At 11-30pm some construction work seemed to start on a floor above. On reporting to reception it still continued for over 30 minutes before ending.
Sadly they didn’t ask at checkout how my stay was and no apology.

Great hotel

Iconic hotel, very nice and helpful staff.
Special thanks to their assistant manager, Sagar Chavan. Unexpectedly, I arrived 1 day prior to my other family members, late night. Despite high load of guests, Sagar tried his best to give me the room one night earlier and he made it! That was a great relief after a long stressful trip.
24 hours room service is a plus.
Breakfast buffet was excellent with numerous items and the kind staff in the breakfast area approached frequently to make sure we get everything.
Overall, it was an unforgettable stay and I highly recommend this hotel.

Fantastic stay here at the Andaz Capital Gate Abu Dhabi. Check in service staff were wonderful and very hospitable. Check in was a swift 3 minutes and very pleasant. Our service from Ram was also top notch! He was very helpful! The hotel and rooms are very nice and clean! The photos do not do it justice. It is much nicer in person. From check in to check out our stay was simply a fantastic experience. The welcome at check in was smiling and efficient, as were all the services (concierge, restaurant, café, bar, pool, ...) we enjoyed during the 2 days we stayed at the hotel. Unique property in that the building leans - very neat and tidy - staff were extreamly friendly - check in process was ok (waited but not too long) - we felt that breakfast was expensive at 130aed per person - we opted not to have breakfast at the hotel - room was on the smaller side but very neat and comfortable - good view from our window on the high floor - few complimentary items in the bar fridge - everything considered it is a very nice hotel and we will go back

It is so convenient for the Adac conference center with easy access by taxi to downtown Abu Dhabi. The decor is superb with splendid original paintings to be admired. The reception on the 18th floor is incredible and the staff so professional. The rooms are well appointed with an incredible view. It is worth the little more than the surrounding hotels. Especially appreciated the outdoor pool on the 19th floor.

First impressions of the hotel are good enough, the arrival and lobby area is nice.

We arrived at 3.30pm and our room wasn’t ready until 4pm, despite check-in being from 3. This was slightly annoying but no major deal. The hotel staff also seemed miserable, the only friendly ones we encountered were the security guard and valet outside and the restaurant staff.

Luckily we only stayed for one night, the pillows were by far the worst I’ve experienced, in a hotel or anywhere else. The AC in the room sounded old and rickety, there’s no noise protection from outside, you can hear anyone walking down the hallway, and worst of all the room constantly creeks during the night, it literally sounded as though someone was walking around in our room. I’ve probably stayed at 50+ different hotels in my life and this is the first time I’ve ever felt the need to write a review at how bad it was.

Apart from the awful sleeping conditions (probably the most important part) the hotel is fine, but it certainly doesn’t justify it’s price tag, you could stay at a holiday inn for a third of the price and get better service and comfort.

We stayed at the Andaz for a conference next door at the convention center. The location was perfect for the event and the hotel met our expectations on every level. The room was spacious with an amazing view, the pool was likewise gorgeous, and the restaurant was top notch. The staff from the front desk to the cleaning crew were friendly and went above and beyond. Everyone was incredible! I will definitely stay here again when in Abu Dhabi next time.

This was the quietest hotel (room) I've ever stayed in. The architecture inside and out is breath-taking. Breakfast is fantastic. Public areas (restaurant and lobby) are very nice and inviting. I've traveled quite a bit and stayed in a lot of hotels worldwide. This is probably one of my top 3 favorites anywhere. The only drawback is that is it a little bit far from centers of activity. But taxis, which are reliable and cheaper than Uber, are fantastic.

The building as an architecture piece stands out. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and kind and they knew us by name upon our arrival.

The location of the hotel is a bit off but we knew that prior to our arrival and we chose it on purpose. It is very close to Sheikh Zayed mosque.

And taxi drivers know the hotel by Hyatt name and not Andaz. Apparently hey have been recently rebranded as an Anda by Hyatt branding.

Great city hotel

The Andaz capital gate is positioned at the exhibition centre. We used it for our base for the Grand Prix for 7 days. Fabulous welcome large rooms. Small but pleasant pool area on the 19th floor of the worlds most “leaning” building. We had steak sandwich and monitors for lunch at the pool - yum! Can’t fault a thing.
Our trip was split between Capital Gate and Fairmont Bab al Bahr both 5* and offer a different high quality experience.

If you are here for an event at the convention center, this place is perfect. Otherwise, consider a couple issues. The hotel/convention center is out in the middle of nowhere, so you need a cab to go into town. The window offers lousy views because the building has all these supports to make that lean. The parking is not so convenient. It is intended more for the convention center and not for this hotel.
However, the staff was excellent.

The hotel is amazing. A little bit out of the way but I rented a car and the streets were empty it wasn't a problem for me. The style of the building is very alluring. Front desk service was prompt and helpful going as far as to write down names and addresses of happening clubs, lounges, restaurants and malls.
Mr. Akash from concierge went up and beyond to help me plan and confirm tours and excursions. Thank you thank you thank you. I spent alot of time at the pool and spa. Wonderful messages, manicures and pedicures was very relaxing. Thank you again. I most definitely will stay here again my next trip to Abu Dhabi.

In a league of its own

As I write this review from another company's 5* hotel in Dubai, I am reminded of all the things that set the HCG apart from the rest. Even though both hotels are in their quiet periods, and both hotels still have plenty of guests, the HCG was at all times peaceful and very relaxing, with no other noices to be heard, thanks to the spacious rooms, wall-to-wall carpets, two layers of triplex glass between the room and the outside world, and a general design that makes one feel as comfortable as at home.

The professionalism and sincere friendliness of the staff suggests that they all enjoy working at the HCG, and that they genuinely want their guests to be happy. This was our third experience at the hotel over four years, and it is now our hotel of choice for Abu Dhabi, even though it is out of the centre. On that point, taxies are plentiful and relatively cheap, making it inexpensive and not too difficult to get to the corniche, the Grand Mosque, the massive Yas Mall, or even the Louvre, with none of those single journies costing more than 50 dirhams (about £10).

It's an awesome hotel if you are attending a conference in the nearby conference center! If you are looking for beach or a pool, look elsewhere! its pool is a small one on the 19th floor! And you have no direct access to the beach! Other than that, the rooms and other amenities are exceptional.

When I arrived, for some reason they had a note that my cancellation had been cancelled, but they made sure they made things aright and from then on I can't say enough about the wonderful staff (from the reception to the concierge to the doormen. The location was perfect for business (next to exhibition center) but nowhere near anything else to do in Abu Dhabi.

We would have given it 5 stars had not 2 things happened. 1) The lady in reception told us clearly that the Louvre museum was open on the only day it was not - Monday. So we wasted a lot of time and money going there and back only to be turned away. 2) the Concierge got us a taxi to the airport driven by the only driver in Abu Dhabi who did not know how to get there! When he finally did make iit, mostly with our help, he had no idea where to drop us off! It is a business oriented hotel so I would not choose it for a leisure holiday.
