The breakfast and kitchen staff were excellent. We found the receptionists helpful. House keeping was good (you had to request a clean though).

Room facilities were poor. The mattress was very uncomfortable. We had to request for additional pillows.

We got a shock that there was no complimentary tea/coffee or kettle in the room. This was a first in our travels all over the world. We had to request an iron/ironing board as well.

Nowhere have we been that there was a charge for use of the gym (6 euro per visit).

This property is not really for tourists but for those attending conferences and seminars in the locality. Room facilities are minimal. High point is the excellent breakfast. it is not convenient if arriving from Berlin Airport - either a very expensive taxi ride or a long, one and a half hour, trek across Berlin.

We booked this hotel because my son was a guest speaker. It is a university hotel near the Frei University. This is a good hotel if you want to visit the Dalem Area. Berlin center is about 35-45 minutes away by either UBahn or Taxi. Hotel room was nice, and staff helpful and friendly.

The hotel and room itself was OK and functional which is all I was looking for. But while checking in at 2:15pm (usual check-in time is 3:00) I was asked to pay 15 euros if I wanted access to my room. The hotel was empty, my room was clean and ready. I was so turned off by this that this will be my first and last visit to this hotel.

I loved this place: clean, functional, pleasant, modern, with a great breakfast and great service. Being across the street from Freie Uni is a bonus: if being close to the university matters, this is an excellent place to stay! I loved it and would happily stay there again.

This is a modern and architecturally pleasing facility with most amenities. Our room had all the necessities. The Breakfast buffet is excellent with many options for vegetarians. The only thing that was listed on expedia and is not present, is laundry, neither laundry service nor facilities on site. Finding a coin laundry was troublesome, but solvable. We did not experience the cooling problems reported by others since our trip was in October.
The parking garage underneath is convenient, yet pricey.
Being located in the southwest part of Berlin, we chose it by location, but we will be happy to return there on future trips.

The hotel was in an excellent location, very close to Dahlem Dorf U-Bahn station. The room was comfortable, and there was a wide range of pubs and restaurants to visit nearby. I also enjoyed the food at breakfast! Overall, a very pleasant stay!

I've always enjoyed my stay during the Berlin Marathon weekend! It's probably one of the best hotels I've stayed in Berlin. I really enjoy the location of the hotel because it's very quiet and peaceful. I also enjoyed the restaurants which are walking distance from the hotel. I'd definitely stay here again in the future!

Nice hotel in the quiet and green area. Hotel is orientated into backside area so receptions is on a first floor facing courtyard and you need to use elevator to access reception if you are arriving on the front entrance from the street.
Side street mean that there is no taxi passing and it is difficult to get one but Uber is one solution and walk able (couple of hundred meters) nearby S-Bahn station can help.

What is really disappointing is that the room was not equipped with any amenities, There is no toothbrush or comb or any of usual items and the sink look quite empty without anything on it. Furthermore there is only one towel for face, one for hand and one rather small towel for body. Even if it is two person King Size bed room I am lucky I traveled alone otherwise we will need to fight for a towel.
Even there is a small refrigerator in the room, it is empty and if you would like some snack or drink you will need to go to the ground floor where is vending machine located to buy your snack.

Look like hotel is oriented mostly on the nearby conference center and young visitors and not on a business travelers.

This "low-cost" nightmare need to stop and if you charge full price for the room at least provide enough towels or you expecting that we bring our own?

Despite having a confirmed reservation, I arrived at the Seminaris after travelling for 16 hours from CA, had to wait about 30 min for them to service 2 customers in front of me, only to be told there was no room available as they'd overbooked. I was shunted over to the Steglitz International for 4 of 5 days (where there was no hot water most days and had to take cold showers, WiFi that was either absent or barely functional so I couldn't work, breakfast staff who serve everybody else coffee but not you, no soap in the shower dispensers causing one to run out to the sink for a handful mid-shower, and conflicting information in the room guides about when breakfast was actually served), then I had to check out of there before a day trip to Hannover (carrying my luggage there and back to Berlin) as I was put back in the Seminaris that Fri. All in all, just piss-poor.

Nice location next to university and restaurants. Embassies are nearby. Rooms are clean, convenient and light.
Nice shower and a tasty breakfast is included. Only issue is that the walls are a bit thin. I could hear my neighbor's tv.

Modern hotel adjacent to Frei university campus. Some common areas are a bit stark, but quiet and comfortable overall. Breakfast well above average. My main complaint is that because of yhe translucent glass wall in the bathroom, turning on the bathroom light makes the whole room bright. This would not be an issue for solo travelers. There is one museum in the area but otherwise little of interest. There are a few good restaurants within a few minutes walk, plus bus and U-bahn stops nearby.

Typical business hotel not ideal for family. Breakfast was normal without much variety of dishes. 2 days same breakfast, could have done better to add menu variations for not-a-budget hotel. They asked to hang a cloth pouch outside room so we can have some free points/ drinks, but we checked-out of hotel and no one mentioned anything about it. Staff seems lost during English conversations.
No near by public transport, missed this point while booking.

Thoroughly enjoyed the location. Quiet. Hotel in nice condition. Breakfast is delicious. Service at breakfast spectacular. Hotel room bathroom was a bit skeavy. Looks like the shower is just sprayed, not scrubbed. Mold on caulk. I would have brought shower shoes. Grout is dirty. Carpet had some newer stains, also skeavy. Other than those three things, stay was nice.

Very convenient location!

The hotel is very conveniently located in the center of Dahlem Dorf. It's about a two-minute walk to the U-Bahn public transportation, plus there are restaurants, cafes, a pharmacy, book shop, ice cream shop, and supermarket all within a 1-minute walk. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful when our missing luggage was supposed to be delivered to the hotel.
**The only thing that was an issue for us was the fact that we specifically chose this hotel because it advertised as having a "gluten-free breakfast", which was important for one of our party members who has extreme celiac disease. The only thing that they could offer without the possibility of cross-contamination was a boiled egg and frozen bread, which they suggested we should toast (in a toaster that was cross-contaminated by previously toasted non-gluten-free bread). We spoke to several breakfast servers, but no one could help us further. We weren't allowed to speak with the head chef ourselves, and the breakfast staff made it clear that we were a bother to them when they had to call and ask if a certain item was gluten free or not. The Seminaris Campus Hotel should probably not advertise their breakfast as having "gluten free" options!

Although outside of central Berlin, it is quiet, new, excellent facilities, including breakfast, and near a U station with frequent easy, cheap access to Berlin and airport. Free wifi. Several good restaurants nearby. The Die Breite art gallery- unique- walking distance.

Wow. After hotel hopping for three plus weeks in Munich and Berlin, I can definitely say this was my best experience. And the value is off-the-charts! While the hotel is well outside of the Berlin city center, it's right next to the train station and a 10-minute ride to Wittenburgplatz on the west side. I had to leave after three nights for Prague, but I--literally--tried to change my travel plans so I could stay here across the weekend. I haven't had this experience with a single hotel in central/eastern Europe during my four months of travel.

The wifi is business-grade which is important to me as a business traveler. After four horrible wifi weeks in Germany and Czech Republic, I was very happy to have this hotel's high quality wifi for a couple of days.

Oh, and the free breakfast is great. It's a huge upgrade from the usual 'continental breakfast' at most hotels.

Comfortable walk to Botanical Gardens, friendly staff, great breakfast. Single "odd" note was the gender-stereotypical images in the hotel's elevator area. Men portrayed as decision makers, in command, thoughtful; women not so -- odd to see this day and age. Would stay here again, and would recommend others to do so.

Excellent choice. The hotel is a modern functional building, still in brand-new conditions. Free WiFi and Sauna, very good breakfast selection. The room was somewhat small, but this was compensated by a larger than usual shower.
I was disappointed by the quality of my dinner at the restaurant. Service was overall on par with the price they charge, but the food was most definitely not. It did look, however, more like an isolated accident.
In gauging the price, account for ~12EUR/day for parking, if you want to use the hotel park house. Street parking seemed easy, though.

Attractive hotel, but not comfortable!

The pillows were flat and lacked down filling, bed was hard, comforter too warm, room controls did not seem to actually change the temperature, rooms had no coffee makers, staff would not allow guests to take a carafe of coffee to room during breakfast, coffee cups were the size of thimbles, and the wireless, which guests were charged a fee to access, had such a weak signal it was virtually impossible to use.

Seminaris is quite an expensive place catering for visitors to the university, various research institutions in the area or businesses. The rooms are rather small. The conveniences provided are at bare minimum allowed for the hotel rating. For example there are practically no toiletries provided, no tea or coffee facilities in the room, no iron, etc. - all are supposed to be available on request but not turning up. The rooms have outer glass walls with small windows, which do not let in enough fresh air to ventilate or cool the room, while air conditioner does not quite cope. Fortunately, the weather was not too hot when I stayed, but even then it was very difficult to sleep. The bedding includes only very soft, flimsy pillows, which do not give any support, neither for reading nor sleeping. The duvets are way too warm for the summer time. When asked the staff were not able to offer any alternative. The cooked food at the restaurant is beyond pale. It was arriving all the time just luke warm, tasteless, or tasting horribly, with very few occasional exceptions. Even though there are a few nice restaurants in the area, when time is short and no alternatives, it is an awful experience.

Generally great but problems with my medicine

Generally this was a great hotel. However, it was spoiled just as I was leaving. I had asked (in advance) that some medicine was stored by the staff in their refrigerator. However, upon leaving it turned out that my medicine had been stored in the freezer accident! this caused considerable inconvenience and costs during my subsequent travels. Please be aware that if travelling with medicine, check beforehand if the hotel insurance covers the costs of replacing medicines that are being stored for guests.

Service & breakfast were very good. The room was clean & spacious & the air conditioning worked very well. Convenient location w/ many local restaurants & U-Bahn within walking distance. Parking is a little expensive, but it's secure & covered. If there were any negatives it would have to be the shower soap they provided was poor, so I walked to the store & bought my own. We'd stay there again w/o question.

We had to stay a night for a business trip. Room was clean good condition. Got the non-allergic pillows as requested (thank you!) and a non-smoking room. The hotel has a peculiar design, open metal staircases, glass, very modern - feels a little bit like a flight hangar. However, everything was very clean and in great working condition, staff was friendly, bar/lounge was nice, breakfast had a good variety. We didn't sleep too well, though, because we couldn't block the lights that were on all night outside our window, and the toilets flushed extremely loud - we even woke up from next door's flushing.

The hotel, its staff and location were all excellent as I was attending an academic conference in the Free University of Berlin and being able to walk the ten minutes after breakfast to the conference venue was a real plus. I would certainly recommend this hotel and would choose to stay there as a definite preference in the future.

Seminaris Hotel @ Free Univ Berlin

As I was attending a conference at the Free University during much of my week-long stay, the location of this ultramodern hotel worked well. It's close to a U-bahn station and about half an hour from the city center, so if you're spending your whole visit sightseeing then the location makes sense only if you get a good deal and put a lot of value on new, spacious rooms. For summer visits, the air conditioning is effective and the pleasant breakfast can be eaten outside. They gave me a password for free internet access through a University network, but I'm not sure whether everyone gets this.

Comfortable room, with nice bathroom, mini fridge, desk, and comfortable beds. One of the best breakfasts I've had in Europe, with a little bit of everything, and all of it very good.

Very nice neighborhood, in close walking distance to subway station. Right in the middle of the university area, and about 15 minute walk to the Fritz-Haber Institute.

Main complaint is that they charge a ridiculous amount to use the internet, and it doesn't matter if you use your own computer in your room or their computers in the business center. 5 euro for first hour and 1 euro per hour after that, up to 16 euro per day.

Outstanding service and 3 minutes from U-Bahn

Modern and stylish hotel. Spacious bathroom for a European hotel. Breakfast is great and included in the price of the room. Charming location near the Berlin Free University. A three minute walk brings you to the U-Bahn (underground) station which makes the rest of Berlin easily accessible.
Although this hotel has no room service, there is a restaurant on site and a convenience store is located 5 minutes away. The staff spoke English and service was always with a smile.

Tolles Frühstück mit reichhaltiger Auswahl. Leider war das Restaurant sowie die Bar geschlossen-schade. Gute günstige Parkmöglichkeit im Parkhaus des Hotels. Zimmer zweckmässig und sauber. Zwei tolle Restaurants in der Nähe. Freundliches Personal.

Rooms are fine if slowly getting a little old (especially the bathroom. Main negative is the poor and very expensive EV charging that doesn't even allow non-German phones to download the necessary app.

Sehr gutes Frühstück, kompetente und tolle Mitarbeiter. Die Ausstattung lässt etwas nach - keine Wasserflasche mehr auf dem Zimmer, das Duschgel wird immer einfacher. Leider war auch unmöglich, das Peloton-Bike im Fitnessbereich mit dem Internet zu verbinden, weshalb es nicht nutzbar war.

The biggest advantage was that the hotel was quiet at night. The biggest problem was that there are no kettles in the rooms. I've been in hotels without kettles in the past, but they always had at least some communal space *on each floor* where one could prepare a tea or coffee for themselves. In this hotel - none. There is a coffee machine at the reception which has a sticker asking for 3.50 EUR for a coffee. They let me use it for hot water for free, which I did, but it was super inconvenient to have to go down 2 floors just to get some hot water (especially that my room was far from the elevator and stairs, so it was at least 3 minutes down and up), while being carefully observed by the receptionists. Ridiculous.

Dom hade jätte dåligt säng och jätte dåligt kudde inga varm vatten i rummet och dom som ska resa med barnen jag rekommenderar inte absolut finns inga varm vatten och dom hade inga mikro varma natten till barn jätte dåligt hotel ,
