A Gem in Paris

Was very wary after reading the negative comments but the hotel was fabulous, so close to the metro so was easy to get to everything and never had any issues, yes the area is a bit run down but never had any issues with the locals or anyone else.
The staff were brilliant and helpful, I would definitely return.

The staff was really really friendly. Everyone had smiles and greeted us every time they seen us. Help with anything we needed. The room was nice and spacious. The bathroom and shower was slightly small. The only negative I can say is the there was no usb plug in the room, which I had in the other novetel hotels I've been in

I’m usually not the one to complain, but this here hotel takes the cake. The AC did not work and the room was like a sauna. The bathroom door had a big hole in it, so forget about privacy. The whole floor was smelling of some old food. And this was not a cheap hotel!! Outside the rats were so many you’d think they were shooting a sequel to Ratatouie. As a cherry on the top, they scammed us with a cab that were 80 euros for 20 min ride to the airport (the driver was texting the whole way). Our friends took the same trip for 45 euros.

Parking is not free for hotel guests. The exterior of the hotel is quite dirty and noisy. The rooms are rather basic considering the high price.

Hotel staff are generally rude at reception. The fire alarm went and no body knew what went wrong and no apologies at all. The property had no air conditioning. Area around the property is quite shady and doesn’t feel safe at night. Do not feel is worth the money.

My family and i stayed here for two nights. The room was surprisingly spacious with quite a large shower/bathroom. It was clean, had a fridge and microwave and surprisingly (again) really comfy beds....all in all, as a place to base ourselves whilst visiting Paris...excellent!

Was about 20 minutes from the airport. Area looked very scary and out of the way with a market across the road in large car park and walking through there at night time had lots of rodents which thankfully were not seen in the hotel. Hotel tried to take a security deposit without notification from my card despite opting for pay at property which was stopped by my bank.
although we checked in online we still had to wait in line to receive room key and then pay deposit on arrival. rom only had 3 towels although booked for 4 guests but was quickly resolved. Refreshments such as soups and drinks were available to purchase when kitchen was closed was €5 for a fanta.

room was spacious enough for 4 and room had kettle and coffee maker but paper cups and not enough milk and sugar for more than 2 people. bottle of water was supplied. curtain divider in room was good. lifts were could comfortably fit 4 people and they were both working and quick. Metro was about a 10 minute walk which was surrounded by shops and restaurants. There is a large Supermarket within walking distance inside a shopping centre but the other shops in there looked abandoned. Wasn't the worst place to stay.

The hotel itself is okay, but the location and surroundings are terrible—unsafe and unpleasant-smelling. We have two kids with us, and it did not feel safe. There are homeless people everywhere, especially by the metro station. Metro station about 10 minutes walk. Across from the hotel, there is a parking lot full of old, parked cars where people live.

Hotel was fine and pretty much what you would expect from the chain however it is in a dodgy looking part of Paris and not really where i wanted to spend a lot of time
We had no issues it was just a feeling at night when we were returning at night as we had to walk through some quiet, dark, rundown areas to get back to the hotel.
The hotel has all the facilities you'd expect and was comfortable enough. Our room was huge which was a welcome bonus.

The hotel it’s self was average and okay, but the area around it was a bit sketchy. We went out to find something to eat and due to the homeless laying around and people of concern wondering around, we ended up returning to the hotel and ordering in. We did not feel safe walking down the street suggested by the hotel staff to find food, which not much was open and/or were serving food at the time anyways.

Terrible Breakfast!

The bed was SO uncomfortable,hurt my back! I would like to complain about breakfast, I am so so unhappy about it and so angry to be honest, there was no eggs while we were there, and my son is celiac (gluten Free) so he could only have egg and beans! So it was so frustrating for us. It was a terrible stay and I would never come back to any of the Novotel Hotels. Also some of the staff were rude.

My husband and I stayed 4 night. We had an excellent experience. The room was large and could sleep 4. The staff extremely helpful providing explanations on how to get to the city in metro. Since it is located in a suburbs it takes about to 20-25 minutes in metro to most important monuments. The surrounding is quite dirty so we tried to arrive at night no later than 9:30 pm. We always had breast the hotel since we didn’t like restaurants around. We always had dinner in the city.

What an experience….

So before you book you need to take note that:-

They don’t mention the parking charges when you book online (we booked through hotels.com) if you bring your own car it is €18 per day on top of your stay. You have no option as you wouldn’t risk leaving your car outside.

You will pay tourist tax but this should be noted on your booking so this won’t be a shock.

There is also a €50 damage waiver you have to pay (they pre charge your account on check in for this amount) on top of your booking price. Our room when we got in had a faulty bath, which to be fair to them, we reported it and they changed our rooms. I was worried that I had not mentioned this then we would have been billed.

Drinks prices are around €8.50 a pint and €5 for a basic can of coke so it is worth bringing yourself.

There is a very large supermarket next door for supplies.

The rooms themselves aren’t too bad with a kitchenette and a bath and shower in the room. If you have a fire stick for English tv, these are compatible with the tv’s. The Wi-Fi is free which is also a bonus.

The metro is a 10 min walk away which makes travelling around Paris rather easy.

We had a bit of a drama with booking through hotels.com and they were extremely useless when we had a drama but eventually managed to sort it after going through so many different advisors.

I personally won’t be booking this place again or booking through hotels.com.

We had no hot water day 2, day 3 of our stay. We had to call the reception on both days to get it fix. Day 2 they send a technician after 30 minutes and day 3 the technician did not even come.
Besides, the walk from the nearest metro station to the hotel is terrible. The area is dirty with smell of piss. You feel unsafe walking to the station.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Hotel room was perfect for what we needed with lots of room. Good breakfast buffet. Really close to grocery store and close to Metro station (very convenient). Surrounding community is not high end and market across the street (Saturday-Monday) was very busy and somewhat concerning to navigate around/through. Only small concern with the actual hotel was the slow drain in the shower, but this did not affect our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Good room for an overnight stay. Toilet separate to main bathroom and tiny! Think airplane toilet size and you're not far wrong. Bathroom good with separate bath & shower cubicle, and good quality towels and toiletries provided. Nespresso coffee machine, hot drinks and water provided in room, as well as a fridge and microwave.

Close proximity to the Metro and supermarket for snacks etc. Handy as filled up the fridge in the room with bottled water and a few snacks for the children.

Breakfast was a good choice but not a lot of space/tables so avoid busy times.

We arrived at Robespierre Metro and walked to the hotel, and none of us felt comfortable doing so. There were a lot of characters milling around and watching our every move which put us on edge. However, the following day we headed in the opposite direction to Porte du Montriuel Metro and felt a lot more comfortable. There was a market opposite the hotel on the day we arrived and the streets were strewn with rubbish. This had been cleared up by the following morning though, which wasn't market day, but it did make the area look unnecessarily dirty on arrival.

The hotel felt safe and secure, with a bell to ring to enter, and card activated lifts to the rooms. Free safety deposit box in the room too.

Good value for what we paid for it, and 20-25 min Metro ride into the City Centre.

We really liked our stay at this hotel - the facilities were good and the room was a good size for 2 adults and 2 small children. The dividing curtain was a god send for being able to get the children to sleep in the evening. Our only negative for this hotel was the area is not particularly nice or family friendly, that said, it is a 5 min walk to the Metro and is super easy to get to central Paris and there is a Carrfour a few mins walk away.

Dette er et supert sted å bo dersom du skal bli i Paris en stund. Rommene er store og har både stue, stort bad med dusj og badekar, kjøleskap, mikrobølgeovn, nespressomaskin og te/kjeks. Tv, sofa of spisebord er det også. De er litt aggressive på vaskingen og åpner gjerne døra selv om du roper og sier nei takk, noe som var litt ekkelt da jeg lå i senga langt borte fra ytterdøra. De vasker også veldig tidlig på dagen så jeg lå ofte og sov da de låste seg inn for å vaske. Pass på å henge \"ikke forstyrr\" lappen på døra så slipper du dette. Generelt var personale veldig fine folk som ønsket å hjelpe til, men noen av de snakket ikke så godt engelsk så de forstod ikke hva jeg spurte om og det ble litt kleint å måtte spørre om ting. Frokosten var helt ok, men det var veldig mye kaker og søte ting og lite for de som ikke liker en søt frokost. De hadde ost og egg som man måtte koke selv. Dette tok lang tid og ofte opplevde jeg at andre bare tok egget mitt fordi det stod uvoktet.

Lovely and clean hotel. Room 608 very quiet and view for the garden. My and my 9yrs son really enjoyed breakfast. Only 2 min walk from bus stop and about 10 min to metro where you can get strait away to the Eiffel Tower within 28 min. Lovely English speaking personel. Also didn’t feel any danger as someone mention in previous review. One thing could be better- bottle of water in the room, should be 1 bottle for each person not one 500ml bottle sharing between 2 or 3 people.

I loved the family room and the microwave provided. It was really useful to me especially as I have 2 kids who are picky eaters. The staff were so kind, friendly and polite. They had little gifts for the kids on check-in which was a welcome surprise. Overall I was so pleased with this hotel, I have raving to friends about it. The breakfast could be better though but overall for service and facilities I would give it an ‘excellent’ rating.

The cleaning/ room services and front-desk were really good and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable, and kept very clean daily. The only snag is that the the amenities, such as the dining area, and the gym are quite small in size, and can feel a bit claustered and claustophobic. All in all, it was a pleasant hotel experience.

I like the separate iron room, housekeepers were really cooperative.
Rooms were really cleaned and housekeepers were changed daily bedsheets, cleaned toilets
Just concerned about parking and breakfast as we paid extra , Eggs were not proper boiled. Cakes varieties very less.
They are really good family inter -connecting rooms as we not worried about children a much.

Bad weekend in Paris

Novotel Suites Montreuil could do with retraining their reception staff on customer service. Instead of standing and arguing with paying customers they could actually for once listen to customers concerns and try and address the issues. There is no uniforms for staff you could easily assume they are fellow guests. I usually recommend this hotel to every one of my friends and family but after the latest debacle at this hotel I WILL neither be returning to this hotel nor will I be recommending it to anyone else. Air conditioning is still not working despite them saying it was getting\"fixed\" 3 long years ago beds are no longer as comfortable as they were few years ago all in all very bad value for money

The room we stayed in was spacious and the staff were great! The area was a little rough, but the hotel itself was safe, clean, and exceeded expectations. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in Paris!

Spacious & clean but not very cool

The area is not that great but the rooms were very spacious & clean. The air conditioner was only slightly cool, just one step above a fan. The staff was very friendly & helpful.

Booked this hotel for our 3 day visit to Paris. Rached the hotel via overnight international flight at 1:30pm. Staff couldnt check us in as the check-in time was 2pm. We waited in lobby and asked at 2pm. The room, which was supposed to be ready at 2pm, was not ready Waited further in lobby with tired family and luggage. 1 hr and 3 reminders later we were given room keys. Saw other guests in same condition! The check-in staff was as slow and indifferent as they could be. Room itself was clean, tidy. Like most hotels in EU, very tight spacewise, but we knew that going in. Our room cost included breakfast. Breakfast was good. RER station, shopping mall, restaurants within walking distance. A day before checkout when we came back to hotel at 10pm after a long day tour of Paris, our room keys didn't work. Checked with front desk. Slow staff and a particularly rude and incompetent girl made us wait 15 min. Later another staff member said room keys didnt work as I had to pay city tax. I had no problem paying city tax, but the mis-communication within check-in staff was frustrating. We were made to wait after a long day tour to get in room for which we had paid quite some euros. The gentlemen apologized repeatedly, but this wasn't a good experience. On top of all this, our room window, which is at ground level was left open by cleaning staff with all our luggage inside and we being out all day....Hotel itself is nice but the incompetent rude staff made it a miserable experience....
