The hotel is tucked away in the mountains of Hakone - making it a convenient location for the ropeway access and a nice experience. Downstairs is a large living room concept with a wooden fire -- fun place to hang out and mingle/relax.

Few nice touches that provide for a nice experience -- every guest usually wears their yakuta attire they receive in the room. There is an onsen that you can use which is wonderful! The room has good amenities.

The service is a bit slower and maybe not as solutions-based as you might need, but everyone is nice.

The hotel offers shuttles to Gora,Sauzon stations - which is helpful if you take the train from Odawara to these stations. You can also reserve a shuttle from Odawara to hotel.

The hotel staff was accommodating though be aware that most have very little English. The shuttle service was efficient and useful but be aware the route is circuitous and not for those inclined to motion sickness. We very much enjoyed the Hakone experience especially the ropeway. We walked to town of Gora though it is very steep. We could not play our planned golf game due to lack of available taxis even though the concierge tried. The hotel is really showing its age with frayed upholstery and damaged wood finishes and outdated decor. The onsen bath was very clean and quiet and kept stocked with towels and amenities. The ‘welcome drink’ offered at check in was just the choice of a beer or wine (half glass) or cola. The beds were comfortable with high quality linens, and room service was responsive. We appreciated the Nespresso machine in the room and the provided water and coffee pods. In all a relaxing stay, but for the price it felt closer to a seniors retirement home than a Hyatt resort.

Puja had amazing service during breakfast, and breakfast was the best meal compared to the other resorts, although I wouldn’t eat lunch or dinner here. The resort is surrounded by beautiful trees and amazing scenery, Ryuji Yoshino went above and beyond in service to insure our group was taken care of, I would return to shake his hand again.

Love the view from my room and the shuttle service after check out. The food from the restaurant was AMAZING!!! Didn’t go in the onsen because of tattoos. Loved the breakfast. Downsides they only have a laundry service and not a laundry room.

Outstanding. Our stay at the Hyatt was the best, staff went out of their way to help us with absolutely everything and make our stay special. The shuttle service was great and so helpful for us to fit in doing as much as possible. The room was perfect, we chose “Mountain View” and it was a great choice. The Uzumi spa was very clean and had everything we needed to relax and wind down. Kids were happy and enjoyed the games and books available in the drawing room. I highly recommend this hotel.

This was an incredible place to stay. The area is beautiful and the hotel was great. The staff was so accommodating and there was a shuttle to take us too and from town, which was a life saver with the steep inclines. Such a pleasant hotel experience! The staff was beyond helpful and very friendly. There are both Japanese and western dining options at the hotel, as well as a delicious breakfast buffet. I would recommend at least booking breakfasts when you arrive as there are not many easily walkable restaurants, and the area is very hilly. The hotel does however offer free rides to multiple locations around Hakone. The hotel has a no clothes Onsen, and they provide free coverings for tattoos. This was by far my favorite room of the whole vacation. Our room (410) had an indoor terrace with a wall to wall massive window that can be opened to let in fresh air. We even had a view of Mt. Fuji and the sky rail that goes over Mt. Hakone. My only critiques of the hotel are that there is no gym, no coin laundry, and while the room was always nice and cool, the hallways and lobby aren’t air conditioned and can get pretty warm during the hot season.

Excellent Room for the family, breakfast was great. Location can be a bit remote but there is a free hotel shuttle service with limited time slots. Best to rent a car to get the full tour of the area.

The hotel was pleasant overall. The onsen was enjoyable, but it didn't stand out significantly. It appeared that more foreign guests were visiting the hotel than locals, affecting the atmosphere slightly. Some of these guests seemed to lack awareness or showed a disregard for local social customs, which was disappointing and made the atmosphere a little unpleasant.

고템바 아울렛 근처의 숙소를 찾다가 발견했습니다. 30분 정도 산길을 드라이브 해야되기 때문에 아울렛에서의 접근성은 그렇게 좋지는 않습니다. 오와쿠다니로 가는 케이블카역이 차로 3분 거리에 있어서 오와쿠다니 가기에는 매우 좋은 위치입니다. 호텔 자체가 굉장히 새련되고 예쁘고, 밤12시까지 하는 온천도 매력적입니다. 훌륭한 스태프가 잘 도와주고, 조식도 탑티어 입니다. 2명의 아기가 있어 다다미와 침대가 같이 있는 방으로 선택했는데, 아주 만족했습니다. 둘째가 배탈이 나서 흰죽을 주문했는데 아침, 점심에 메뉴에 없는 음식을 만들어주어서 너무 감사했습니다. 편안하게 2일 숙박했습니다. 추천합니다.

The hotel offers free shuttles to near by train stations and some points of interest, and they will also provide pu k up if you call. That made it very easy to get around. The dining options are somewhat limited; however, the quality of everything we had were excellent. The staff was so polite and nice. They all spoke English, so it’s a good destination hotel for foreigners.

We arrived to Hyatt regency hakone and were immediately escorted in and were told they were waiting for us. From that moment on, it was nothing but first class treatment from the entire staff. It was an incredible experience and the staff experience alone should make people run here in droves!! It sadly rained (4.5 inches in one day alone) while we were there but the staff was always helpful with information, alternative advice, and wonderful smiles. Would definitely recommend as they went above and beyond.

Nice retreat but not for older children

Lovely mountain retreat, very stylish.
Unfortunately unable to accommodate our 12year old daughter - even when we booked the room for 3 people. There were only 2 beds provided so she would have to sleep between us. The hotel refused to put up a futon for her so she had to sleep on the chairs. Shocking, seeing that all the other hotels we stayed in provided a bed or a sofa bed for her.

Excellent resort hotel, priced to match.

Lovely hotel, rooms and views. Very accommodating, for a price. Comparatively expensive for the other places we stayed in Japan, but they were excellent. Designed to be a resort, it is unnecessary to leave the property but they made everything in the area very easy to access. Common area and restaurants were very pleasant spaces to relax.

The shuttle service is very nice and it is a beautiful property. The ambiance and service is first class upon arrival and the room was very spacious and comfortable. The food we had was delicious but not different from room service and limited day time options. The onsen is great but people should teach their children to be quiet in the spa area. The only negative on service was we came in from the cold rain at 2:30, asked for the living room fire to be turned on in living room and were told no. For a high end property like this, it’s nice to cater to client needs if it’s reasonable (not sure an extra hour of fire going should be a big deal, but maybe it’s just me!)

Rooms were spacious and clean and the shuttle was very helpful. Just be sure to arrange for transportation ahead of time if you are doing things away from the hotel after shuttle hours.

Great hotel but I drink better coffee/ tea at home

Always enjoy my stay at this property but was disappointed this time with breakfast. They no longer serve drinks to order instead a big thermos for coffee and tea were on the counter, of course taste was subpar. The manager saw my surprise at this and offered drinks to order but I believe this should be a minimum standard for a brand like Hyatt Regency. In my humble opinion, you don’t need curry in the morning buffet but you should offer quality coffee and tea to kick off the day pleasantly.
