Short stay pleasant hotel

We stayed at the hotel twice (2 separate nights) for the purpose of being near the airport. It was value for money, clean and quiet. Easy to get into the city centre by the nearby tram. We also ate lunch at the steak restaurant next door which was pleasant.

The hotel is to the North of Bordeaux city centre. It is few minutes walk to a tram stop for the C Tram line and a 20-25 min tram line into the city.

The hotel pool is good with some sunbeds, and it’s open 11am-9pm with the hotel providing pool towels for free use.

The bedroom on 6th floor look to have been recently refurbished and was comfortable.

The hotel was let down by having not many staff to cover the bar during the day and reception. The breakfast buffet was basic, but there was staff replenishing regularly what was on offer. It was fine.

Spacious family room in business district outside of town

Hotel was a bit run down, seemed to have works going on. Decor need a revamp as bits were dirty and coming apart. Lobby toilet was not nice and had not been cleaned. One of the lifts was broken, the other very slow and not really worth using unless you needed to.

Dirty place and old, stinky too . They gave me an old room and I complained it wasn’t what I had seen in the website so they move me to a different floor with a new bedroom but still smell like 💩. Don’t book it at this location if you are smart . The ladies managers are very rude -no education .

We booked a room for 2 adults and 2 children and it was huge. price and quality was good. The pool is good and big.
The dinner was delicious and enough choice. The same applies for the breakfast. The service at the restaurant was not as good as the food. They were not very interested, gave us menu in French instead of English or asking us if we wanted the English one and not all employees spoke English.
Hotel needs some remodeling as it is old from the inside (dirty carpets, old paint, etc);
For one night i would recomend.

Dirty and run-down. I have no idea how this hotel earns 4 stars. Bathroom counters and walls have water spots and other stains, hairs on nearly every surface. Dust everywhere in bedroom. Carpets, especially in common areas dirty, stained, and old, unraveling at edges. The place looks like it was under renovation but never renovated. I’ve stayed in 2 star hotels far better than this one.

clean and easy stay close to airport

This was a last minute, need one night, close to the airport decision. The hotel was fine, clean and welcoming. The area is quite industrial and not much around. There was a decent burger restaurant next door that served good food. I would recommend if you need easy parking and easy transit to another deal destination, not sure I would stay more than a night or two.

Not a good experience at all!

It’s not like a 4star hotel! It’s just like a 2/3stars one! Very poor service, poor quality, sofa bed was very uncomfortable and we all ended up sleeping in one bed! Breakfast quality was so poor!

Air con still very inadequate first night suffered with heat 2nd night had to get a stand up fan which made it bearable, rooms a bit dated though the lobby is modern, staff were friendly which makes a change in France. Wifi not very good, not anywhere near enough sun beds around the pool, water was cold and lots of kids. breakfast was ok, didn't have dinner there needed to get away from the kids, Hippopotamus restaurant close by and a Mcdonalds, tram 5 min walk to city center (20min). If i were stay in that area again i would book the Pullman Hotel.

Comfortable hotel, good for road access

We stayed at the Mercure with two children on our drive up France from Biarritz. The hotel is next to a big conference centre and a few other hotels.

The hotel is modern and comfortable, with a smallish swimming pool that proved a welcome relief in the blazing sunshine.

The room was fine, ours had a view of the lake. The air conditioning worked well.

Breakfast was the usual baked goods and some hot food. We didn’t eat in the bistro, but there is a fair amount of choice with a nearby retail park and several other restaurants.

Plenty of free parking, the hotel is just off the A630. There is also a nearby tram stop.

Disappointing stay

The staff were pleasant and helpful but the hotel was let down greatly by the standard of the room although it was clean. There was a broken floor light, sofa bed had bent metal sticking out from broken joints. The bathroom door had a missing hook and paint stripped off at the bottom from when the shower flooded the floor when it was used. We were given one pillow each and had to ask twice before getting more and we were told these were the last in the hotel. The air conditioning was non existent in our room and we had to sleep with the window open but then suffer mosquito bites. We left after 2 nights feeling exhausted.

Smart clean & comfy hotel with plenty of secure parking. good for overnight stop.
shame pool was ice cold even in 30c heat & pricy bar at 7Euro 50cl beer & soft drinks too much. ended up at McDonald's around the corner.
But overall nicer hotel than many around & would stay overnight again.

Not 4 Star !!! Staff very friendly, tried to help

Unfortunately the room faced the sun, and with 34C the airconditioning was totally inadequate. Even changed rooms, still NO good had to ask for a fan to make it anywhere near bearable. The second floor lift up and down buttons were reversed. Kettle tray cracked from heat of boiling water.
Pillows very small and sub standard. Staff did not have management support to correct wrongs. Got the impression the management did not care.

What a dump!

It seemed this establishment was on it last legs before closure. Holes in the old and very worn-out curtains, Walls with blood stains and marks that have not been cleaned for quite some time. This place was a filthy dive

Having stayed at Mercure Hotels from Russia and across Europe, this one destroyed the image I previously had of Mercure Hotels being a reasonable stay.

Thankfully we only stayed one night travelling through on our way to Spain. Couldn't wait to leave and get out of France back to civilization!

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and I stay in roughly 50 hotels a year.

Hotel was okay, staff were helpful. Disappointing that the pool was closed despite the weather still being warm enough to swim. Air conditioning was ineffective so had to leave the window open, resulting in an influx of mosquitoes.

Usual Mercure style

Well first of all having read that there was a restaurant, booking and paying for this hotel on that basis. When we arrived after a very long drive we were told the restaurant was closed however room service was from 7pm until 11pm, also not available. Don't know why the receptionist even bothered to tell us about it. Luckily there were eating options at another hotel and fast food outlet nearby. Secondly in this nation of cycle lovers surely somewhere secure to leave bikes would be a good idea. Once again Mercure let us down with a curt, no! I am getting seriously disillusioned with Mercure especially as their prices are not exactly cheap. Mercure please take note, people like to eat at weekends too!

Modern, clean hotel. Our room was very spacious with comfortable beds. Pool not heated but big enough and nice chairs to lounge on! Breakfast adequate (usual French standard...) Friendly staff. Direct access to the motorway and a short drive to the tram station for city centre.

Poor location

You really need transport to stay here. It seems impossible to reach anywhere by foot. Once the tram service is running, this will make everything more accessible. Couldn't even walk to the commercial centre, and as it was raining there was nothing to do, and nowhere to go for a coffee.

Booked as a stopover for visit to Disneyland. The hotel is billed as close to Disneyland, in fact it's 18km to Disneyland according to TomTom. We booked a quad room, double with shower + bunk beds , very cramped, bathroom was dirty. Corridor leading to rooms dark and dingy, stank of cigarrettes, pretty disgusting and depressing really. Buffet breakfast was ok; best avoided.

Good place to stay (without kids)

We stayed for one night as a stopover on our way home, the hotel was very neat and being redecorated but without any major disruption.Our only problem was that due to traffic we arrived very late to find that the restaurant was just closing as was pretty much everything else in the local area. Room service only did the food that was served in the Restaurant which sounded nice but was way too upmarket for our five year olds (Gazpacho of melon was one choice..). They don't do a kids menu and we didn't find out until we left the next morning that there was a McDonalds about five minutes away. All in all a very nice place for adults but not so good for children.

The rooms are recently updated and very pleasant, the hotel staff competent and friendly. Some public areas are currently under renovation resulting in some minor inconvenience. The location was convenient for visiting Bordeaux and the Médoc vineyards, and offered adequate nearby casual dining options. WiFi functions but needs work. Overall good value.

Overall we were content with the hotel but one set of cardboard cups provided with the tea/coffee making facility we though was cheap and less than expected of a hotel such as the Mercure. This should be changed as it is poor service.

Even though the room was clean and comfortable, I was dissatisfied with the hotel because I purposely chose it because it was advertised to have a restaurant in it. However, for the two days we were there, the restaurant faciliies were not open. They did have a very nice, but very expensive breakfast bar available, but no other meals. They should not advertise a restaurant if they do not operate it!! The resevation was non refundable as well.

Si vous voulez vous faire réveiller en pleine nuit par du rodéo de voiture foncez !
Donc bruits très violent durant une partie de la nuit.
Douche sans thermostatique donc difficile de régler la température de l' eau qui est soit brûlante soit froide....
C'était censé être une nuit reposante et bien nous rentrons fatigué !

Très déçus pour un hôtel Mercure ! Hôtel dégradé, vieux, sale, bruyant… moquette tachée, salle de bain sale, on a même retrouvé une culotte enfant sous le meuble télé. Meubles, WC, miroir et porte sdb très abîmés. Pas de sac poubelle dans les wc, pas de corbeille à papier dans la chambre. Très bruyant avec les moteurs de la Clim juste derrière le mur de la chambre 121. Accueil arrivée décevant, zéro accueil au départ, zéro accueil au petit déjeuner. Il est grand temps de penser à rénover cet hôtel qui ne mérite pas plus qu’une étoile !

Tuvimos muy mala experiencia, no lo recomiendo. Las Instalaciones son muy viejas, y reciben poco mantenimiento, el baño de la habitación pésimamente aseado, pelos y uñas en el suelo, mal olor, aparatos sanitarios manchados y sucios. La ducha con muy poca agua, sin presión. El lavabo no funcionaba bien, se atascaba el wc y el lavabo. La habitación con moqueta manchada y maloliente. Aspecto muy desagradable. El servicio muy deficiente, a excepción de un camarero muy majo que habla español, los demás poco simpáticos y mal presentados. El desayuno carísimo para la poca calidad de la comida, muy mal servido, con pocas condiciones de higiene, moscas en la comida. No lo recomiendo,
