The property was clearly an older lower quality hotel that Hilton purchased and tried to revamp. It was connected to a Hampton inn. The stench of you smelled when you walked in lingered through the entire hotel. The elevators were sketchy and dirty. The rooms carpet smelled like someone spilled spoiled milk that someone put carpet cleaner and vacuumed. There was rust around the bathroom, no light in the bathroom light fixture. Their wall behind the door felt like if you pushed it would cave in, the pillow had stains on! I stayed at plenty of Hilton hotels, resorts, etc this was not up to their standard and did not meet our standards. We did not complain as we were running the entire time and just literally slept there. We may have stayed on the hotel for a total of 12 hours in the 2 days we were there. Then when we checked out they charged us a smoking fee stating they have sensors in the room that detected smoke. No one in my families smokes and never has, the only smoke in the room could have been from my daughter blow drying and straightening her hair. I am so disappointed with Hilton, and they way this turned out! The staff are adamant that their device is 100% accurate and fail proof so is that has never smoked is being charged a $300 fee! I will never patronize Hilton again if they do not correct this because honestly they shouldn’t just give back the $300 smoking fee but credit the entire stay because it was not as advertised, definitely a bate and switch!

We stayed at this Hilton location last night, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience.

During the night, a couple in a nearby room appeared to be having a serious physical altercation in the hallway. We could hear yelling and what sounded like people hurting each other. We contacted the front desk, but the response was not helpful, and it took a very long time for law enforcement to arrive.

The next morning at approximately 8:30 a.m., a housekeeping staff member opened our room door without knocking or announcing herself. We had to yell for her to close the door. It felt as though staff were rushing guests out rather than respecting their privacy.

When we left around 10:30 a.m., there was shattered glass outside our room and the neighboring room, which appeared to be related to the disturbance from the night before. The area had not yet been cleaned, creating both a safety concern and an unpleasant environment.

I also wanted to speak with a manager regarding these issues, but I was informed that no manager would be on site until 12:00 p.m.

Overall, this was not a positive experience. Between the safety concerns, lack of responsiveness from staff, privacy issues, and poor follow-up, this stay did not meet the standards I expect from a Hilton property.

The hot water wasn’t working in our room and an engineer came to fix it, but it still didn’t work after that. There was old sushi left in our fridge that we found at 10:30 at night and it stunk up the room. My fathers room was the handicap accessible room and the elevator next to the accessible rooms wasn’t working, so we had to wheel him the length of a football field to get to the front only working elevator. The breakfast was the lowest quality breakfast I have ever seen and it was $25! Free breakfast at all other hotels is better than this. It was honestly a disaster of a stay. And, when we complained , there was nothing acknowledged and no accommodating made. I have stayed in hiltons in the past that have made their mistakes right. This one was a disaster. NEVER again.

Overall, the Hilton Parsippany is a nice place to stay with good amenities. The front desk staff is polite and prompt in responding to questions. There is an attractive lobby with a convenience store, café/bar, Ruth Chris Steakhouse and comfortable lounge seating and meeting spaces. The gym is well equipped with weights, treadmills, ellipticals and a couple Peletons. There is an indoor pool that is open, and the outdoor pool was closed (typical in the fall/winter). The Spa was not open.

Our room was generally comfortable with nice beds and linens, a fridge, and a comfy built-in sofa that abuts the window-side of the room. The only thing I would say could be improved was the air conditioner. It seemed as though one side of the room did not get enough circulation. Although, in the fall it was not a concern.

This hotel has a multitude of good restaurants close by (Seasons 52, Capital Grille, Miller’s Ale House) as well as Starbucks, Walgreens etc. I would stay here again.

We arrived later in the evening. The staff member was pretty scattered. He was the only person at the front desk.

He made check in stressful.

We got to the room the temperature was around 75. thought it was due to no one being in the room and they keep the room at a higher temp. The next morning the temperature was 83 we called the front desk no answer. We had things to do that day so said we would address it when we returned. That night we we returned the temp in the room was still 83 we called the front desk again no answer. We turned the system off to try and reset it while we went to dinner downstairs. Told the guy working the front desk there was an issue with our a/c. He said he would send someone up. We got back to our room after midnight unit was still off. Turned it back on temp was now 84 per thermostat. I called the front desk several no answer. Next morning the thermostat still read 83. We took the keys to the front desk and told the lady what happened and she said sorry I'll have someone look at it.

The advertised photo of the outside scenery is nothing like that in person day nor night. Before arriving, I made a call to inform the Hotel my arrival wouldn't be exactly at 3pm as book through Expedia due to traffic. I was told that they didn't do 3pm check-in's only 4pm, but they've find a room available if the arrival is before 4pm. Once arrived I was told the key for the room would have to be returned the next for a new set. They supposedly were resetting room locks, but my guest and I were the only ones when checking in told this. The room (poolside) I was given was infested with ants crawling unto me while sitting on the bed, luggage, tables, and I seen that they were crawling from the patio door. I was only in the room less than 20 minutes. I was given free breakfast vouchers for the inconvenience along with a new room. The new room still had ants crawling from the shower drain, and the window side of the nightstand of the new room. The next day when I gave the temporary key back for the actual sets, once back from the day out neither keys worked for the room. I had to travel multiple times from the 5th floor to the front desk just for one of the two keys to actual work for the room. In both rooms when it came to the garbage cans, the bag wasn't placed in it, its left to the guest to do. That may be minor, but with all these inconvenience's that I experienced just added to this hotel not meeting my expectations. I won't recommend nor stay again.

Underwhelming experience.
Prom party and a wedding during the same weekend made for a very busy, crowded, untidy and even a messy experience. Despite the large parking facility, the lack of sufficient parking stood out as particularly annoying, especially because we were charged for it. Great, the property had a prosperous weekend with all the booked events but, it came at a cost to the guests staying there. Other observations, perhaps it is time to think about refreshing the room? With so many other hotel options in the area, I am likely to consider those options for my future visits.

- Housekeeping does not do their job correctly & often does not show up at all (even after requesting at the end of the day)
- The front desk employees are not helpful
- They try to get an extra $300 out of guests by saying you are smoking in the room. They don't say sorry when they realize they are wrong for accusing you
- If you request something simple like towels because housekeeping never replaced them, they say they will send someone and no one ever comes
- The floor in the shower is literally peeling off and they think that is ok

The fire alarm went off during our stay, and no one would answer what happened. We weren't even ushered out of the building. We were told by the fire department to leave, and there was no communication on when it would be safe to come back in. We noticed people were still going in and out of the building while the alarm was going off, but we were told we couldn't. We eventually found out the alarm was something to do with the kitchen on the completely opposite side of this massive hotel, but we weren't allowed back into our room until the alarm stopped.

The floors are also a huge maze. Front desk was unclear on the easiest way to an elevator, and it took forever to find. The signs were not clearly marked, and the one elevator we ended up finding was tucked into a corner and very easy to miss if you were going quick.

Property was clean, and the housekeeping staff was extremely friendly when we passed by them. We only chose it because of the shuttle for the wedding we were attending, but we would not have chosen it otherwise and will not go again.
