Unfortunately on the final night of a 3-night stay at this hotel (which otherwise would've gotten a 4.5/5* rating from us), we found a sizable cockroach in our Junior Suite on the 5th floor. It was disturbing to us that there could be roaches accessing the rooms of such a fine establishment. We had been out the majority of the day so obviously the room was hot when we came got back... and we did have an empty container of food that was sealed and left in the trash of our room which probably attracted it... but the crazy part is I watched it disappear into a crack in the wall. Even though it was midnight by this point, the gentleman at the front desk did switch us to another clean room upon our request, as we no longer felt safe in our room and there was no way we could sleep... He claimed it was the first time there was any report of roaches. My advice to management: check the entire building for roaches and seal all the cracks in the walls!!! Otherwise, staff was friendly and accomodating, we got a welcome drink, a large glass water bottle and some fruit on day 1, and the buffet breakfast was very good (and we are picky eaters). The area is a little off the beaten path but everything is accessible by bus, long walks or taxis.

No iron, no international plugs, no conditioner , no desk in standard room. There is a minibar filled with unhealthy snacks that they refuse to empty (hotel policy). Otherwise people are nice. They provided adapters when asked. They provide an iron for 1 hour at a time, I did not try. Cleaning was good and thorough. I had booked 2 rooms, they worked hard to give adjoining rooms. Air-conditioning is effective even in 110degree weather.

I did not like the parking. We came during Palm Sunday and it was crazy busy. We parked about a mile away. I was frustrated we were late for show. The hotel sent up fruit and water that made us fill a lot better. The show that we missed let us rebook. Great breakfast

From the very friendly and informative welcome, to the checking out, the staff here couldn’t do enough to help; must see sights, Restaurants, museums etc. knew everything about Seville.
The hotel was clean, has good facilities and is excellently placed to walk to all the central sites.
We will return - and especially around the Christmas period and the city’s light show.

Most of the staff were polite and helpful except for the woman in the bar who was slightly aggressive and rude. We were here for four days and were watching the football, along with everyone else because spain was in the final and all we were asking was to increase the volume, everyone else thought the same and thanked us for asking but the bar woman acted like we were asking for her children. Hotel was nice looking and easy to get to. Good location to palace, cathedral and old part of the city. Nice bar just off the lobby. A couple maintenance issues though. Stair handrail was very wobbly, door handle to our bathroom was very wobbly and safety handbar in our bath/shower could be pulled out of the wall. The shower is already difficult to climb into and with nothing to safely hold on to, kind of hazardous.

Great food, disappointing pool

The location of this hotel is perfect for sightseeing, with all the big sites in walking distance. Staff were pleasant, particularly the breakfast staff. The buffet breakfast was amazing, with a huge choice of fresh and delicious food, very nicely presented. However, our room was very dated with worn towels and drab decor. It seemed as though rooms on some floors had been updated, but our room on the fourth floor and not been touched in many years. Twin and double rooms are the same thing, as a double room just means two single beds pushed together. We were also very disappointed to see that the pool was to one side of the lobby, in full view of everyone entering and leaving the hotel, the street outside and the bar. Throughout our five night stay we only saw three people using it. We had chosen the hotel as it had an indoor pool but it just wasn't suitable for swimming.

Good value in Seville

The hotel is very well located and within walking distance of many important siites. The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is very clean. Service, however, is not always efficient, as the front desk staff appears to involve trainees. Overall, the hotel is a good value, particularly for its comfort and location.

2 Night Stay-No Sleep

This hotel was clean and about a 10 minute walk to the center of everything. For the most part the staff was great. However my mom and I got no sleep while we were there. Maybe the walls are too thin but the 1st night we were up until 3 am due to neighbors coming home after partying and wanting to stay up an additional 3 hours. The next night it was the other neighbors turn who kept us up until 4am. Talking loudly and non stop from the time we went to ned at 11pm until 4am. We called and complained twice. Supposedly they asked them to be quiet with no response. We were finally moved to another room but by that time our sleep was shot. I was very surprised at the lack of care the woman at the front desk showed us at check out. Didn't apologize or offer to do anything for us. Just thanks for your stay. Other than her the staff was great. My sleep is important so for that reason I would never stay here again

Great location ..updated hotel. Our Room was small (although we were told we got an upgrade) but comfortable- perfect for a couple. Not sure for two friends as glass door leads to bathroom is see through. Boyfriend took a shower while housekeeping was delivering an iron and I’m sure he was visible. Staff was friendly and place was nice overall!

Good quality hotel but just a few small negatives.

Pros:Good location, 10min walk to main Old Town through lovely side streets.
Premium Double room very nicely refurbished, nice decoration, super clean, tea and coffee, bathrobes. Not separate bathroom though if that bothers you, large shower cubicle and sink are open-plan in bedroom.
Proper door on toilet though. Worth upgrading.
Restaurant food good, excellent breakfast choice on buffet.
Waiter in restaurant at dinner (Mauricio) excellent.

Cons:
Check-in very slow so computer systems must need upgrading as afterwards any questions/requests etc on reception were very good.
Small swimming pool is located in the lobby/bar/cafe area which is very strange. Room just needed extra towel rail and extra waste bin.

Room was lovely as we had the large balcony, the only improvement would be to provide more storage space, we were only stopping for 3 nights but even then didn’t have anywhere to put our clothes, one of the wardrobes were too high for me to reach the bar for the coat hangers. You also needed more hooks to place wet towels, dressing gowns as well.

Not sure if all the rooms have a glass shower in the bedroom and the sink on the vanity in the bedroom - it was fine for me as I was travelling alone - not sure if they have regular rooms when you book for 2
Please note while it says self parking there are very few spots for the number of rooms they have - so the nearest parking area is 8 -10 minute walk and 22€ a day. So if parking is necessary I would not book here.

Great stay at Catalonia Giralda

My husband and I had a brilliant stay at the hotel. We arrived on his birthday, went out for a wander into town and On our return back to the room discovered a nice birthday surprise - a lovely birthday message from the manager, a bottle of champagne and some chocolates. It was a great start to our mini break. The hotel is only a walking distance from the centre, has great facilities, including an all-important kettle and a great selection of teas and packets of coffee. The room was spotlessly clean, the hotel staff very helpful. There is a swimming pool in the lobby for a leisurely dip. There is a nice bakery-cafe Buenabuelo a short walk away - nice atmosphere and great cakes and drinks. We would return back and highly recommend this hotel.

Catalonia Giralda- the perfect place in Séville

Catalonia Giralda is a great hotel, situated in a location close to everything. The hotel itself is very nice, super clean and with an incredibly warm staff. My room was chic and comfortable and quiet. If I have a chance to back to Sevilla I will make sure to stay here again.

Great location....walking distance to downtown Seville and all the tourist sites, restaurants & shopping. Our room was upgraded upon arrival which was a nice surprise. The only draw back was issues with our air conditioner....the weather was very hot (39 degrees) while we were there and the air wasn't cooling the room down for sleeping. The front desk did their best to assist with this issue. Also the pool was small and located near the bar on the first floor which felt awkward so we didn't use it. Overall a pleasant & comfortable 5 night stay in this hotel and I would stay again if we ever made it back to Seville.

There is only one thing I would want to change about the room is the bathroom door. Even thought the pattern on the door looks lovely it's not practical and allows no privacy when you are using the toilet, which is clearly seen in the reflection of the mirror when sitting on the bed.

My advice would be to use frosted glass instead.

Unusable pool in hotel bar area.

We chose this to be closer to the rail station. This was a good idea. We were happy to be on the edge of the city centre. However we were disappointed about the pool which was inside and barside (rather than with a poolside bar) and nobody used it whilst we were there. I suppose it ticks the box for the hotel description but it failed to impress. No other complaints though, except when the bar staff were posted missing for a while.

Not the best start - were put in a room for our first night in which the block was being renovated and it was cold (they did provide a fan heater though). However the next day they upgraded us to a lovely room and compensated the mix up with complimentary breakfast for the duration of our stay. Lovely service, all in all a lovely hotel with a great location.

Really weird to have the swimming pool in the bar area. It’s not a swimming pool that happens to have a bar. It’s a pool inside a bar. Totally bizarre.
My joint beds had wheels and the beds kept moving which was a little annoying.
A walk-in shower in the junior suite would’ve been nice. And I had a second room with one sad looking single bed. Which again, was a little weird.
All else was great. Good staff, WiFi, clean and quiet.

Loved the location 10 minutes from city centre- we walked to Alcázar and Puerta every day. Restaurants everywhere fresh orange juice everywhere. Hotel itself was lovely with a heated in door swimming pool which was a bonus. Decor tasteful and pleasing.
Coffee from cafe across the road was very tasty (to the left across the road).
I would stay there again if i go to Seville.

Simple, clean and modern

Loved my stay here. They were completing renovations which didn't really affect me in any way, shape or form, but the staff bent over backwards for me to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Which it was. The rooms were large, very new and modern. The double shower head was awesome. The location was good. Away from the craziness but just a short walk down to the cathedral, Alcazar, and several tapas bars in nearby neighbourhoods. Would definitely stay here again.

Although the hotel is in a good location for exploring the city it should not be open at the moment. There are major renovation works being carried out and the noise is very disturbing. It looks like all the rooms on the first and second floors are being reformed - all the windows have been removed. When we checked in we were told the work would not begin before we had set out for the day and would be finished when we returned in the evening! How do they know when we will go out and return? We could hear the workmen arriving and preparing at 8am and started at 9am. When we returned to the hotel late afternoon to have a rest before going back out in the evening it was impossible as they were working until at least 6pm and even 7pm one day.
When we pay for a four star hotel we expect a certain standard and to be able to use the hotel when we wish! Furthermore the indoor pool had no changing facilities that we could see, and is open plan with the bar area.

Nice hotel at brilliant location and very good staff. the only disappointing thing is the checkin time. As you can only checkin at 14.00 hrs

Great Hotel

This hotel was in a great location; a nice 15-20 minute walk from the Cathedral. There was great nightlife and plenty of restaurants nearby. Highly recommend the nearby flamenco show (El Palacio Andaluz) -- tickets can be purchased at the front desk -- and the sangria garden/cave bar (La Carboneria Bar) nearby with impromptu flamenco (dancers, singers, guitarists). The neighbourhood also seemed safe; never felt uneasy walking about at night. The hotel is within walking distance from Sevilla Santa Justa (the train station), even with bags. The hotel staff were fantastic! Very pleasant and helpful! I would absolutely stay there again because the staff made it a pleasure to stay there; especially Victoria at the front desk, she was so nice and very helpful! The wi-fi in the room was fast and reliable. Most mornings, we actually did breakfast at the hotel; it turned out to be a good value and breakfast was good. I would definitely stay there again if I go back to Seville and would definitely recommend to a friend.

Location is great , hotel no

The lobby looks new , but the rooms where terrible... very old .
Our first room smelled so we asked to move to a different room , the smell was better . But still they can update the rooms
