The room was spacious, quiet and comfortable, staff were nice and friendly and I love the water taps to refill a bottle with sparkling or still water on every room level. I didn’t use the pool but it had a nice swimming pool for a quick splash!

The hotel was nice overall, with friendly and helpful staff at reception, breakfast, and the bar. The pool area was enjoyable, though often busy. Convenient location with easy access to both the town and motorways.

However, room service was disappointing. Over our 10-day stay, the room wasn’t cleaned daily—bins weren’t emptied, and dirty glasses and mugs were left untouched. Sheets were never changed, and we had to repeatedly ask for fresh towels, toilet paper, and body wash.

Loved our stay here. We had a very friendly warm welcome, great room, restaurant dinner & breakfast great, so convenient to have tram stop outside hotel for easy quick access into the city to explore. Pool was lovely and hotel has a great vibe. Will definitely return.

Good hotel outside of Bordeaux. Clean, modern and friendly/helpful staff. Parking is secure (decent size), however the tram stop (Pink line C) is right outside the hotel and it’s a 18 minute journey into the centre of Bordeaux and costs €1.90 pp per way (or €6 pp for 24 unlimited use) - perfect way to travel to see the city -
Also if you are a Tesla/electric car owner, there is a Tesla supercharger a few roads away.

The rooms were to a smart and good standard. The swimming pool was unsafe with only one set of stairs into it which were coming away from the floor. On check-in we were told the time for breakfast and were given the impression it was included only to then be charged EUR 25 per person per day. It was not worth that value. Knowledge of the reception staff wasn't great either.

Tired old hotel poor value for money

Tired old business hotel. Depressing bilious green stained carpet and decor. Old bathroom with leaking shower and no surface to put toiletries on. Staff incompetent and took two card details. Charged the wrong card despite saying they would charge the other one. Charged for so called secure parking that wasn’t secure as anyone could get in and out as the barrier was automatic. We said we didn’t want breakfast but they tried to charge us for it anyway.. Horrible location, area felt very run down and unloved. A big mistake.

Nice hotel with high deposits !!

Good : central Bordeaux very accessible by tram.
Pool area and bar nice as is room all as would expect at this price level .

Bad: Being asked for a 1400 Euro deposit on arrival for a 700 euro stay. When challenged we were told that the receptionist had put on too much and that it should be the cost of the room plus 100 euros a day though not to worry as this was only an authorisation and that the money wouldn't have been taken. On leaving we paid the bill owing. A couple of days later on checking the credit card it showed both the 1400 deposit and the 700. We enquired and then was told it was our credit card providers fault as they had cancelled the preauthorisation when we left. Whilst we are chasing this up - we feel that it is very presumptive of this hotel to take so much even if it is only 100 euros a day as soon as you arrive .
If they feel the clientele are likely to do a runner - why not just charge the room rate and one flat charge of 100 euros . The cost of breakfast and dinner are quite expensive if not doing the lunchtime special and it is most unlikely that someone will take all their meals there during a 4 day stay!!

Other niggles were lack of minibar/fridge in rooms on 4th floor and we struggled with the safe .

The hotel main reception and bar area is nice, with modern decor. The staff were also very friendly. The room had nice decor and very spacious and there was minimal noise from other guests. It was excellent that the hotel has a water tap offering filtered water (including sparkling) to refill.

The only minor issue was the shower head did not work properly as half of the nozzles appeared to be blocked. Also, we got to our room and 10 minutes later the service maids were knocking on seeing if we needed the room clean which I thought was strange & even with the do not disturb sign they knocked on.

The property is conveniently located with a tram stop right across the road. The tram journey towards central takes 20-30 mins depending on where you get off so easy. Although, going to the centre it begins quiet but more towards the centre it can get very busy and on the way back can also be standing room only.

The hotel is also right near the lake and it is a nice walk around the lake.

Hotel Pullman is close to the wine museum. It is not so far away from driving to vineyards. The front desk staff are kind and helpful. They have a great parking lot which is not usually available in many hotels in France.

There was no spa - although it is included in Hotels.com description.
Only good thing about this hotel was that it was right outside the tram stop and the ring road, so very easy to get into the city by tram; and away from the city by car.
There were 2 (false) fire alarms from 7.15am on Saturday. The receptionist, when asked, said they were due to a new cleaner but didn't even apologise for the early wake up.
No information in rooms, or on TV, about hotel, just a QR code which pointed to very limited info.
Didn't have breakfast in hotel as it was 20.50 euros.

When booking, I asked for 2 beds and got 1 bed. I had to ask them to change the room. I wanted to take a shower when i got to the room, but there was no body wash/ soap. I had to ask the front desk for soap. There was a convenient nespresso machine and tea kettle in the room. But there were no cups in the room to drink it. When i asked the front desk for cups, they told me could not help me and advised me to ask the hotel restaurant for a cup which i thought was strange. Why should i have to go fetch items that should already be in my room? Thats their job. The hotel looks nice in the lobby and the rooms were clean. But the carpeting in the halls needed vacuuming. Rooms were quiet.The train was conveniently located across the street. Pool was nice. Dinner in the restaurant was bland and mediocre, but the servers were nice. Breakfast was good but overpriced. There were few food options in the neighborhood and not too many other conveniences like a grocery, pharmacy, or convenience stores.

Beautiful river side hotel!

The hotel was beautiful and clean, with attentive staff and a lovely swimming pool. There’s a metro right outside, linking you directly to the city centre. There’s also bike rental right outside, for a great ride around the lake. Perfect!

In a hotel of this price level, I thought it bizarre for the management to close the bar at 12 on a Saturday night when it was still very busy. I've come to expect the strange in customer focus in France but what type of business sense does this make? It appears the unions are still holding the whip hand in the 21st century!

Great for heading north.

I've stayed at this hotel several times, ideal if heading north when arriving late at the airport as the hotel is only 20mins away.

Easy parking, large hotel with good sized rooms.

Only down side is that the restaurant isnt open late but you have the option of room service.

Genrally the staff on reception and in the bar and restaurant were good, however, house keeping is bery poor. One day our room was not touched when we got back at 9 pm. Other days there was dirty bed linen and a cleaning bottle left in our room + no replacement paper cups. I did ask the chamber maid but she siad they had run out 3 days running.
Breakfast was good but ran out of cooked, pastries and melon on 3 days.

We got a very hot week in France with temperatures of more than 40o C and the air conditioning in the room would not go cold enough. We required a service maintenance, they did but nothing changed. We change the room and nothing changed. We spent 3 nights sleeping very bad because the room was very hot. I am sure the hotel was doing some kind of block down for the air conditioning in the rooms , because in the other hand, the lobby of the hotel was always good and cold.

Our stay with Pullman in Bordeaux!

We liked our room. It was roomy. The front desk was really friendly and outgoing. There was available parking which is a plus. The hotel is also dark and drab in the hall and lobby. They need to brighten it up a bit. The pool had a weird gate that was hard to open. The bartender didn’t seem to know what a vodka martini was and I had to google and show her the recipe and it was still incorrect. She didn’t follow the measurements. The location is far from the city center. We liked the pool. The buffet was not good for us. We like veggies and less carbs. It was very carb loaded! They did have soy milk for me.

Good stay in Bordeaux suburbs

The hotel was convenient for us as we were touring the wine regions and we needed a place easy to get to (without the traffic jams to get into and out of the city centre) with easy and safe car park.
The tram in front of the hotel gave us quick and easy access to town 1 evening for visiting city centre and enjoy the local food culture.
The renovated rooms (4th floor) are comfortable and well sound-proofed.
Breakfast buffet is recommendable for european taste.
Excellent free and fast wifi in room.
Excellent bed.

This hotel had numerous issues. First and foremost, the bed was so hard, I woke up every morning with a terrible back ache, even my ribs hurt. The window wouldn’t close so I heard street noise constantly. The thermostat did not adjust the temperature in the room. The shower would steam up the entire room. Maid service was awful despite being tipped well. They never replaced items such as glasses, towels, wash cloths or bath floor mats. The bed only included a comforter, no top sheet and the bed was poorly made by the maids. The coffee maker in the room was corroded with hard water deposits. The gym equipment was at least 10 years old and didn’t work. We ordered room service and the food was ok. The restaurant isn’t opened on the weekends. The breakfast buffet included stale croissants and coffee wasn’t very good. The location on the city rail line was convenient. No garage parking. Definitely not worth the price. I should have stayed at a Super 8 Motel.

Had a terrible experience at the Pullman. The air conditioner in the room could not cool the room. The hotel staff examined it and could not do anything about it. Requested a fan at three different times so we could sleep at night. All requests were ignored. We could not get much sleep. The room smelled. Towels were old and torn. Instead of replacing it, housekeeping just folded the same towel. Clothes hangers were broken/fell off the rod; asked for replacement but nothing was done. At checkout discussed all these issues with two people at the reception. They took my email and said the manager will contact me. Have never heard back from them.

This was a total waste of our money and ruined the tale end of our vacation. It was a big mistake to book this hotel through Expedia. Since the room was already paid for, we did not have other recourse.

Nice hotel good location

The hotel is about 15 mins outside the city with great tram links. Facilities are good and the room was excellent. Check in service was very good however the restaurant/ bar staff let the hotel down. Whether they were understaffed it was difficult to tell . They often forgot your drinks order and came back some time later to check what you’d ordered. Similarly in the restaurant the waiter took some time to take our order double checked it and my husband then received a completely different dish. By this time we were very hungry so he just ate it. He also ordered some fries with his meal these didn’t arrive at all.

Business class hotel in need of major renovation

The Pullman is a business class hotel located north of the city center by Lac Bordeaux, right by the tram (streetcar line), 20 minute ride to downtown city center. It should be a good quality hotel but its desperately in need of renovation, which has begun. The room was in a disappointly shabby condition, damaged furniture, badly stained carpets etc. Good size room, safe for valuables. Toilet was in a separate room from the sink and shower, never seen this before in this class of hotel, unacceptable. Parking on premises, but expensive. We did not eat at the breakfast buffet, very expensive. Front desk staff was very helpful.

A bit of a tired convention hotel. Convenient and peaceful location out near the Lake with great access to the Bordeaux city sights via tram system stopping right outside the door. Also a large shopping centre nearby and other dining options including casino next door. We had a nice view of the Lake and a window we could open to it, fortunate as the air con doesn't cope in this hotel. We paid extra for breakfast which was pretty ordinary. Staff were doing their best but this hotel just missed the mark for the money and the Pullman name.

Good facility overall but the carpet was filthy, and not just in a few places. It was in marked contrast to the rest of the room which was updated and clean. Also the left side of the bed was so soft it was difficult to stay on.

A great hotel for a Bordeaux weekend

Very pleased with the Pullman Bordeaux Lac. Very friendly and helpful staff at reception on arrival. Free up grade to superior room. Quick and efficient check in. Room was very good, overlooking the lake-it is a very quiet location. Very clean room. Hotel itself in a few places looks a bit jaded-the odd stain on the carpets here and there for instance, but there is a renovation programme underway. All the facilities were spotless. Superb buffet breakfast with everything you could imagine. Everybody we met said good morning (in French of course) and smiled as though they were really pleased we were at their hotel. There is a public tram stop directly opposite the hotel which runs straight to the heart of Bordeaux (stop QUINCONCES for main square). Trams run every 10-15 minutes by day. We used it a lot. A single journey costs 1.50 euro, tickets bought at the tram stop from a machine-coins or bank card and option for English language on screen. After 7pm the fare is 2 euro for unlimited journeys until close of the line.

A very impressive initial experience on entering reception area, which is light & airy. The staff in all areas are very helpful & pleasant. Lovely room, clean & spacious. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the city, with the tram (10 mins to the city) just across the road with the beautiful Le Lac in the background. The pool area is a welcome quiet space with loungers & umbrellas. There are lovely restaurants in the vicinity with bicycle hire if you don't wish to walk or travel into the city.

More 3* than 4*. Had a \"superior room\" and found that a bit basic. Paper cups for coffee machine. Only 4 coffee pods (2 regular & 2 decaff)and 2 tiny milks. Free water is a nice touch. Basic free toiletries. Hard bed and too soft pillows. Very hot rooms. Aircon won't go down far enough. Issues with the free wifi. Needs an overall refurb.

Beautiful Bordeaux a place to remember

The Pullman is a little way out of the city however the tram line right outside takes just 15 minutes and runs regularly. The hotel is very nice with obliging staff. There are no free weights in the gym which would cost very little to add. The room has integrated air conditioning which was useless and we had to sleep with the window open all night as the room was hot and stuffy. Overall a nice hotel but the cooling system needs improving

Nice hotel - efficient (though not massively welcoming) check in. Reasonable facilities and good position close to tram link and the lake. Rooms were tired in places - towel rack in our junior suite was hanging off the wall. Breakfast good though and good service. Stayed 4 nights. On arrival our coffee tray was empty but housekeeping arrived to top it up. Main bed was a bit saggy. However we had a good stay and liked the surroundings.

Best Bet for Bordeaux

Between 2 busy weeks we were really pleased to escape the hustle and bustle for this lakeside retreat. Tram stops right in front of the hotel and makes a straight shot to the train station...a God send since taxis were on strike...and very convenient for sightseeing. Two sinks, separate tub and shower. Super breakfast spread. Comp water and soft drinks in the room fridge. Very nice elevated pool. Only 30 meters to the Barriere Casino and the Pullman gave us a coupon for 2 glasses of champagne at the Barriere restaurant/ sidewalk café.

Nice place to stay

This was a very nice hotel, very comfortable, but was on the edge of the city. The public transport is conveniently placed outside the hotel but with the city traffic the journey can take anywhere from 20-40 minutes! Fortunately, we had a car to explore the surrounding areas and didn't venture into the city much. You do have to pay for parking here which I think is a bit excessive given the location but they clearly can charge as the parking was pretty full. The room was a good size and was very clean, and the pool was lovely, a nice break from all the wine tasting! Overall, a good place to stay.

Bad location, broken shower

We did not realize it would take a tram and a bus to get to the hotel from downtown hotel - poor planning on our behalf. Hotel staff were very focused on a conference and not interested in the rest of us. Our room was not clean. There were little black flies in our washroom, toilet and sleeping area. The gym was terrible. The breakfast was 26 €!! Too much for too little.

Near perfect Hotel and location !

Our first time in Bordeaux and arrival at the Pullman exceeded our expectations. Check-in was easy, staff were very good and room was superb with view over the lake. All far better than expected, bearing in mind the price paid. Fantastic value, will definitely come again !

Enjoyable stay

|We enjoyed our stay here overnight before flying home the next day. Staff are friendly and helpful. A new station for the tram is still to be opened in front of the hotel. We went into Bordeaux using the number 14 bus and then the tram at next station.

Will be better when they finish building the tram!

Good location by Bordeaux Lac just a couple of minutes from the ring road - rather spoilt at present as the tram extension is being built & goes along the road between the hotel & lake. Decent sized rooms. Concierge very helpful.

Great Base for the Bordeaux Vineyards but ...

The Pullman Hotel is located on the Bordeaux Lake which is wonderfully placed to use Bordeaux's excellent ring road.Unfortunately it is currently surrounded by works to extend the City's tram system and negotiating the local \"deviations\" required some skill.However, we spent 3 enjoyable days based in a pleasant room. The beds are comfortable, the breakfasts good and the staff helpful.This is not a base from which to stroll into town or to a neighbourhood restaurant so a car is essential.Luckily parking in Bordeaux is easy and we spent two enjoyable evenings at excellent Bordeaux restaurants. The ambience of the hotel is more conference than boutique but we felt it represented excellent value as the base for our travelling to the Medoc and to Saint Emilion

Great hotel, shame about the shuttle!!

Only used the room. restaurant far too expensive - 25 euros for breakfast? Come on!!!

Location excellent and when new tram line completed next year will be brilliant.

One annoyance was that there is no shuttle to/from the airport as mentioned in their advertising. This is very misleading as it cost 45 euros for a one way trip by taxi. Public transport was possible but what a drag, 2 buses and a tram.

Good hotel

We stayed in the junior suite, which was great value over the weekend. The location of the hotel is not great if you are there to see the city but transport links are good. Right next door to the conference centre however. I was very disappointed that the restaurant had no vegetarian option, given that the hotel's location is so poor.

Out of the way ,but nice and quiet.

A Well appointed hotel, with all that you would need. the rooms are well looked after and clean. The pool area is small but the seating area with comfy chairs cold water and towels are very welcome.booking in was very painless the receptionist spoke excellent english. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of some of the bar and catering staff. The breakfast was very good as was the food in the evening both bar snacks and the a la carte menu. Parking was plentiful. Although the hotel is well outside Bordeaux a bus and tram ride quickly gets you into the city. You can drive in parking is plentiful. All in all a good hotel and nice experience but if you are going to actively sell to an english market then you need at least one or two people in each area to be fluent.

Nice stay at a nice hotel

With our teenage son, we stayed in a Junior Suite which was facing to the lake opposite.
The room was clean and fairly spacious with a partitioning wall in the middle which was marvellous when our son wanted to watch TV while we wanted to read. Some drinks in the room minibar were free plus tea and coffee faciity. The staff at the reception, the breakfast room(our deal included buffet breakfast -usual stuff but very nice) the housekeeing staff were all very polite and helpfull with good English.
As our stay was meant for a rest rather than sightseeing, we did not hire a car. We requested to be picked up from the airport which was EUR 24 and took about 20 mins. The public transport system into the center of Bordeax is very straight forward using a bus and a tram - EUR1.40 single.
We enjoyed the outdoor swiming pool and billiards tables in the reception area and drinks at the bar but did not eat at the restaurant.
Because of the holiday season, the other guests seemed to be couples (of various ages), families and goups of holiday makers - mainly French and some British.
We had a relaxing and comfortable stay and we would definately consider to stay at this hotel when we visit Bordeaux next time.

Nice Hotel a little far from town

VERY nice hotel with a VERY attentive staff. Close to the Casino and the Congress Hall (Convention Center), but not close to town. Public transportation is excellent in Bordeaux, but it is a hike to get there or a taxi ride. Bordeaux is a beautiful town and if you stay at the Pullman, you could easily miss the city because of its location in Bordeaux-du-lac.

The Pullman Bordeaux Aquitania Hotel is Amazing!

The hotel was great overall. The location was beautiful. The staff members were very helpful. The location is on the highway so it is a short drive from the airport, but you could always ask reserve the hotel shuttle for free IN ADVANCE; I forgot to do that.

It has a casino 1 minute away by foot and it is on the Bus/Tram ways to the downtown area.

One thing to be aware of, all the staff members were nice and helpful, but not all of them are bi-lingual. I would say half of them are and it is manageable English.

Amazing. A car helps.

Robert, the concierge, was one of the nicest, most attentive people I have met, and I have been traveling for six months. Just fantastic. He really went out of his way for me. It was very much appreciated.
The bed was also one of the most comfortable I have slept in in Europe (after two months). The dinner was OK, but keep in mind it was March when I was here, so hardly anyone around. A car is a necessity if you wish to venture out as taxi's are not available. But I think you will find that you have everything you need if you have Robert and his excellent staff.
Bravo!!

Sincere and very comfortable.

(1) If you plan to see Bordeaux, you will need a car if you plan to stay here (2) the service was impeccable. Robert, the concierge was incredibly helpful, attentive, and sincerely friendly. I might have wanted to hug him once or twice. I was here in low season, so I cant say much for the location, although I imagine the lake is beautiful with a little sun on it. Its only a short drive (ten minutes) into the city, but I understand taxi's are expensive. (3) The most comfortable bed in europe in my 36 days here (4) One of the best hotels I have stayed in on my 6 month trip around the world.
