Breakfast was sufficient to get you going for the day; no complaints.
I wish the AC in the fitness room worked and some accessories for the multifunction machine. Show drain was a bit slow, would eventually puddle.
Overall, the hotel felt homey and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Solvang’s Wine Valley Inn is THE perfect place to stay while enjoying this lovely part of California. The sweet little village town of Solvang & its Wednesday Farmers Market is all within walking distance, Los Olivos & San Ynez are a short drive away, the big blue lake is about 20 minutes drive. We stay in the Cottages. The freestanding ones are like little houses with a yard & hot tub. These are definitely preferable for privacy & quiet enjoyment. Separate living area, fireplace, kitchen, dining area. Plus pet friendly. Just perfect! Don’t miss Rainbow Spa for a fabulous massage… about 5 minutes up the street. The staff is friendly & accommodating.
It’s a beautiful hotel, reminiscent of a charming European town. Really nice all year round (plus central air/heat) but spectacular during the winter holiday. Come to Solvang & stay at Wine Valley Inn :-).

Well we paid in advance and arrived around 11pm for a business trip. They did save us a room and when we went to it we were disappointed. Bathroom was not clean, there was an apparent cleaning rag near the tub. Maybe someone was going to clean it but got distracted? There was a ring around the tub, grout was very dirty like it had not been cleaned in a long time. I informed the staff and they told me all the other rooms were rented and they could not switch rooms. They do offer to come and clean the bathroom personally. Attempted to. Lean bathtub, grout remained unclean in several places. We paid a lot more than this place is worth. Free breakfast was scrambled eggs that diced down so much you had to eat it with a spoon. Never had to eat an egg with a spoon before! There are many places where there is neglect of maintenance with dry rot seen on the stairs. I would attach photos but there is no option to do that. The manager did give us a bottle of wine to try and make it up to us. It didn’t really make up for it but we didn’t want to be rude and refuse their apology. We greeted several of the staff with “good morning” no one returned the salutation .
The town is quaint but many stores were closed during the week. Bakeries were not as good as I would have thought. Apple turnovers at the bakery close to this hotel were not very tasty despite being told they were fresh out of the oven. Pay $20 or so more and try another place to find a good bed and sleep.

Wine Valley Inn was a wonderful place to stay with our dogs! The hotel was dog friendly, very clean, and the grounds were well kept. Our room was a decent size, and we had a comfortable bed and great AC to keep us nice and cool while we were relaxing after a long day of walking around Solvang. The hotel is in a great location, just off the \"main drag\" of Solvang, but close to everything and walking distance to restaurants, shops, etc. The daily breakfast was simple, but good, and there were great amenities including a fitness center and spa on location (we didn't use either, but saw them there). If we ever find ourselves in Solvang again we would absolutely consider staying here again!

This is a sweet little hotel full of Danish charm. I didn't make use of the breakfast (I'm a sleeper) but I did enjoy a free glass of wine during one of their happy hour nights (a delicious semi-local Chardonnay, and I don't usually like Chardonnay). The check-in process was easy (if the space was small and busy), the front desk team helpful and kind, and the parking options fantastic (though Solvang generally has good, free local parking.

I think the place was recently remodeled as one end of the rear parking lot was full of retired wardrobes, dressers, and nightstands. I had a Tower queen room on the third floor, which meant I could take an elevator to the 2nd floor, and then walk up the rest of the way (tricky if you have any mobility issues), or walk up the 3 flights. The room itself was super fun, with all the quirks and angles of Danish architecture. The furnishings were really clean and modern, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The bathroom tile and fixtures were really nice, but the shower only had the one relatively light setting (not my preference, but fine).

The only complaints I have are: the blinds don't block any light, so bring an eye mask. And, the room's door doesn't fit totally seamlessly, so I had a few buggy friends join me on the first evening as a result.

Otherwise, great location and gets the job done. I might aim for the Landsby next time if I want luxury.

The Wine Valley Inn has a great location in Solvang and it is close to everything. However the rooms were a bit outdated and the walls are super thin so you can hear everything around you. We were facing a parking lot for our stay which isn't the best. I feel the website photos make the place look more higher end then the place actually is. With that said, it is very comfortable and the staff is accomodating and they serve wine each day between 6-7pm at night and have some cozy places to sit outside around several fireplaces. They also provide a exercise room which many hotels do not. I would stay here again but I would like to not be facing a parking lot.

We loved this place! We have visited Solvang many times and we’ve stayed in various hotels - this is one of my favorite so far. Its location is unbeatable, the staff are very friendly and they are dog friendly. The breakfast is great considering it’s included. We’d happily stay here again!

The room feels updated and clean. The large light needs a good clean. The refrigerator was beeping and had to unplug I liked the reasonable cost of the wine available in the room with wine glasses and opener. All in all we enjoyed our experience. Next time I would choose a room on the top floor or a cottage. They look extra charming.

The property is clean, but really old. Stairs are cracking and has loose cement pieces. Our room was awkward the floor seemed uneven, there were random bumps. It was an ok experience, the sink in bathroom smelled like sewer.

We stayed at the Wine Valley Inn last year and enjoyed it very much. Our room was large, with a large walk in shower and a little patio. The breakfast was generous and highlighted by wonderful Danish parties. No Danish this year, apparently too expensive. Breakfast was spartan.
This year, we had a small room facing the parking lot, where, twice, someone’s car alarm went off. The bathroom was small, the only refrigerator in the room was the honor bar with little room for anything else. The worst part was the people in the unit above us must have been washing clothes or something in the bathtub, because the water would turn on for a minute or two and, unlike when showering, go full blast,sounding like a jet engine. This went on for over an hour until well after 10 pm. On two minutes, off maybe five minutes. There is clearly some problem with the plumbing to be so loud and no insulation between ceilings. It was a truly miserable night. Solvang is a delightful place, but we won’t stay at Wine Valley Inn again.

I understand people my age arent always that respectful but I feel like you should never judge a book by its cover. Front Desk forget to issue the room keys so we had to go back, she stated she was very busy had a lot going on. The Clock Bell Tower went off 24 times at 11:15pm be warned (woke us up it was so overwhelming loud) this is unacceptable why is it set to go off at that time and 24 times in a row?? We have stayed here several times in the past and never have we heard the bell tower at night. Customer with dog next room over also barking late at night , hopefully they can figure this out :(

We’ve stayed there twice now, enjoying it both times. We probably wouldn’t have enjoyed the rooms with the courtyard views as there would be people literally walking around you on all sides, right next to your windows, but we thankfully had outside facing rooms. Seems like all rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are charming. Excellent location! Right next to outstanding restaurants and off the main busy road!

Older property refreshed with new furniture and decor. Bathroom is still old. Every time people above us used shower/toilet it sounded like water was rushing in our unit. Needs better insulation for sure. Was fine for one night in Solvang but felt quite basic. I hear the cottages are nicer than the rooms.

The room was not at all reflective of the photos online which was disappointing as that's part of the reason I booked this over another property. There were issues with cleanliness, though the staff was quick to try and address them when I let them know. I think the property is just a bit worn out and needs some updating. Unfortunately, the walls are quite thin so we had a hard time falling asleep due to noise late at night from another room and of the hotel which I didn't anticipate since we were off of the main street. The complimentary coffee was nice and the staff were very nice. Overall it was ok, but expensive for what it was.

It was poor condition of the stairs going up to our room on the 3rd floor. The elevator goes only to the 2 nd floor, then we have to drag our bags to our room on the tricky stairs.

Hotel needs a good power wash on all levels. Encountered many spiderwebs and the ground floor needs a freshen up. The step down to use the restroom in our room is dangerous and should be made into a ramp. The overall lighting in the room was not sufficient and could use some three-way bulbs in the light fixtures. Bedspread was both stained and torn. Breakfast was average with very few if any gluten-free options. For those who don't need gluten-free a Belgian waffle maker would be suggested. Also in a town that specializes in pastries there was not one offering of pastries on the breakfast selection.
Upon arriving at the hotel it would be helpful for the check-in process to include local things to do and local restaurant recommendations as it was challenging to find gluten-free options anywhere in town, for those not gluten-free a good burger place, pizza place, sandwich place etc. would've been helpful.

The room smelled very musty and the toilet didn’t work properly. It flushed but the paper stayed and didn’t go out. The breakfast was good but the overall stay in Solvang was a waste of time since stores close by 4:30 and the majority aren’t even open Monday and Tuesday

Quaint hotel that will benefit after the planned renovation is completed. I was in room 303. It was immaculately clean but shows signs of age. The lobby is very nice, with modern Scandinavian decor and a lovely fireplace. Overall, I would rate my experience satisfactory.

The overall property was very cute but the rooms that were outside of the cottage were ok.

There was construction that the booking didn't warn us about. When we got there there was a line of ants in the room so we had to switch rooms.

The breakfast was mediocre.

The staff however was super nice and the location was great! The exterior in front of the cottages were super cute.

We did not have the breakfast, but everything else about our stay was above expectations.
This is a well priced property but is maintained to a better level. We have stayed a few times in the past 15 years and the experience has improved each time we are here.
It is in a great spot, too. Close to everything downtown but quieter being off the main streets.
We will definitely come back!

This is an amazing property!! Love the tranquility of the surroundings. The fact that its within walking distance of everything, is a BIG PLUS!! The room was PERFECT!! Loved the two story, own privacy thing going on in Cottage #5. Jacuzzi was amazing!! All the stars I could see, while having a glass of wine, while relaxing. We had coffee on the balcony right off the kitchen. The area was so quite at night...slept like a baby!! Room was AWESOME!! 2 bathrooms was just what we needed. Plenty of space and the price was so reasonable for what you got here. And we talked to everyone there, staff and guests....everyone was so kind!!! BEST TRIP EVER!!!! Highly recommend this perfectly usually property!! Thank you!!!
