Beautifully appointed hotel surrounded by a golf course. I don't play golf, but the course seemed very well maintained. Beds and pillows are quite firm, but otherwise everything was perfect. Great front and back office teams always willing to help.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights in April. We absolutely loved it. Room was amazing- lovely balcony, huge bathroom with gorgeous bath and every comfort you would need. Was very quiet and peaceful. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent with loads of choice and all meals we had at the bar and restaurant were lovely. We will definitely be back with out kids!

The grounds and staff were five-star. We loved the pools and restaurants—lots of stuff onsite to keep the kids entertained. Unfortunately, we stayed in Villa 5, which was large and comfortable, but very run down. The flooring was badly scratched, warped, and coming up in places. The shower doors didn't close fully and, therefore, completely flooded the floors, so we had to keep soggy towels all over the floors—which was gross. The thermostats were old, and it was impossible to figure out how to turn on the A/C. Overall, it was a good stay but be sure to ask for a recently renovated room/villa.

We had the best time at Onyria closing out 2024 and bringing in the New Year! Everything about our stay at the Hotel was fantastic: the entire resort with its beautiful, well-kept landscape (I'm a plant mom); the very friendly and always helpful staff (Luiza is a gem); the daily breakfast was delicious (my kids would stay in the line for a long time just to make their pancakes); and no complaints about our villa. Finally, Onyria's New Year's Eve Dinner Celebration at its Lakehouse was a hit for us. We highly recommend the resort, and already are planning to visit again in 2025!

The hotel is very modern and impressive and overall I was very impressed. The rooms are huge! Beds massive, huge bath and standalone walk in shower. Nice balcony with seating. My main issue in the room was that the interconnecting door between rooms had zero sound proofing. I could hear the neighbours in the shower! Also there was a coffee pod machine but no kettle or tea making facility.
Breakfast was very good.
The spa was very nice but looked in need of a bit of upkeep. The large expanse of windows were incredibly dirty and water marked, even just cleaning those would have made a big difference. I had a massage which was excellent.
Parking is free and easy, and getting a taxi into town is very cheap and easy!

I can't recommend it enough! From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and exceptional service. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated. The staff couldn’t have been better. They always went the extra mile. The rooms were terrific, the breakfast was superb and the bar was fun.
My only reservation is that, after breakfast, it was incredibly quiet and, I surmise because the accommodation is split between the hotel and accompanying lodges, there was no one around for much of the time.

Pool is nice but no mattress for the sun loungers and lots of children 10 and Under. You do need towel tokens but thre is no shortage of towels.

Fabulous villa…perfect for 4 people. 2 large bedrooms each with own bathroom. Furnished to a high standard and excellent air con. Great mix of nationalities and very helpful staff. Good place for young children but as a a family with grown up children we didn’t feel this was a negative at all. Possibly would benefit from a car but Ubers are plentiful and relatively cheap €3-6 into Cascais (we often got to marina then walked in) Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

Main Pool was closed on arrival then when It was opened there was no pool bar unless you ordered through their phone.
Park was a life saver for children as there’s nothing to do around the area unless you get in a car. Especially when it’s too cold to use the pools. Very hard to keep children busy.

Beautiful week at a beautiful hotel- our deluxe villa was mostly private with the exception of the noise from the playground directly behind our villa which was quite disturbing daily- the breakfast staff was very accommodating and everyone was friendly and helpful- only criticisms of the villa is that the bathrooms lacked privacy and there was a lack of pleasant landscaping around the villas, although the rest of the property was beautifully landscaped - although the villas were nicely furnished, I expected a more luxurious accommodation from the 5 star property

Not advised for early rising families.

Children below 3 are not allowed to use the indoor playroom until family time at mid day, even if the parent is in close proximity. Our child is 2.5 years, potty trained and attends school. His only option was to go into a small room for infants at a surcharge or wet his clothes outside as nothing was wiped down.

The outdoor chairs at the play area were not wiped down from overnight rain. The trampoline was wet, no night covers so kids get wet waiting for the play room to open at 9:30am. Swings and slide not wiped down either.

The indoor pool only opens at 10am.

Football balls were soft which shows a geberal lack of care and attention.

The kids play centre closes at 16:30. I shake my head in amazement. What on earth are parents to do from 16:30? Descend all at once to the indoor pool?

Imagine a hotel full of buggies and 50% of them will pass stairs to their room without a ramp. It’s disgraceful.

In the evening you can order the bar menu but the tables are not setup to eat as the tables are knee height. The main restaurant only serves a buffet of very very average food or you can order room service.

The purpose to visit this hotel is to have the kids taken off your hands for a short while and regrettably this is not what the hotel delivers. Mid day to 16:30 access is all that’s provided and it’s self service.

If you have kids under the age of about 8, this place is perfect. If, however, you have teenage kids, there is very little in the way of activities for them to do. The tennis academy wasn’t running when we were there (not enough interest), and there weren’t sufficient numbers to run other activities.

Beautiful hotel. Great for families. My 7 year old described it as \"epic!\". There is a selection of swimming pools and a large playground. Food is quite pricey and there isn't a huge variety. But all good quality and you can eat at the nearby town of Cascais, which is lovely. Would definitely recommend.

I loved the facilities available for kids and the staff - they were super friendly and helpful - my toddler loved it!

Disappointing was the food. The breakfast was standard for a good hotel - not 5* but it was fine. The pool bar food was good too and good options for kids.

The pool bar closed @ 6pm and the only other option was the main restaurant. This was good for kids (buffet option and also a menu) however the quality for adults was very mediocre. The menu was over complicated and very 'chefy' but the execution and overall quality was poor. With main courses priced @ EUR 25 this was really disappointing, A meal for two came in at over EUR 120 and only one of us was drinking wine. My recommendation would be to keep the menu simple, reduce prices and focus on the quality. The food was not in line with the overall standard of the hotel.

Perfect location, although nothing is in walking distance.

Food was pricey but nice.

Rooms were excellent but the bedroom was small so two young children no one slept well. In future I’d consider a villa or getting an adjoining room.

Only recommendation would be to have mire for adults as, despite the excellent staff and facilities, it felt slightly ‘souless’ - live entertainment, adults only time in the spa, cocktail hour to encourage adults to get together etc

Amazing hotel for families

We had a wonderful stay at Martinhal Cascais. It’s so well set up for families. The kids club is brilliant and our kids wanted to go all the time! It’s very safe and secure. There were lots of lovely touches such as the kids club staff are around at breakfast and dinner to help entertain the kids. The playground is amazing and there is a secure gate in and out so the kids can’t leave without you. The film nights and kids party nights are great too. The only thing that wasn’t so great was the lunch and dinner offer. The menus are quite limited (and very overpriced) so after 10 days it’s very boring and expensive - you definitely need to go out via taxi into Cascais to eat. We even went to Lidl and bought in food for lunch! Some people seemed to be on half board but this wasn’t offered to us - this would’ve been a good option.

Perfect to relax with family

Very well set up for families. Everything you need for children in room. Lovely breakfast, lots of options and plastic plates etc for children. Great kids club - one tip, most seemed to go in the afternoon, so this was the best time to go as more children to play with. Three different pool areas. Great playground. Staff very friendly.

My only complaint.... This hotel is situated in s residential area with nothing around it. For those without a car there is a shuttle to cascais centre and beach but it costs 1.50 per person, each way. This should be complimentary, given the cost if the hotel.

Other than that a great stay. I would return.

Amazing family hotel 40 minutes from Lisbon airport. They have all the infrastructure you need for your kid, no matter the age. The only \"issue\" is that they only have 2 restaurants and the menu is limited. I only stayed for 2 days and it was ok, but if I had to stay a full week, then it would become a problem.

I made my reservation with 3 months in advance. Before I began my trip with family I discovered a cancer that could not allow me to travel because the treatment.
I contact the hotel requesting cancelation, and they didn’t accept refund any day of my stay.
I hope they enjoy stealing my money.

The Hotel was located very close to the beaches. Lisbon was only 35 minutes away. The main attractions were all near Cascais. The Hotel Staff and service was beyond our dreams. The best part of our trip was the Kids club and amenities. I have a 6 and 9 year old and they loved it. Perfect hotel stay for families traveling with children.

Found the service in the ground restaurant to be quite slow and often had to make repeated requests for missing items from the breakfast buffet such as plastic cups, bowls etc for the children. We have recently returned from a 2 night stay at the hotel with our 11 year old. The hotel design and facilities are great.
I think we discovered it a bit late, as definitely those with younger children would get the most from what was on offer.
Staff are very helpful.
Food was OK, with mealtimes a bit hectic given the business over half term and the number of young children ... both of which are to be expected.
We enjoyed our stay and thought the area was great for a holiday.

Honeymoon Heaven!

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty by the friendly, English-speaking staff. The hotel is situated in its own quiet grounds which makes it great for families and is just a short shuttle bus ride from the beautiful resort of Cascais. The restaurant and bar food were top quality and the breakfasts were the best we've ever had. We can't rate the entire staff (reception, bar, cleaning) highly enough. Their exceptional service created a never-to-be-forgotten honeymoon.

Terrific hotel, with good use of space. Various pools for differing age brackets, Families etc. With a nicely fitted Spa also. Rooms are very good, spacious, clean and stylish. Slightly out of the Town of Cascais but the walk into town is very picturesque and I would highly recommend renting bikes and cycling round the area and along the coastline. Staff are very attentive, helpful with questions and ideas for restaurants.

Lovely hotel, brilliant for people with children

We have just come back from our holiday, having spent 12 wonderful days in the Martinhal Hotel in Cascais. The hotel was superb. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, there was a nice balcony and the bathroom was large. It was great to have such a big shower as well as a bath and two sinks.
The staff were absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they always had a smile on their face! The food was excellent quality; it was a great idea to have the BBQ evenings every Saturday. As a suggestion, it would great to have more such evenings (with a buffet). There was a lot to do and although the hotel is not a walking distance to a beach, the pool areas were perfectly suitable and we didn't feel the need to want to go to the beach. We went to Guincho once (this is the beach that the hotel shuttle can take you to) but realised that this is a surfers' paradise. It was too windy for people like us who are not surfers, so we didn't go there again. The beach in the Cascais town centre was great, not windy and the sea was calm so perfect for young children.
The hotel has a nice relaxed atmosphere and it is spacious so although it was full, it never felt full. The spa is great but very expensive, especially now that the British pound is so low.
The play areas in the hotel was brilliant. Our 7 year old son enjoyed playing on the playground and also playing pool, table tennis, mini-football. All it all, it was great and we will most likely come back again one day.

A perfect family hotel and getaway

Cant rate this place higher. service level of staff and their friendliness were great we always felt welcomed and attended to. The hotel's nsurrounds ere serene, and the location good for nearby cascais, the coastline, and nearby mountain retreat of Sintra. The Hotel is especially perfect for families with great kids club.

This is s lovely resort designed specifically for families with small children. Beautiful pools, Spa and 2/3 dining options with a great breakfast buffet, and a range of activities for kids inc extensive kids club. We were the only childless couple and have suggested to hotels.com it should be correctly listed by it's given and accurate name \" Martinhal FAMILY Hotel\". Staff were very good. It's slightly out of town but the resort runs shuttles and it's close to the coast and has a golf course.

Great for young children

This brand new hotel offers so much for families with young children. The resort is stylish and new with excellent facilities. The kids club is not only filled with fabulous toys, but the staff are warm and welcoming, engaging the kids in great activities.
We stayed in a 2 bed villa, which was incredibly spacious, but there was no bath which we found odd for such a child focused hotel.
The swimming pools are brilliantly designed for kids and the available 'babysitters' while you eat are heaven sent!
However, the food isn't that great. The kids meals are delicious, but we found the adult food a bit bland and boring. The service at mealtimes is a bit hap hazard. Quite often you'll ask for something and it doesn't arrive, or food arrives but no cutlery. That said, all the staff were incredibly friendly and the reception staff were exceptionally helpful and courteous.
Overall, in our search for a holiday that allows you to relax with young children, this has been the best so far. Great facilities in a superb location, near to the city and the beach. We would definitely return.

Excellent family hotel

We had a wonderful week long stay in August 2016. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the facilities were of a high standard. We would recommend the guided bike tours booked in the hotel reception; Manuel and his staff were very polite and friendly throughout the tour of Guincho and the return trip along the bike path.
Nothing was too much to ask - an excellent place to stay - we shall be returning!

Fantastic Family Hotel

A fantastic hotel which caters families with younger children.

The staff are excellent and attentive.

We were apprehensive when booking that the hotel wasn't near a beach - don't be - the facilites are excellent and there is frequent (& very cheep) \"Shuttle Bus\" (Actually a rather nice Merc. People Carrier).

The staff have a real passion for their job and this show in the excellent service.
