The compact room I'd originally booked had faulty plug sockets. The room was much smaller than I'd imagined. I was really grateful that the reception staff moved me to a bigger room, closer to the lifts which was lovely. My room wasn't totally cleared of used mugs the first day but generally speaking, staff were all very friendly, helpful and again, we were very happy with the hotel. (I missed the waffle irons this trip at breakfast tho.) Otherwise, the choice was good. I would just say that the staff making the omelettes, again very friendly, used the same pan and spatula when making ham or vegetarian omelettes. For someone vegetarian like me, that wasn't really acceptable. That would be my only criticism tho.

Great location, around the corner from a very convenient metro station that takes you wherever you want to go in the city! Great, cozy and comfortable room. Super delicious breakfast with a lot of healthy options, freshly squeezed fruit and ginger juice shots, pancakes, local delicacies and omelette cooked the way you want it, if you want it;) Would highly recommend this hotel and its location!

A fantastic hotel close to the city center with an good location. Everything is within walking distance, making it easy to explore Stockholm.
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Jones at the reception, who greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel welcome on my very first trip to Sweden.
The breakfast is outstanding - a generous buffet with a wide variety of choices, offering something for everyone.

The property was clean and well located. The breakfast food was very good. The food at lunch and dinner was not that great. I was served the daily dinner of fish and potatoes and the potatoes were not cooked. they offered me french fries instead but I did not want fried food. There was no concierge service or anyone behind the desk to offer any advice on what to do in Stockholm. The elevators were very overcrowded at Breakfast time. There were only three and one was out of service and one was so small it could only handle four people at a time comfortably.

Great hotel and stay

This hotel was beautiful. The room was nice and spacious and the bathroom felt very clean and updated and great Rituals.. products. We were lucky enough to check in early too which made it easy. The breakfast buffet was huge with great food selections and some of the best hotel buffet quality I’ve had in some time. The location was good to get around Stockholm too as we took public transit or walked everywhere.

Beds comfortable, excellent bathroom. Only complaint is that the wardrobe has little shelf space and very dark when the doors open.

Clarion is accessible to all forms of a traveler needs. Train and bus stations are available and close by (9 min walk). Attractions are but a 20 minute walk. Shopping of all kinds is but 10-16 minutes walk.

This hotel was far too busy for me. It was a zoo each morning at the buffet. Long waiting lines, people bumping into each other, sneezing, coughing, etc. In the end, I decided to eat elsewhere. It felt very unhygenic.

It is listed as a 4 star hotel. The room I stayed in had paint peeling in the bathroom and suite area and in general looked and felt old and worn.
I conveyed my opinion to Reception and they basically ignored me.

The hotel receptionist informed my friends and I to use Central Stockholm taxi to get to Old Town. We did that and took a cab that was sitting right outside the airport. It turns out it was a scam and not a real taxi. He charged us over 800 SEK for a 12 minute trip. This was 3-4 times that price it should have been. We informed that hotel and didn't hear anything back from them. We were lucky it wasn't much worse.

The location was not good and it was a long walk from Central Stockholm.

Very disappointing. I would not recommend the Clarion Amaranten hotel.

Five stars despite a few niggles. Very comfortable stay. Beds especially, which is always make or break. The location is very good , right next to the subway and I only one stop to the central subway interchange. The staff unfailingly helpful, and the rooms standard, but sizable and comfortable. The only downsides were the breakfast room which was absolutely packed and made it difficult to get to the food and find a seat to sit in. Gave up completely one morning and went a bakery instead. The other grumble was it took three requests for a kettle and when it did appear it was broken. Likewise the conditioner bottle in the bathroom was never fixed despite asking twice. A broken pump meant it couldn't be used Nevertheless, these grumbles aside, everything was exemplary and the customer service always good natured.

Came in late evening, after notifying hotel my flight would come in late only to find that I had know room. The staff did find me a comparable hotel and arranged taxi back n forth however at 2am it is the last thing you wish to do.

If you have a reservation. Honor the reservation.

To be honest. We stay in a hotel, just for the bed. As we are pretty much out from 10am to 10pm exploring the city & lucky we do.
The compact room, is compact & should only be sold as single occupancy.
Its not big enough for 2 people, plus luaggage.
When we were in the room we had to manoeuvre our luaggage to move around the room, from the lack of floor space.
The room was nice, bed comfy, shower good, just a really really small \"compact\" room.

Hotel amazing / Restaurant not....

Hotel was amazing, staff were amaxing, however the restaurant staff yesterday evening were not good.

They took 50 minutes to bring our food, looked angry to be working and the burnette waitress rolled her eyes at my friend when she asked for fries.

So 0* for the restaurant (the social), but 5* for hotel...

Downside: The room and corridors are dated and worn. Our \"superior room\" (501) featured a toilet seat that did not fit the toilet and a severely cracked sink.

Upside: Definitely the best breakfast buffet I have ever seen in a hotel and all of the staff were wonderful to deal with

Ok experience.
Good - Hotel was in a good location in a quiet area and next to a metro station. Breakfast plenty on offer and good quality. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening and the food was delicious.
Rooms were clean.
Bad - checked in early but one bed was not made up and had to report twice to reception to get it sorted.
Bathroom - badly cracked sink and floor badly flooded due to the gap between the shower screen and the bath, my son’s clothes were soaked. Had to move room where the issue still existed but we were able to work round it.
Communal areas weren’t spotless.
Disappointing that the sauna was out of order for the length of our stay.
Only one waitress in the restaurant in the evening who was rushed off her feet and service was slow.

We booked a room for 3 adults. We believed that there would be 1 double bed and 1 sofabed, however the sofabed was not a proper sofabed, the mattress was not secure and it was very narrow and uncomfortable. We complained and they said we could have a bigger room for the last two nights but they wanted to charge us the difference in price.The room was not cleaned well and the breakfast was very nice, there was a big selection, but there was no cappuccino or hot chocolate. The location was very good, but if there was a next time, we would pick a different hotel.

Usual large chain hotel. Fantastic breakfast each day and although very busy, we never felt rushed. Great looking gym with a sauna. Room was a little tight for floor space and we had booked the biggest one and was a little tired. Mark's and scrapes on the wall and TV screen, and a grimey looking mat that was mostly under the bed. Otherwise the room and bathroom was clean. Walked everywhere to visit the tourist hotspots. Beautiful city.

Highly recommended for quality and location

We stayed for three nights while exploring Stockholm.

The location is excellent, tenminutes or so from Central Station, right next door to the metro and a few blocks from the waterfront.

Our room was on the 7th floor, was very spacious and had floor to ceiling windows with a great view of the street below and the surrounding buildings.

The service was friendly and efficient and the included breakfast, while a bit average for the price and status of the hotel, was quite ok. The bar was a friendly and inviting spot for a drink in the evening.

Overall we would recommend highly.

This hotel is aging poorly. The hallways and rooms are in need of an update. There is no air circulation in the rooms so it was very stuffy. The lobby and bar are nice however and the included breakfast was good. The rooms are much smaller than they appear in the photos so we were crammed in there pretty tight. Annoyingly, our room keys stopped working on a daily basis and we had to keep getting g new ones.

The elevators were slow and in sufficient with a full hotel.
The room was clean and neat but hot. It is mid July and the thermost could not be lowered to a reasonably cool temperature. It was too warm and made sleeping uncomfortable.
Breakfast was very good.
A very limited dinner menu, but food was good.

The hotel staff was kind and friendly. They helped us with information regarding the subway. The subway is right there next to the hotel and the food near the hotel was also good. Area was quiet and clean. Also, out of all the hotels we’ve been to, the shampoo and conditioner was the best. Natural and it didn’t dry out my hair. Really wish I could have purchased some before leaving. Would love to go again. Also, the room was really spacious and clean. The AC here did work and had no issues. :)

- quiet area with restaurants and supermarkets nearby
- rooms are too small
- too many people
- three small lifts to cater for over 400 rooms, some days you could be waiting over 10 minutes, especially if you have a pram or suitcases. Really puts you off going for short outings.
- one day the lift was broken and we had to climb 4 flights with bags baby and a pushchair in a tiny spiral staircase which is their main staircase. Also nearly fell down these with the amount of people going up and down them and the door opens directly into people on the stairs.
- breakfast might seem great on day 1 with a good allergen corner and fancy seeds etc but no rotation of products so a week later it's very boring.
- the worst part about breakfast is how busy it is. They offer trays so everyone is loading up multiple plates with their trays, big queues to get into the small food areas, hard to get a table in the morning it's very stressful and uncomfortable, not what you want in the morning. The hotel advertises that 7-8 is the quietest and then it's jammed 8-11. There's definitely things the hotel could fix to make it easier.
- asked for things to be fixed or changed in the room three times, only one was half fixed which was a flooded shower due to the trap not working properly. No beer opener too despite beers for sale in the mini bar.
- no real storage in the room so can't unpack
- overall a lot of small annoyances which built up and management don't care

The hotel is great, breakfast is very good and very well located. The room was spacious for a 3 persons family. IT was an excellent cost benefit hotel. The elevator get's sometimes crowded, 1st floor rooms are good if one prefers the stairs.

Nice room with nice view. Great breakfast. But very large hotel so breakfast and elevators were crowded. There are crazy spiral staircases that also got crowded and had doors that open into the stair case so good chance of getting hit by the door! Housecleaning cleaned the room ok, except they didn’t vacuum! Nonetheless , good location and nice place to stay. For the price I think it was worth it.

This hotel was perfect for us. The staff were great--friendly, knowledgeable and professional. There were a lot of families so it gets lively. Breakfast was very good with a lot of variety to fill most dietary needs.

The hop on hop off bus stops beside the hotel so we used it to navigate to the places we wanted to visit. We parked in the attached garage which closes at 7 pm.

We liked the onsite restaurant and the ones in front of the hotel.
