This cannot be a 5 Star hotel. It should not be more than 3 stars. It is a very old hotel, staff was not helpful, we paid for breakfast during booking but they said its not included in spite of me showing them on the booking app. Location is not ideal, its very far from the airport and main lively area, unless you have a car its not convenient getting anywhere. Amenity timing is not good, bathroom and room also was not the best. The only good thing about this hotel was the view from the room-ocean view, that's it. We paid a lot for a 5 star experience but were disappointed.

The staff was polite and helpful, the view from the room was outstanding, the food was good. The only issue was the noise made by the chairs in the dining room from the 14th floor but if you wake up before breakfast and go to bed after dinner, it is not an issue.

What could be better:
- decor ceilings and walls in corridors were looking very old and tired with stains and peeling paint
- gym (this gym is of 3 star) only one treadmill, very few weights (looks like most were stolen)
- dirty dishes (on 3 days)
- food variety

I would say this hotel rates more as 3.5 stars.

It was sold to us as a five star hotel and it was clearly not that anymore.
The reception, dining area and bar area seem to be of a good standard and kept well.
The rooms and bedding were clean. Bathrooms were clean but in desperate need of updating/ modernising. The corridor areas were definitely tired and in need of refurbishment. There was one wall on the way to our room with plaster flaking off the wall, looked like it had been a water leak. Framework on corridor in need of refurbishment, lift doors rusty.
Overall our stay was fine, staff were lovely, friendly and helpful throughout are stay.
In our opinion the Hotel its self is in need of a refurbishment sooner than later.

The beautiful view of the roaring ocean is a huge plus for this hotel. I returned after 10 years, but unfortunately, nothing has changed for the better – the €3 per day fee for renting a kettle is outrageous! The hotel is worn by time and only pretends to be 5-star. So, I'm not lowering my rating further out of sentimentalism.

Had to remain in our room for nearly 2 days after getting food poisoning from an evening meal. Unsurprising given how dirty the “clean” plates and drinking glasses were. Food options for allergies were very limited, nothing advised to be gluten free. Our first day was very much ‘check in and go’, no information given to us about specific details (I.e bar locations) just a sheet of paper with generic info about things on each floor. The room had silverfish including one in the bed, clean bedding often had dirt remaining. With the main road being directly outside our room, sleeping through the early morning was very difficult as traffic increased, lower floors suffer even more so. The hotel describes itself as five-star however as you go beyond the lobby it’s very apparent how tired the hotel is and how dated many utilities are. The carpets are old, the TV didn’t work, the balcony floor was dirty.

Only stayed for one night due to our flight being cancelled but what an excellent hotel this is. Easy check in greeted with a Prosecco, reception staff welcoming friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable and wow what a view. Was booked in for breakfast and lots of choice and the food was fresh warm and tasty. Cannot really fault this hotel.

A very nice 4* hotel; I’m aware that hotels are designated their stars on the basis of facilities. This hotel is advertised as 5* but in my opinion it is much more inline with what’s expected of 4*. Positives - staff are very friendly, the ocean view from the room was magnificent. Negatives - the coffee at breakfast is truly disgusting, the beds are very hard, the hotel has a very 80’s vibe and decor - think dark wood laminate, foamy ceiling tiles, one buffet restaurant (no ala carte), dismal worn out gym, very small pool.

The hotel is pretty much exactly 1 mile from centre of town; great little walk down but a very steep, uphill walk back.

We had a wonderful stay here. Lovely spacious room with balcony, amazing views from the glass lined dining room. I enjoyed the pool every day although the water is bracing in February! Charming staff from the cheerful dining room manager to our room cleaner, to the receptionist who sent a cup of tea down to my wife when she felt unwell. Highly recommend!

The hotel is dated, and while the areas were clean, there was a musty odor in the hallways and in the room. Hotel breakfast was average at best. Besides the check in experience, staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel location is decent, views from room was fantastic.

Stayed there 9 nights in Oct24 as a couple, half board. Great location, walkable to centre and few minutes from local restaurants.
Parking is very limited and expensive if booked with the hotel at €10/night. Possible to find free parking spaces within 5-10min walk.
Food - very subpar, 2/5 stars. Buffet style with similar food all the time - salad, pre-cooked pasta and choice of your own wok combinations. At dinner you have to pay for all drinks - not even tap water is provided for free.
Chef needs to go on training - all food severely overcooked (think rubber tuna and sole-like steak). Not tasty at all - so many places around offer much tastier options - regretted to go half-board. Breakfast ok but same everyday. Edible, but not enjoyable. Poor selection and quality of deserts.
Facilities - bedroom spacious, comfy bed with many pillows and great housekeeping. Windows could have been upgraded to double glazed - due to location every night you can hear loud noises from the ocean waves and wind - had to sleep with earplugs. Hallways look like from horror movies - tasteless and dated.
Outside pools - nice and clean, jacuzzi ice cold though and couldn’t make use of it.
Spa area - for additional charge of €15/person you can use “spa” facilities- we tried but instantly regretted and would not bother - dirty grouts and mouldy ceilings, inside hot tub smell like toilet drain, disgusting steam room and hot beds make loud pop noise that prevents any hint of relaxation. The property was amazing. Everything they advertised. The restaurant was actually some of the better food we had in the islands. The rooms and location were clean and well maintained. The only reason I gave a 4 and not a 5 was that the AC was not working in our room. Sleeping was difficult due to warmth. Overall, a good but not great experience.

We stayed a week in May at the Best Semiramis. The buffet all inclusive food was great with daily changes of options like Tex Mex, Italian, Curry night etc. The breakfast was vast and lots of choice again. There was entertainment every evening in the bar. It was close to everything to walk to especially some beautiful botanical gardens 10 mins walk away. There was all the amenities you could need in the room and if you didn't have something the reception would know how to get it for you, eg a kettle for a small cost etc. A good week, we would definitely stay again.

Hotel was really nice and the views from the rooms are spectacular. It does feel a bit dated in places and the food at the buffet was often cold - also not very good at catering for vegetarians as there is a lot of careless cross contamination both by guests and staff.
Overall for the lower price for a hotel, did not expect amazing as you get what you pay for and we were happy with the stay for a couple of nights

We spent a week on Tenerife traveling every 1-2 nights. This was hands down the worst place we stayed. Our room was extremely hot and there was no available AC or fans. We openings our sliding good as often as we could but both of our next door patios were chain smoking. Our entire room smelled like an ashtray. There is not enough elevators to accommodate the number of guests. My daughter recently had knee surgery and this was a problem along with that the gym is run down with a lot of broken equipment and she couldn’t do her physio. The pool is fine, the water was very cold. The hotel is in need of some maintenance. The views are amazing and the breakfast was delicious. The cx staff was kind. We were meant to stay 2 nights and left first thing in the morning after one night and breakfast. I would NOT recommend this hotel. We stayed at 4 other lovely places through the island. This one was a miss.

We stayed at the \"resort\" for 8 nights.
Location is good when it comes to airport tranfer, bus stops, restaurants and old town. The check in employees looked fed up of tourists...the room was very big and all face the ocean. There is an issue with the elevators...we booked half board and every meal time, we had issues with finding a table, getting the table cleaned up, and the employees were running mad.it made for a very stressful experiment. 😳
To my eyes..this is not a five star hotel.

We have just returned from a week and an amazing time at Semiramis hotel. we highly recommend and we would definitely return.

While we were a bit unfortunate with 3 days of clouds due to kalima, the facilities of the hotel enabled us to nevertheless have a great time.

They have an outside pool which is a great length, depth, with loads of beds, showers, pool bar; they also have a lovely heated pool and an outside jacuzzi which adds to a great experience.

We were on an all inclusive package and the food was great, plenty of choices at breakfast, lunch and dinner and also the snacks between meals. Drinks are good too, plenty of choices. Every night, the hotel holds a themed dinner: Mexican, ethnic, Mediterranean, gala dinner (amazing fish & seafood dinner), Italian, etc. A lot of prepared food, cooked from fresh food, salads, all sort of dishes and sides, really not short of choice.

They do themed shows every night by the pool bar: Singers, dancers, Michael Jackson look alike, opera singer, a Latin band, etc. They organise daily activities like water polo, darts competition, archery, pizza making, acqua gym, pj party for kids, water castle by the pool, etc. The team running the animation by and at the pool is great, super accommodating, helpful, cheerful, always around and ready to help and assist.

We had a great time and good value for money.

Great place for families and retirees.

This was a very nice hotel with lots of amenities. The hotel is built into the side of a cliff, so all rooms are sea views. The food was excellent with a wide variety of choices. Drinks are reasonably priced. The only issues were 1) the AC was not operating, but the evenings were cool, so just opened the patio door, and 2) the water from the shower could go from warm to cold to scalding hot. Explore the area above the hotel as well as the area below. Lots of restaurants and shopping. Very reasonable prices. great place to buy electronics, cameras etc.

Nicely renovated bigger hotel just a couple of minutes to walk to the center of Puerto. We had a nice stay in the room, heated pool and area. You have a great view and really rooms with a lot of space. You can hear the waves and ocean all night, we loved it, some people do not. The price-quality ratio is absolutely good.

I had a room on one floor of the ones downstairs in the hotel and the whole hallway and rooms smell old pipes and it feels like a really awkward sewer smell

I don't know how they can give a five-star rating to a hotel like this that really looks like three-and-a-half or maximum four stars

the hotel also has no heating and air conditioning service only because you use one of the two so if you are hot unfortunately there is no way to place air conditioning

The internet is the worst service is very bad

the food To tell the truth, it leaves a lot to be desired Without variety it only has a kind of buffet that is really bad

And neither is it from a five star hotel

Most of the staff is friendly but others are really rude specifically if something is reported that is wrong

With respect to the location of the hotel and the views it has, the landscape is really beautiful, and the hotel rooms have a good view

3-Star Hotel Incorrectly Marketed As 5-Star

Our first impression of the Best Semiramis hotel in was to arrive in our rented vehicle in the evening and to find no parking. The hotel offers six small parking spaces for a huge property of 17-floors! So where was the parking that was advertised when I booked? Granted, it was stated that parking was limited, but I think six slots for a hotel that accommodates 1,000-plus guests should realistically be marked as “no on-site parking”. Street parking was free, but limited, so every night we found ourselves having to loop the block several times until an on-street parking space became available.

We were checked in promptly and were given a complimentary glass of (tinned) pineapple juice. The receptionist, Sara, was helpful and informative.

Our room, 601, was large but rather basic. It was kept clean, but we had to ask for tissues and thereafter we were given just two tissues per person per day, which was wholly insufficient. Also, there was a bin in the toilet, but none in the living area, so we had to ask for an extra bin too.

The hotel was marketed as a 5-star property and priced accordingly, in comparison with other hotels in Puerto de la Cruz, but it did not have even basic amenities.

The air-conditioner in the room did not work, so we alerted reception within an hour of our arrival, and again the following morning, but nobody ever visited the room and so nothing was done.

We had a bed and breakfast package, but breakfasts were unpleasant purely because we found more

Room lovely with a view of the town and the sea. Kept immaculately clean every day. Location good, not noisy or busy but close enough to walk to town, some gorgeous gardens, along the coastal path and to local shops & bars. Food was generally very good. some dishes were not to our taste but there was always plenty of choice. Salad buffet was especially good. The only slight negative was the quality of the entertainment wasn't always the best but that seems to be standard in hotels. Some of the hotel looks a little dated but all still very comfortable.Service was top notch.

Property location is good, on a cliff, all rooms have sea view. It’s 15-30 mins walking distance to beaches both sides, but the hotel has 2 pools - a smaller heated one and a bigger not heated one. We were there in November and the big one was too cold for us, weigh the ambient temp bring 22 deg on average. Buffet breakfast and dinner had a wide variety of dishes, but most of them were the same each day. Porridge wasn’t very good, wines at the bar are awful, my husband and I were sick on some days. Room was cleaned every day, but the hotel is a bit tired overall, there are far better 4*. There was one wonderful animator, Judith, who did yoga, stretching, Pilates and aqua gym classes for us, games in the afternoon. The hotel had shows on most nights.

Really great hotel on a cliff right next to the sea, lovely big rooms, great view from the balcony and with parking right outside. Staff are very polite and accommodating. Very good choice for the buffer breakfast but the food itself wasn’t that tasty. The rooms were cleaned daily but I would give the cleaning 7 out of 10. The WiFi was really really weak (almost non existent) during our first 5 days but, the last 2 days it was very good. There are quite a few cafes and restaurants very close by, about 2 minutes walk. For a 5 star hotel there was no room service. I would stay here if I ever visited again but I would class this more as a 4 star hotel because of no room service. Overall I would recommend this hotel as it was good value for what we paid.

Bad customer service and old hotel.

The receptionist attempted to be friendly, but we can see he is not friendly at all. When we ask him questions, he did not look at us, making us feel he is not polite at all. The hotel is very old, and the swimming pool is very dirty, I could not recommend people to live at this hotel.

Not a 5 star, but good.

In general very good stay. Big, clean and beautiful rooms. Looked forward to stay at this hotel and celebrate my 30th birthday. Was very surprised that hotel offered nothing extra for celebration, and we had to pay extra even for a tea cooker and for ironing our clothes. They have dress code at the restaurant, but no way to get your shirts ironed. You had to wait for 1 or 2 days to get your clothes.

We also ordered a spa package for couple at their spa, but when we arrived they said it was full, which was a huge disappointment, as we looked forward for a relaxing celebration. The next day we went to spa, but it was very small and massage was very basic.

Great dinner and breakfast. No drinks were included at the dinner. We had half board.

Overall ok, but if you are looking for a good celebration, then choose another hotel.

Definitely not 5 star but has several good points

Positives: Comfortable, smart room with balcony and stunning sea views. Good selection of food on buffet, even for vegetarians. Cook-to-order grilling / stir fry stations especially good. Spa area and internal pool well maintained. Puerto de la Cruz offers a more Spanish feel than the more touristic resorts.
Negatives: VERY dated and run-down public areas. Cold outdoor pool. Charges for spa use. You can get one free pass to spa, but only if you demand it at Reception. Fairly long steep walk from centre of town. No parking on site, so you normally have to park a way down the road and walk back. Definitely not 5 star standard, facilities or service. Very elderly clientele makes it feel like you’re staying in a care home (sorry to be harsh, but honest)

Past its Best Semiramis Hotel

We had a very good stay and have no complaints. The hotel was a bit dilapidated and a 3.5 star. However it was cheap relative to all the others in the area. Breakfast was good, great choice. Staff where lovely and very hard working but not enough of them. The rooms are large and clean with great views. Pillows uncomfortable as where the beds a bit. Overall a lovely hotel but we'll beyond its salad days..needs maintenance.

I can't say if the hotel is 5 star, hotel staff was certainly very good. Little facilities like tea cattle were charged at 3 euros per day. The food was almost the same every day, there were little or no options for vegetarians.
Good things about the hotel are, the view is fantastic and easy walk to Port de la Cruz main market. The hotel staff were usually cheerful with few exceptions.

This hotel is no where near the beach, it’s states it’s 10 minutes but you are on a very steep hill and it takes about 1 hour to walk down to the beach !! The outside pool is freezing, the facilities were okay, food was just okay very basic, if you like Germans then this is the place to be in as everyone was German and the surrounding areas were all German ! On the plus the room was great and the hotel was super clean with fresh towels every day. This hotel is defo a not a 5 star hotel. Overall it was okay we won’t be rushing to go back anytime soon.

Arrived around 14:30 but our room was not available. No one explained why. Took at least another 30 mins before it was ready. The staff did provide us with cold drinks while we waited and also gave us a free pass to the Spa for our trouble.
The hotel building would once have been a \"Palace\" but is now a little tired although not awful. The reception area is spacious with lots of glass but still somehow managed to be a little dull. The 4 main lifts were fine but there was a single lift to rear entrance of the hotel was off most of the week. This was unfortunate as we used this entrance most.
The room was spacious and had two double beds which were very comfortable. The room was cleaned every day.
My only real problem with the room was that the aircon didn't work. It is the type 'built in' to the structure of the building. We found the room hot and had to sleep with the balcony door open. This proved very noisy. In addition to the traffic on the road below there was a constant crashing of waves onto a disused seawater swimming pool. It is loud! Unheated pool was great, heated pool ok.
Restaurant is nice and breakfast was good. Bar and entertainment was .. Meh. A bit dated for me and I'm no spring chicken, but others seemed happy enough with it.
Not the most modern hotel but we enjoyed it. Staff were nice, room and hotel are clean. Yes, I would return IF they fixed the aircon which reduced it to a 7/10.

Very nice and clean hotel, but

When we arrived, the reception staff were less than helpful and our room wasn’t ready, even though we arrived around 4pm.
Our room was fantastic and with a very comfortable large bed and nice balcony area. Every day the maids cleaned the room spotlessly with no problems.
Breakfast was good but I would advise going before 9:30, as everyone swarms in and the quality of the food goes down compared to earlier in the morning.
The pool area is nice, the pool could do with an update as there are loose tiles along the bottom of the pool. I wouldn’t advise eating at the pool bar, the food was not of a good quality and the order came out wrong.
Other than that the hotel is very nice and clean and I would recommend staying here.
