The room was clean. Smaller than expected, but fine for two people. The bed was comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Elevators were small and very busy. Didn't eat at the restaurant, but it was nice it was available. Location was perfect for what we needed - close to a few subway lines and easy to walk over to the ferry and Statue of Liberty viewing.

Family of 3- room was exactly what we expected. Location was great! We love to utilize the subway and this hotel was close to 3 different transit lines which made it super easy for us to navigate and get anywhere we needed to be in Manhattan. Loved being able to walk to Staten Island Ferry, Wall Street, Battery Park, and loads of local eateries like Liberty Bagel and Tacombi. We loved being able to have somewhere safe to keep our luggage before we checked in and after check out so we could continue to explore NYC. All the staff were lovely and the hotel was impeccably clean.

Yudika was absolutely outstanding in demonstrating professionalism while making the customer feel as though his request was satisfied. In my opinion, he took the “ privileged” roll knowing the customary check-in and check out process with respect to snacks. The customer basically demanded to receive snacks all the snacks on checkout. Great stay, but the elevators need better coordination.

The room was very clean. There is no refrigerator. I had left overs from dinner but no where to put them. There appeared to be a small refrigerator but it was not cold. I asked the clerk, she said it was a \"cooling drawer\" but it wasn't cool. I told her that, she didn't have much to say. There is also no microwave in the room to warm food if there were leftovers. The room was quite small, very little vanity top space but it is in downtown. The neighbor Italian restaurant was magnificent for dinner. Breakfast to order was marginal, food wasn't served very warm. Had the buffet the next day but the food wasn't very warm either. Coffee was barely warm both days.
During check in, I was first told no rooms were ready at 3 pm. We sat in the lobby, saw another woman walk up and check in. My wife decided to try to check in and the other clerk gave her a room. Elevators were very slow. Plan on 10 minutes or more to travel the elevator. Location was very convenient to many amenities.

It was OK. Nothing memorable. The elevators were awful. They were three elevators but at any given time only one was working. So with 43 floors and only three elevator elevators, it was a challenge to get up and down every single time. Sometimes the elevator would stop at every floor. The building is old. The location was fine because it was very close to Subway station and there was a restaurant and cafés nearby.. if I had to go for work, it was OK but definitely wouldn’t go back for vacation.

Room was super clean and the AC worked beautifully. The only thing we weren’t a fan of was the motion sensing bathroom light that would turn on if you needed to use the restroom in the middle of the night. The elevator down button on our floor (14th) was not working so we had to take the stairs down a floor to access the elevators. Otherwise, we would stay here again, access to the trains was extremely convenient.

The elevators were extremely slow. Particularly in the mornings many people were standing in line. I eventually used the stairs. More importantly, my room is very noisy. I could hear the coughs and sneezing of people using the bathroom. Not sure if it’s next-door or coming through the air vent from across the hall. I had to sleep with a pillow over my head to block out the snoring.

Absolutely would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to NYC, convenient to subway also located an easy walk to Battery Park and Wall St. many places to eat and shop.
The staff were very attentive and helpful. The hotel was clean and the rooms were great. Only minor complaint was waiting for the elevator.

Hotel in a great location, proactive and friendly staff. Room was functional although a little tired in places, but comfy bed, nice bathroom amenities and view from the room. Major issue is the lifts/elevators - had significant waits (up to 10 mins) for a lift to arrive, and check out morning many other customers weren’t able to get in when the lifts arrived at their floors as they were full.

Not the quality I expected from a Hilton hotel and the price I paid.
The room was extremely small and had no microwave nor refrigerator. The bathroom had absolutely ZERO counter space, except for 1 small glass shelf. Nor was there any place to hang wet towels except for 1 hook.
The fan in the bathroom didn’t work and there was an odor, like sewage, coming from the sink.
The hallways were very narrow
There were only 2 elevators for a 41 story building and we occasionally had to ride with the cleaning crew and all their products.

We had a great stay at the Doubletree for the last week. The location was convenient to the subway and walking downtown, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. My only complaint was that the elevators were so S-L-O-W. It would take up to 10 minutes for an elevator to come when called, so we learned we had to plan accordingly and that going downstairs or getting back to our room was never quick.

Originally booked a room facing the lake. (Which we were excited about, since it was our 1st ever visit to NYC). Upon arrival they let us know that they had \"maintenance issues\" with our room and sent us to a different room. What a bummer..
Everything else was great! 5 stars for allowing visitors to check their bags in while they explore!
(dont forget to tip those gentlemen) they were great! Clean hotel, friendly, and worth staying

This was an awesome birthday experience. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, the young gentleman at the front , Chris, was such a great help. All of the hotel staff that I encounter were extremely polite. I loved the check in goodies (free water, popcorn, and warm cookies). The view from my room on the 44th floor was gorgeous (looking over a body of water. Great proximity to we’ll know NY landmarks. I couldn’t have asked for a better hotel experience.

External noise was very bad. We could hear people in the hallway talking. Noise from outside was very noticeable. Woke up every morning because of cars honking. Sink in bathroom was cracked. Room was the size of a cruise ship room. My reservation was suppose to be 2 queen beds and they were doubles.

Great room and space was fine - was thinking room would be smaller! Coffee maker was a bonus. Staff at desk were always lovely and friendly. Mostly fine for waiting for lifts/elevators but at busier times was a longer wait. There are 3 though so wasn’t too bad as other reviews worried me about this before going. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Had to ask for firmer pillow though - they accommodated quickly. Walls are thin and did shake when other doors slammed shut. Situated by lift which wasn’t an issue but also by the cleaning cupboard so was woken a few times - one at 2:30am with someone on their walkie talkie. Smoke alarm was going off on night we got back - they removed battery and said would replace next day but it never got replaced before we then left. Overall a great stay - location is fab next to a lot of things and also to lots of subway options. Walkable to Staten Island ferry / charging bull / Wall Street etc. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was a little dated, but it was fine. There were people fighting in the hall. The in-room phone did not work. I called the front desk on my cell and they answered and immediately put me on hold-for 20 minutes. It was scary. I did not feel safe with the fighting and not being able to get hold of the front desk in a timely manner. I dont think I will stay here again.

I recently stayed at the Hilton New York Downtown and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share.

One of the most concerning issues during our stay was the lack of hot water. After a long day in cold New York weather, my elderly parents and I returned to our room expecting basic comfort, only to find that there was no hot water available. This forced us to shower in cold water, which was extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable—especially given that my mother has asthma. Situations like this can directly impact health and well-being, and I was quite dissatisfied that such a fundamental amenity was not available when needed.

Additionally, we experienced a very alarming and frightening situation late at night. Around 2:00 AM, a group of 4–5 intoxicated men came to our door and attempted to open it. They remained outside our room for approximately 30–40 minutes, creating a highly distressing and unsafe environment for us. As guests, we expect a basic level of security and peace of mind, but this incident made us feel vulnerable and deeply unsettled.

Overall, this stay did not meet expectations in terms of both comfort and safety. I hope the hotel takes these concerns seriously and improves their service and security measures to ensure that future guests do not have to go through a similar experience.

Clean rooms, staff was always friendly and courteous, express checkout is always a breeze, room service was quick. Only downside was the amount of time you have to wait for and little space inside elevators. There are 3 elevators, but basically only 2 work all the time as one is used also for service and they have to serve 40+ floors taking too much time sometimes to leave or get into your room. Besides this minor inconvenience, our time at this hotel was great and the location was ideal as it is close to several Subway stations. There is also a nice restaurant next to its entrance.

No cookie at check in! But I got 2 a check out, so fair enough. Problem with the shower was fixed within half an hour of reporting. Room was fine with housekeeping everyday. This was my second stay, location for me is great, and I'm sure I'll stay again.

While the room was clean, we did notice a lack of a few basic essentials that are typically standard:
•Waste Management: There were no trash bags provided in the bins, which made keeping the space tidy a bit less convenient.
•Toiletries: There was no shower cap included in the bathroom amenities.

The most significant issue occurred during my morning routine. Halfway through my shower, the hot water completely cut out. Dealing with a cold shower in the middle of a New York trip was a major inconvenience and a disappointment for a hotel in this category.

The elevator situation was dismal as there were three small elevators serving a 44 story building. during peak usage times (i.e. midmorning near check out time) waits for an elevator exceeded 5 minutes and once on an elevator filled to capacity it continued to stop at nearly every floor extending the time to get to the ground floor. On our last day it took us well over ten minutes to go from floor 22 to the ground floor.
Bathroom doors are poorly designed and do not close completely.
The staff did every thing within there power to make guests happy/
