The shower curtain was torn and disgusting. The shower faucet was difficult. The electric outlet doesn’t work. The blanket was old and had many holes. There were no chairs or lamps. The heater was very loud.

Room smelled , did not have a working TV , the manager showed up at 9pm to fix it it worked until i changed the channel then back to an error message and blue screen ..there were no lamps so it was overhead lighting which was very bright ..the manager called about an hour after I arrived and askef of I had water in my room red flag ..but on a positive note the manager was nice enough to give me extra towels and was friendly so .. i will give the Staff 5 stars but the room one star ..i only paid 58 dollars so I guess i got what i paid for ..also the bed was very comfortable. . And there were stores and food nearby with in walking distance not a bad place but definatlely not for fancy folks

FALSE ADVERTISMNET! I was with my infant daughter and sister and DID NOT FEEL SAFE! i am still waiting on my refund , the room/property was dirty floor was sticky, walls were damaged and stained, the blinds were all broken and didnt close, there was no fire alarm, microwave didnt work, the ac didnt work room was hot the frond door was damaged. I went to tell them to cancel my room and she tried to \"upgrade me\" and she tried to offer me to stay in an other room and too me to their show rooms they have posted onlline.

-Didn’t have the King Room I booked online when I arrived; charged me the same price for the Queen Room downgrade; refused to discount
-Room had dirty sheets. Woman acted as if it was inconvenient for her to provide me with clean sheets

DISGUSTING ROOMS
-Flies and ants in the rooms
-Dirty sheets! Stains and hair in the sheets
-Hair on the walls in the shower
-Black mold in the grout

GARBAGE AMENITIES
-Prison-grade soap, shampoo, toilet paper and towels
-Slowest possible Wi-Fi. Totally useless for trying to work
-Broken AC machine

SKETCHY ENVIRONMENT
-Management allows customers to blast ghetto music at night from the parking lot
-Can’t sleep with the window open due to street-walkers in the hallways smoking cigarettes
-Chinese owned and operated hotel – probably a money laundering operation

Rodeway Inn lying about their \"paid\" guests...

Just a few things that happened at this stay:
- entering the room without notification
- tv + volume turning off/on randomly/reloading
- no closet
- no dresser
- queen sized bed
- lamps unstable

While i was there the front desk staff acknowledged all my complaints. But when i checked out they wanted me to pay the full value of a king size room, when they checked me into a room with a queen bed, with no closets or a dresser, broken tv, and a taped security latch.

When i came back to from eating, the tape was removed. A worker came into my room without permission or notification. The only reason I knew the tap was missing was because I remembered it was there before I left.

I was told to call the general manager Sergio Garcia. I've been calling since the 7/17/25 he has yet to show up or call. After all that, they had the audacity to tell hotels.com that they checked me into the correct room.

This was infuriating, and this is why I writing this review. It's horrible to lie, but it's more atrocious when they lie about things that could be proven. I have pictures and videos of the room they said I didn't stay in. I've already contacted their ethics department. The Better Business Bureau will be next, until they refund me for the room I never got.

These people will smile in your face, and lie as soon as you leave. Don't trust this place to keep you safe....

The office staff was friendly, the area has vagrants living in some of the rooms, borh men and women, street people, there was a guy in the parking lot, teasing his pet pit bull with a stuffed animal, the animal showed his aggressive behavior in mauling that stuffed toy. As soon as I went in, a certain smell emitted into my nasal pasages, and it gave me an indication to expect cockroaches. Sure enough, on the 2nd day, I saw one in rhe bathroom also on day 2, room service forgot to clean my room, I complained, and the front desk told me that they normally only clean once every 3 days, and asked if I had put in a special request.

My stay was great. The only thing that I would have to complain about is the floor felt grimy. As if they mopped the floor with the same mop every single time without cleaning it. However, other than that, I really enjoyed my stay. I just wore my house shoes the whole time. They were very accommodating and very polite. The only other thing I would complain about is it says that they offer breakfast? The breakfast is not actual breakfast more like snacks. But it didn’t bother me much because I don’t eat breakfast but for others to do, they might want to know that.

I requested a room downstairs with a king bed. I called to advise of late check in due to traffic and late arrival. I was told that I would be getting a king bed and downstairs. I arrived for check in and was told that the king bed room was not available. I was given a double bed room and upon entering the room was not what we expected and the room had cockroaches 😳 I was offered another room which was just as bad although I saw no cockroaches. We were then given an upstairs king bed room which was newly remodeled. The door was almost impossible to open, my husband almost fell over trying to open the door. Was very disappointed with our entire experience.

One significant complaint and a few minor ones. There was no security latch (or chain) on the door. There was evidence that there was one in the past so why didn’t they replace it? Minor issues: the window had wooden shutters with a connecting rod to angle them shut all at once. That rod was broken on one of the windows, so I had to move each vane shut individually. The front door did not have an automatic door closer and it was difficult to shut the door without slamming it. The one chair in the room was so worn out that you wouldn’t want to sit on it. Parts of the top of the shower curtain were torn but that had no negative effect on my ability to shower. Now for the good things: the complementary breakfast was quite good. Boiled eggs, two kinds of cereal, a variety of yogurt, coffee, tea, instant oatmeal, orange juice, milk, and a variety of sweet pastries and fruit. No table to eat at unless you go outside. The hot water was nearly instant. The bed was quite comfortable. There is a mini fridge and microwave but I used neither. The TV is good sized and had a bunch of cable channels. One last negative: no clock in the room

This day wasn't bad except they tried to make us stay an extra day to get our clothes out and they kicked us out of the room before the actual check out time was which was 11:00 they're trying to get us out by 10:00 they're not $20 off our deposit which I was okay with that and that's why I gave him a better meeting the only drawback was that they tried to kick us out early

We stayed here for a concert at Harrah’s. Nice easy drive back and forth. Walking distance to a local brewery next door and kewl eats around. Staff was excellent. Place was clean and they’re still upgrading and renovating the place. Will definitely be back whenever we are in Escondido or nearby for events. Awesome place if you’re a tourist to San Diego but don’t want to pay the premium prices in San Diego. The only drawback is no pool/hot tubs, but who cares about that October through April?!

After a long trip, it was very disappointing to get into a room with a dirty toilet. Literally, I was able to see the butt crack painted in the rim of the toilet and poop splash inside. I was lucky to find the cleaning lady right outside to help us clean, who mentioned that employees have to go into the room's toilets because they do not have a special one for them. This is definitely not good.

Our room was not ready at check-in time. The desk clerk did not review all the amenities or where the dog area was located. It is right near a busy intersection so it was noisy. The room was not well maintained - shabby. Our first morning there a woman broke a couple windows on the car next to ours with a sledge hammer. Needless to say, we won't be staying there again.

The room was missing some very basic things, like a shelf in the shower for soap, a hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang your clothes on. There were no coat hangers in the room. I asked the front desk for an iron and ironing board, they didn't have one. The bed was hard and uncomfortable.

I had a good night's sleep and a nice shower which are the most important things for me. The negatives were the dated condition of the facility and I encountered a baby cockroach when I first entered the room which I promptly dispatched. No other bugs were noticed during my stay.

I checked in with my service dog. The guy at the desk demanded paperwork on the dog, which is illegal. He told me if i did not pay a fee he would cancel my reservation and not refund my money. My vehicle has handicap plates. The desk staff are junks and don't know the law.
Plus the room was very run down, peeling paint and no water pressure. What a mistake, staying.

Check in was ok staff was a little rude. I had said on my pre-check in that I had a dog but they didn’t initially charge it and then they said oh you have a dog after I had already signed all the paperwork that’ll be a $33 fee per dog, like I was trying to sneak it in which was ridiculous because I had actually put in the special Section of booking that we were bringing our dog. They also took $100 deposit. The room was freezing cold. It looked like it had been remodeled so that was nice. The bathroom was OK. The heater did not work at all and it was freezing cold all night long . There was also a huge gap under the door, which is part of the reason the room was so cold.

It was a nice place yet under renovation. The room itself was excellent yet the heat did not work and there was a “for California” cold front. The room 50 F at night Electric plugs are poorly laid out yet this is likely due to renovations. In a month this will be a great place so I consider this a temporary issue. That said parking and cleanliness was perfect .

The room said \"multiple beds\" so we were expecting King bed, twin and sofa bed. There was no sofa bed. Our family of 5 could not fit, also, it smelled terrible as if we entered an Indian food restaurant. The room we were checked into was right behind the office, we checked in and checked right out. Need better cleaning. There was pubic hair in the bathroom and should have been rated less than 2 stars.

When we arrived, the room was upstairs & I have a broken back & there was No elevator! We had 2 big suitcases! I wanted a refund & the property mgr. refused to release the waiver, your re-location dept. was unhelpful & refused to refund my money! so i go to the room & the lock wouldn't
lock! the on-site came after several rings to the office & he had to get a screw driver to budge the problem & had No concern about my feelings, he stated it happens alot!, 7 NEXT TO MY ROOM THE PEOPLE WERE RELEASED FROM THE COUNTY JAIL AND COOKING OUTSIDE THE ROOM, IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPEIRENCE & I GOT IN MY CAR AND DROVE HOME AN HOUR AWAY AND THE ROOM WAS PAID FOR, VERY UPHAPPY WITH HOTELS.COM, THAT YOU ARE QUIBBLING OVER $130 & the servive was horrible, I am waiting for your supervisor to call me.

Cost. Had to pay $77 extra to switch from a king bed to 2 double. There is absolutely no space to hang your clothes.
The space was recently remodeled so was very clean and had a nice large bathroom even though the tub stopper didn’t work. Room was on the side of a very street so traffic noise all night.

I've stayed here couple times and not a fan of this place the bathrooms aren't the best and the front desk people act like there running the four seasons very rude and same with checkout they threatened to charge me for another night cause I was 15 minutes late past checkout and I even called to get late check-out but they don't offer it

One of my worst experiences so far. Rented two rooms and both had dirty sheets. One of the beds appeared to have pee. You could smell it on the sheets and in the room. One of the pillows had a stain. The front desk was trying to do his best. He offered to change the sheets but was unable to change the pillow as a result of not having anymore. Room furniture was odd, the bedding did not match.
