Cockroaches! My husband killed at least a half a dozen cockroaches in our room and watched more that he could not get crawl back into the walls. I was told they serve breakfast in the lobby, but ugh! Would you eat somewhere where cockroaches kept you up all night?

When I told the woman at front desk when we checked out before staying the second night her response was, “okay.” I told her we we cannot stay in a cockroach infested room and she said “okay”. No embarrassment, no concern, surprise. Based on her response, I suspect they are well aware that their facility is overrun with vermin.

Bonus, when I called her on her response she said, “Well, you seemed upset, I don’t know what to do.” She ultimately offered to refund me for the night I didn’t stay, but forgot to give me a receipt. I went back for it, and, of course, she did not, infact, refund me the second night. So, vermin and lies. That is what you get at Days Inn by Windham in Vista.

Arrived after a 14 hour drive to a room with a cockroach. Went back to the front desk, requested a new room. New room was dirty, bathtub filthy and smelled of Marijuana.
Glad I booked through Expedia so I could leave and get a refund. Lots of homeless people in and around the hotel. I don’t need anything fancy but I definitely wouldn't stay here. Sleeping in the car sounded like a better option.

The air conditioning did work great! We had a couple of really warm days and needed to use it.
The staff here is always great, very friendly and always always willing to help me. I have mentioned many of the staff members before in review of this property. Juan and Mariah at the front desk always remember my name and my room number since I’ve been here long-term. Everyone everyone does a great job here!

The room was comfortable; however, it is very noisy since it is near the freeway. The hallways were dirty as it seems there are homeless people staying there and leaving a lot of trash. The elevator was not working. We saw few employees around, but they don´t acknowledge the customers. There is a lot of things that could improve: cleanliness, courtesy, and if windows could be replace with ticker glass to avoid all the noise. I don´t thing I will consider staying there again,

There was cockroaches, the staff did not do anything when I called in the middle of the night due to people up all night working on vehicles and fighting. I also had to call do to homeless people sleeping and the stairs. Staff said they would send the security but nobody showed up. I felt very unsafe.

It smelled like cigarette smoke, we had asked for ground floor due to my spouses mobility, ADA disability and we were only given a third floor room. Elevator was broken. We had no option for other rooms, we arrived at 1 AM and we’re told we could cancel or take the third floor room. The refrigerator was unplugged in the room and had no place to plug it in so was not functional the entire hotel complex was populated by unhoused people because they told us the hotel was sold out and there were no cars in the parking lot. We were disturbed at 2 AM by someone banging on the door, looking for Larry, Hotel staff later told us Larry had lived in our room for three months when we raised these issues and problems with staff, they were told they had no way to fix the problem and we could move to a better room in the morning, but the next day we were told they were sold out and they could not move us rooms
Overall, a terrible experience

The room was dirty. The mattress felt broken. The furniture was old and marked with dings. The wall and trim in the bathroom behind the toilet was peeling. The grout in the tub was black and dirty.

My husband had an allergic reaction probably to the fan through the ac system.

It was so uncomfortable that we left at 4 AM to drive home.

The refrigerator quit in my room 5 days ago (Day 15 of a 20 day maximum stay per state of California). I told the front desk and on her monitor it appeared as she said to contact maintenance and get it fixed. Everyday I asked again & today I checked out no working refrigerator still! Unacceptable!

The room was cold and dirty but the worse part was I found a bed bug at 9:00 pm on the pillow next to me and had to leave the room and find a new hotel at 9 o'clock at night. I am 62 years old and have difficulty driving at night. The experience was awful :(

My bank card was charged 3 times of $75 for a depsit which caused me to havevtobend myvstay because the money to book my room again was in limbo. No manager all weekend to solve the problem. So Monday morningvi hadvto check outwith 2 days of work left . I paid an initial deposit of $75. Didn't finish the job so i booked again and was charged another $75 depositvwithout my knowledge. Looked at my bank card andcthat deposit was scheduled for refund, still is. And at 4:29 a.m. my bank card was charged another $75 deposit.So i checked out and its Monday morning. Nobroom to stay and my bank card shredded by this hotel

Remote wouldn’t work unless you were super close to the tv… toilet tank wouldn’t fill up unless we took the lid off and made sure it filled each time… at 2am I found a roach in the restroom!!!!! So disgusted by that!!!
Breakfast was minimal. Ran out of creamer for coffee. Overall a poor stay and will never return.

When we first checked in, the facility was out dated but the room was lower than most in the area. But the room was disgusting. The bed linens were stained and had a smell of throw up and cigarette smoke. The toilet was leaking and the tub appeared to be poorly painted over, with paint chipping on the tub floor. We requested a room change and the 2nd room was just as bad as the first. Electrical chords hanging down the wall, cigarette burns in the linens and tub, not to mention we went from the first floor to the third floor and we couldn’t use the elevator because we did not feel safe as the safety operating permit was expired. We tried to cancel the reservation and just go elsewhere, but they would not release our funds for the change, forcing us to stay. Also, both nights of our stay, we found cockroaches crawling the walls. It was absolutely disgusting. I wish we could have gone somewhere else. I will never book at this facility again.

The room was clean. The hotel breakfast didn't start till 7 which was too late for me to join and seems late in general. They happily delivered pillows to my room when i called the front desk. I can't tell if it used to be a bad hotel that theyre making nice again or if it was a nice hotel thats becoming bad as the people standing outside the rooms looked unsavory but there would be an escalade parked in the parking lot. It was confusing.

Neighbors were so noisy the entire time we were there. Pretty sure some of them LIVED at the hotel. We saw into some of the peoples rooms and they had decorations and furniture in them that were definitely not hotel fixtures.

Drug deals went down in the parking lot. Dogs from upstairs were going crazy at ungodly hours of the night. At 7:30 am one of them started blasting reggaeton music at full volume. Tv was broken,

The facilities were not adequate. Room was uninhabitable and at the staff was not helpful. Especially Matt C. The front desk person in charge the night I stayed. I told him about the room and how it was dirty and uninhabitable, he said there’s nothing he can do there’s no free rooms and refused to help me any further. While I stood at the desk, another group came to check in and they were helped by him, so there were still rooms available. Horrible staff and horrible customer service.

We have stayed at this property regularly for several years to visit family. It has been clean, safe, convenient and pet friendly. This time, however, the clientele was much rougher, the trash cans were overflowing, people were in the walkways at two in the morning, talking and knocking on doors. Not the family friendly place we know and love. I plan to talk to the manager when she is available. But I would be careful about booking here, especially during the weekdays.

Disappointing Decline

I have been staying here for an annual business trip since 2015. Always friendly service, clean rooms & a nice breakfast- on brand for La Quinta Inn. Now that this is a Days Inn, the quality has drastically declined. I booked 2 rooms for myself & my staff on 1 reservation. At check in, it was treated as 2 separate reservations. The rooms were run down and the floors were filthy. No coffee maker, which is listed as an amenity. There were unsavory people hanging in the halls, homeless in the stairwells. The elevator smelled like urine. Housekeeping had piles of sheets & towels on the ground by the trashcan at the end of the corridors. Breakfast was sad. All carbs- cereal, bread, muffins & bagels. A few tiny yogurt cups. No hard boiled eggs, no oatmeal, no waffles. A bowls of beatup looking apples. 1 coffee pot. And lots of people who didnt look like they were staying at the hotel. The breakfast attendant was rude. Definitely not the quality of the Wyndham brand.

older building, run down. Picture of property on-line is always better, then in reality.
this was a place for displaced homeless people, who had no respect for others. Loud- yelling, dogs, slamming doors, cursing, took up prime parking spots for $$$guests.
Kept being woken up both nights by several inconsiderate individuals.
I feel I should be compensated for the highly in convenience of the rude individuals outside, and even those next door to my room!
Staff was great! I believe I saw very few actual paying guests, more less-unfortunate individuals...

Dont bring your family here.

I’m 34 so I should know by now that pictures are very deceiving. I should have just known from the price. Smart tv in the room with the most basic remote with no “menu” button. So I start to scroll the channels. There is news stations for every single city in America on this tv. I call to maybe get another remote or find out how to get to the guide channel. They told me there’s a button on the remote. I told her there’s not. We go back and forth a few times with her just telling me “I guess you’re out of luck” I finally ask for some type of compensation for the inconvenience and she finally says I can give you $25 off your stay so I say absolutely and she was very quick to get off the phone. Doors aren’t sealed properly nor do they shut without a little force and turning the knob so it actually catches. Luckily before I put it on my body I could smell the towel that I almost used. It smelled like it had recently been used to clean up vomit then sent through the wash to be cleaned. 1 wash cloth for a reservation with 2 guests. My grandma was sick and there’s not very many options in this city and we needed something quick. We will never be back to this crappy place.
