Upon check-in I advised the receptionist I had an existing confirmation with Hotels.com. Price total approximately $95.00. Once I got to my room and checked the amount of $119.00 charged to my credit card, I returned to the Front Desk inquiring as to why the increase. She spoke very very little English, as I speak very very little Spanish. She says she asked if I wanted a large bed, which I only what they reservation/confirmation stated. It became very frustrating due to the language barriers, I just returned to my room,waiting an opportunity to notify Hotels.com of this discrepancy which she created.

Me he hospedado muchas veces atravez de los años anteriormente todo bien y en esta ocacion y hice mi reservacion atravez de expedia ya q tenian una oferta reserve para 3 personas habitacion doble con 2 camas queen.. decia desayuno gratis como acostubran siempre al llegar a la propiedad fueron muy amables pero intentaban cobrarnos mas dinero de lo q decia la reserva original fespues de casi una hora alli les dije q solo pagaria la cantidad d la reserva ni un centavo mas fespues de mucho duscutirlo acedieron pero aun asi pase ese mal rato y ademas me indicaron q tendria q pagar los desayunos de mi hijo ..yo con yal de no swguir discutiendo ni luchando con ellos termine cojiendo mi llave de mi cuarto y si tuve q pagar los dias q me quede el desayuno d mi hijo aunque en la reserva era para 3 personas wn habitacion doble... som muy amables pero esos detalles deben tener cuidado ya q pueden perder clientes...

As soon as you enter to this property is so warm and a weird smell. The room are like a regular house in DR, the bathroom are nasty, the refrigerador oxidado and lastly there’s a lot of mosquitoes especially in the area of check in and the cafeteria

We have stayed at this hotel many times. It is always clean and the staff is great. Location is convenient for our needs. The cost to stay here is very reasonable. It is not a resort, however it is a nice, clean, safe place with great staff.

Total misrepresentation. The pictures on the website were definitely enhance to look way better than the place is. I will mostly likely have to see a doctor upon return to USA as a result if the bed. The bed had no mattress and an.box spring. Instead is was something that was hard as rock.
I woke up with pain all over my body.
I only book this hotel because of the information provided on the web. False! False!!
The room I chose should have a refrigerator and also a safe , but there was none.

Excellent staff, great location. Very clean. I was given a suite due to the fact that there wasnt any regular rooms at the time I booked with travelocity. So this review is about a suite, nevertheless I was told regular rooms are the same except they have queen beds. I liked the breakfast, and the staff. I had a different breakfast each day since they have like 5 different varieties to choose from. Everything was really clean. Mattress was really comfortable! Pillow top mattress. Sheets were very clean and smelled like so, but very subtle just how i like it since i cant stand strong smells, bathroom was clean as well. Air conditioner on point. The only set back is that there was barely any hot water to take a shower. But it was manageable. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it!

I check in at nine oclock due to immigration having not enought folks at thier post almost 2 hours to get throught immigration. When i got to the front desk the individual was on the phone did not acknowledge me.so had wait for him to get off the phone.he ask me if i have reservation i said yes he look in his computer and ask me if i can show him my reservstion i made throught expediate. I did and then another ten minutes went by filling out papework while a individusl in the lobby was loudly talking on the phone trying to check in.they gave me the key to the room went to the room the doors to the rooms where open.when i enter the room the room didnt smell clean smell like fish.the bed was a single the bed i reserve was a queen.i went to the front desk and show him on my phone that i requested a queen not a sngle bed. The room next door had a queen he commence saying thats what i reserve i told him i have a queen bed back home and that was not a queen.we commece debating about my reservation he said theirs nothing he can do i have wait for someone to come in to fix thier error.i told him i couldnt wait i have a previouse opppintment. He said well you can have youre money back and find another place to stay.i told okay no problem is this how you resolve issue.

At my arrival, they started off by giving me a room that i had nothing to do with what i had reserved on line. It was horrible i had to go back and tell them to switch it. The second room seemed okay so i took it. The shower window was full of spotsand super dirty, the floors werent clean, i found a condom wrap on the bedroom floor, the shades werent pulling up and behind them it was full of dust and to top it off the card for the door wasnt working i had to go up and down many times until they ended up giving me the master key instead..... overall it was just very disappointing. I wouldnt go back and wouldnt recommend it neither.

Hotel was nothing like the pictures on your website. Rooms smelled and toilet clogged up and had to wait until next day before problem could be fixed (horrible smell and service). Also, room was not cleaned after being gone all day; come to find out you have to ask to have room cleaned :-(... Construction on property started early a.m. and could not sleep. Lastly, the front desk personnel were really nice and but the surrounding support was awful.

They try to do the best but still need improvement. I had a room facing front and it was noisy until late at night. Make sure you eat before 9pm or you will not eat until 7am. there are places close by to eat but nothing in the hotel.

Nice, affordable hotel in Santo Domingo

I was in Santo Domingo for a few nights and wanted a nice place to stay for an affordable price. I've tried different hostals & hotels ~ the Hostal San Francisco was a pleasant surprise. It is located a few blocks north of coastal highway near major hotels and casinos. The rooms are a good size, bathrooms are modern, and the A/C works well. There are restaurants within walking distance as is the water front. I will go back to this hotel again.

Spotless hotel with substantial breakfast

The hotel was incredibly clean and reasonably appointed. Construction mentioned in earlier reviews is complete. The neighborhood, being out of the tourist areas, is a little gritty, but one shouldn't walk alone late anywhere in Santo Domingo, and with appropriate precautions it's as safe as any other. Avoid staying in low-number rooms if you can: 201/202/203 and 301/302/302 are directly adjacent to a lounge where people hang out at all hours and noise bounces off all the tile.

The hotel was ok, the only think i didn't like is the breakfast, the attendant was not trained properly with the choices , was confusing. And charge me for everything, the hotel is under elevator construction. Wich was a little inconvenient bc my room was on the 3 floor and everyday had a lot noise son I can not rest in the morning. The neighborhood is not safe at night so if u go u have to be carefully and never go out alone the positive part is that is close to everything casinos, 1 hour driving to the beach.

Quite unpleasant neighborhood with pimps luring clients just around the corner from the hotel. The hotel itself is average. The room was large but dark due to the curtained window facing the backyard which serves as a dump. Very limited English spoken at the reception

Good little botique hotel.

I had a great stay here it was convient, clean, modern, and for the most part the staff was excellent. The only thing I didn't like was the front desk guy not Onspeter; but the other guy would frequently question my business associates who arrived at the hotel which I thought was very unprofessional, and he needs to mind his own business!! Other than that I give it a thumbs up!!

Strangely, our booking from hotels.com was not known by the hotel staff at our arrival, and we were thus given the first room next to the lobby, which was terribly noisy (staff and clients speaking loudly + TV of the lobby) The room was not very clean (e.g. some hairs in the bathroom) and the staff not very helpful. Outside of this, the room was ok in term of furniture. Concerning the location of the hotel, it is outside Zona Colonial, so requires some walking through unfriendly streets to go there. Good point is the opportunity to have a taxi at any time as several taxi drivers are waiting in front of the hotel. But in overall, do not expect to visit a nice pretty city as Santo Domingo is not very charming and the tourist area can be visited in just 1 day.

A great place to stay

The hotel is great,almost brand new. The rooms are very clean. I could walk around barefoot on the tile floor and my feet did not get dirty. Cleanliness of laundry was okay but not great. Some towels had some spots and some towels smelled a little funny. Otherwise the cleanliness was good. Only problem with the hotel is they lost one of my reservations. I had four different reservations (two rooms at two different times). I had to change one of the reservations and the only way to do it was to cancel that reservation and create a new one. All was good and I received the new confirmation. Unfortunately, the hotel had a record of the cancellation but not of the new reservation. They had no rooms available, so I had to take a room for that night at a less desirable hotel nearby. The hotel is in a decent neighborhood. You will almost certainly have beggars wanting to do things for you (show you around, help you find something, polish your shoes, supply you with 'ladies'). Just say no if you don't them to follow you wherever you go. There is a very small bar/bistro in the hotel. Great food. Try the American breakfast ---two eggs (real ones, not liquid from a container), fresh fruit juice, excellent coffee, three mini croissants, butter and jam, all at a very good price. The food is all cooked to order, so it may take longer than you are used to, especially if there are a few customers. The bistro also provides room service. All in all, a bargain for the price.

This is a nice hotel. Room is large enough, has a frig., reasonably priced mini bar and is remarkably clean. I had a delux single - one queen (the least expensive) room. I have only two issues - the room they gave me - interior first floor had no window. So...no morning light, no idea what the weather was. The receptionist (very nice woman) advised that next time, I specify that I want a window. My other issue can be fixed at no expense. Although the room was clean, the bed was VERY poorly made - bedspread pulled up over sheets that have just been thrown on the bed and not tucked - top or bottom sheet. The top sheet was on sideways and barely came to my shoulder, so before I could sleep, I had to remake the whole bed. Costs nothing to do a good job of preparing the bed so I hope they take care of that before I return. Having said that, everything else was great - wifi worked, complimentary toiletries in the bath, hot water if you wait for it, new mattress and good central location. I will choose San Francisco de Asis again. If the bed issue has been addressed, I'll let you know.

GOOD LITTLE HOTEL, CLEAN NEW AND VERY COMFORTABLE, GOOD INTERNET IN ROOM, GREAT SERVICE AND CONVENIENTLY LOCATED CLOSE TO MAIN HOTELS AND RESTAURANTS NEARBY. SECOND TIME HERE, FIRST TIME I STAYED IN THE SUITE TYPE ROOM WITH KING BED, THIS TIME HAD SMALLER QUEEN BED, BUT EQUALLY COMFORTABLE, COULD USE AN EXTRA PILLOW, AND THE RECEPTION PROMPTLY BROUGHT ONE. AFFORDABLE AND PERFECT FOR A FEW NIGHTS IN SANTO DOMINGO.
