Older property refreshed with new furniture and decor. Bathroom is still old. Every time people above us used shower/toilet it sounded like water was rushing in our unit. Needs better insulation for sure. Was fine for one night in Solvang but felt quite basic. I hear the cottages are nicer than the rooms.

The room was not at all reflective of the photos online which was disappointing as that's part of the reason I booked this over another property. There were issues with cleanliness, though the staff was quick to try and address them when I let them know. I think the property is just a bit worn out and needs some updating. Unfortunately, the walls are quite thin so we had a hard time falling asleep due to noise late at night from another room and of the hotel which I didn't anticipate since we were off of the main street. The complimentary coffee was nice and the staff were very nice. Overall it was ok, but expensive for what it was.

It was poor condition of the stairs going up to our room on the 3rd floor. The elevator goes only to the 2 nd floor, then we have to drag our bags to our room on the tricky stairs.
The location was perfect, walking distance to all eateries.

Hotel needs a good power wash on all levels. Encountered many spiderwebs and the ground floor needs a freshen up. The step down to use the restroom in our room is dangerous and should be made into a ramp. The overall lighting in the room was not sufficient and could use some three-way bulbs in the light fixtures. Bedspread was both stained and torn. Breakfast was average with very few if any gluten-free options. For those who don't need gluten-free a Belgian waffle maker would be suggested. Also in a town that specializes in pastries there was not one offering of pastries on the breakfast selection.
Upon arriving at the hotel it would be helpful for the check-in process to include local things to do and local restaurant recommendations as it was challenging to find gluten-free options anywhere in town, for those not gluten-free a good burger place, pizza place, sandwich place etc. would've been helpful.

The room smelled very musty and the toilet didn’t work properly. It flushed but the paper stayed and didn’t go out. The breakfast was good but the overall stay in Solvang was a waste of time since stores close by 4:30 and the majority aren’t even open Monday and Tuesday

Quaint hotel that will benefit after the planned renovation is completed. I was in room 303. It was immaculately clean but shows signs of age. The lobby is very nice, with modern Scandinavian decor and a lovely fireplace. Overall, I would rate my experience satisfactory.

The overall property was very cute but the rooms that were outside of the cottage were ok.

There was construction that the booking didn't warn us about. When we got there there was a line of ants in the room so we had to switch rooms.

The breakfast was mediocre.

The staff however was super nice and the location was great! The exterior in front of the cottages were super cute.

We did not have the breakfast, but everything else about our stay was above expectations.
This is a well priced property but is maintained to a better level. We have stayed a few times in the past 15 years and the experience has improved each time we are here.
It is in a great spot, too. Close to everything downtown but quieter being off the main streets.
We will definitely come back!

This is an amazing property!! Love the tranquility of the surroundings. The fact that its within walking distance of everything, is a BIG PLUS!! The room was PERFECT!! Loved the two story, own privacy thing going on in Cottage #5. Jacuzzi was amazing!! All the stars I could see, while having a glass of wine, while relaxing. We had coffee on the balcony right off the kitchen. The area was so quite at night...slept like a baby!! Room was AWESOME!! 2 bathrooms was just what we needed. Plenty of space and the price was so reasonable for what you got here. And we talked to everyone there, staff and guests....everyone was so kind!!! BEST TRIP EVER!!!! Highly recommend this perfectly usually property!! Thank you!!!

This property is located is a good area, but it wasn’t worth what we paid in terms of the aesthetic of our room. Very early this morning someone in another room took a shower and the nose was so incredibly loud that it woke us up. The stay wasn’t the worse and we would stay again.

We stayed at the Wine Valley Inn for three nights, having selected the property based on its 5-star ratings. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet those expectations.
Although the receptionist was initially helpful and agreed that our room would be serviced daily by 1:00 PM, this arrangement was not honored. On the first day, while certain items were attended to, the room was not thoroughly cleaned. The second day was particularly disappointing; we returned to an unserviced room and had to contact the front desk to resolve the matter.
In response, an employee named Javi was sent to our room, but he only provided fresh towels. When we requested full service, he informed us that his 'boss told him not to' clean or make the bed. We were forced to contact the desk a second time to have the service completed correctly. Despite my wife expressing our serious concerns regarding these repeated lapses, the front desk staff failed to offer a satisfactory solution.

Great location—everything is just steps away, and you’re right in the heart of downtown Solvang within minutes by foot.

The hotel itself is older, but very well maintained and impressively clean. I didn’t find any dust or buildup, even when checking window frames, light fixtures, and vents in my room. The room didn’t have that “old hotel” smell either. It was fresh and well kept.

Since it is an older building, the walls are thin. You can hear hallway noise, conversations, cars outside, and even early morning activity like garbage pickup. Honestly, it wasn’t bothersome. It was more amusing than anything.

Breakfast was okay, but with so many great restaurants just a short walk away, we didn’t expect to rely on the hotel for breakfast/meals.

I booked through Expedia. But I was charged a $25 per night “holding fee” at check-in, which was a bit confusing. However, it was fully refunded at checkout. Still, the concept wasn’t very clear. Hopefully they avoid going down the path of adding unnecessary fees like some larger tourist destinations.

Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

The first room they put us in was dirty and not what I had booked or paid for. There was a blood stain on the fitted sheet. There were two dead spiders on the window shades. The bathroom sink had no cabinet and was on the outside of the bathroom. The shower had no pressure at all. The staff were very helpful and polite. They did communicate quickly. But I had to demand to be moved and they wanted me to then be out of the room from 11-4 but I insisted that didn't happen. This was supposed to be a romantic Anniversary trip turned into engagement but having to fight for the room I booked became stressful. They didn't offer us anything extra the customer service needs to be better. I am very disappointed with this stay. The place needs some work for sure the stairs are also breaking. But the breakfast and staff were great though.

We stayed here on our honeymoon and were less than impressed. I picked this property because I thought it looked truly magical and it should’ve been a really special stay. But we were definitely very much underwhelmed. For starters they put us on the third floor, and the elevator only goes to the second floor. This meant navigating all of our luggage on narrow staircases. Even the elevator had a ramp of about 8 inches that you had to push the cart up to try to get your luggage to the second floor.

They’re in Solvang and Solvang is all about the pastries, but not one could be found on their breakfast buffet. This was a huge disappointment as the bakeries were one of the absolute best things about Solvang and yet the breakfast buffet head, standard boring hotel, breakfast fair not showcasing any of them.

When I checked in I told them that we had trouble parking and had parked a ways away on the street. They said that sounds great and didn’t bother to tell us there was a lot in back, That was actually much more convenient. Overall, the staff didn’t seem happy to be there or really care about their experience very much. Of all the hotels that we stayed at on our honeymoon this one was a thumbs down for us.

The layout of our room was nice for the two of us.
There's a mini fridge with beverages, along with snacks, all available for purchase. Free water bottles. Free breakfast in breakfast area, gym on premises as well. The room has an extra blanket and pillow. The bed was comfortable enough, AC, and fan are in working condition. Outlets on both sides of the bed. Water pressure in the sink and shower are good. The towels feel nice and are made of a thicker material, didn't feel cheap. The restroom itself is on the smaller side.
The garden on the premises is really nice. Many areas to sit and relax. Designated smoking areas. Walkable area around the hotel, walking distance to downtown, literally minutes away. One of the employees, I didn't catch his name, gave us fish food to feed the koi fish (Thank You!). Staff is friendly, quick, and helpful. Check-in and a Checkout was a breeze. Free parking but parking can be a hit or miss but still plenty of public parking lots right in the same space.

Our 3 day stay at the Inn was excellent. We stayed in a Loft room and as long as you don’t mind navigating going down the stairs at night if you need the bathroom, the Loft is great. The upstairs has a nice amount of space and a tv for bedtime watching. There’s ample light and plugins and usb on both sides of the king size bed. There’s a dresser and place to hang clothes. Also a fan which we didn’t need because the AC was very good even upstairs. We brought a couple of bathroom night lights to plug in and a stopper for bathroom door. The downstairs living room with pull out queen couch was small but comfortable with a large new LG tv. Also refrigerator and storage. No freezer in small refrigerator. Plenty of light coming in the doomer window and main windows. There are loft rooms facing front parking lot and back cottages. Facing front was not a problem as we heard very little noise only a tiny bit in morning when people were leaving or walking out and we are sensitive to noise so we would have noticed if any noise was bothersome. Good news about amenities and staff: 1. Breakfast by American hotel standards was very good with an excellent selection-eggs, bagels,toast, yogurt, cereal oatmeal, apples and bananas, good hot coffee. And we can judge because we’ve had incredible breakfasts in Europe and not so incredible.Rocio, the woman who manages the breakfast room is outstanding, she really cares about her guests having a great breakfast experience. The room also was spotless.

Great location. Friendly staff. Nice room, but it felt 'cold' and sterile with the laminate flooring. If you just need an overnight room this is your property. If looking for a cozier room - may want to find another. Breakfast was so-so, wasn't a 'fan' of the offerings - mostly breads, cereal, and fake eggs. Nice outdoor offerings with seating and 2 fire pits. Didn't get to partake of the wine tastings as we were there on the wrong days for the offering.
