The hotel had a wedding on the day of our stay, which they used as the reason for very poor service and staff rudeness in the Restaurant. No Manager available to assist with over charging, inappropriate comments, cold food and very slow service. Won’t stay there again in the future.

Cold, shabby rooms. No proper wardrobe space. Scratched paintwork and threadbare carpets. Old shabby furniture.

The hotel lounges, bar and reception areas were very cold.

Dinner for 8 guests was a disaster as two meals were served cold. When asked to reheat, and did not return, our 2 guests told them to cancel as the rest of the group had nearly finished eating. The meals came back a good 10 minutes after the rest of the guests had finished, but were taken away again. Our 2 guests decided to go home, clearly and visibly upset and the remaining guests were extremely embarrassed. When we complained we were offered one drink. No meaningful apology. A member of kitchen staff came out and started laughing as though this was a joke. He said he had a wedding party to look after and gave us the impression that other paying guests were not his priority. Conversation between staff and guests got heated with staff now being belligerent resulting in a (allegedly) racist remark directed towards one of our party. We wanted to speak to the GM only to be told she had gone home. The following morning she was still not available. The bill for the whole dinner was charged to one member of the party who they managed to find out their room number. PLUS AN EXTRA DINNER i.e. 9 dinners. She DID NOT AUTHORISE THIS TRANSACTION. She will be escalating this complaint to the highest authority, as this episode was a complete disgrace.

Ive used this hotel for over 20 years when travelling for business in the area. Always a clean room, nice food, drinks and friendly staff. However last night there was a 'group in' and it seemed that no one else really mattered. I asked to book a table for 1 at 19.00 to be told that there was a group in and they couldn't really fit me in. After a 5 hour drive not what i wanted to hear. I was offered the bar to eat which didnt meet my expectations so i pushed back a little and the bookings manager fitted me in at 19.00. I arrived a little early as there was only 2 other people in the restaurant area. I was accommodated immediately. I was told i could have the table until 20.15 which was ample. I was sat on a table where i had to use my phone torch to read the menu.The back ground lighting could do with turning up! Food was as ever excellent if rushed as there were very few other customers using the restaurant. Presumably the decks were cleared waiting for the more important 'group' to arrive. I left the restaurant at 19.45 well ahead of my allotted time. Breakfast was moved to the bar area this morning - a first in 20 years. I believe this was because of the 'group' having use of the restaurant (it was empty at 07.00). Not a problem but it felt less organised for a more meagre selection. Groups will contribute more financially but it should not be at the cost of loyal returning customers. Im here again tonight so look forward to things returning to normal.

Disappointed. Looks like a Village Hotel, but it's not as good. They have tried with the decor, but overall the hotel is tired and needs work. Check-in didn't give me basic information and were more interested in taking a card pre-authorisation. Again room decor is nice, but it's tired - worn carpets, cracked tiling in bathroom and worn furniture, no sockets by bed. Had to leave shower for 10mins to warm up and even then was only lukewarm. Herringbone flooring in bar area all loose and coming up. On the plus side - comfy bed/pillows, quiet, decent food and service. Overall won't be staying again.

Once an upscale option but now a bit tired

I recommended this hotel to colleagues for this business trip as I had stayed there a few years ago just after it was renamed “Mour” and felt like it was a good option in comparison to the others in the area. While the vibe of the hotel remains upscale the interiors no longer match and are in need of refresh. The soft furnishings and sofas in the lobby are tired and unfortunately a cream colour so need a clean and the carpets throughout my floor were threadbare. Thankfully my colleague’s flooring wasn’t as bad as mine and I wonder if I was on the “tradey” floor.

There are no power outlets by the beds which is a convenience I think most are accustomed to. The bathroom, while mostly clean, had soap stains behind the shower gel dispenser that could have been easily wiped away and only a rainfall shower head.

Another disappointing aspect was the hotel’s decision to broadcast GB News as the sole channel in both the lobby and the bar/restaurant. In a hospitality setting, where the aim should be to make all guests feel welcome and comfortable, one would reasonably expect a more neutral or balanced news channel. The management’s choice here suggests that inclusivity, impartiality and ensuring that all guests feel welcome and safe in their eatablishment are not regarded as priorities.

As there are slim pickings in the way of stylish, business hotels in this area I really hope the management has a renovation schedule already in the works because it’s got so much potential.

We had high hopes for this hotel as we are moving to the area but unfortunately were left disappointed. Check-in was clunky & slow despite booking, they couldn’t find it, then had to fill out a form with address & have a physical credit card scanned. Bed was super hard which meant didn’t sleep. Breakfast looked great but coffee so weak it was undrinkable (even a double espresso was watery). We pointed it out & were told it was the machine & not running out of coffee which we thought must be the problem! And the sausages - very processed & not pleasant. And generally not really hot. Overall disappointing. Such a shame as the environment is great - decor very relaxing & enjoyed the ambience. The search continues for a good local place to stay!

My stay was going really well, nice room most of the staff were friendly and helpful, but when checking out I requested a VAT invoice so I can claim the cost back from my employer but was told that’s not possible. Over the years I have stayed in many hotels for work and have never experienced being told I it’s not possible to have a VAT invoice. This hotel has conference rooms so must host companies and corporate guests staying overnight who need to claim expenses.I wasn’t the only guest to be told this by the very unhelpful receptionist. For this reason I will not be staying in this hotel ever again which is a shame as up until that moment it was all going extremely well. Also I would mention that there is a very limited menu so much so that I went out for food.

Needs a full makeover

Hotel is very, very dated. Carpet is threadbare everywhere, furniture in the lobby is dirty and clearly old.
Unusual for a 'modern' hotel, there are no fridges in the rooms. The wardrobe is hidden behind the headboard, as was the tea and coffee facilities. The tiling in the bathroom is an assault on the senses and some tiles were chipped/cracking. Towels were passed their best and there is no option to reuse as they are changed everyday, not very environmentally friendly. The mattress is very hard (my personal preference) however my colleagues could not sleep properly and had similarly feedback for their rooms (tatty and old).
Breakfast was very limited with no non-dairy alternatives. Food in the restaurant is very mediocre and extortionately priced.

I would not recommend staying in this hotel.

It was ok.

This was a last minute thing after another hotel let me down. The app said there was one more room available, which I booked, but on arriving at the property the receptionist informed me that they were full and I should not have been able to book. I was told to wait and they would find me a room. It turned out to be an accessible room so low bed and shower stool in the shower. The room was ok but only 2 power points at the desk, nothing near the bed. The shower was good but the extraction fan in the bathroom was on all the time and the first night it kept me awake most of the night. The hotel itself is ok, loads of ev charge points outside and large parking. Inside, the carpets are threadbare, the sofas are old and worn in the reception and bar area. One of the reasons I booked this hotel was the gym, it had a gym. However, it was only a small room, 1 running machine that needs replacing, 1 rowing machine that slipped constantly so it could not be used. It had some weights and an all in weight machine but because of the way it was crammed into the room only half of it could be used. It was basic to say the least.
Some of the staff were lovely but a couple of the staff I felt were rude and not interested in you as a guest. Prices of food and drink were on par with the area.
Overall, not particularly happy with my stay but it was a last minute thing, I don’t think I will be staying here again, I will do more searching.

Big room, good breakfast, good shower. Bedroom has little hanging space, dark even with lights on, hard corners on bed; easy to knock calves. Bed very hard to sleep on. Shower room on two levels - not great idea. Expensive to have non-moulting dog stay with us (£25). Breakfast staff brilliant. Car parking very good. Mixed feelings about it really; can’t say it represented much better value than stopping at a much cheaper Ibis hotel.

Awful night sleep customer service awful

Awful check in rude staff said my booking canceled when wasnt so took ages get booked in and had no rooms left from what i booked so upgarded to executive after lots huffing and puffing.
Asked if anywhere local walk to pub as been driving all day. Got told a pub but was 1 star and pulled face otherwise drive.
Food and drink very expensive
Room was nice shower good. Dressing gowns worn and looked like needed throwing.

After getting in went to bed the mattress was awful it sunk in middle feet were higher than body. It totally collapsed. We had enough 1am we were moved to last room that bed was same, the bathroom floor tiles were also broke and raised and sharp they could cut ur feet We had max 1-2 hours sleep. Complained at checkout and ask for manager no one was there so asked to contact rang twice and they still not returned call. We work on rd and had little sleep. I was told investigating staff i said i complained out sleep and they can ring me and investigate staff after. How can u investigate without speaking to us. The money for the room is not worth it. The hoel looks lovely but carpets on floors thread bare and lift is dodgy. Looks amazing in bar and reception and 24 hour bar.

On arrival we were met by very unsure reception person. He had a question about breakfast and all his answers were “I’m not sure”. Mattress in the room felt as if its made of bricks. Every time other guests closed the doors in their rooms our rooms door would rattle and it kept waking us up. Overall hotel could do with some tlc.
We ended up not going for breakfast and of visiting Nottingham this won’t be our choice of hotel.

Stylish exterior and safe parking area, and facilities to charge EVs.
Check in with a REAL person on the Desk.
Bar and Grill extremely expensive. I'm sure it's fine for the majority sales people visiting on expenses, but not for the irregular leisure traveller.
Clean rooms with intriguing storage solutions, some with views of Sherwood Forest.
Beds are fantastic if you usually sleep on a brick bed.
But generally pretty nice and 4☆ out of 5.

Had booked for a two night stay in hotel. On arrival thay said i only been booked in for one night. But offerd to charge my reservation.
Room was clean but we found the bed ie mattress so hard & uncomfortable.
It was like sleeping on a hard floor.
In fact i didn't sleep, i ended up sleeping in the chair.
In the morning their was no record of us booking for breakfast.
But after thay had heard of my discomfort with bed arrangement.. Thay very kindly let us have some breakfast. No charge.
The flooring from the bar towards the breakfast area was very loose & cracked under foot. Not very good for a 4 star hotel.
Although thay had been accommodating to a degree. I felt my stort stay very stressful and on edge about my booking.

Check in was awful. Asked to wait for 10-15 minutes as system “wasn’t working” with no apology or empathy from receptionist. Went to bar to get drink, had to pay as couldn’t charge to a room yet. Went back to reception with a queue of people that were being checked in (by someone else) all fine so took about 25-30 mins in all. Still no apology. Think should have come find me when system working?? Bar was all of 10 yards away!
Got to room, and whilst clean, the carpet was threadbare, the same as it was along corridor to room (3rd floor). Room was also quite dark but think that was a “theme”
Went to restaurant for dinner and staff were excellent and food was really good but was overpriced for what it was. See photo (£26) Warning, again dark theme and menu was extremely difficult to read, even waiting staff struggled!

The room was FREEZING, even with the aircon on heat and 28 degrees (its max) it wasn’t sending out any heat. No radiators! Additionally, there were 2 plug sockets in the whole room - with 2 mobiles, watches, laptop etc there isn’t anyway of charging/using all. The check in staff wasn’t that helpful and on checkout I wasn’t even asked how my stay was. Restaurant was nice, food beautiful and the service in the bar was great

The food self service had to wait 5 mins for bacon under cooked and Luke warm like the rest as the food warmer not working Breakfast that bad that today I didn’t have breakfast in the room thread bare carpets in my room boggy sealing in bathroom mould in shower I used to pick this hotel but sadly this is the last time for me
