would recommend having a car or being prepared to get an Uber/taxi to Cascais or other local areas for dinners most evenings as the hotel food prices are quite ridiculous for the every day event, with desserts clocking in at over 12 Euros a piece.

Bottled water is a rip off here, 4.5 Euros a litre, shop at the local minimarket 5 mins around the corner...

Total lack of evening entertainment other than the afformentioned pianist.

Overall a pleasant experience, however, room for improvement on the evening entertainment and dinner offerings.

Treat for weekend away

I said overnight on my birthday, and I came back to my room after dinner to a bottle of champagne and cake. Throughout the staff were very nice and the setting is peaceful (although some guests felt the need to play loud music on their phones without consideration towards others). For golfers it seems to be a good destinations.

Set in a nature reserve so peaceful and quiet yet we were also able to visit Lisbon and Sintra on day trips .(only 30-35 Mins to lisbon by Uber )

Only minor complaint- they didn’t offer room upgrade despite hotels .com gold

But other than this Would definitely recommend

Terrible experience staying at this property. It is located in the middle of a construction zone away from the town.
There was always traffic driving to/from the hotel due to construction.
It is noisy with rooms not well insulated. Booked and paid for golf view, but was given a room overlooking a restaurant. There is no room service. The hotel claims it is 5 star, but in reality it is barely 3.
My last night could not get any sleep because of person in the next room snoring loudly. The hotel offered another room with missing refrigerator which we took and slept for couple of hours before we had to drive 5 hours to Porto with very little rest. I have talked to the hotel manager about my experience and he had assure me they will reimburse me for my last sleepless night, but I never heard back from them.
I had a very bad experience staying at this property and would not recommend it!

A good looking and well kept hotel very close to the golf course of the same name. Good parking outside and in their own garage. Very friendly reception and good clean rooms with large balconies overlooking the golf course. Good breakfast. Nice bar area.
We had dinner for 25 persons in the evening and it was a buffet. Buffet was ok.

Wonderful place to escape

I only stayed one night at Onyria Quinta da Marinha hotel but wish I had stayed longer. It is a beautiful resort with a lovely pool and golf course area. The staff were very welcoming and were careful with Covid protocols. The room was clean, spacious, with a large bed, and the air conditioning worked well. There is an infinity pool which looks out onto the golf course. The pool is very nice but is not huge. The bar food was good but expensive (I didn't eat in the restaurant itself). Despite that, I thought this hotel was overall very good value. You can pay to park in the underground car park with the resort fee (only 2 Euros a day) or there is free parking on the street outside. If I wanted an escape from Lisbon for a few nights, I think this hotel is ideal. I would definitely recommend it.
