Our room was in the basement which overall wasn’t a problem but the biggest issue was no hot water in the room in the morning - cold shower! I reported it to the reception staff in the morning on check out and he didn’t even attempt to apologise or offered to sort it out. This was very poor!

I really liked the hotel until we had a flood in the room (the ceiling leaked into a suitcase). At 4am I went out to notify the front desk. They did nothing. The next morning we asked for help with our sodden clothes. They gave us a garbage bag. I wound up throwing out some of our wet clothing. The experience completely ruined what had been an otherwise pleasant stay.

Great hotel in perfect prime location for what we needed. Check in was smooth and the young gentleman was very helpful. Good sized room and very clean, would use again. No lift so if you had a large suitcase it would need to be taken up the stairs but for us with a small suitcase it was no issue.

The rooms were small but well appointed. We especially appreciated the blackout curtains and the comfortable bed. The hotel has no lift, as advertised. It was fine for us but the number of stairs (even to the second floor) could be a challenge for some. The location was great. We were able to walk to many locations and for the areas a bit further it’s only 10 min walk to Victoria station or the river to catch an Uber ferry. Highly recommend for a comfortable clean place to lay your head after long days in London.

Honestly felt staff wasn’t very accommodating and sometimes rude. Also the rooms were so small. I could not shave my legs in the shower as it was so small you could not bend down. The hand soap was in the shower because the room was so small there was literally no counter space to place anything like a soap.

The staff is great! Absolutely accommodating and the rooms are clean but the mattress and the pillows are a hard pillow to swallow.my husband and I had a horrible night of sleep. I was there the night before running the London Marathon and boy that pulled a number on me. Was awake for most of the night and my marathon was a nightmare :(
It might be a great option if you’re traveling alone and just sightseeing but dont try to go with someone else and please dont stay here if youre running the marathon! =(

Very quaint hotel. Not a lot of amenities. If you want a place to shower, and sleep this will do the the job. Nice staff. Easily walkable to a lot of area attractions. Not the quietest. We were on the bottom level, you hear everyone walking above you.

The room was compact and bijou (as advertised) but relatively modern and clean.
However, the bed was far too soft and uncomfortable and was on such a slope I almost fell out of it. Had to sleep sideways.
Freezing cold shower. When I told the chap on reception, you could see he cared and was worried about my review. I wasn't going to write one, particularly as they didn't get a chance to put these things right as I wasn't staying for anymore nights, but as I actually asked me to rate my stay with a score out of 10... I'm giving it!

The hotel is nothing like it is pictured. The rooms are small and dirty. I had a room right next to the laundry and cleaning area and staff were talking loudly and calling people on speakerphone. For what I paid, I was extremely disappointed and checked out within a few hours. Luckily I did receive a full refund.

The reception staff were very friendly. My room as beautifully clean. Very comfortable bed and could not fault the accommodation. I do feel the receptionist/concierge could have offered to call for a taxi on both occasions of my going out for dinner in the evening and leaving the hotel the following day. On both occasions I had to ask and only then was the arrival of the taxi very efficient. Otherwise I could not fault the hotel at all.

I like this property because they are good price and newly renovated. It is a small place but it’s clean and close to a lot of cafe and restaurants. The most important thing is close to Victoria station. The not so good thing is that there is no elevator and our room is on the 3rd.

There was a small issue that the staff immediately addressed. Each time I would see any member of the staff they were always quick with a hello and making sure there was nothing I needed during my stay. It is a small boutique hotel, but that gives the staff time to care for each guest. The shower is a bit tight, but I am a bit large.

Very small room bed linen had long dark hair everywhere. No room to walk round the bed. The shower wasn’t very hot. Reception ok, no lift access which was poor given we were on the 4th floor. Convenient for many things to do.

Hotel was good, rooms are much smaller in person, we booked here because of the rooms being presented as larger, that is not the case they are quite small, with small bathrooms. There’s a step into the bathroom (1”) I sliced my foot open, rather sucked. Areas quiet and easy enough to train into town, lots of cafes etc around. Overall I’d say 7/10

Comfortable bed, hot shower everything you need for a good rest whilst away in London.Hotel is in a great location easy walking to Westminster and Pimlico tube is 3 mins walk so perfect. This property is far too small. The room was not much bigger than a decent walk in closet. The bed was pushed into the wall on one side so it was not possible to get out of bed without climbing over your partner. The show was so tight you could not bend down to pick up the soap if you dropped it. And to add insult to injury, there was no elevator! We had to drag our backs to the fourth floor via the stairs....quite a hall! I even had to help another party because I felt so bad for them doing the same thing. The staff were not very helpful either. One guy did what he could but that was all. He was just as frustrated as we were. I won't rent there again. It was a fire trap and for the price, simply not worth half of what we paid. The only positive was the location was good as it was about 10 mins walk to Victoria Station. Maybe its all my fault. I should have read the specs more carefully. Beware though, you should find better.

Stayed June 24/25 , 2024. Cramped. No Lift-3rd floor -a long way with two heavy suitcases. No wine glasses-told we had to drink out of a mug-went for extra mug but couldn't find one. No breakfast. Rooms tiny. Bathroom tiny.
No lobby. Horribly overpriced. Will not stay there again.

Good service & very pleasant staff. Location is decent. Bus stop is nearby and lots of great restaurants nearby. Train station is 10-12 mins walk away. We were lucky to get a room at the ground level, as there is no elevator. I know this ahead but they will carry your luggage up for you. Room (#G-2) is long and a little narrow. Had to squeeze to get to my side of the bed. Room is clean and it would have been nice to have a small fridge or even a cooler box.

Nice location, rooms were clean but very small. No hot water to shower in the morning. The only way to get a hot shower was if you showered in the middle of the afternoon or very late in the evening. The staff didn’t seem to care when you asked if they could check why there wasn’t hot water. We were traveling with two other couples and we had to let each other know when we were showering. The gentlemen who was at the front desk when we arrived at the hotel was very rude and didn’t want to be bothered. He was also the same gentlemen that was there when we checked out. He was the same staff member that we complained about the hot water to. They ran out of hand towels and tissues. Had are room cleaned but they didn’t change the sheets the entire time we were there. Hopefully they get things fixed and better staff so when guests want to return to London they would choose the same hotel.

The hotel is in a great neighborhood close to Buckingham Palace and it is quite nice however we found that both our toilet and bathroom sink faucet were loose and the shower drain does not drain as quickly as the shower head water pressure supplies the shower so you very quickly risk overflowing the shower basin - maybe this was done by design so as to prevent long showers and help preserve the available hot water but you literally have to shut the water off every 30 seconds to allow the basin to fully drain.

Beautiful interiors and helpful staff. Window had a slight opening at all times (even when properly closed) so it was a bit drafty and sounds from outside were loud. But it's an older building, so this might be expected, just bring earplugs. Overall highly recommended as the transport options nearby and walking distances to hotspots are fantastic.

Reasonable for new years eve stay.

Lovely hotel, but no hot water both mornings, i took a shower. When i told reception, they didnt seem surprised and said to wait 30 minutes for the water to heat up. Constant Load humming sound on the lower ground floor. This could be disruptive, for light sleepers. Luck for me, it was no issue. Loved the large bath towels, and room was nice for a short stay.

Arrived at Hotel to find the room we had booked wasn't available (mysterious kleak just before we arrived!!). We were told no other rooms were available, so we would have to stay at their sister Hotel. We were left to find our own way there, although to be fair this wasn't far.

The room we were given in this \"sister\" Hotel was very small and we were kept awake all night by the air conditioning.

I believe this chain just over book rooms in both their Hotels and you have to make do with what you get on arrival

On arrival the receptionist was polite and friendly .
The whole property was clean &well presented .
The only disaster was the awful bed , it didn’t seem to be level hence we felt like we were going to roll out !
The shower was far to small -the shower head had no pressure & it flooded on the floor . To be told there was problems with the drain . If this was the case why wasn’t it sorted ?

The room was a tiny box on the top floor without any ventilation. I couldn't breathe. The window was locked shut, there was no fan, nor was there any air circulation. It felt like what I imagine it would be to sleep in a coffin.

This is the worst place we have stayed in for a long time. No ac and the windows do not open. It was over 100 degrees outside and even hotter inside. We couldn’t sleep at all and sweat all night. The linens had dirt stains all over them and the they left vacuums outside the entrance of the room. Unclean, hot and unprofessional. Will never stay again.

This hotel has been recently renovated but for some reason they didn’t get the air con to work. It was June and not even one of the hottest days it was around 22 degrees - I was the lucky one and had a room on the 2nd floor so the window opened. My colleague had a room on the 3rd floor that the windows didn’t open, she is the type of person who is never too hot and even she couldn’t stand it. Oh and there is no lift and no dining facilities. The rooms are actually quite nice but when I went to shower the top section leaked when using the handheld one so ended up in the corner of the shower trying not to get my hair wet, whilst using my shampoo as body wash as they only provided body lotion in the shower and not body wash. So no I would not stay there again. Plenty of better hotels in the area

Usually, I'm an idle review writer but we had a great experience at Victor Hotel in London. We stayed here for 1 night, just at the end of a longer trip to the countryside. A few days before our stay I received an email that warned us that there are some construction work going on at the hotel and warning that because if that there will be no wifi at the moment. As we had to stay one night and just needed a place where to sleep a few hours before the early flight, that was not important at all. When arriving we had a pleasant surprise as it turned out that the hotel had some reconstruction recently and we were the first ones to stay in a completely renovated room.
1. Room was on the first floor, and we had a nice street view. The room was spacious, with two twin beds, tea/coffee-making facilities, a hairdryer, large tv, an ironing board hidden in the closet, and a safe. Stayed here only one night but could stay here even longer.
2. Hotel is just a walk away from Victoria Station - important if traveling to/from Gatwick Airport. Even closer you can find Sainsbury, Tesco Express and lots of small lovely restaurants/coffees.
3. Room interior was modern (loved marble lightbulbs in the room, see photo) and convenient. We enjoyed being the first ones to stay in a renovated room.
4. Can't comment on breakfast facilities, we left very early.
5. Team was very nice and helpful. Hotel has 24h reception which is nice.

Has much potential but didn’t enjoy stay

Received an email saying that they are undergoing remodeling and that the internet “may be unstable”. They offered to waive the cancellation policy to book another hotel but at that point I figured it’d be okay if it’s just the internet. Went in the morning and the lady in the front was extremely rude and said that we should just cancel. After walking into 4 different hotels that were either full or the rate was 50 euros more than our current one, I asked if it was just the WiFi issue and when she said yes, agreed to stay. Early check in wasn’t possible so I left my luggage in the lobby. Checked in later and we found two huge toe nail clippings when my mom stepped on one. Clearly the floor was not vaccumed. The heater/ac system also didn’t work and hot water shut off after 3 min in shower. Checked out early next morning and mentioned it to the gentleman at the front desk. He was very polite and agreed it wasnt acceptable and said he will talk to manager about a refund. It has been almost 48 hours and no email about such refund.

Someone operating a circular saw literally the other side of my room door at 8am one morning was a particular highlight.

Aircon doesn’t seem to work … last resident’s shaving hairs on the sink …builder mess everywhere. But a comfy bed.

So yeah, not that great right now.

“Check-in” is in the utility room in the basement. Smells dirty and moldy.
No wifi.
Smoke detectors are covered up with plastic caps - extreme danger and complete ignorance of fire code.
Construction noises all day.
No heat, no air conditioning- the controller simply doesn’t work.
No soap in the bathroom.
Rooms are newly renovated so will eventually be a decent place to stay, but for the price they are charging during renovations I suggest you find a better and safer place.

Building work was ongoing during my stay. I was informed of this by the hotel prior to my stay with the option to cancel. Reception was moved to the basement due to the work but the staff were really friendly and helpful. Work was heing carried out in the reception and staircase. My room was newly renovated and quite bug for London, I was really impressed. Bed was comfy and the room had tea and coffee as well as shampoo and shower gel. Checkout was easy the next day and didnt need to check out until 11.

Terrible. Told a few days before I arrived that their would be some refurbishment going in. A different entrance and no Wi-Fi. What they didn’t say was that their was no reception apart from a check in store room. No bar, no lounge. They have gutted all the rooms and every room they finish they put on sale. I had to step over laundry bundles and walk through bare floor boards to get to room. 8am each morning the drilling and hammering started. It was an awful experience and the rate I paid never changed . Staff seemed stressed and even told me they were stressed. I will never stay here again .

A noisy building site , reception was a basement storeroom, 8am woke up two days in a row by drilling and hammering , stressed and grumpy staff, no toilettes until asked for, no food, no bar, two sleepless nights with noisy neighbours in next room with paper thin walls . And I never got so much and £100 per night .

There was some building work at the hotel whilst we were staying there and it was such a pain. I wish we had not stayed there it was so noisy form 7am in the morning, one morning the first alarm went of 6/7 times! On top of this we had a cold shower and our heating system/ aircon system wasn’t working, what a shambles…

Ideal Location

Hotel was very good considering it undergoing a complete refurbishment . Room was very clean, Unfortunately no towel changes, Tea -Coffee-Milk refills had to be asked for.
Staff very friendly & always happy to help.Ideal Loacation for exploring London though. Would use again.

Nice room but too much building work.

Pros- Really helpful and friendly reception staff. Accomodated request for different room as allocated one very newly refurbed and strong paint fumes. Kindly stored our larger suitcases instead of taking up 3 flight stairs- no lift.

Cons- Hotel undergoing loads of renovation/refurbishment. Felt very much like staying at a building site . Would have appreciated atleast some notice it advance warning of this.

Hotel being renovated so a lot of work in progress as we got to our room. Bedroom was tastefully decorated and clean.

Although this hotel has building work going on and the place was a little noisy & dusty, the price per room and its location was perfect! All building work stopped at 5pm so it never interferes with our stay.
We were lucky enough to be placed in a brand new room which was modern and had all that we needed.
We were 5 minutes away from shops, restaurants and only 10 minutes away from the theatre & Victoria tube and about 8 minutes from Pimlico.
I would stay there again for the price I paid and it’s great location.

Hotel is being remodeled, lots of construction but room was very very modern, clean and cozy, staff was awesome!! Very satisfied
