Good option for visiting lovely Beaune

Very pleasant stay just outside the perimeter of Beaune old town. Free street parking available around corner, about 100m away. Breakfast just ok; bacon was quite undercooked for our taste. Quiet room at back with no noise from other rooms or the elevator which was right next to us. Pleasant staff.

Rooms and some communal areas renovated recently but some areas (annex hallways) still due. Comfortable and quiet bedroom with very good towels and toiletries. Parking underground was decent sized and safe. Very convenient for Beaune town centre. Most staff very friendly and helpful.

Whilst the room was fine, at Euro 19 per person, the breakfast was expensive . This was also true of parking in the hotel underground garage at 15 Euros as there were no available spaces on the main road on which the hotel is situated. Neither was dining available on the night we stayed - a Tuesday, nor was there any French restaurants open nearby, so had to resort to dining in an Indian restaurant, which was excellent. But not expected in Beaune ! I certainly wouldn't stay in this hotel again.

Clean comfortable hotel with friendly staff. I’d recommend the “Superior Double Room” as a large spacious room with comfy bed, although slightly odd toilet/bathroom arrangement (toilet on its own so you have to walk back round the corner into the bathroom to wash your hands).

We had a nice stay in Henry II hotel. Location is very good, the room was big and the beds comfortable. The interiors are a bit dated but clean and fine. The parking is quite a challenge due to the very small size of the places. Good value for the price overall.
Breakfast is too expensive though but the old town with some cafes is very close.

Worth the money and great hotel

Centrally located to town, 1 km from train station, so it's convenient to walk to hotel from station as its very difficult to get a taxi and no e-hailing services.

Room is big and very lux. Bathroom is big and bathtub with jacuzzi.

Nice hotel in wine country!

We only stayed one night in Beaune, France, but would have liked to stay longer! The Henri II hotel is very nice, however, the mattress collapsed on the ends when you sat on it. We thought we might wake up with a sore back, but we didn’t. The A/C was adequate, but it isn’t that hot in September. Breakfast was $15 pp and well worth the money! Delicious food and great coffee. We bought wine and their Henri II wine glasses for the road trip. We would love to come back to Beaune and would definitely stay here again.

Not a 4 Star Hotel.

The best thing about this hotel was the staff. In fact, were it not for the kind man at the front desk who works the night shift, and kindly changed my room when I arrived at midnight, I would have called hotels.com and asked for a refund. This is not a 4 star hotel. At all. Some of the rooms are redone and some of the rooms look like a 2 star hotel at best. That was my original room. It made motel 6 look like the St. Regis. But, outside of the rooms (whether redone or not) the hallways are dirty and scuffed up, the carpet in the elevator is disgusting. I mean, truly disgusting. And busloads of Chinese tourists from mediocre tour agencies (2 buses parked outside each night) arrive every night. They are very loud and let the children run wild. The hotel is devoid of any charm. Had it not been for the man at the front desk who kindly helped me and upgraded me to a redone room, I would have sat down to cry. My 4 star hotel in Paris (also booked on hotels.com) is actually a 4 star hotel and the difference is astonishing.

Very nice hotel. Great position just outside the city walls means a short walk to the centre of Beaune and all it's restaurants and wine shops! Comfortable, nice and helpful service and good breakfast. A very pleasant terrace to relax and drink wine on. I enjoyed my stay.

The hotel and room were fine. Especially the hotel location, just on the edge of the town centre. I didn’t expect help with luggage etc, but the main problem was checkout. About 15 American tourists were ahead of me in the queue. I was there for an hour, and only needed to pay for taxes and parking. Only one staff person was working, but the hotel must have known this would happen.

The particular room we stayed in did not look like the pictures we had - much smaller. The bed and decor were nice but the bathroom is in need of updating. The shower is very small and the shower head kept falling off. The breakfast is quite expensive (15E) and we were originally told we needed to park in a garage that was 12E per night but when we asked about free street parking, there is free parking all around the city.

Great location....odd set up

I had read other reviews and saw the annex had poor internet connections. I told the clerk I needed internet and she said it was working so agreed to a room in the annex. The main hotel was full of Chinese tourists so thought it would be quieter in the back. It was but the internet did not work. The room was spacious and quiet but if you need internet beware. We loved that we could walk to everything in the old village from our location. It also had secured underground parking which was great but cost 10 Euros.

A nice location with a very helpful staff just outside the inner city wall of Beaune. It's less than 10 minutes from the center of town. The hotel provides very good accommodations. The breakfast, as is the case with much of the food pricing in France, is a bit steep at 12 euros per person.

NO INTERNET ON ROOMS, NOT A FOUR STAR HOTEL

This hotel advertised free internet on the rooms. Well, the room I was in, did not receive the signal. We complained several times, and every time we were told they would fix it and call us back, but neither it was fixed, nor did they call back. Rooms are small and outdated, toiletries are cheap, and the restaurant was way overpriced. We had to go to bed hungry because it was late and we did not want to pay for overpriced food. Next day, not even an apology for the internet situation.

Receptionist was very welcoming, answering lots of our questions.
We found the hotel very well placed for our visit into Beaune. A short walk through picturesque streets.
The room was not the largest we have ever had, but the furnishing and decor looked recentlly redone to a high standard.
The room was next to the lifts, but was one of the quietest rooms we have ever had. Plus, the aircon actually cooled the room down, so we had a comfortable night at below 20c.
We made use of the carpark and at €10 a day, felt that was a good rate for a secure underground parking space.

Pleasant Hotel close to centre of Beune

We chose this Hotel particularly because it advertised that we could get room service meals 24hrs and we anticipated we might be late arriving if we had travel delays. We did, but were disappointed to find no room service menu. There was also a large coach party staying and there was lots of noise from quite early the next morning especially from chairs scraping on the breakfast room floor immediately below us. The room was quite compact and basic for a superior room A pity because it looked a pleasant Hotel in an excellent situation. Perhaps we were just unlucky to coincide with a large coach party, but were left feeling we didn't get much more than if we had stayed in a cheaper "chain" hotel.

A very nice hotel

Only stayed here for one night but would have been happy to stay for a week. We had a standard room which was very nice, with a great shower. The location was excellent, just minutes away from the old town and secure car parking which although extra, was worth it as we had a car load of stuff. The staff were nice, the bed was comfortable and overall we were pleased we chose this hotel. One downside was the breakfast which was a little expensive and we gave it a miss, but there was tea making facilities in the room which is not always seen in French hotels. Worth considering, and we would happily stay again.

Hotel was as advertised. Clean modern bath typical size room. Service was good but not outstanding. One issue I had was no on site parking. Had the park in the city lot a block away and was lucky to catch someone leaving. Dragged the luggage a block to the hotel. The hotel is located on a Main Street which has ample unloading zone in front if you are going in the right direction. If not you have find a place to turn around which a bit of a problem because of one way streets. It is a short walk to the center of the old part of town. All in all a good place to hang your hat while in Beaune.

Great hotel located just outside the old town core. Easy access to the attractions in downtown Beaune. No car needed if you just want to visit the town's center. Great rates for a very comfortable stay. Hotel staff was very accommodating and pleasant.

Excellent reception staff and service was very helpful at all hours. The lobby, bar and reception area are comfortable and well appointed. The room, advertised as "large" turned out to be barely above "cramped". But the bed was comfortable, and the furniture in good shape. Closet space was ample. The bath and shower were also good, but ventilation could have been better. After finding that that breakfast and parking were extra, the value proposition dropped somewhat. Breakfast was quite good, however.

A find for the festival!

The staff on the desk provided a warm welcome and then answered questions very well and happily. When my wife had an anaccident in the street a young woman on the desk was quick with a first aid kit and good advice. A state of the art breakfast room served up a satisfactory petit déjeuner. . The hotel is the closest to the site of the screenings at the festival of films policiers in Beaune that we were attending.

Our only complaint with the housekeeping was that we found a half-used bottle of wine in the back of a cupboard shelf (Burgundy, of course). There would have been no complaint had the bottle been full and unopened!!

Staff very helpful and friendly. Willing to book and provide advise for booking dinner. Room however was main road facing, very small and very hot. We had to sleep with the window open which meant all the traffic noise flooded into the room. Aircon did not seem to work only the heating.
The hotel is a good stop over options, minutes walk from the beautiful town centre and has secure basement parking.

Good but......

Excellent service on check-in and departure. Nice bar if a little gloomy and reasonable prices. The room was cramped, the TV didn't work and the parking spaces were very, very narrow! Ordinary breakfast and no in-house restaurant.

But the location in Beaune itself was SUPERB and we would stay there again for the price..

Only tiny niggle is the on-going works on the terrace, very tiny niggle though because they were no disruption and the exterior will be even nicer when all is complete. Staying at this hotel was like stepping back into time. Walking into the room was like walking into my Grandma's house in the 1960's. The spreads on the bed were so faded and old that we were totally creeped out. The room was quite noisy being the the busy street.

We were totally happy with our stay at the Henry II in Beaune, France. Our room was small but very nice, with a flat screen TV, little refrigerator, and a spotless, modern bathroon. The hotel staff were all helpful and very pleasant. There is a neat bar with an outdoor lounge area with a fountain that would be a great place to enjoy a drink in nice weather. The hotel even has a parking garage, although the parking places are very small. The hotel's location is ideal, a block from one of the entrances to the historic, walled section of town; we were back and forth several times a day. We would definitely recomment this hotel and would stay there again.

Small rooms, but adequate for a short stay

I stayed at this hotel for one night with my wife. The staff was very curteous and helpful. They all spoke fluent English. As others have mentioned the rooms are very small and efficient. If you are staying for more than 2 nights you may want to consider another hotel. I was unable to connect to the WIFI internet with my NETbook. There is a MAC computer in the lobby available for use too - I was unable to get onto the internet with their computer either. I did not reserve a parking spot in the garage, but luckily there was parking on the street in front of the hotel. If you are travelling during high season you may want to reserve a parking spot. The continental breakfast was not included with the expedia booking. It was an extra 9Euros per person. There was also an additional charge for local taxes.

A éviter ! Pas digne d’un 4 étoiles

Très décevant et définitivement pas digne d’un 4 étoiles. Il faut savoir que les chambres ne sont pas toutes rénovées notamment celles qui sont « standards ». Nous avons eu la « chance » de tomber sur l’une d’elle ! Déco usée et désuète, moquette sale et malodorante, salle de douche au sol mal nettoyé, join de douche moisie, porte découpée pour poignée de porte, etc. … évidemment tout cela n’était pas indiqué lors de la réservation, la réceptionniste m’explique que certaines sont rénovées comme sur les photos du site mais pas toutes… mais le prix lui est le même !!!! Évidemment, plus de chambres rénovées de disponibles pour changer… alors on me dit qu’il faut 80€ de plus pour en avoir une supérieure (rénovée celle ci). Publicité mensongère ! Et concernant le sol sale, on nous a même pas proposé de venir nettoyer, il a fallu que l’on réclame des tapis de bain supplémentaires avec lesquels nous avons nous mêmes nettoyé ! Inadmissible !!! 2 points positifs néanmoins, la situation idéale pour aller au centre et le petit-déjeuner, bien que cher (24€/pers.), très bon, encore heureux à ce prix ! Au global nous aurions eu une meilleure prestation dans une chaîne hôtelière pour moins cher … À éviter !

Nous avons été très déçus par notre séjour dans cet établissement, qui ne tient clairement pas ses promesses. Le confort et le style de la chambre "supérieure" qui nous a été attribuée étaient bien loin des photos alléchantes présentées lors de la réservation. Rien à voir avec le style contemporain et soigné que l'on nous faisait espérer : la chambre était banale, sans charme, ni modernité, et ne justifie en rien le tarif appliqué.
Seul le bar, récemment rénové avec goût, semble avoir bénéficié d’un coup de jeune — mais cela donne surtout l'impression d’un leurre marketing destiné à masquer l’aspect vieillot du reste de l’hôtel. Une vraie déconnexion entre l’image en ligne et la réalité sur place.

Photos pas représentatives

Le personnel était super et le petit dej aussi. Par contre la chambre ne correspondait pas trop aux photos mises en avant sur l’application (visiblement certaines chambres ont été rénovées mais pas celle qu’in a eu). Pas très grave pour nous car une seule nuit mais bon je trouve ça un peu moyen quand même de la part de l’hôtel, et un peu déceptif

Petit hôtel tout à fait sympathique et plutôt bien situé. Personnel au top .

Le seul mini bémol serait peut-être le prix du garage, 20€ la nuit mais j’ai pu laisser ma voiture au chaud jusqu’à 14:00 je n’ai donc vraiment pas à me plaindre
24€ le petit déjeuner, si vous êtes un gros mangeur, ce doit être facile à « rentabiliser » mais la qualité des produits locaux reste dingue
