We just live everything about it. The rooms are so warm and cosy. The whole hotel is spotless, the cleaning ladies are lovely.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful. It would have been nice to have had a bar to have a drink in. We were a couple but our room had three beds, this didn’t give us much space, so a double/twin room would have been better. The breakfast arrangements were good and there was a good variety of food option. Overall, an enjoyable stay.

Nice Old School Hotel

The location of the hotel is good, but it is approximately a 10-15 minute walk to the city center. There are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants near the hotel and public transportation to the center is right outside the door. The hotel itself is a little bit \"old school\" but the rooms are comfortable and the bed was great. Breakfast had plenty of choices and everybody in the hotel was friendly and helpful. A few negatives: 1. Water pressure in the shower wasn't great. 2. Wifi signal in the room was really week. 3. Large metal key to the room. Overall a nice hotel and a good base to explore Krakow.

Perfect Location/Friendly and helpful Staff

I would highly recommend Hotel Maksymilian. We have traveled with our 11 year old autistic daughter and after making a reservation I have asked for a quiet room if at all possible. It was very nice to see the Hotel respond almost right away reassuring me that the room we have actually reserved is a quiet one with windows towards the courtyard. Lovely Lady has greeted us with a smile and was very helpful when we arrived. Room sparkly clean with plenty of space and 1.5 bath. We have had a suite which also had two actual rooms. Very friendly Staff - beginning with the reception, including housekeeping staff as well as Staff at the breakfast buffet, which also had plenty of choices. Even for my young very picky eater.
Hotel itself is located in an old building right in the center of Krakow. Along the way toward Marketplace are plenty of places to eat to chose from. We haven't tried the Hotel's restaurant so cannot attest to it but we looked at the menu and it also had plenty of good-sounding dishes to chose from.
I am hoping to be back in Krakow in the future and if possible - stay this particular Hotel again.

location was very convenient, only a 5-10 min walk to Main Market square.

Hotel Maksymilian was excellent. The location was very close to the city center as well as a parking lot if you rent a car. we visited in october and liked it so much we returned. If you want lots of space opt for a triple room. We chose a smaller room and were pleased with the cleanliness and balcony. This is a lovely friendly place where nothing is too much trouble when you need help. The hotel is a designated pick up point for out of town trips which is handy and they will happily arrange taxis or trips for you on arrival. You are near enough to the old town and we enjoyed walking around.The whole area is safe and families or singles should have no concern staying here. The buffet breakfast is plentiful and the on site restaurant good value, serving Polish dishes with daily specials. If you want a Travel lodge style hotel this is not for you but if you like rooms with character and feel you need English speaking staff then you will not be disappointed. Kindly they store your luggage until you leave for the airport on your last day too.

This Hotel was close to the old city center so the location was great. The room we had slept four and one of the beds was a pull-out which was uncomfortable. There were 3 other single beds and the room itself was fairly spacious. Unfortunately the room was on the street side of the building on the first floor and a trolly line/ light rail ran on the street, so it was not as quiet as we would have liked. I assume the rooms facing courtyard are quieter. We arranged car service from the airport through the hotel, both ways and were satisfied with the service. The receptionist spoke English. We had beers and then dinner one night in the courtyard which was enjoyable. Breakfast buffet was in a downstairs dining area and we enjoyed that as well. I would book again, if I could get a non-street side room.

Excellent hotel for exploring Kracow

The hotel is situated close to the main market square, where there is plenty of choice for eating, drinking and people watching, and various performances by entertainers throughout the day and evening.
The rooms are clean and perfectly adequate, and there is a courtyard to sit with a drink or a meal from the excellent value restaurant (food very good, well presented and better value than the most central places to eat).
Breakfast is well laid out with the usual juices, cereals, cold meats and cooked bacon and eggs etc.
The reception staff are particularly helpful and very pleasant,and seem to genuinely care about their paying guests with really great customer service.
I booked guided trips to Auchwitz and the Salt Mine via the hotel and was picked up and dropped back there by the tour company. (Auschwitz obviously extremely harrowing but highly recommended and thought provoking, Salt Mines OK but rather too long to maintain interest throughout the guided tour).
I would be happy to recommend this hotel as a very good value choice and will certainly use it again if I return to Krakow.

This Hotel is without doubt ,the nicest and most convenient I have stayed in. Had a Family stay to celebrate my Birthday and our 30th Anniversary. The Hotel Maksymilian is so convenient for Centrum, the main square and OldTown( 5 -10 minutes away)...and the Castle.Rooms are comfortable,clean and well heated with Air Conditioning.Nice bathroom and shower.Toiletries supplied as were 2 bottles of Spring water daily. Breakfast was super and set us up for the day. The Restaurant was very nice as was the Bar and it was nicely priced and inexpensive.Helpful reception staff and courteous and friendly general Staff made this a fantastic stay for us all .We shall return ...

Room Tip: Lots of stairs to 2nd and 3rd floors but that kept us fit.

Nice hotel, close to the market square

Hotel is close to the old town and railway station. Our room was large and warm which was great considering how cold it was. Comfortable beds and big bathroom with complimentary toiletries. We were at the back of the hotel which was quiet, I would imagine it would be noisier at the front with the trams and traffic. There is tea/coffee making facilities and bottled water in the rooms and a TV which is mostly in Polish apart from a British news channel but you don't go to Krakow to watch television. The hotel bar is cosy and reasonably priced but closed at 10pm but there is an abundance of places nearby if you want to stay out later. Breakfast is continental but more than enough to start your day. We didn't try the restaurant so can't comment on the food. The staff are so pleasant and helpful. Reception staff will help with information on places to visit and how to get there.

The hotel staff were excellent.The restaurant and bar was very good as was the service prices were very reasonable we ate there on a few nights no complaints whatsoever would definitely recommend.Only downside was the bar closed at 10pm because it was't busy but that is understandable.All in all a very pleasant stay I would recomend this hotel having stayed in Krakow on a number of occasions in different hotels.Thanks to all at Maksymilian.

Close to centre of the city, but reasonable rates.

Never been to Poland/Krakow before. Found the hotel to be an excellent base for sightseeing. Easy to get around. Lots of public transport options and very cheap, including train from the airport. Taxi prices seemed to vary, so always best to check price first. Only there for 3 days, but felt we managed to fit a lot in, although would need to go back to see more and travel further afield. Krakow is a lovely place to visit. The Christmas market in the main square was a nice experience, particularly in the evening when it is lit up and there are lots of food/drink stalls, as well as xmas decorations and nice gift / present options. The city is very unspoilt and full of character, as all the original buildings are still standing.

We chose well. The tram stop was just outside the hotel, but trams were quiet and unobtrusive. Hotel Maksymilian is a very friendly, well run hotel. Our room was spotless and adequate in size for a city break stay. The hotel was always clean and tidy in public areas. An excellent choice at breakfast and a fantastic evening meal menu. Apple pie especially tasty! Watermelon smoothie was also a favourite as we enjoyed sunshine throughout our 6 day stay. The staff were courteous, very efficient and enjoyed a little chat when their duties permitted. Restaurant staff were young and very hard working. Thanks also goes to the behind the scene staff we did not encounter for making our stay so enjoyable. When we return to Kraków we shall choose the Maksymilian again.

Ideally located, within easy walking reach of the main attractions in Kraków. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was a good size, clean and comfortable. It was very hot during our staff yet although there was air con, it wasn't needed. Breakfast was great too with a wide selection of foods to suit most tastes, and this was served in a buffet-style. There is a restaurant and bar attached - looked nice although we only had a beer in the pleasant courtyard before going out into the main old town. Really great hotel, would stay there again if we were in Kraków again.

Breakfast was varied and fresh, although the breakfast room itself was slightly awkward when busy. The best thing about the hotel was the staff, they were really helpful, knowledgable and friendly. Wifi was good enough to stream TV, although couldn't find any English speaking channels on the hotel TV, this is clearly a very minor complaint. Overall, we really liked this hotel and would happily stay again, it offered great value for money

Recently stayed at this hotel for a week.

We have been to Krakow 3 times in the last 18 months and each time we have stayed at a different comparable sized hotel within easy reach of the old town. This was the best of the 3 hotels that we have stayed at (the other two were good as well).

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. For example we had a problem with the air conditioning unit and they resolved the matter straight away. Nothing was of too much trouble.

The room was of a good size. We had asked for a courtyard facing room and that was what we got. It was very quiet at nights (apart from the last night, rowdy students staying in the room down the corridor). Sleep quality was good.

Tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Breakfast was also good and the hotel did vary the cooked choices each day. The main breakfast area is small however so at peak times it can get cosy and you have to wait for seating. You may also have to wait for breakfast items to be replenished.

The restaurant and bar are also good. Patronage by guests was good.

Meal and drink prices are cheaper in the hotel than in many of the main establishments in the centre.

Relatively small hotel, great location for walking around Krakow - 15 minutes to main train station, 5 minutes to old town. Nice breakfast, friendly staff at front desk. However, disappointed/annoyed by end of stay due to very poor wifi and paper thin walls. Taken advantage of by hotel restaurant staff. My fault for giving them the opportunity, but they still jumped on the chance to fleece me - not too cool. Find somewhere better if possible!

Great hotel, just a ten minute walk from the main square. Excellent location. Reception and greeting very friendly. Room was spotlessly clean and a mix between Polish tradition and modern. The hotel bar was good and the young barman, who always seemed to be there, was friendly and funny. Breakfast was good, mostly continental with cold meats and cheese and a few hot items. I stayed here for 4 nights in September. The hotel is in a great location that is within walking distance to many attractions. It is quiet. Upon check-in, they give you a coupon for a discount at their restaurant-which has good food at very reasonable prices. (I was skeptical at 1st-but given my jet-lagged state and 1st night in a new city, I decided to give it a try). The breakfast had plenty of options-usually 3 hot food choices with various cheeses, meats and vegetables to choose from. The staff was always pleasant and helpful.

Nice Hotel Near Old Town

This is a very nice hotel that is within walking distance of the town square in Old Town in Krakow. It is also in walking distance to the Jagiellonian University. The staff were very helpful and made sure our stay was a good one. The room was very clean and comfortable, and a full breakfast is served every day that is very good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Krakow.

Hotel okay for a few days break if you get a room with windows! Unfortunately we didn't and were in the attic which only had 2 skylight windows (fifth floor) with thin blinds on them so let in the light. No windows in the bathroom.
The room was clean but very claustrophobic. Electric sockets were not easily located for where the kettle and desk light were placed.
Breakfast was just adequate - not much choice of hot food and repetitive. There was fruit and ham and cheeses and different breads.
The restaurant was good - nice staff and very good food but only opened from 1p.m. so impossible to get a drink or snack during the morning.
No lounge area so if the weather is bad you are confined to your room.
Having said all that, it wasn't expensive and if you avoid the fifth floor it's an okay, handily placed hotel for sightseeing.

A very clean and comfortable hotel.

On our arrival the staff were very helpful and were able to answer all questions we had.
The hotel was very nice and well located for the City centre. We only had breakfast in the hotel which was a hot and cold buffet and quite varied and of a good standard.
We have no complaints about the hotel at all.

The hotel iscentrally located and good value for your money. However he rooms are small. The breakfast was very good, he receptionist staff were all polite and helpful however thi canot be said for some of the staff working and serving in the restaurant.

Excellent location to city centre

The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful even before arrival. I enquired about taxi rates from the airport which they provided as well as offering organised taxi transfers that they would organise. The staff were always polite and attentive. The breakfast included many types of bread, meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, boiled eggs and a range of hot alternatives which were sufficient for our needs. The rooms were large and clean and serviced daily with free bottles of water and teas and coffees. The staff also arranged a trip for us to Auschwitz.

Brilliant stay.

The hotel Maksymilian is a fabulous hotel a ten minute walk to the main square. It is very clean and the room was comfortable and a generous size. Breakfast was excellent and with plenty of choice which set you up for the day's activities. The courtyard offers a pleasant area to enjoy a glass of wine and provided respite from the sun ( it was 90 degrees during our stay ) The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone who wants to enjoy the Krakow experience. BRILLIANT!

A garden lining it to the old town

The restaurant serves good food at reasonable price. It closes lat too which is a bonus. The area is linked to the river by a garden that run all the way into the old town- castle area which is a pleasant walk.

Ideal hotel to explore Krakow

We had a wonderful time in Krakow. The hotel is very well located, just walking distance to the Old Town. The room was big and had everything you can ask for and towels,gels, etc were changed daily, in addition to complementary water. however, beds could be more comfortable. Breakfast was good with good selection of cheeses and cold meets, plus fruit,yogurt and cereals. Services was great.

Good value for money hotel.

Great location easy walk to main square. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable, but decor was a bit dated. We had a room in the front and the trams were quite noisy, but they stopped running at around 11:30, and we actually got used to them. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and plentiful. Overall we thought the hotel provided great value for money.
