I was in a room facing the hotel pools, so no view to speak of. Good central location age easy to enjoy the ocean across the street.

Julio ( I hope i have the spelling correct was amazing in the dining room. Very welcoming and willing to speak English and help me out.

Room cleaning was equally amazing and accommodating to my requests not to have the room done everyday.

Overall i found the housekeeping to be very environmentally aware.

Older ladies in the front desk could do with some customer service training.

Poor parts; The room - the room we were given was in an annexe away from the main building. The room was large and clean but neglected.
The furnishings were stained, the windows dirty. The room is devoid of colour and has some sort of textured wall paint circa 1979.
The bathroom suffered from the same issues and the tiles tolesand fitments are also old and somewhat worn.
The balcony looks on to an air conditioning unit but you can at least see the actual hotel to see what you're missing. The whole annexe overlooks a busy road, is noisy at night and needs all of it needs refurbishment. The rooms in question are 339 - 342 approximately.
Another note, the pools looked nice (weather not good enough to use them) but there are definitely not enough sunbeds if the hotel is at capacity - be prepared for 6am towel wars.
Didn't use the hotel bars.

The majority of staff were really helpful and kind and added to my solo visit.
Despite mynoriginal booking needsbbeing clear and speaking in advance with the hotels reservations i was given a room on the 8th floor with mainly a street view on arrival. It was late so i took it. The next i day moved to suit my needs and disabilities. The room was comfortable, but i had to get my AC fixed. Despite being all inclusive it did not include tea/coffee etc in the room and i had to pay extra for this. The pool area is very nice and kept well. The pool bar is welcoming. However the all inclusive food offering is not good. It's all chicken nuggets, chips and burgers. A side salad is the only healthy option. There are different menus for different classes of guests. The food in the buffet was decent, but again the healthy options for lunch and dinner were from the grill and salad. A lot of food was deep fried or in rich sauces. So hard for us on a healthy eating regime. Breakfast dud provide a reasonable selection of healthy food.
The location was excellent along the seafront. These was music/entertainment most evenings in the bar area.
The hotel doesn't provide a transfer service. A taxi from/to the South Airport is €140 each way.

Great hotel right in the centre of Puerto de la Cruz, my room had a sea view & balcony overlooking the lido which was nice. I lost my mobile in a taxi and the reception staff (who are very friendly!) phoned the local taxi company and got it back for me which I wouldn't have been able to do on my own as the taxi company only speaks Spanish so I am very grateful for this. Would recommend this hotel.

A disappointing stay

On arrival we were allocated a very small room overlooking the street we were expecting a pool or sea view which they changed why not give us the correct room in the first place this seems to be a common occurrence when booking through booking sites.
The hotel looks dated and could do with updating.
Our shower which was over the bath was not thermostatically controlled and kept fluctuating from very hot to cold which for a child could be dangerous over all disappointed with our stay

Let's start with good points, will be short:
- comfy beds, cleaners are good, one of the small pool is heated, location is very good
Bad, mainly subjective, please note that:
- hotel is a 'brainwashing' one, they welcome you with temperature checking, the lift has 'traffic light system' to condition you to make you familiar with it, they use it to let you know when the restaurant is less busy
- food is horrid, I tried breakfast only once, dry, no fresh veggies, some half-fresh fruits, a basically small rounded table with everything on it and on that small area 5-6 restricted direction how to step close to the food preventing you to really see what is on the table and annoying to the score.
- in the lift the other entertaining is the techno-world advertising, get used to with AI and how good is to be a female astronaut among others.
- you have to wait minutes to the lift as they are small and you are not allowed to use it outside of your 'bubble' despite of wearing masks are compulsory
- the hotel is very 'smart', for the key (card) put in the slot the TV turns in to be sure you can't miss the fresh propaganda, everything is smart, if you are EMF sensitive (I am) it's a hell.
- there is absolutely no privacy on the balconies, you can see each other, if someone peeps one can see you in your bed from one direction.
In past I shall ban this hotel-chain and this is because of being so 'smart' and so eager to push the brainwashing agenda.

The position of the hotel is the best you could ask for being on the sea front with a relatively level area along the front.

Be aware the hotel has no parking facilities, either park on street if available or in a parking lot at €50 per week! I was lucky and got a parking spot on a street but it was a fair old haul to the hotel with 2 large cases and hand luggage.

The hotel is in great location. The road at the front of the hotel has been closed down to traffic and became and boulevard so you need to walk to the lobby. There’s no parking but you can park at a nearby hotel. Buffet is decent enough although the majority of the dishes have no flavor. The room is great, bed is confortable, nice air conditioning, and a balcony. Right across is the Martiánez pool and a small beach.

Hotel was in a great central location but downside of that was no parking and convenient parking was expensive. Hotel was clean and food very nice. There were a range of options for inclusive and something else that entitled you to certain drinks and snacks but we didn’t know what they were! so found using the bars difficult as they opened and closed at various times of the day and it was unclear what was on offer. Pool area was clean and tranquil. Hotel near lots of cafes bars etc but we slept well as hotel was cool and quiet despite being in central location.

We came here for my sisters birthday trip. Michaela (atención al Cliente) and Ventura (maitre) made our stay so memorable by coordinating a special birthday dinner. They are so kind and provided us with outstanding service. The hotel is beautiful with beautiful views of the beach and Lago de martienez. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the evening shows were very entertaining. The pools were lovely and one of them is heated. Location is great and within walking distance of many restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

But the food was a disaster, though breakfast was ok. The main courses at dinner were a disgrace, Butlins would be embarrassed to serve such food. Tasteless small pieces of anonymous fried \"fish\", rubbery steak & chops, veg not bad, \"Tapas\" (starters) absolutely ludicrous, undeserving of the celebrated name. Puddings reasonable.
Very congested dining room, rather like an airport departure zone. Also the dining chairs had steel arms with very sharp, rather risky
corners, likely to cause accidents to the careless.
I would rate this hotel 3+-star. The staff compensated to some extent
for the ghastly dining room.

The room was very comfortable with good facilities. Catering and cleaning staff very friendly, receptionists could have been friendlier. Breakfast room had amazing views and excellent food with loads of choice. The hotel should really advertise this a lot more as it was the best breakfast we have ever had in a hotel. If you like a Bloody Mary or Presecco with your breakfast, that was available too.

Spectacular Views and Great Location

Had a wonderful time at the H10 Tenerife Playa, it had a great location although I will remember to try to find a flight into the North Airport because of a long transfer. The staff and areas were great and the breakfasts were wonderful, we were not AI as there were lots of lovely restaurants along the coast footpath. It was also near to the dotto train for those who want to visit Loro Parque

This hotel is in a fantastic location, on the beachfront promenade. We had half board with breakfast and dinner and the food was very good with a wide range of dishes to suit most tastes. We didn't like that we had to pay 2.5 euros per night for a safe, there was no tea/coffee in the room, no facewashers, there is a drainage smell in certain areas and vodka and champagne are served free at breakfast but one cannot get a free glass of water at dinner! Where's the logic in that??

We have originally booked 2 nights with privilege option at this hotel but cancelled the second one because we were disappointed. Ok, the good things: room was clean, had a nice ocean view and location very convenient. However, the lady at check-in was rushing us saying she had to go the bathroom, there seemed to be drinks upon arrival, there was champagne on her desk but she didn`t bother to offer us any. Hotel doesn`t have parking they will send you at the 'shopping center' which is 500m away and costs 20EUR per day. Privilege means that you can sit on the terrace for breakfast, there`s another 'privilege' area but we didn`t get to see it because it closes 10 pm and we were busy finding parking for the night as we got back late from Teide. Basically nothing happens after 10pm, we almost missed dinner as well because of that.

Lots of shops and restaurants around, grocery store 5 min walk , bus station about 15 min walk . Breakfast was great , lots of choices , Wi-Fi very good , definitely recommend it

Excellent location. Rooms clean but a bit outdated. Staff at the restaurant very friendly. Overall good quality and variety of the food. Breakfast could be better if they added real yogurt to the menu instead of a fluffy mouse, or real orange juice instead of an artificial mix. Lots of extras charged, not in line with what you would expect on a 4 star hotel. Room safe and fridge came with extra cost, and so did drinks with dinner (we had half board) or even \"real\" orange juice with breakfast.

Great hotel with amazing food choice!

We would definitely recommend this hotel. It's right on the seafront, opposite Lago Martianez (which is a great place to spend a morning!). The hotel staff were very efficient and were were given cava on arrival, a nice touch! We were given a room with a balcony overlooking the sea, recently refurbished we think. Apart from it's central location and good facilities - sun terraces, pool area, bar, even a gym at the top - the main plus for us was the restaurant. We went half-board but ate lunch once too, instead of dinner, and the choice and food quality was great. I honestly don't know how anybody, no matter how fussy, could have gone hungry! Note: although drinks are chargeable in the restaurant for people not on AI, there is a machine with cold water and juice always available! I also read some negative comments regarding wifi - we had no problems in any areas of the hotel! Great place to stay, highly recommended.

The public areas of this hotel are excellent. Well appointed and beautifully landscaped. The bedrooms vary! There were 5 of us requiring 3 rooms. I requested rooms close together and not too far from the lift as two of our party had walking difficulties. They gave us rooms close together but on the ground floor facing the sea, next to the entrance.
The only problem was, we couldn't see the sea, we couldn't see anything. There was a very heavy wooden louvred sliding door to the balcony/patio, with the immovable slats facing down. We spent one night there and had to have the lights on every time we were in the room and to see the time at night and in the morning. You couldn't leave the wooden door open, it had to be locked always, because being on the ground floor, anyone could get in. After much protesting, they moved 1 couple the next day to an 8th floor room with a lovely view but the rest of us had to spend another night in the dungeons until they found us other rooms. I was on the 1st floor overlooking the pool and my friends above me. The trouble was again, so much foliage that my view was restricted until the day before we left, they radically trimmed the palms and foliage. However, at least I could sit on my balcony and leave the sliding patio door open at night. At night NOISY.
The food was O.K. quite varied and plentiful. There was the usual problem trying to find a lounger near the pools - impossible, people rushing out with towels, then disappearing.

Lovely relaxing week although lots of older people to start and then a mixture of ages. May, June and July low season now apparently so check info before you leave! Not much in the way of decent nightclubs or bars that play good music., but there is a great selection of restaurants and bars.

The room lacked a kettle ant for a 4-star hotel i felt they should have had one, with complementary tea bags etc. I also felt the fridge should have been inclyded in the cost of my stay. Overall a good hotel.

The H10 is superbly located on the waterfront so you can watch the surfers from your balcony. The staff were very helpful and welcomed us with a glass of bubbly upon our arrival. Rooms were clean and functional and left nothing to be desired. The bar had a happy hour every night which was nice for that pre-dinner drink. The breakfast was a highlight. They served everything from fresh pastries, caviar, cooked breakfast and sausages and sauerkraut. Fresh juices and prosecco were also included. The pools were not heated so were a bit chilly for a winter getaway but in the searing summer heat I'm sure they would be fine. All in all I would say that this is one of the best located hotels in Puerto de la Cruz and we would not hesitate to stay here again.

It's OK, but don't get too excited!

The hotel is ok , nothing to get too excited about. Some major money is needed to bring it up to the standard of some other H10 hotels we have stayed at.
Food was of an acceptable standard , glad we were only starting for 2 nights as would soon get bored of the typical hotel buffet style food. Was lacking some holiday luxury style foods eg seafoods, good quality meats.
Pool area is lovely and very relaxing, however the pool was not heated to an acceptable temp. Law in Spain allowes up to 25c and it was no way near. So disappointing unable to use these facilities . The evening entertainment on the night of our stay was poor ( a group balancing bottles etc)
Considering what you pay more for this hotel I would choose some others we have been to before as they represent better value for money.

All good!

A lovely location for the beach, sound of crashing waves at night. A comfortable bed, clean and well maintained room. All areas of hotel welcoming and well presented. The gardens were a pleasent place to relax, butterflies and birds to watch as you soak up some sun. As most guests are older it is quiet, I would say our children may have found it too quiet, but it suited us just fine!

Wonderful views of a rocky and viloent coast

Super breakfast and dinner buffets. Great views from the glass walls of the restaurant.
We could not have wished for better.

A three star hotel for over 65s

If I had known that the vast majority of people staying here were over 65 I would've booked elsewhere, coming from a 30-something couple. The hotel is in a great position being right on the sea front next to lago martinez, and the staff in the restaurant are great, those behind the reception less so (they asked for a printout of the Expedia confirmation which we didn't know we needed, so be warned). My main gripes are the hotel parades itself as 4 star but it's definitely only 3 star. Wifi is only available in reception, foyer, near the pool and patchy in the restaurant - not a sign of a great hotel especially when you want to research and find things to do, places to eat etc. There are no irons in this hotel, either in the room or from reception. You have to pay to use the safe in the room, no just a deposit but it is costs to store your valuables safely - why?? There is a minibar/fridge but you have to pay again. The hotel tried to charge us for 7 nights of dining in their restaurant when we only ate there once. The hotel rooms (we stayed on ground floor) are tired and dated. Also there is no parking, but if you have a car then use the Pyramidies blue level car park for €30 for one week. So overall, I cannot recommend this hotel at all.

In need of major TLC

That this hotel has been given 4 stars is ridiculous. The door handle in my room was broken, as well as the framing around the wardrobe. One night I woke up and the door to my room was wide open. I still don't know how or why, but I felt very unsafe in the room, and didn't leave any valuables in there.

Moreover, the shower door was broken such that I couldn't close it. This was a real health and safety hazard because I could've slipped on my way out of the shower because the water splashed on the floor.

No tea making facilities were provided, despite the booklet saying this would be in all four star hotels, and when I asked at reception, they did nothing to accommodate my needs.

I was extremely unhappy with my stay at H10 tenerife playa.

Right on the front hotel beach just steps away

I woke up the first morning with ants running over me Staff not very helpful. They offered another room that was a long way from the lift ,not suitable for us as I have problems walking. Third room stank of stagnant water .Finally after making a fuss the fourth room was good.They tried to say we had food in the first room, but we only had a bottle of water.

The scramble at breakfast is not a good way to start the day.

Great hotel, fantastic location

We have stayed in this hotel a few times on a bed and breakfast basis. I have never had any complaint about the food or service. It is in a great location for bars and restaurants and the lido. We would never stay anywhere else in Puerto de la cruz

Nice hotel in a very convenient location.

This is a well maintained hotel in a very convenient location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner had enough choice for all the family. We went with our 9 year old and he enjoyed the satay as much as we did. The hotel environment was very child friendly and safe.

If you want to go far, get a taxy to the main bus stop (EUR 3.50) and get the bus. Bus is cheap and on time. If you get a BONO card for bus it will be even cheaper.

The staff at Tenerife Playa are fantastic, from the bar staff to the food hall and of course your excellent Miranda. I must also say that the beds and pillows are by far the most comfortable we have ever had in any hotel room. Room cleaned daily and sheets changed 3 times in the week. hired a car to get there from the south, didnt realise you had no car parking facilities. Should have checked. A bit congested around pool. Not a lot you can do about that as you had every space filled in with sunbeds. A few more parasols would have been handy & small tables next to beds. Great holiday.

Helpful and friendly staff on reception, friendly room staff who kept the room clean and tidy. The buffet meals were excellent with plenty of choice for all tastes. Plenty to do and see in the surrounding area, we will definitely be back.

Average age was approx 70! Standard room not even close to what you see in hotel's brochure! Old and outdated. Breakfast not much choice and low quality. Lots of bread though. I'd say 40% of all food were breads, than some fried food, not much fresh fruit or fresh salads. We had dinner included. Big difference food much better as well as quality. I really like it however unless you are all inclusive drinks are not included with your food!! Not even water. I'm not expecting alkohol to be included but soft drinks should be at least smal bottle of water per person. Pool very smal no wifi in the rooms. Evening entertainment good for over 70s. I will definitely not come back there not good value for money. For only £10 more we stayed remaining of our holiday in really nice 4* in Adeje where average age was 35 and was sunny all the time
