Fantastic stay with great value for money and stunning views of Mt. Teide. The staff were welcoming and professional, and the food was outstanding—especially the poke bowl! The evening entertainment was a highlight of our visit. Parking was a bit limited, but it was an easy walk to Puerto de la Cruz, so it wasn’t a problem. Highly recommend!

Dated hotel on outskirts of town.

The hotel is a bit dated and old fashioned and its clientele seem to largely be bus tours and package tourists. It is out of the central town area, up a hill, but it is an easy 25 minute walk down and there are buses to come up the hill from part of town.
The swimming pool area is lovely and well maintained and the main attraction to the property.
They allow smoking on balconies, encouraged by ashtrays on the balcony tables. This meant it was unpleasant to sit on the balcony or have my door open for fresh air. The staff were not friendly and can best be described as bored indifference, both the front desk and restaurant. I don’t think I saw one of them crack a smile let alone welcome a guest. The cleaning and bar staff were friendly as usual.

Hotel with a wonderful area inside!

Pros:

Room was very clean. The furniture is in good condition (some new, some older). The mini-fridge was surprisingly spatious. The terraces are big equipped with clothes rack to dry them if needed.

Surely, they propose cleaning and change of towels every day, but we asked for it only two times during our 9-night stay. Second time they changed the linens as well.

Staff were all nice. Receptionists and bar/restaurant personell were helpful and attentive, and cleaning staff were top.

The pull area and gardens are beautiful and well maintained. You can play mini-golf, ping-pong and tennis for free.

Common areas are clean and in a good condition. Private parking has very limited amount of spaces, so we never catched it free, but around the hotel there are plenty of spaces, so we could find place even during the dinner when all people return back to the hotel.

Breakfasts were ok, more or less the same all the time, but dinners were really good and different each day. Some days better, some worse, but overall it was always possible to find something for ones taste. Desserts were ok, ice cream was nice.

We were in January, so I cannot evaluate air conditioning.

Cons:

They don't propose draft beer during the dinner.

The heated pool could be warmer. Surely, it was warmer than non-heated ones, but still. There were barely a few people swimming.

It was not our case, but some economy rooms seem to hava no view at all (on the wall), so it is better to verify with the hotel.

Overall good .
The place was in a good condition.
All staff was very nice and friendly.
You need to be in a good physical condition if you want to go outside he hotel to visit the beaches and the rest of Puerto de la Cruze as i was very elevated.
The place was at our stay completely invaded by German retired couples.
We had he half board and he buffé was no bad but could have been a bit better. Many of the dishes should needed a bit more of seasoning.
The pools was said to be heated during winter time, his I doubt except from the 2 whirlpools.

Very nice and comfortable hotel. Lovely pool and bar area. Always lots of bed to use are the pool area.
Room was very comfortable, being alone I had a smaller room which was a generous size. Bath and mini fridge was most appreciated. Down size was having to pay extra for the room safe, prefer this just to be added to the room cost. I was on the 4th floor at the end of the block, lovely view of the pool and mountain area, road traffic was a little loud if on the balcony. The room cleaning was very high standard, and all the hand rails were always being cleaned.
Very pleased with the choice of food. Fab paella! Nice area outside to sit and eat.

An incredible hotel. For the price we paid it exceeded our expectation. Good selection of food, friendly staff. Incredie view from the balcony. Some who were not great at english would be fast to find a staff member who can help further. Rooms cleaned daily to a high standard. Great facilities and in a prime location. Couldn't fault it.

The breakfast options were really good. They had really nice pancakes and other dessert options. The views were amazing from my room and from the restaurant. From the restaurant you can see Mount Teide summit as long as the sky is clear. From the bedroom I could see other mountains, beautiful palm trees, the swimming pools, the sea, the main town. The hotel is at a high viewpoint which helps with the scenery. Although this makes the walk back from the main town a struggle up the hill, but the walk is definitely good. It takes about 15-20 mins to walk to town. They have a 5 to 6 free shuttles buses per weekday to Puerto de la Cruz. There's no free buses on Sunday and Saturday is a limited service.

The car park is small, and we'd get back too late for it. But I was always able to find street parking nearby in March. If you're hiring a car, this hotel is ideal as it is not in the main town, where parking is very limited.

The hotel has a very nice gym, tennis court, mini golf area. I was very impressed with the pool area. There are 4 pools and they are arranged nicely around nice trees.

The bathroom has 2 sinks which was handy for both of us. The balcony views were lovely. The beds were comfortable. The hotel room is a little old fashioned but there were still some modern elements such as the bathroom. The hotel is very clean.

I really liked the main lift as you can see it move up from the front of the hotel. The outside lighting was lovely. Overall I'd stay there again.

Beautiful exterior, nice rooms, strong tap and toilet water flow (but weak shower head), breakfast included, with a nice selection of food to choose from, although the cereal quality was rather poor so if management could upgrade that then breakfast would be even better. All in all a good quality stay and in a lovely location, if the price is right I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

I moved over from el trope after the first night. It’s always a gamble doing that but man did I ever make a great decision. For the same price point, the facilites and staff are incredible. The bar staff in particular were extra special and fun and made me feel so welcome!! It is a bit off the ‘strip’ lol but only about a ten minute walk… or sometimes when I was feeling lazy a 4 euro cab ride! My only criticism was the constant ‘extras’, the gym, the safe, the dang luggage scale and deposit for the pool towels. Maybe it’s a ‘Spain’ thing but it’s annoying.

Just an overnight stay passing through Puerto de La Cruz, but long enough for me to form an impression of the hotel, and it was all good. I tend not to stay in resort hotels very often, but I wanted a pool and a gym, so it suited me perfectly.

My room was clean and comfortable. There was a welcome bottle in the fridge and fruit in a basket. There was a terrace - the view was a bit rubbish, but to be honest I didn’t expect an outside space, and I didn’t plan on spending much time there anyway.

The pool area was spacious, with lots of beds and plenty of sunny spots. Breakfast was busy, but very organised and well staffed, so it felt fine. The quality and variation of food on offer was far better than what I expected, and would give many more expensive places a run for their money.

The Puerto Palace isn’t a new property, but it’s perfectly maintained, spotlessly clean and very well run. It was excellent value for money, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. It seems they’ve been around long enough to know exactly what people want. There’s a system, and it works!

One gripe - one of the reasons I chose the hotel was because it had a gym, but I wasn’t prepared for short hours over the weekend. Nor did I expect to have to pay. There were several locals working out in there, so I suspect it is run independently. Having said that, it was excellent, and €7 per visit (€30/wk) wasn’t so bad beating in mind the price of my room, quality of breakfast, free secure parking etc.

Lovely stay at the Palace

I loved my stay at Puerto Palace. The reception staff were helpful and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, the pool area was nice and large enough to always find a bed, the service at the pool was a bit slow but the staff were nice so made up for it, the breakfast was average.

The only thing I would say is that the hotel feels old like it’s from the 90s BUT it’s well maintained so things work absolutely fine and it’s reflected in the price which is very reasonable.

The restaurant had a good range for breakfast and dinner, I struggled slightly being vegetarian as not all of the food was labelled as to whether it contained meat. The pool and Jacuzzis were lovely. About 10 minutes walk downhill to the beach, it took us 20 minutes to walk to loro parque.

We asked for a king-size bed and asked for a room on the top floor, despite the long time available to them, did not respond to our request (simple requests by all accounts)
At dinner there is no drinking water and they are obliged to purchase it in order to drink even water
Great pressure of guests in the dining room, crowded dining room.
There is a wide variety of food. Rich menu for breakfast and dinner.
Curiously, a fee is required to use the in-room safe.
The surroundings, and the pool environment are charming.
The hotel has free parking

I found the reception staff very unfriendly and abrupt in manner. Others were served before my partner and I even though we were in the queue first at reception.
However the domestic staff were friendly as were the restuarant staff.
I would not recommend this hotel if you are not spanish or German.

The staff is very polite, helpfull and make you feel welcome. The breakfast was doll, same food every day, no cakes or pies, so when staying a week in the hotel its kinda depressing.
The room was clean, the bathroom has no window and no ventilation system so...
We took a room with the ocean view and the view was perfect.
Location:10 min walk from the seashore.
In general this is a goid hotel.

The dates of my stay was February 14th -18th 2018 and over 90% of the hotels in the north of the island were completely booked due to carnival. The grounds are immaculate and the pool area is simply stunning. I was lucky to have nothing but blue skies and temperatures in the high 60s to low 70s so was able to sit out in the sun by the pool.

I had a standard double room booked and the room itself was clean and the bed comfortable. However, you are not provided with wash cloths for showering, nor conditioner for your hair. Also there was only ONE outlet to plug in anything in the room. There's an outlet in the bathroom, but who wants to charge their phone in there? In order to compensate, we had to unplug the refrigerator and use that outlet.

It's also important to note that there is no room service. Dinner at the hotel was a blah affair. Eat out. The food is better in town. The bar is pretty decent and the nightly entertainment is targeted to the over 60 crowd.

A super stay. Our only comment is that my wife, who is lactose intolerant, had very little choice of food, even lactose free milk or soya was not available at breakfast for her tea or cereal, such a shame when it is available in most other hotels.

Rude and aggressive waiter

Experienced a lot of road noise early mornings and late at night. Dinner main courses very bland and barely warm. Have never stayed in a 4 star hotel with such rude and unfriendly waiters, One in particular (Abrante) thought it okay to rant and shout at us (in Spanish) along with much finger wagging as we approached what appeared to be an unoccupied table set for two. Apparently it had been \"reserved\" for another guest who then materialised! Unfortunately we had no way of predicting this as we're not psychic! An appalling and unacceptable way of communicating with guests which I feel sadly reflects the attitude to guests in what is clearly not a 4 star hotel.

I would not recommend Hotel Puerto Palace and would never return!

Great hotel to relax

The hotel is great if you are looking for a relaxing holiday. My friend and I are in our 30s and we wanted to stay in somewhere nice and soak some sun.
The guests at the hotel tend to be older so you can relax by the pool without having to deal with missbehaving crowds. It's 20 minutes from the town centre and has various restaurants nearby.

The staff was brilliant, always very helpful and continuously making sure everywhere was tidy and clean.
Unlike other hotels we weren't pestered with reception trying to upsell any tours or additional services. If we asked for anything, they would suggest different options on where to go and how to get there without spending too much money. I highly recommend it.

Great hotel, all rooms with balcony, yummi buffet

Wonderful place for singles, too. You can enjoy outdoor hotel pools, jacuzzi, 4th floor nudes only terrace with jacuzzi and fantasticly refreshing cold pool for free, also tennis, gym, gym classes for extra pay of course. Beach with wild waves mostly and volcanic sand with restaurant and bar about 10 min walk. Sunbed 3 euro. I also recommend to rent a car, easy parking everywhere. Wonderful small town, Spanish feel, amusement park for kids, a lot of great Tapas and seafood places, cocktails, clubs also 10 minutes slow walk. Markets and supermarkets about 5 minutes walk. I'm back to explore more next year.

Very good. The room was comfortable and size was ideal. Restaurant service was good, plenty of food variety.
Pool and the facilities were very good, clean environment. Room was generally clean. The only downside was that the shower head wasn't working properly & bathroom soap etc was not replaced/topped up until we vacated after 4 nights.

A PLEASANT ENOUGH HOTEL BUT A LITTLE BLAND AND SOULLESS. I have stayed there many times but they did not welcome me back or use my name.Some of the staff need to be told to smile more.Many hotels in Puerto treat guests as a number rather than a person,I have been visiting since 1978 and have stayed in most of the major hotels, I return because of the climate and the beauty of North Tenerife not because I am made to feel welcome.

Quiet location, but not too far away to find fun

Second stay at Puerto Palace. Liked the fact it is in a residential suburb. Hotel bus can take you into town, though the walk down is pretty easy. Found the walk back was up hill so either used the hotel bus or a Taxi. € 3.00
There was evening entertainment and we enjoyed Tito, as he sung well.
The pool area is lovely as it is attractive, and it is kept clean.. There is even a little kiddies pool around the side.
Papa Noel made a visit in Christmas Day.
The staff do try and make everything as festive as possible..and the staff in the dining room work very hard to make sure you are ok.

The hotel was clean and well presented, nothing was too much for the staff. Dining offered a wide variety of choice for both breakfast and evening meal, which was good value for money too. The hotel was situated approximately a 10 - 15 minute walk from the main shops but was good exercise, especially walking up the steep streets. The neighbourhood was quiet.

Great hotel set in stunning gardens

As a single woman traveller I had a great stay. I found the hotel staff welcoming, helpful and efficient. A small problem with the shower was fixed within minutes of my reporting it. My room was a good sized double room looking out onto a quiet back street with pleasant balcony. The hotel is spotlessly clean and recently re-decorated with a contemporary feel. I found the food in the restaurant offered a wide choice with good variation over the week. The waiters were polite and helpful. I used the lagoon type pool and sat out in the gardens when it was not too cool. This hotel is ideal for couples or singles wanting a quiet break... it is away from the noise of the centre of town with good sports facilities and excellent public transport links nearby. Walking into the centre takes about 15 minutes going down but longer coming up... the hotel is situated uphill from the main town. The wifi worked well in the reception area but not in individual rooms. I enjoyed my 9 days and felt relaxed and chilled at the end of my stay. This is the sixth time I have stayed at this hotel and look forward to returning.

convenient location. .. easy transport links and the free bus to town us useful but didn't really use. hotel mainly elderly people , evening entertainment repetitive and not for the under 60s in my view.
reception staff unhelpful particularly in regard to booking trips as I was told I would have to make my own bookings at the individual attractions, when I later found that it could be done at the hotel.
The food is also limited and repetitive. breakfast could be improved. .... ate out twice as wasn't very keen on the evening offering altho I booked half board.
still enjoyed my break it's what you make it and not to depend on others.

Needs a bit of work

I don't mind a budget hotel, but unfortunately Puerto Palace offers amenities that it is unable to live up to. The wifi was TERRIBLE, we were only occasionally able to connect and one ever down in the lobby (and only parts of it). This seemed to be the case for everyone else as well, given the number of people congregating there. The breakfast was of similar quality. There was no \"real\" coffee available (the machine was dispensing instant coffee that proved unpalatable), every morning it was a fight to find a table even though they had at least two parts of the dining room marked as closed, and the food available was of very low quality. Fruit out of a can, mushy tomatoes, cereal that was gathering dust, empty containers of milk. I would rather have had a hotel that did not offer breakfast.
The rooms were clean and everything worked in the room (aside from any wifi). The pool was beautiful, but there were a lot of ants and the flooring around the pool was so sticky that my flip flops got stuck and one ripped in half!
Every night there was loud, terrible music in the lobby that thankfully did not carry to our room.
Overall our stay was fine, but I certainly won't be booking Puerto Palace again.

A smoky 4 star hotel.

Build on a steep hill. Quite tiring to walk up the hill to the hotel. 12 mins to centre. Lovely pool area. Nice ball room. Evening acts ok. Magician show fab. 'Food is plentiful but not that tasty. 3.15 € for taxi to bus station. €9.55 for transfer by bus to TFS airport using a bono card. Wi Fi connection poor in bedroom. Had to connect in reception area. Many people tend to sit in the reception Area after meal on their iPads. Cost to use room safe. Cost to use TV remote control - hard to believe I know. Happy hour 5-6pm for cocktails costing just under a fiver for two cocktails. Reception staff useful and nice. Left our baggage in a baggage room on day o departure . Biggest negative of our week at Puerto palace was the smoky atmosphere in the hotel as they kept all door open allowing second hand smoke to drift over you where ever you are in the hotel. Smoky atmosphere on our own balcony and around pol area. They need non smoking areas. The smoke split my holiday triggering off my headaches almost every night. Plentilful food. Great variety. Average quality . Puddings were cold and no hot puddings were supplied . Cakes were very creamy but tasteless. We tended to stay with fish and veggie options as they tended to be safe options. Did not provide water on tables unless you bought it from them costing twice the shop price.. Overall a nice hotel, clean, well furnished, spacious rooms.

Disappointment

I looked at several hotels around and this one get the best rate. However when I get there I saw it's very old fashioned hotel. Room facility was not so good, Beds was NOT comfortable any regular services such as T.V. remote control and safe was extra charge. When we arrived stuff was not so nice to us, we get no explanations about the surroundings, Pool and garden was beautiful. General Disappointment.

Only English guest in hotel. Poor WiFi. Only 1 socket in double room ! Bed linen of poor quality and bed uncomfortable, but room kept clean by excellent room staff. Felt unwelcome.

Lovely clean and welcoming hotel

Had a lovely clean room, excellent food and good service. An older clientele (mainly Spanish & German) gave the hotel a relaxed and quiet feeling. No rush for sun loungers as most people seemed to go out for the day meaning an uncluttered pool to relax by and swim in. Excellent value for money overall. Hotel is in Puerto Cruz at the North of Tenerife. We hired a car which was good value and meant we could scoot about without getting bogged down with transfers and tours. Plenty parking around the hotel. Lovely view of the Teide volcano from the poolside.

A great hotel for your holidays

Staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms and pool and jacuzzi facilities excellent, food first class for a buffet with plenty of choice. Free WiFi in main areas, altogether an excellent place to relax and enjoy a holiday. A good walk from the centre meant the need for taxis most days but, at the same time, meant peace and quiet away from the madding crowd.

Excellent place!

We had a fantastic time during our stay at this hotel in the Christmas week and the hotel exceeded my expectations. When we planned our vacation, we were still weighing up whether to stay in the south or the north part of Tenerife. Most of the hotels in the south were massively overpriced during the Christmas week. Then we saw Hotel Puerto Palace which was priced very reasonably and seemed to have great reviews. So I booked my stay but was still a bit unsure of what to expect. I was clearly wrong in my concerns as the hotel really ticked all the boxes and I cannot fault them on any issue. The only point I would raise is about the variety of food that thy include in the dinner buffet. While the food may be acceptable to people with Western tastes, there really is no suitable option at all for those wanting some vegetarian or Asian cuisine options. Our stay was half board (dinner included) for 6 nights but we ended up dining at the hotel only for 2 nights due to this reason. I would suggest that people having specific choice of cuisine should rather go for only the breakfast inclusive deal and dine outside. This is not a problem as there are many good eating places near the hotel.

Excellent quality for the price

This is the 2nd time my family 2 adults 1 child have stayed at this hotel. July 2004, returning July 2009. Rooms are a good size we were lucky enough on our 2nd visit to get a room with a large balcony on 2nd floor, air conditioning, plenty of wardrobe space, a mini fridge, large double sink, toilet, bidet, shower over bath hairdryer.
The hotel has a minibus into/return Puerto during the day. It is a 15 min walk from Plaza Del Charco very easy walk as it is all downhill. I reccomend taxi back which will cost about 3 euros.
Hotel has good selection of buffet food and a chef on the grill cooking meats, plenty of choice for everyone and of a good standard too. You will not go hungry.
Staff are always helpfull. Hotel has an enertainment programme and they put on some really good acts. They also do activities not on the norm such as spanish lessons, organised walks around Puerto.
The best bit of the hotel are the swimming pools, fantastic, the pool area has gorgeous sculpted gardens and it really does feel like you are on holiday it's not just a concrete block. The main pool has a sloped access like walking into the sea and is shaped like a lagoon and is standable in all areas I am 5'3. The colder pool is circular and has a waterfall cascading down. There is a smaller pool for toddlers but the main pool is shallow on the slope so most children play there. There are 2 jacuzzis and also a rooftop pool for nudists. A lifeguard is on duty from morning until about 6pm.

Nice Hotel

I stayed a week in May. I believe I did not pay much as compared to busy season. The hotel' s room was beautiful-the same as pic they show on the Website. The room has a balcony. As room amenities, they have a in-room safe, but you have to pay before you use. The gym is the same. If you want to use it, you have to pay. They have a daily and weekly price for staying guests. It cost 5 euro a day and 15 euro for a week. Also, their complementary breakfast are excellent. There were many different kinds of food, so you should find something you like. Oh, only one thing, the housekeeping attendants will enter the room, even though you place \"Do Not Disturb\" sign on the door (i put it, but they entered room everyday...)

Trist hotell. Nästan endast pensionärer här. Frukosten är trist. Finns mycket att välja på men det är låg kvalitet och tråkiga upplägg. Kaffet är riktigt dåligt, juicen är från maskin och smakar illa. Billiga pålägg och billig yoghurt. Läget är dåligt, tar 15-20 minuter att gå till de centrala delarna och resturang kvarteren. Notera också att det är mycket (!) branta backar. Rummen är ok men kala och opersonliga, sängarna är hårda. Liten tv med dålig mottagning. Wifi fungerar knappt någonstans och när det fungerar är det mycket långsamt. Litet kylskåp utan hyllor, ingen mini bar, ingen vattenkokare. Parkeringsgaraget är för litet , alltid fullt. Man kan dock parkera gratis på gatan. Lite anmärkningsvärt är att personalen inte hälsar. Gäller både reception, matsal och städpersonal. Slutsats - Ett hotell som låtsas vara mycket finare än vad det faktiskt är.
