Didnt see shopping, the man at the desk that checked us in was the friendliest person i have ever encountered working at a hotel....he is who i would want greeting us every time we came in/ back from the hockey game/ even tho the sharks lost, asked us if we still had a blast...

Bar was open only until 11pm on a Saturday night after a Sabres win. There were 13 of us at the bar willing to stay and pay for drinks, but bartender (bar manager also?) Said no. Also, we could not turn the heat down and our room was extremely hot, 75 degrees, AND this is the second straight year this has happened to us. Finally, it took 3 guest services calls and finally a visit to the front desk to get a fan.

This was supposedly designed for a personal with disabilities. The toilet in the bathroom was too low to the floor and the bathroom was not friendly accessible for somebody with disabilities. The bed was too low to the floor and there was no microwave in the room. You have to use a microwave in the hallway. I’ve never heard of that at a Hyatt hotel or Hilton Hotel or any major hotel that you have to use a microwave in the hallway …unfathomable!

My son really enjoyed the pool! Great view. It was nice having a casual dining option available as well as Starbucks. The gentleman at the front desk was so polite and friendly.

The hotel rooms and pool area are extremely dated. The hotel room itself is like an oven. Even after calling maintenance to open a window and getting a fan it was uncomfortable sleeping and just existing in the room.

the room was amazing! we have stayed here several time, the bed is extremely comfortable! the only complaint is, the shower had only cold water. i know things happen, but when you have a sold out hotel, and when i paid almost $400/night, i dont think hot water is too much to ask for!

The check in guy was really nice.
The front driveway is absolutely chaotic. Cars parked everywhere.
The room wasn't very good. The hallway noise was loud, black mold in the shower (no fan) and hole in the wall in the bathroom. I accidentally booked this property and never again.

Other than the lobby the place was so dirty. Our room had MOLD in the bathroom and the dirty box springs were left visible with no sheets on them. My daughter woke up with a bug bite on her so naturally I was worried there were bed bugs with the environment. We didn’t see any but when I lifted the sheets, the under sheets were stained yellow. The pool area was also disgusting. Rust around the pool everywhere and had an awful smell in the area. The pool look itself looked poorly taken care of and was genuinely concerned about letting my kids swim in it. The only positive was the front desk staff was incredibly nice, but everything was terrible.

The property felt less like a Hyatt Regency and more like a Holiday Inn Express. The staff were mostly great and it's everything you need in a hotel - clean, tidy, just not living up to the Hyatt Regency brand standard. The Junior Suite was huge - a lot of floor space divided into a very spacious bed area and a nice living room area with full couch, desk, etc. The fully separate kitchen was a nice surprise. However, everything was dated and tatty. The bed frame was squeaky and straight out of the Golden Girls. Bathroom fixtures were rusty, toilet we had to hold the handle to get it to flush. Kitchen was pure 1980s country honey wood. The carpeting was mis-installed or poorly repaired after a water leak maybe. Wallpaper peeling off. Pot light fixtures starting to come out of the ceiling. Furniture was old and nicked, we had a power bar on the floor to make up for missing standards like built-in USB plugs and integrated bedside power. The public areas were overwhelmed with unattended, swarming children. \"Every weekend until April,\" seemingly some kids hockey something. We didn't try the pool. I was expecting a proper restaurant with some refinement, not standard induction tray self-serve with powdered eggs and mealy blond potatoes. I've had better quality at a Hyatt Place and would never have paid $26 per person had I known.

Overall I'm not unhappy - it is everything you need in a tourist-class hotel, but it is not a Hyatt Regency standard.

The guestroom was clean and accommodating for 4 persons. However, only three (3) sets of towels were available. Note: when you have the number of persons confirmed in one room, make sure the towel sets, pillows and other in-room amenities accommodate all four persons. The restaurant menu was accommodating to all food preferences. Thank you!

Beautiful building, historical value (Genesse). The room was spacious but the view out the window was ugly, seeing a rooftop. The worst part of the experience was the lack of heat. We called room service and a technician came to reintroduce heat to our room. The amount of heat was barely adequate, the washroom was left cold.

Pool / changerooms were in bad shape. Water smelled poorly and had bits floating in it. Changerooms had a shower out of order and the other one had peeled paint all in it.

Ice machine on our floor was broken, but grateful the Out of Order sign indicated which other floors had a machine.

Room was clean, and staff was very friendly. Was able to check in early which was very positive.

Check in was at 4 pm. We were there at 4:20 and told that the single King rooms were not ready yet and we would have to wait. Unacceptable as we had plans to be somewhere and needed to do a quick turn after check in. Instead os solutions, we just got excuses until we got stern and were give a junior suite for 1 room and 2 double for another. Just a bad experience overall.

We were welcomed by Daryl at the front desk who was very helpful, courteous, informative, and has a great personality. Every hotel should have a “Daryl”. Lobby bar/restaurant is bright, food was good and the staff were pleasant. Our room was clean, well appointed and the bed was comfortable.

Picketing was going on. Couldn’t get in the driveway to unload. Went through snow banks to get out on the side street to check in. The manager was awesome and friendly. Spent a lot of money for a room. Went to the Sabres game and when our group got back grill had stopped serving

Check in experience was lacking. Originally assigned a room with no heat (50 degrees). Called the desk to notify them and they said someone from engineering would come take a look. An hour later after no one had showed called back and requested a new room. Advised hotel was very busy but was sending someone from engineering right away. Worker arrived, could not get the heat fixed after 30 minutes. Worker then called and advised them to move us and stated someone would deliver keys to a different room. Took another 30 minutes for keys to show up. Moved to a room with two double beds with a large separate seating area from a corner room with a king bed. No offer from management to make it right.

I love how QUIET it was in the room. I cannot underscore enough how big of a deal the quiet is. The lobby is beautiful. The only negative is the restaurant on site (Genesee I think? ) had 1 girl working Saturday night, she spent all her time at the bar and virtually ignored me for 20 mins didn't even greet me & then was rude & dismissive \"I'm busy.\" I was 1 person & it was NOT at all crowded...Finally had to flag another lady working & she apologized for the service & even brought me a snack but for 1 person who just wanted 1 entrée & no drinks, i was there over 2 hours. Again, was not that busy. Otherwise great experience dinnerwas delicious when it finally came. Hotel was clean, quiet, front-end staffing were all top notch 👌

This was a loud hotel. There was some kid hockey thing so tons of kids running around, slamming doors, being loud, messing with the elevators. Little seemed to be done to reduce the noise. Fun having to listen to until almost midnight.
Staff was nice, things were relatively clean all hallways i saw needed a good vacuuming.

Visited for a couples weekend away with my husband for our ten year anniversary. The staff were very friendly, courteous and attentive. Valet was top notch! Both on-site restaurants were wonderful however the Starbucks coffee was cold both times we got it.
The King room was average at best, with some upgrades but could still use some additional improvements. The bed was okay but could feel it already had some indents, pillows were good. Small fridge. No view of the city. The walls are very thin, we could hear the gentlemen in the suite beside us and anyone using the washroom above us. No fan in the bathroom. Microwave down the hall where the ice machine (broken) was located.
The hotels location is very convenient with restaurants and shopping nearby or within a very short drive. There is ample parking directly across the street on two different blocks (plus the on-site valet for an additional daily cost).

This hotel is currently going through an employee/union issue. So when you arrive, you'll be greeted with a giant inflatable rat out front along with protesting employees. Check in was fast and the room was great. The pillows are basically useless, so flat. And there is no air conditioning in the winter, which I like to sleep in the cold.

The desk attendant asked me how was my stay but he clearly didn't mean it because when I said the room was hot and I turned off the heat completely as the sign directed, he said well, it's an old building and I should've requested a box fan. Yeah dude, I'll call you all for a box fan that I don't know you have at 3am. Would be helpful if they got in front of this problem with signage.
