The hotel needs updating desperately. More than a coat of paint can provide. The curtains have holes. The shower head is as old as the building. The furniture is broken and mismatched. The location is great and the town is wonderful. Phones in room also don’t work. Alley that one needs to walk through to get to entrance smells horribly of pee. Parking on the street is free but can be very tricky to find

The room was sea view but opposite Soccer school. We were woken up every morning from 7.30 by children playing football, blowing horns and banging drums. This went on all day until about 7.30 to 8pm. No siesta.
Check in was fine as we arrived late. The staff member was very helpful. The rest of the staff at this hotel were not friendly at all.
Breakfast was fine but if you didn't arrive early for dinner there was no hot food left. Whether it was replaced after we walked out disgusted I didn't hang about to find out. The rooms were very clean, beds were lovely and comfortable but the room was very tired. Chunks of rendering missing out of the walls. A very low standard 4 star hotel for Melia. I have stayed in many and this was not up to their normal standard. It's a very good job I have another week left in Tenerife South as I would not be rested or relaxed after my 1st 4 days in this hotel.

My recommendation would be to avoid this hotel. We paid for 5 nights and stayed 1. Where do I start; dated, took 5 minutes for shower to heat up, no heated pool, soviet style architecture, breakfast inedible. Claims to be 4*, would be 2* at most in UK.

Great budget hotel in the quieter side of town.

If on a budget the hotel is great. Not the newest or the best, but overall clean, comfortable and located near the beach and in the quieter side of the town. The breakfast is very varied and it is clear that staff is trying to bring something special around the holidays, but the quality is pretty low, so a suggestion would be to lower the variety, while focusing on quality and taste for smaller choice.
Overall, pretty happy woith the stay.

Top marks for cleanliness and smily and friendly cleaners. Can't be said for the waiting staff and receptionists who d rather bury their heads behind the screen and only do greet when they are prompted. There is certainly a bit of work/training to do there. The food is boring and bland with only minor changes each day, next time I would not go half board but just stick with breakfast only. The hotel rooms are a bit dated but still comfortable. Shower is good, beaches and restaurants closeby, parking ok. Our stay with seaview rooms was tarnished because of builing works right outside towards the sea front- the noise commenced at 7/7.30am every morning. All in all a solid 3* which only doesnt get more because of some of the staff which I hope will be addressed soon.

I am staying in hotels 1/3 of my nights and typically don't care about minor flaws, but here they offer a 'four star' accommodation at 260Euro+/n (without breakfast) and what you get is a sparsely furnished single room without even a fridge, coffee maker, toiletries, missing lamps and ages old bathroom installations. As those failed leading to leakage, they made us move to another room, no apologies, no compensation for the inconvenience of having plumbers in your room and having to move all your luggage in the middle of a vacation day. The staff arrogance has stunned us, can't believe they claim a Melia label.

As soon as we walked in after arriving from the airport, our first impression of the reception was already good. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. From some of the reviews we read I expected a horrible room when we opened the door. In fact, it was absolutely gorgeous - even bigger than we expected - clean and lots of cupboards. In some hotels we have stayed, our clothes were piled on a bench in the room as space was minimal. Breakfast was free so we were amazed at the spread available.
The food, on the whole was very good. The staff very friendly. You get free towels for the beach. We have heard free towels for the pool outside but, the beach was new to us.
The location is absolutely fantastic. We walked to the Loro Park, the centre many times and explore the many small streets and area where we were.
The only disadvantage is the beach. Very rocky and huge waves but, one can sun themselves, no problem. What we found dangerous are the rocks that come with every wave. Unless you are very far in the sea, the rocks will hit your legs, arms, thighs. But this is the Atlantic ocean and a volcanic island - mother nature.

This hotel is Super clean they have cleaners constantly working and sweeping mopping. Rooms are bit dated but everything works and is clean. at the end of the day it’s only to sleep in most of the time when I am on holiday I am out of my room exploring what the area has to offer. So can not fault this place and is within 3 mins of the beach bonus.

Didn't enjoy our visit. Put into a terrible room on the first night, dirty, tatty and in great need of decoration and upgrading, put into another much better standard of room the following day but still unhappy so Asked to leave the next morning and we moved to a different hotel without them refunding our unused night or offering to move us to another hotel within the Sol Melia group.

Good location, nice staff, okay breakfast, very clean room.. what else do you need? Not sure if it 4* hotel but I really enjoyed stay there.

It's not a first visit of Sol hotel group and I can say they provide good service constantly

The only negative experience was with bar staff - I asked for Americano instead they put double shot coffee(\"canaria cafe\"?) without water. The server was kinda rude unlike all staff in the hotel. I mean what the point to sell something they weren't asked?

Reception very unhelpful - girl who checked us in - well we were obviously a nuisance - she was chatting away to a maintenance man when we arrived - he went off - she just looked at us and said passports - no welcome or anything! Then she left them while she continued typing away on her pc - nothing to do with checking us in - finally she took them said we can collect them later and gave us key cards and said room *** - no what floor or where the lifts were no info on the hotel - so when I asked about hiring the safe if they had them in the rooms well you would have thought I'd asked her for her blood! Didn't bother them until our second to last day as need them to confirm our pick up the next day - yet again the male receptionist (when he finally came back to service us after just walking off after we asked him ) he just dialled the number and handed me the phone! I could have done it myself! The hotel is very very tired and needs a refurbishment and maybe a change of staff - shame as location is great the breakfast was good but it was like eating in a noisy school canteen - coffee was nice - it was very clean and lovely big soft towels - so although not all bad massive room for improvement here. most of the other guest were German and very nice and friendly and couldn't believe no fridges in the rooms!

Great location. It's next to the ocean and old town of the town. Very easy to get around the town.

Also, if you arrive at Tenerife South Airport, the bus stop at Puerto de la Cruz is 5 min by foot from the hotel.

The entrance is very nice & welcome, also the pool is nice but much more smaller than it looks in the pictures. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The food is not the best, always it was too dry (fries, tortilla, bacon).
I don't recommend the beef stew.
So, I had the standard room, clean enough & tidy but very outdated (see pictures).

To be honest with you there are not 4 stars, maybe 3 stars, but definely not 4.
If you want safe deposit box you have to pay 3€/day extra.

The location is great, Playa Jardin is the closest beach (4 min walk) and is very nice with black sand. Also Loro Park is at 15 min walk from hotel, oposite direction is the Lago Martianez and the old city, same 15 min walk.

Close to all of the things we wanted at good price

The hotel was dated and in need of some maintenance. The desk staff were average and not fully committed. The number of three point plugs in the room for charging of so many items was inadequate and didn't appear to function well.
The food offered was good but on the first evening it was dry and nearly inedible, probably due to the lateness in the day.
Failure to provide hot drinks as part of the evening menu is a big failure as most people I know drink a tea or coffee then. I had to relocate upstairs for this and leave my family

Just overnight here meant it was ok for hotel not to be the best. Room was clean and fairly comfortable but space under balcony door and windows not shutting properly didn't appeal. Food was not the best at all - quite poor really both for dinner and breakfast.

A very good hotel situated mid way between the town center and Loro Parque, on the coast road next to the beach. Plenty of on street parking (Main police station opposite means you can not use you electronic car fob to lock or open your car doors, for security reasons I presume). Booked in on a B&B basis with buffet dinner at only €10 per head. Plenty of food to choose from on the buffet or you could have freshly cooked meats if you wished. Excellent friendly staff throughout the hotel, will definitely stay there on our next visit to Puerto de la Cruz.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, definitely needs some maintenance ie: Shower pressure and very old beds, woke up most mornings in pain untill I put the blankets on the bed to lye on. Other than that I thought there was a good selection of food at breakfast and the pool and surrounding area was beautiful and staff will go out of their way to help of you have a problem.

Needs a bit of upgrading. Breakfast was fantastic! Pool cold but doable. Limited sunbeds. Wifi very unreliable and was down for 4 days. Snacks to purchase limited in choice and burgers were disgusting. Nice walk to main town centre. Close to loro parque and beach. TV in Spanish or German only. No kids facilities if you expected any. A great place to stay if you have low expectations

Was promised a room with a view but our view was one of a car-park. couldn't sleep at night as there was a light in the car-park which shone into our room and it reflected off the mirrors in the wardrobe which were opposite the window which compounded the problem. It would have helped if there were heavy curtains to block out the light, but they were just light organsa or some such material with two strips of other material. I asked the receptionist to print the boarding passes for our return home as the public computer wasn't working and he said he was too busy and to find an internet café. Those two could do with customer relations training.

Initially, we were pleased with the look and location of the hotel. When we went to check in, the gentleman behind the counter wasn't overly helpful and didn't explain why he needed to hold onto our passports. Next we went to our room and again was very pleased, nicely decorated and great sea view. Didn't take long for the maid to knock on the door and move us, against our wishes. She was very forceful and again didn't explain why we were being moved. By this point we were just wanting to get washed up and eat so we reluctantly agreed. The next room on floor 7 wasn't as nicely decorated as the previous, the chairs weren't as comfortable and the bathroom door wouldn't lock. Also, we wanted a room with a double bed but received two single beds pushed together. Putting that aside, the pool is lovely and provided plenty of space for sun beds. The bar staff for the most part were very friendly but we got the feeling that they didn't really like the English. Drink prices were brilliant and initially the food was great, but towards the end of the holiday the taste was bland and repetitive. we wanted to watch TV before bed at night but could only find one English channel, which was CNN and the week was dedicated to the Popes visit to America. All in all the hotel was good for a budget hotel but didn't deserve the 4* rating we were originally expecting.

when you come to puerto de la cruz from two and three stars hotels to a four one, you'd expect something extra, instead we have received a dirty room that we declined and we've been moved to another one same condition. The receptionist sent us to the room (the second one) to have a look knowing he is finishing the shift, and when we came back with ipad pictures and video about the bed sheets and bathroom, someone else was there to attend us. Anyway, we kept the room for that night and first thing in the morning was to cancel it and find another hotel, and we found Apartamentos Casablanca *** that was a better experience and a bigger place and 7-8£ cheaper than the socialist hotel with 4****...
Another funny thing was that the receptionist was pointing to us that we have a sea view :)))) and it's a better room, thing we paid for, but they tried to take it for granted.... Anyway, I don't recommend!!!

A very nice 2 night stay with bed and breakfast. Room was very clean, but needed extra pillows for beds and a small fridge would have been good. Excellent choice of breakfast items (buffet). Reception and staff were good and friendly. Super price paid for an enjoyable time.

Very nice hotel in a good location.

Spent 5 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Booked half board and was very pleased that I did as the food was good (even for a vegetarian!). Staff were friendly and very hard working. Enjoyed the flamenco that was on in the main bar one night.
The main downside was that it was expensive to use the internet. 4 euros an hour for Wi-Fi. 2 euros for 15 mins internet (though 5 euros an hour).

I was disappointed with my reservation as the description on my booking says I would have a minibar and this had been removed from the room. We enjoyed the holiday but the hotel bar was dead and the New Year's eve Party was particularly poor. The walk to town was only 10 minutes and great fun to be had there at night. I wouldn't recommend the halfboard option as I found the food repetitive, especially for breakfast.

The places to visit in Puerto de la Cruz are in short walking distance from hotel.
This choice was perfect for us. If I come to Tenerife next time, I will reserve a room in this hotel again.

Hotel Puerto y Playa best position in Puerto.

The food was very good, wide variety and good quality.The pool was lovely,well maintained and clean. The presence of a lifeguard was appreciated. However, the paved area beside the pool was dirty and could do with a good scrubbing. The whole hotel is in need of redecoration. A room with sea view and balcony is well worth the extra as the hotel situation is excellent.

good value, convenient location

we were pleased that we had opted for half board as we appreciated not having to go out again for an evening meal once returned to the hotel at the end of a busy day walking and sight-seeing. Although not the most exciting food, the buffet style menu provided enough vegetarian choices for us and the breakfast spread was pretty good. Shame no kettle in the room as we missed making a decent cup of tea when we felt like one!
easy to walk around Puerto (but hilly): we liked the various gardens, the seafront walks, and the Footpath walks(leaflet available from the tourist info). the local Titsa bus service is excellent; you can buy a bono bus ticket for 12 euros and use each time you get on the bus; we bused from the airport south to Puerto in the north(much cheaper than a shuttle bus), to Mt Teide and to Garrachico. the bus station is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

Perfect for us

The location was good for us. Close to the bus station and within easy walking distance to the beach. It was a little noisy at times with the soccer field below the seaside of our room but we didn't mind and they stopped by 11 each night. We did half board and the food at the buffet was good quality and I found it to have more choices than other places we have stayed in the same price range. Overall its a great place to stay

The receptionist did not seem pleased to see us which was not a good start. The Hotel is very \"tired\" it needs complete redecoration and our room was very poorly decorated and not too clean. We were on half-board but one look at the buffet evening meal was enough for us to go into town and find a restaurant - the breakfast was no better. We like the town but we will not be using that hotel again.

Slapen was onmogelijk. Papieren muren, plafond en vloer. Gedurende de hele dag worden meubels verschoven met een ongeloofelijke lawaai telkens. Begint al vroeg in de ochtend en het is een dusdanig hard geluid dat je we wakker van schrikt. Ook hoor je vanaf de 5e verdieping mensen op straat praten. Zo gehorig is het, geen enkel moment rust gehad. Flinke afrader dus

Also die Unterkunft war relativ gut für meine Verhältnisse, aber wie gesagt ein Kühlschrank währe das non puls ultra gewehsen . den ich möchte gerne auch mal was im hotel machen im hotel , in meinem hotel ohne Stress.

Établissement qui ne mérite pas 4 étoiles,les chambres sans aucun équipement,rideaux déchirés,très vieillottes,pas d’insonorisation.La nourriture insipide du petit dej au dîner.Personel pas sympathique.Je mettrais juste un point positif aux femmes de ménage .

Hotel zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber sehr freundliches Personal. Ich hatte per Internet von daheim eingecheckt und bekam dafür ein Zimmerupgrade. Betten gut und Reinigungspersonal fleißig.

Hotellissa ei kukaan tervehtinyt koko viikon aikana. Hotelli jäänyt 80-luvulle palvelun ja tilojen suhteen. Huoneessa paljon pieniä muurahaisia. Kalustuksen isossa huoneessa sängyn lisäksi kaksi kulunutta ja vanhaa tuolia ja epämääräinen kulunut pöytä. Parvekeella kaksi likaista muovituolia. Kaikista hanoista tuli vain kuumaa vettä eli suihkussa ei voinut käydä vaan laskea ammeeseen vettä ja antaa sen jäähtyä.

Todo bien, salvo que se trata de un hotel con ciertos años y al menos nuestra habitación necesitaba un lavado de cara. Muy limpio, y camas cómodas, personal muy amable y cercano, vistas preciosas, con ubicación excelente.

Limpieza mucho que desear

La entrada muy buena y el recibimiento, pero la limpieza pésima. Al llegar pedimos no miramos nada simplemente dejar las cosas y nos tuvimos que ir, al llegar se que era demasiado tarde y vimos que la tasas ni precintos, el extractor lleno de costra de mopa de mucho tiempo, el cabecero, tele, ... Todo lleno de polvo de no haber limpiado
Se reclama en recepción y nos cambian a otra habitación donde éramos 3 adultos y que lo que les queda es una doble para dos pero nos la dieron y subió la chica de la recepción con nosotras a esa nueva habitación y la sorpresa estaba también sucia, nos pasan a una tercera habitación pero también doble n
NO para tres y el comentario que en esa habitación habían estado gente de agencia y no sabían si habían tocado la habitación.
Nos tuvimos que quedar en esa ya que no había más habitaciones y si fue usada la taza ya que se vio que no se había tirado bien de la cadena. Con lo que en una habitación doble tuvimos que dormir 3 y encima de las sabanas ya que seguridad de limpieza CERO
La primera habitación fue 305, la segunda 109 y la última 610

Mi aspettavo molto meglio

Gradevole albergo un po’ datato davanti il campo sportivo di Puerto de la Cruz, davanti al mare. Direi un 3 stelle. Camera spaziosa senza mini frigo e bollitore. Bar fino le 23, se uno vuole una cosa calda oppure deve tenere farmaci in frigo deve scendere alla reception. No, non nel 2024. Pulizie camera eccellenti e ottimo staff. Bagno usurato com maioliche del pavimento rotte e acqua della doccia/vasca con scariche improvvise bollenti. Buona colazione. Cena insomma. Bella vista mare della camera (con supplemento).

Colchones hundidos se clavan los muelles. Cortinas sucias desde hace un siglo, muebles oxidados, paredes del cuarto de baño con moho y sucias, taza del WC rota, paredes llenas de desconchones, puerta del cuarto de baño más sucia y más vieja imposible. Intentamos damos cambiarnos dos veces de habitación sin éxito. Hablamos con la recepción y nos dijeron que estaban todas maso menos igual. Pésimo, no es un cuatro estrellas no llega ni a una.

Primera vez que me sucede que en un hotel no puedo cenar a las 21.30 horas. Después de llegar de una jornada de trabajo quería cenar un bocadillo o cualquier cosa y al bajar al restaurante me dicen que la cocina cierra a las 21:00 horas y que si quería cenar algo podía ir a 10 minutos andando a algún lugar fuera del hotel, lo cuál no hice por supuesto. Me fui a dormir sin cenar. Que un hotel no tenga la capacidad de ofrecerle a un huesped ni un bocadillo a las 21.30 horas es una verguenza. Vaya nivel!! / En la habitación no había ni un solo toma de corriente para enchufar el cargador del movil también es increible. Tuve que dejar cargando el movil en el cuarto de baño. Por último solicité una habitación con escritorio para poder trabajar y me responden de recepción que no tenían habitación con escritorio. En definitiva, por ahí no me verán nunca más.

Bien pour un 3 étoiles, mais n'en mérite pas 4. Le restaurant en sous-sol surprend, pas de frigo dans les chambres et le simple vitrage ne stoppe pas les bruits de l'océan quand celui-ci est déchaîné, je présume qu'il en est de même côté rue, heureusement les travaux de la piscine municipale sont en phase de finition et n'apportent plus de nuisances.
Vous êtes à 10 mn à pied du centre et de tous ses restaurants.

En general me gustó la ubicación del hotel, a pie del paseo que lleva al centro del puerto de la cruz.

Como puntos negativos, no es fácil aparcar por la zona y el desayuno es regular, la bollería estaba dura y la comida en general no era muy apetitosa. Hay veces que es mejor menos cantidad pero más calidad...

Como puntos positivos la habitación, que es muy amplia y cómoda, con un balcón, y la zona como ya he dicho.
