Room was simple but adequate, especially for the price paid. TV didn't work but we never mentioned until check out since we decided not to use it. The french door appeared to have leaked during heavy rain, this was not a recurring issue. The location is spectacular, love the French balcony, and the rooftop solarium is a superb sunbathing spot. Didn't use the pool but it looked fine. It's an economically priced 3* hotel and it lived up to expectations. If they refurbed a little, it would easily shine. Either way, I was happy with RF Astoria.

We couldn't have chosen a better hotel. The staff were exceptional, kind, helpful and always smiling. The room was very clean and well sized. Even though the balcony was small, it was very nice to have it and enjoy the views. Water pressure was great and having a small kitchenette was ideal. Breakfast was included and even though not a huge variety, it was sufficient for us. We didn't get to use the pool, but the water was clear and clean, and the sundeck was a nice addition. All in all, very pleased with our lodgings in Puerto de La Cruz.

Great stay, staff were polite and very helpful/accomodating. The location was perfect, in walking distance of supermarkets, places to eat out, the beach and transport. Very close to the local town also, the area felt safe. Only advise is to book parking in advance if you want it by the hotel and noise travels but is managable. Would defo stay again if I were to return to the area!

The team are friendly and make all guests feel welcome. The property is in good condition and the rooms were clean and spacious. The room were cleaned daily and towels changed each day .

Lots of opinions to dine out and the supermarket is 5 minutes away and is open until 10pm.

Nice Studio Appartment

Nice studio appartment, well equipped and comfortable. It is ideally positioned to enjoy the restaurants on the seafront and the shops of Puerto de la Cruz. There’s is a supermarket nearby and a number of cafes and restaurants. The hotel also has a nice pool area and a lovely roof top sun terrace.

The area is safe to move around and the restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance. I loved that the supermarket was only 2mins away and open until 9/ 10pm in the evenings.

The cleaners were very good, beds were made every day, plenty of towels, were changed twice a week.
The reception was` very helpful. Safe was €34 a week and €17 returned when I returned the key.

Stayed here a few times. The location is great, just a short walk from the sea front, many bars and restaurants close by and a supermarket over the road. Reception staff were superb, helping us sort out the paperwork for our return journey. Daily housekeeping is a bonus too, sheets and towels changed at regular intervals. There is a \"kitchenette\" for preparing your own meals if desired.

Great Christmas and New Year's Holiday

The hotel is situated close enough to all amenities, but far enough away so that your not bothered by all the noise from the bars and the restaurants.. A lovely initial greeting from front of house.. A good size room which was cleaned daily.. A little early for us as it was always about 9.30.. Breakfast staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.. There was always something that you could chose for breakfast but I would say it was just ok.. Would we stay there again? Yes we would.. A visit to the crepe and ice cream bar in the square is well worth a visit..

Great location. Right in the centre. Near to the lido and all the local bars. A short walk to the \"old town\". Staff are very friendly and the room was cleaned on a daily basis. Breakfast available (we didnt try it) plenty of places to eat and drink locally. Supermarket is 300 yards away. Our room/apartment was spotless and the kitchenette was a bonus. We loved it. Looking to book again for next year.

I felt the room size was spacious with lots of room for luggage etc. I also like the fact that the kitchen area was compact and could be closed off when not using.
The hotel room had no air-con, however a ceiling fan which would only stay on for for 3 minutes before you had to switch on again which was a bit frustrating- especially during the night and when getting dressed at night time.

We liked the central location, comfy bed and fair price. Also the swimming pool and sun terrace.
We didn’t like the noise created by the scraping of chair legs in other rooms. There is a lot of noise that carries through walls and ceilings eg flushing toilets at night.

Stranger with a key enters my room at 5.30 am!

Have stayed here many times and been very happy. However on the last night of my holiday this time somebody entered my room in pitch darkness at 5.30am with a key. I had double locked the room from the inside but they were still able to open the door and walk into the room. Fortunately I am a light sleeper and yelled at the man who entered to get out of my room. He spoke in English. This was reported to the young girl at reception the following morning and I demanded to speak to the manager. I waited until 2pm but manager did not appear or contact me afterwards. I then had to leave to catch my flight. I am a female travelling on my own and this was a terrifying experience. I will not return.

Hotel was in a good location, very clean and comfortable bed. The only air conditioning was a fan in centre of the room which went off every ten minutes so the room was always very hot. Other downside was you had to get a hair dryer from reception and return it after every use which was both time consuming and inconvenient. Reception staff were very polite and helpful.

Student visited over christmas

As a student looking for a more relaxing way to enjoy the Tenerife weather, I chose to stay in Puerto de la Cruz instead of thye busier Southern locations. The whole trip was so relaxing, I took two day trips organized by the hotel, and they were excellent. There is an excellent tapas bar a few blocks away which I would highly reccomend! The pool was quite cold, but the hotel is SO close to the ebach! Also the rooms were cleaned every day and it was a wonderful stay.

Very good hotel with excellent friendly staff, please note the hotel looks like its called Apartments Bambi as its shares the same reception so just go straight to the desk and ask, (if using a coach transfer you will get dropped off outside a Dino supermarket and its up the road opposite this supermarket just up from the pool table/arcade place. you will be collected from the same place for the return to the airport even though the coach transfer company says outside Chinese restaurant, (the supermarket used to be a Chinese Restaurant apparently ) hope that make sense and helps you to find this very clean well priced hotel in the perfect location.

Purto de la Cruz, a city of pleasant surprises.

I travelled to Puerto de la Cruz for pre-Christmas sunshine and exercise. RF Astoria is perfectly situated if you don't have a car. 3 minutes walk to shopping, hypermarket, beaches and restaurants. Tourist info bureaux are nearby, selling all sorts of hiking, biking and sightseeing trips. RF Astoria is a simple, no frills, hotel, with basic facilities in the room. It is fastidiously clean. The reception staff are welcoming and informative. If you're not looking for luxury, just good, clean simple accommodation, in a location close to all amenities, RF Astoria is a sound choice.
Puerto de la Cruz is a large resort, with hundreds of restaurants and bars. It has a slightly older client base, predominantly German. It is full of pleasant surprises, from the views, to the gardens, to the wonderful exhibition of Christmas Cribs and the dramatic, volcanic countryside around. It is also very, very hilly, so might not suit those with a bad back or mobility problems. It is also not an ideal road-cycling base due to the traffic and very cycle-unfriendly roads within the town. It is though, a great base for hiking and for access to El Teide. It also has a comprehensive public transport (bus) system giving access to towns and villages all around. I loved it and would go again.

Good value for a 3 star apartment

Location: Great 5 mins walk to the beach, supermarket 2 mins. Right in town centre.
Facilities:
Pros -Spacious room with king bed (twin mattresses though). Kitchenette with coffee maker, double ceramic hob, under counter fridge with a top freezer compartment and all utensils and crockery supplied.
Daily maid service.
Cons - Ceiling fan only comes on for 10 mins before you have to switch it on again. Not much of a problem when visiting in mid May earlier. But definitely will be a problem from June and beyond when temperatures soar! Oscillating wall fans mounted to the walls would've been ideal (they had them in the lobby so don't see why every room couldn't have them). No hairdryers or irons in the room. We bought our own travel iron and used the table to iron on. Having to borrow a hairdryer from reception everytime was annoying especially since they didn't have many and one was practically unusable! You have to return it straight away afterwards in case another guest wanted to borrow. An easy solution if they were worried people would steal them would be to make you pay a deposit for it and they loan one to you for the length of your stay and you get the deposit back when you return it at the end. Just like they already do with the safe key we paid a 17 euro deposit and a daily charge. And the last negative was the noisy street the room was facing especially on Saturday and Sunday.We had to open the double patio type doors to the balcony when it got stuffy. Loud street!

Lovely little hotel very close to lots of bars, resturants and the beach. Could do with wifi in the room and also a bar perhaps downstairs. Breakfast also wasnt great. However the staff were so friendly and the room was great. I would recommend this place for the location and staff.

Short trip for the Mrs' birthday.

Lovely clean hotel. Nice big room with kitchenette. Staff very friendly. I would like to see wifi extended to all rooms FOC and a mini kettle as we called at the Mcds for an expresso and some free wifi every day but this is only a minor gripe. Very handily placed to explore the town and no noise from the street and we were on the ground floor. We will definitely think about visiting again.

Nice little place that is right in the center of the Town. The room is spacious and the prices are great for what they offer.
There are however a few minor issues that travelers need to be aware of.
- there is no free-wifi
- parking is hard to find, but this is not a hotel, but rather a Puerto de la Cruz issue
- The doors don't have handles. They close by slamming.That combined with the fact the maid on my floor was very punctual, every morning at 7-7:30 she would start cleaning rooms, generated loud slams and noise along the entire floor that usually woke me up.

All of this considered i would still gladly recommend the hotel to anyone.

Although the address and picture shows the front of the hotel Astoria, it actually shares an entrance with hotel Bambi around the back in a parallel street...good job the shop owner next door was able to point us in the right direction!
Room was larger than we thought, with a pleasant integrated dining area...although the plastic garden chairs were uncomfortable.
Beds were memory foam mattresses, unfortunately the previous users indentation caused a dip in the bed!
The ceiling fan is on a timer, which was annoying having to switch on over and over.
All in all a pleasant room, with reasonably comfy beds but could be improved with a few inexpensive changes.

We spend at the hotel 8 night. The location and staff are excellent ( Fabiola at the restaurant and Yadira at the reseption) Both girls very nice, friendly and so helpful. The only thing we didn't like it was a noisy room ( the building is noisy itself, it is how it's build) We could hear every single step above us or on the corridor unfortunately.

Nice hotel, close to beach, clean, nice pool

Spent 2 weeks here in self catering apartment. It's within 10 mins walk to two beaches and Lago Martianez - salt water pools right next to seafront. There is a supermarket about 2 mins walk away and shops, bars, restaurants within a stones throw. If you're looking for a relaxing get away this is ideal. There is also a beautiful secluded beach called Playa Bollullo about an hours walk away but a taxi will drop you to the top entrance. From there are steps down to the beach which has parasols and loungers for rent as well as a bar. Inaccessible to wheelchairs but if you're able well worth the jaunt to the soft sand.

This hotel is extremely well located - everything is within walking distance. Staff are friendly and helpful, although reception was occasionally unmanned which was frustrating after a long day walking. Wifi is only available in the lounge and not free. Rooms are clean, spacious and the 'studio' facilities adequate. Breakfast is reasonably priced. The pool / sun area is pleasant. Noise from the street was occasionally a problem in the early hours.

Fab place!

Great value. Very helpful/pleasant reception staff. One of them helped me do Ryan Air boarding passes at no cost (eternally grateful!) Only snag was chairs and bed could have been more comfortable, especially as one of us was very ill and felt uncomfortable a lot. Resort lovely to see,locals were mostly very nice and food /drinks were cheap compared to U K. Like Marriotts at a fraction of price. Would stay again for sure!!

1st time in RF Astoria, 4th time in Puerto de la Cruz, so we have stayed in various places (all hotels). To be honest, these apartments are fantastic, 1 street back from the front and centrally located. Breakfast is a small buffet but fine (@ 6 Euro). We just went out for breakfast though, well all meals; great food in some lovely resuarants (especially ones in the side streets). The rooms are great, cleaned & sorted every day (by lovely smiley staff). Apart from no air con (roof fan only) we have nothing negative to say about them. Wouldn't hesitate in staying there again. Will book again for March.

Really nice hotel (Astoria RF)

I stayed at Astoria (RF) for 7 days and really liked it.

Cleanliness: Very good.

Reception Staff: Very good. They all spoke very good English and genuinely friendly and useful in terms of advice, etc. Even the night time staff/concierge spoke some English and was genuinely friendly.

Cleaning ladies: Very friendly.

Location: A decent supermarket (Hiper Dino) within 2-3 minutes walking distance. Playa Jardin with 15-20 minutes’ walk. Central Bus Stop 15 minutes’ walk. All other local amenities - pharmacy, general stores, news agents, etc – within 5-10 minutes. Top restaurants within 5-10 minutes’ walk.

The hotel is tucked away from really busy and touristy area so if you want some peace and quiet at night time, this is a good hotel.

I did have some difficulty finding this hotel, as most people in Porte De La Cruz know Bambi hotel, which is in the same building as Astoria. So when you tell the taxi driver that you want to go to your hotel, use \"Bambi / Astoria\".

Good hotel close to all amenities

We were pleasantly surprised by RF Astoria which was very reasonably priced even though we had a one bed apartment, which they call a 'junior suite'. It was great to be in a large town with all it's amenities after being in a small resort in the south and this hotel was right in the middle of the action. We experienced some disturbance from the street during the first night as clubbers returned to their beds but we realised that keeping the bedroom window shut lessened the noise considerably. We would be pleased to stay here again but would probably select a room with a balcony as we like to sit out in the open.

Astoria, whilst clean and well located, didn't quite feel like a hotel. There were holes in our bedding, no toiletries except for a tiny bar of cheap soap and no hairdryer. Hotel staff pleasant but when I queried free wi-fi, they said ANY issues needed to be taken up with booking agent!
Breakfast just ok. Parking in the Astorias underground car park costs 8 € per day.......but it is down a steep ramp with tight corners and is vary dark.

We were on holiday with two elderly parents. The apartments were very clean, spacious, well equipped and had a ceiling fan and kitchen area. The towels are changed daily and rooms cleaned daily. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are lifts to rooms and garage basement if required.
The swimming pool was nice to cool off in after the heat of the day with plenty of sun beds.
R F Astoria is a good base for either self catering or to eat out locally. Trips out, definitely do a trip up Teide, as the volcano was so interesting and the views were beautiful. My husband and I will certainly be returning to the R F Astoria again for a holiday. Definitely recommend this hotel for cleanliness and comfortable beds also, but make sure you ask for a double bed if you want one, as some rooms are twin bedded. The parking is below the hotel and was worth the fee to park hassle free each day during high season.

Nice hotel, very friendly, helpful reception staff

The hotel is situated close to Playa Martianez and Lago Martianez.
As it was low season, the hotel was very quiet at all times which meant that if you wanted to enjoy a siesta in the middle of the afternoon, you could.
The room was large enough for four people and came with a small kitchenette (which we did not really use but it is nice to have the option).
The pool, on the second floor, is quite small but it was not a negative point for us as the sea is so close that we only used it once when we came back from an excursion to the National Park and Masca.
The breakfast is buffet style and offers a good selection of pastries, cheeses, hams, yoghurts, cereals, fruits...
A big positive point goes to the ladies at the reception who were extremely friendly and recommended some nice places to visit as well as good restaurants which we would have never found without them.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking at spending some time in the north of the island.

Nice Apt, Nice Staff

We had a great little apartment, kitchenette is small but met our needs. Had to buy dish soap and bathroom items as none provided. Bathrooms clean. Hotel staff were accommodating and pleasant. Nice view onto a pleasant street. Good location for seeing the city. Not easy to park within Puerto de la Cruz, but huge Maritime parking lot by the see within easy walking distance (5-10min). Highly recommend.

A good central base for Puerto Cruz

Good quality town hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Good value breakfast. Pool rather austere and furniture on the 'sun terrace' rather shabby. Good room sizes. Best of all, a great location, very near the promenade - no hill climbing to get back in the evening!

Very central and convenient location.

I stayed at the Astoria a few times in the past as I find it a very pleasant and well placed hotel in Puerto de la Cruz. I had asked for a room reservation which I had in the past. Because of a mix up at reception, the room was not available, which was very ennoying. Reception did everything to rectify the situation and after 2 weeks an even better Apt. was found and the remaining 4 weeks were fantastic. All the staff are wonderful, they make we very welcome and I shall be staying there again. TV facilities need upgrading to flat screen and more international channels are a must. This is my only criticism.

Friendly & comfortable small hotel

Really friendly, helpful staff, who sorted out problem with the hot water straightaway. The breakfast was pleasant, served in a nice dining area, with a good choice of food and drink to help yourself to, with a member of staff on standby to re-stock the items, 3 hour time slot for breakfast. Reception staff knowledgable. Great location for wandering to bars and cafes in town, the bus station, and the sea. Really sweet pool and patio area.

Canaries carnival

Difficult to find but is at the back of hotel Bambi. We stayed for 5 nights to enjoy the carnival. Really close to the town centre but far enough not to be noisy. Supermarket and bakery nearby both good. We had the room overlooking the pool but no children were staying and also a bit cold so issues there. The pool was clean and air warmed, so a bit chilly but managed to have a dip each day. Terrace by pool taken up by german women some topless eventhough over 60. It scared alpha male enough to stay indoors until the sun went in just about.
Turn right out of hotel down the steps towards the sea and left to Rancho for a true continental breakfast. Follow the road facing you from reception for 10 minutes to walk to town and to main square. The restaurant on the little square on the left with funny trees does best potatoes and tricolore sauce.

Astoria-Bambi Hotel

Our stay went well with a few shortcomings that your company might have alerted us to. For example, the town of Puerto de la Cruz was one with an overabundance of automobiles with very little parking. What parking was available cost 27 Euro per day. That translated into roughly $35 a day. Not even the hotel had enough parking capacity!

Another issue was how to get to the hotel. The streets of Puerto de la Cruz are a tangled maze of one-way streets. It took us almost 3 hours to find and actually park near the Astoria.

Finally, it seemed like the entiire town was under construction, making this a noisy and congested vacation locale. Fortunately, what we came to enjoy was within walking distance. The people are very friendly. Of particular note were the proprietors of the on-site restaurant, the Bambi. The owner/siblings, Lili and Daniel went out of their way to ensure our complete satisfaction. Their Romanian cuisine, along with the Canarian standards, were superb.

Overall, we would conclude that the Astoria Hotel was adequate to our needs, but the local environment should have been explained with a bit more detail.

Hotel Astoria - not the best but good value

This is a nice apart-hotel in a fairly good area of Puerto de la Cruz. We found it good value for the money we paid. The surrounding streets are clean, there is a supermarket, good few cafes, restaurants, shops around. The actual city centre is just few blocks away. The interior is on the nice side of someone's taste although there are materials used that could have been chosen more \"carefully\". Cleaning was excellent, the room is good size as is the bathroom. An air-conditioning unit would be nice though, even if for small extra charge. Lacking this the room was unpleasantly hot sometimes. There is a ceiling fan and it makes thing a little better. The small kitchen unit is very usable, everything (except the fridge) was working fine and we found it spotless clean. The aforementioned fridge was working too but was not very effective so we had to throw things away a bit earlier than supposed to have. Otherwise only good things, very nice staff, always helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The location is excellent - just by the center within easy walking distance of bus station, beach, resteraunts, and supermarket. But nevertheless is nice and quiet. The hotel design is a little odd with a funny little reception area, grandiose entrance hall, good hallways but with very cheap plastic carpet matting. The pool area is sheltered but not that attractive surrounded by windows and with no planting, but acceptable. The self catering kitchens are great - they hide away in a very large cupboard. The cleaners are good. 2 out of 3 receptionists nice and helpful.

Overall it was excellent as a cheapo hotel.
