We picked it for the free parking and it was easy access to both the hi way and 10 minutes to downtown. It’s a comfortable clean place with a very friendly and helpful staff and good food. It’s safe but not walkable. A bit of an industrial area but quiet, glad I had a car though.

Reception staff were fine, housekeeping was rubbish and for the whole two nights the hotel had no hot water. We were out during the day when I was advised there was some hot water. When we arrived and when we left and the times we were in the hotel, there wasn’t even a trickle of hot water. Booked for two nights received no replacement of tea or coffee in my room for the second day. Very uncomfortable pillows and a bathroom that came out of the 1980s.

Not a very welcoming hotel .... during check-in 3 people behind the desk and no other customers but none of the staff interested in helping or greeting me (completely ignoring me), nobody at the breakfast and nobody again during check-out (so eventually I gave up and put the room-card in the box). Room was clean. Breakfast simple/OK. Will stay again but staff needs some customer training.

An Outstanding Service

Our family spent one night only in this Hotel but Novotel Antwerp fully met our expectations. Although the place itself was a little bit outdated, the bed was comfy and the room clean.
The highlight of our stay came the following morning when we received the Service from Driss, F&B attendant. His people skills, warm welcoming attitude and overall attention to details were exceptional.
Driss, one more time I take this opportunity to express gratitude of our family for making our day with Novotel unforgettable. You are the real asset to that place.

Perfect for us on a overnight stay.

We only stayed over night as a stop off. Having read other reviews i wasn’t sure what we would find. However we couldn't find fault. The room was clean and i liked the fact it had a separate internal door which made it really quiet. Bed was comfy the sofa bed not so comfy but ok.
The kid's loved the pool. Which had towels available to use.
Breakfast was busy but great.
Staff were friendly.
Would definitely use again if in that area.

WORST HOTEL IN THE HISTORY OF NOVOTEL
(POOR HOTEL MANAGER AND RECEPTIONIST.

I had three asthma crisis while I was in the hotel due to the smell of the hotel.

Unfriendly receptionist and lack of professionalism.

Silly hotel manager who is meant to be working as a store replenishing staff rather than a manager.

Hospitality of the hotel is extremely is beyond poor.

I will never recommend to my worst enemy.

Disappointing arriving to dirty unprepared room!!

After travelling from the UK to our first stop we were really disappointed by this hotel. We arrived at 5pm to walk into a dirty, uncleaned and unprepared room. With two small children in tow this was very inconvenient. We then had to wait for it to be made up which was over an hour. To top it off the restaurant is closed on a Sunday night so we couldn’t even eat whilst we wait. They were clearly short staffed and the guy did try his hardest to be helpful.
The hotel location meant that there was not a lot around to offer.
Breakfast was good though.

I liked the friendliness of the staff and easy checkin/checkout facility.

I did not like the fact that the telephone in the room was totally broken with no buttons on it and was not usable. The temperature control system was non-functional, had to open a window during winter as it was uncomfortably hot in the room for sleeping at night.

Inadequate air conditioning

I am really disappointed as the mattress in the room was very comfortable. I was looking forward to two really good nights sleep. Unfortunately the air conditioning had almost zero affect on the room temperature with some slightly cool air coming from one small wall vent The weather in Antwerp at the time was 34 c. I resorted to opening the window at 3am which allowed me some sleep however was very noisy outside from about 4am. I found the staff really friendly and found the room otherwise on a par with other Novotels I have stayed at.

Okay place for a night stop over

The stay was overall okay, its a good place for a stop over while traveling far distance. Kids enjoyed playing football outside and the swimming in the pool. Breakfast was limited but okay. Some rooms need a lot of updating and refurbishing.

Great customer service but room was a let down

The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The reception area look nice but the room definitely did not match up to the initial impression and it being a spa hotel. The first room we were allocated to was horrible with extremely dirty carpet with big patches of stain, cracks on the walls with outdated deco. The room was rundown and dirty. The worst room I have came across among all the hotels I have stayed before. When the front desk staff came to help us to prepare the sofa bed for my child, he was shocked by the condition of the room and he offered to move us to another floor with a renovated room. The second room was so much better and cleaner. I think they did a half renovation on it. They changed the carpet and updated the bathroom and a few bits. The bed was still uncomfortable and I think the ventilation was bad as we could smell cigratte smoke although our window was closed the whole time. As it was just for a night stopover for us, we just put up with the smell. I do not think we will stay with them again unless they do a major improvement to their rooms and ventilation.

Un-acceptable Maintenance

Due to location of the Hotel, we use it quite often.
This time was a 4 nights stay (2 rooms booked).
The 1st night I noticed that the shower drain was clogged and at every shower, the bathroom floor is full of water.
The next morning I asked it to be fixed (and I can see the receptionist write this down in their log) ... when I get back in the evening unfortunately the issue is still there.
On my way out, I mention this to the receptionist once again.
The next evening, after I return to the Hotel, I can see that nothing was done ... so I report this once again.
and the same the next morning, the next evening ... and so on.
Nothing was done to the shower drain during the time I was there, even if was reported at least 6 times - and logged by receptionist.
Only my last night, after another complaint, I was offered a room switch - which I declined being that it was the last night of stay.

Well over-due renew and maintenance.

The hotel is in need for a long-due renovation and maintenance.
showers with missing water knobs, silicone seals must be repalced, sinks that are clogged, old windows leaving cold air through and a very outdated and showing the age furnitures and finishing.
note that I was staying in 2 different rooms during my stay ... so I was able to notice the same issues on different rooms.

Lovely ladies at reception was very helpful and so professional. Thank you for recommendation of the places to see, this was really useful. Room generally was clean but... all nasty stains on the carpet and condition of it, was really making us to feel, that room wasn't clean but there was no other dirty or dust. Overall stay was nice but some people's was really noise untill 2am! it was impossible to go sleep... AC wasn't doing good job so we have to open windows which resulted with noise from the road AND making us to lessen this people's who doesn't respect other with them behaviour.

Meets needs but not up to Novotel standards

I stay at Novotel properties during most of my travels. There us a minimum standard for Novotel that this property does not meet. While the property is clean and the staff is superb, carpets all need to be replaced. Breakfast should be included with all reservations because it is not worth the €19 per adult fee.
Without updates, this hotel should rebrand to their IBIS budget hotel

Arrived to the Hotel with my wify, 2year old son and father only to be told the Hotel had lost my booking.

Hotel was full but as it was their fault thy said they would find alternate accommodation.
With only 1 girl on front desk (really? for a fully booked hotel?!) it took over an hour as she also had to deal with check ins.

In the end we were given the option of the Ibis Budget next door, so a 3 star down to a 1 star hotel within the same group.
Had to then come back and negotiate ourselves free dinner to compensate for the price difference. It was as if they thought We found you a bed, thats good enough.

Keeping in mind we were booked in a mid range and not budget hotel I'm very disappointed in AccorHotels level of service in relation of staffing levels and compensation.

It’s the worst Novotel hôtel I have seen in my life.
Really it’s very old & ugly hotel.
I do not repeat the experience with kids,
To be honest it’s only for one or two night not more.
The staff is very helpful and very good.

Stop over on way to Germany

Been using this hotel for about 10 year's now. Not sure if I would stay there again. Breakfast let down our experience. Staff seemed busy and unlike before I thought a little rude. Floor was strewn with food no effort to clean it, just wipe and clear tables. Food was cold and ran out often.

Really nice hotel with comfortable rooms. Stayed there for two nights as a family of four. Breakfast on the first morning was chaotic - went down for breakfast with about 45 minutes before they stopped serving. There was no food for us on the buffet. We were told that the football team that was staying there had finished the food. After a few complaints, food started trickling in. The following morning breakfast was much more organised. The football team was still there but there was enough food for everyone. There was a good selection and the presentation was good as well. Other than this, we really enjoyed our stay here.

It was fine. When we arrived there was no cot for the baby, despite asking for one on the booking, but they did eventually get one for us.
It’s a 5 min drive to the tram stop then a 20 min tram journey into the centre. There is free parking at the tram stop, but if you didn’t have a car you’d be stuck because there is absolutely nothing else around. Or you’d have to pay for a taxi to the tram stop each way.
Breakfast was good and the staff were nice, apart from when another guests two dogs jumped at our 18 month old and scared the life out of him. The receptionist told my husband it was the toddlers fault despite him not touching the dogs ( they were in front of us in a queue) because he was loud/running around. £70 a night for a family of 4 though so cant complain too much!

Our room was small for Novotel standard and the sofabed had the typical itchy brown blanket (without cover) that I asked the cleaning lady to remove it at once. Air conditioning was working just ok during the hottest week in August but we still had our USB electric fans on all night to keep cool.

Stayed there with kids for one night and it's ok for that. The garden has a ping pong table, badminton rackets and a few other things to keep children from 4yrs plus entertained. The pool has a good size but the bottom was full of sand so not well looked after. Staff are friendly, the carpets are old, however, the rooms were otherwise clean, the bathrooms clean and modern, the breakfast buffet was good. Perfectly ok for a short stay.

Refurbishment badly needed.

I have stayed here about 4 times a year for a number of years but I think it is now time to look elsewhere. The last three visits we have been given increasingly poor rooms so it seems that repeat custom is not encouraged, even though I am a member. This time the room was dirty, the bathroom awful, the water pressure in the shower just about got to my toes at certain angles, filthy carpets...etc etc. Avoid the 3rd floor. Breakfast at €20 is a joke; its ok but worth no more than €10; but increasingly rooms options are offered without breakfast so a nice little earner for them. So instead of calling them direct as I used to I have to go through websites which is ridiculous. Its a shame because it was a good hotel, staff are still great but clearly Novotel's lack of investment is now showing very clearly.

Small, Cramped, Cigarette Smell

We knew it was a budget hotel, but it was not on par with other budget hotels we stayed in during our trip. It was exceptionally small, cramped, bunk bed (watch your heads standing up at night to go to the bathroom), and strong cigarette smell (despite asking for non-smoking). However, will say that despite being VERY small, their bathroom was surprisingly easy to use.

The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was a good size but the condition was getting a little tired, and the children's beds were very uncomfortable, although the manager did say they were due a refit and new beds soon.

The hotel is located in an industrial area. So you need to head into Antwerp to seek the delights of food, shopping and sightseeing. Nevertheless for our family it was about a quiet Christmas break which the hotel provided. I wouldn't hesitate booking it for another stay. The TV had very few English channels and quality of reception was poor for these particular channels.

well...put it this way never again,

We came by car from the UK and stayed for 2 nights, the room they gave us on the first night was clean, bathroom nice , but the room was not good,the reason is the air conditioning unit could not be shut down,there was no button to turn it off !!...
it was on all night, not only it was cold, but it was noisy also, thanks God there was extra blankets in the room, and in the morning when I queried it, they told me it was impossible to change, as the hotel was built this way,
anyway they gave me another room in the second floor , that minimized this effect and was much better, but my question, is who build rooms that is impossible to close the air conditioning unit at night, this is beyond me, anyway.... there is more ,

on the second day , when we went to the breakfast room , they run out of food, and it was only 9 in the morning, the breakfast lady apologized saying they had over 300 people , and there was very little left,
when I complained to reception ,they told us, as we booked through the Venere website we could not get our breakfast money back, but gave us chocolates instead,

so we had chocolates for Breakfast ....
€ 40 euros of breakfast money went down the drain, And this is the Novotel, not any random little hotel, for a minute I thought This is candid camera , ask me , shall I use this hotel again, ?.. ...

If the manager of this hotel is reading this, right now, I expect and apology and my €40 euros back,

Good value for money if you have a car

Nothing fancy but it has a large room with a sofa and free parking. Its a 15 min drive to the centre. The hotel has a nice bar and restaurant.

Nice hotel in a business area. The breakfast is excellent with the ability to make your own waffles. It is a little way out from everything but is good for a stopover.

Overnight stay in Belgium on route to Germany.

This hotel is absolutely perfect for our needs. Good location near motorway, clean renovated rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast, everything we needed.

Horrible. The photos you show on your web site are 100 % opposite from reality. Would you like to send them? Let me know your addres and I'll send them. The wifi was not working, there is no refridgerator in the room. The bathroom is almost 70 years old, the door broken with wholes, the balcony dirty with cigarette butts. The worst thing is mr Maui, the manager on duty, who is laughing in your face saying, I am sorry, wifi is sometimes working an sometimes not. I cannot do anything about it. He puts all the blame to hotels.com as they are misLeading the clients with showing different pictures from reality. When I asked him if he knew the Frankfurt table, he offered us an icecream ... For this money, we have stayed in Hilton Nurnberg and the difference is one million milles.
