The room was very basic. No fridge, no safe. No complementary water. Had to ask for English tea bags and milk each day as these weren’t provided either.
However the bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean.
The breakfast was quite basic considering the cost. Only choice of white bread/toast no brown bread. Restaurant & bar staff friendly.
Conveniently located for airport but a 40 minute walk/tram ride into central Düsseldorf.

A good stay at the Mercure Dusseldorf City Nord. Quick check in, clean and comfortable room. It's a bit outside of anything, but only a 5 minute walk to tram stop where you can get to most places.
Helpful and friendly staff, although I advise you not to get to breakfast too late, as it's a strict stop at 10.30.

It’s a fine hotel for a short stay, but quite overpriced for the size of the rooms. The rooms are quite small but comfortable. The hotel is a short taxi ride away from the airport (7/8mins) and around 15mins to the old town area.

Stayed at this hotel for a business trip for two nights. Overall the hotel was of a very good standard (I found a stray sock behind the television!). The restaurant food was excellent and the staff very pleasant and helpful. Would stay again.
A tip if you are getting a taxi to the hotel - make sure the taxi driver knows exactly which Mercure Hotel you are staying in. I gave the instruction to take us to Mercure City Nord and the taxi went to a different Mercure and insisted that I had given the wrong information and seemed quite annoyed. However, I showed him my Expedia booking on my phone which clearly states \"Mercure Hotel Dusseldorf City Nord and he relented slightly!

Enjoyable stay

Wanted a hotel handy for driving yet close to city centre so this was ideal choice for us (we had two long trips planned). We stayed for a week.

Quick drive from the airport and easy check-in with very helpful and friendly receptionist. We ate in the hotel several times and found the bar and restaurant staff also very friendly with excellent service. All of the staff we met spoke both German and English. We enjoyed the food and there was a good choice of menu options. The room was really clean and the air conditioning was great. Daily visits from housekeeping and towels replaced on request to save unnecessary changes.

From the hotel we were on the motorway network within a couple of minutes and had day trips to Cologne, Dortmund and Aachen which were all within easy reach by car. Dusseldorf itself was also great - lots to see and amazing shopping centre. Found parking easy in the city centre but hotel is also close to a tram stop which takes you straight into the city.

We plan to revisit Dusseldorf in the future and would definitely return to this hotel

This was a great stay not too far from downtown area. Room was good, staff was good as well. Not really a view as we were on the 2nd floor. I got what I expected. I would recommend this hotel if you are coming on fair. price was ok if yu compare it to other hotels but it was stoll \"Fair\" price. Close to fair and not so far from city center but in general prices for drinks and food are just too high. I suppose it is Germany. Wi fi was somethimes slow and hard to register but at least it was for free.

i was there from for 10 days. i would expect from a 4 stars hotel to have at least a mini bar and a closet to put my clothes in. the worst part was that the bed sheets weren't replaced for 4-5 days. they just came inside and rearranged the bed sheets. no replacement, no cleaning of the carpet, trash etc. the room quality was modern and cool but not more than that. i'd rather add a little more and get a better place. cheers :)

Autumn 2015 (Oct ) review on a two day business tr

Stayed two nights for a business trip. Hotel Rooms were clean, and staff at reception was very cordial and helpful and so five stars. Restaurant was busy and staff appeared a bit overworked and so took time to serve me a simple meal, but they were kind and mildly apologetic too for delay. The information material for phone extention to contact reception and room service where not great as the phone was not picked up despute repeated attempts and they could do with a bit more detailed and clear explanation, esp for Non German speaking people.Bathroom were nice and very clean and room service people seems to do an excellent cleaning job. I did not use the TV and the free Wifi provided, though not great on bandwidth, but was reasonably good, so not much complaints. There is no iron box in the room, so one had to go down to first floor to the common room to get ironed, which was inconvenient. Two nights stay including brweak fast and dinner (£250 + £50) cost around £300/-, which I thought was on the high side for such a mid week business trip, perhaps dictated by the demand of the week. Train station (S Bahn) is about a km away, which in the rain, was incobenient, neverthless overall taxi connectivity and road access was pretty good. Overall,I would still give 4 star.

Very good hotel for a city break or business. 2 stops by S-bahn from the airport and 10 minutes by tram from the city centre. We were offered a 2 for 1 deal for breakfast on arrival. Probably weekends only. The room was modern and well equipped. There was no fridge but the barman was quite happy to supply us with bags of ice. There are few restaurants nearby but public transport is frequent, inexpensive and easily accessible.

The neighborhood is shady. We did not feel safe walking after dark. The room was clean, but the beds were extremely uncomfortable. I woke up with a bad back each morning. The breakfast buffet was 19 Euro a person, which we did not want to spend. Transportation within walking distance. Don't think I would stay at this hotel again. Difficult to get to from the airport.

Ideal location from the airport but that made it a fair way into the city for the other things we wanted to do, so if you are staying more than 2 days this can be expensive on taxi/tram etc. the meals were nice although a little pricey as were the drinks, but the hotel was clean and comfortable so we did expect to pay that little extra for the add on's. nice that they have a locked luggage area for those on a night flight, and taxi's were to hand all the time for trips to the city. rooms could be a bit bigger but they obviously cater for the business traveller staying the odd night rather than the touristy type staying longer. altogether for what we paid it was fine.

Business stay dissapointment

Location was somewhat close to the airport, but not the easist place to get to. On a very busy street which was difficult to enter with a car. Hotel conditon was OK but showed wear. We ate in the bar and found it to be extremely slow, even by European standards. We had burgers and it took 3 hours to get out. Room rate was excessively high considering that the room was really small and old. Previously in the week spent time in the Maritim at the airport which was cheaper and much, much bigger and nicer.

The Mercure Nord is a decent hotel for a one-night stay. Rooms feature most amenities expected, yet in a smaller scale. Our king room was very tiny, barely suitable for 2 adults. We were unable open our suitcases properly without being ineach others way. The king bed did not appear king and had a rubbery mattress. As said, one night stay may be ok but long-term visitors beware of claustrophobia.
Front office staff were very helpful and efficient, bar and restaurant service was very good. The breakfast buffet was excellent for an all- inclusive. The location is good, depending what you expect.

This is not a 4 star hotel

I stayed at Mercure Hotel from 24/08 to 26/08. I was disappointed with the hotel facilities, because I was expected a 4 star hotel to have free WiFi to all areas, including rooms. Instead of this, I was suprised to see that there was only one computer in the common area. It was also inadmissible that there wasn't a free service for pick up and drop from and to the airport. Also, it was unacceptable that I have to pay 10 Euros for an adaptor in a 4 star hotel. I have traveled to many countries and I have stayed to 3, 4 and 5 star hotels and I have never faced those issues. The majority of staff were quite friendly except of one lady, who seemed quite unhappy to serve us. Beside the negatives, the room and the bathroom were quite comfortable and clean. Another advantage is that the hotel is located 5mins walk from the nearest tram station and it is only 10 mins from the town centre.

The hotel and hotel room were great! It was clean and the room itself was a very good size. There was a charge for wifi. There was a business computer in the lobby to use for free, but the computer is super laggy and sluggish. If you want to go to downtown area to go out for dinner or night life, you will need to take a 10min or so taxi ride. The hotel is also about 10-15min cab ride away from the DUS airport. The area itself where the hotel is located is really quiet. The shower and sink had great water pressure. The staff were very professional and spoke English.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. It is close to the tram network/bus routes and main train line to the airport. You can get to the centre of Dusseldorf in 10 mins The staff are very helpful and speak perfect English ( my german is not to good ), The bedroom was of good size with all mod -cons.My only negitive point about the hotel is that you must pay for wi-fi. Although it is free at the receiption area. We will use this hotel again

This Hotel was very clean and had decent sized rooms. The staff were helpfull and spoke good English as well. The rooms were what I would expect for the money the only problem was that they got very hot at night and opening a window meant you get a lot of street noise from a main road outside, but this was only a small problem.

It is in a good location with transport links to the city centre within walking distance. There are a few good restaurants around the hotel area and a supermarket just around the corner. I would stop here again if visiting again.

This hotel is well maintained, clean and has an excellent helpful staff. The bar stocks a good range of drinks. Breakfast is overpriced and parking is overpriced - the nearest on-street parking is about half a mile away. For getting in to central Dusseldorf, the nearby tram is five minutes and will take you into the centre within 30 minutes, and a bargain, much cheaper than driving and parking.

Loved everything about this hotel, except (fairly big except) both of us had a big problem getting to sleep - we were there two nights - no real idea why - wasn't the matress, think maybe it was the bedding, which seemed to bounce body heat back. People who are used to poly-filled pillows/duvets shouldn't have any problem.

I would really recommend staying here, the hotel staff are very friendly, the rooms are very nice and comfy and overall a really good exeperience. The only things I would say is breakfast prices I thought was a little steep. It is about 10 euro's in a cab to the Aldstat and about 20 euro's to the aiport so as far as most hotels go, is well located. Good selection of beers at the bar too, which is always handy whilst waiting for people to get changed!

In my experience and considering the hotels you can stay around Europe, this hotel exceeded my expectations.
The breakfast buffet (which was not included) is worth what you are paying for. It is not a normal European breakfast.
Everything worked fine.
A train station two blocks away and around 4 stops from the old donwtown.
Definetly I will stay there again.
