Lovely property with generous and well appointed rooms. Great service and nice extras like turndown, and little treats left in the room were a nice touch. Breakfast was decent and the bar is great! Gym very small but usable. Parking available for a steep fee, but is super convenient. Price point at the high end, but fair value overall.

Things to look out for:
WiFi not great outside the lobby area. And the property advertises itself as having AC, but heating only outside of summer so you will need the window open (it can be quite loud outside) if you like it cool and not stuffy to sleep - this is really the only negative point, but if you’re advertising AC as a feature and charging top whack then you shouldn’t penny pinch (it’s not regulations as they will tell you if you press the point!).

We loved our stay here in Beaune! The hotel really went above and beyond to make our stay special, including nightly tea and chocolates. The town on Beaune is beautiful and very easy to walk to from the hotel. There are plenty of dining options and some cute stores in the town, and it’s a great base to explore the Burgundy region. I’d happily stay again!

CREAM OF THE CROP

This place is a dream! Our second stay and it wont be our last. This year we were here on our anniversary and when we walked into our room the bed had a rose rose pedals and a covered dish or macarons while balloons floated above it. How special that was?! The staff was amazing and very attentive. We loved Maxime and Matthew who took such good care of not just us but all their guests. A must stay 10 out of 10!

Jean Yves was amazing! He did practically everything around the hotel. He was so helpful and always with a smile! The spa was very disappointing. We were told we could use the hot tub but when we got there, they said it wasn’t available and we needed an appt. Our massages were also disappointing.

The property is very nice, well located and in all physical aspects acceptable and comfortable. I would stay here again. However, we had difficulty & miscommunication with the staff regarding reservations and other basic issues (not related to language as my wife is French speaking). It became such an issue that I finally canceled our table in the hotel restaurant and booked elsewhere because it seemed service was an overall concern (restaurant reservations not confirmed by the concierge, femme de ménage entering the room without knocking, etc).

Charged twice

They charged us at check out despite full booking was paid beforehand. This was frustrating and had to go through admin to get it sorted. It kind of ruined the experience.

Very good.

Good but not worth the price.

The hotel is nice but absolutely not worth the price. The gardens looked like the nicest part of the hotel but they were for the bar and restaurant - it didn’t appear that you could sit and read a book or relax there. The rooms were very ‘corporate’ and a bit old fashioned.

So lovely and utterly French

There are so many things to love about this place
- The proximity to town center
- Adorable design (the terrace, the hotel lobby)
- Breakfast spread
- Helpful concierge
- Daily supply of water

Truly had a great stay

Couple of things that could have been better
- A fitness center or spa services
- Advance warning/notice of additional costs (eg the breakfast - which we didnt know was extra - ended up being quite a bit during our week long stay)

Le Cèdre gets high marks

Le Cèdre is a 40 room, luxury hotel surrounded by gardens and fountains and is about a 7 minute walk to Beaune's center. Each of the rooms are individually decorated in a polished, french-country style and the staff was professional, attentive and polite. Each evening, there was automatic \"turn down\" service and, at checkout, the bellhop was extra helpful carrying our bags from our room all the way to the trunk of the taxi. The hotel is situated next door to a 19th c mansion that houses a Michelin star restaurant, and our 7 course meal there could simply be added to our room number. The hotel is wonderfully situated to enjoy the town of Beaune or the Côte d'Or wine region. Would be happy to visit again.

Beautiful hotel. But...

The hotel was amazing and the front desk staff very friendly and helpful. But, money that was not out in plain view was stolen from our room when we went out for the day. When we informed the front desk they told us they would speak to the housekeeping staff. And we heard nothing more from the hotel. No follow up with us.

Very disappointing.

Great Hotel,. We stayed in the spring period and unfortunately the weather did not allow taking advantage of the superb garden. Th eloung with bar and fire place was just about perfect. The onlt drawbacjk was that the diner, which was perfect, was served in a numbver of smaller rooms which lacked atmosphere.

Hidden Gem!!

Comfortable. Spacious room. Excellent service. Bar never closes. Great value. Far from the noisy streets but yet close to it all. The landscaping around the courtyard is extremely beautiful and meticulously taken cared of. I was really impressed by the service and attentive personnel. Be back again.

Nice little hotel in the heart of Burgundy

Pros: Extremely courteous and helpful staff. Very unique decor and excellent location.

Cons: bed was very hot to sleep in due to it being memory foam. Internet was very slow.

With the excellent service staff they have, all the hotel needs is a tech upgrade and new beds.

Not feeling like a VIP

Upon arrival were told car couldn't be parked in garage because guests who were arriving next day needed it..very weird. Given a dreadful room to begin with but was changed to one with tiled floor. Bathroom area needs upgrade. Would have liked tour of space. We cancelled dinner bc thought dining room was breakfast area. Then we tried to get back reservation when figured out there was a real restaurant and no reservations available. Elevator broken. Staff unfriendly about assistance with luggage though had use of service elevator. We loaded car ourselves. Location is great.

Very nice, only let down by the restaurant staff

This is a very nice hotel, but difficult to justify the star rating - it is short of facilities, but I emphasise very nice. Great position for a short walk into town. The only let down was the restaurant staff who just didn't make you want to come again - and since we ate there the first night of three it was the only night - which was there loss and our gain as there are plenty of great restaurants in Beaune.

Mouldy shower

The hotel was easy to find. There was no one to guide us as to where to leave our car and it is not obvious. We ended up finding street parking.

Check in was brief with very little information.

Our room did not look anything like the photos. It was small with almost no personality. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had a very slippery small shower with cracked tiles and mould in the grout.

Later at night when I asked to make a reservation for a restaurant in town it was done quickly by the evening staff.

Expect a 3-4 star hotel of staying here.

Beaune Again!

A wonderful hotel. The perfect place to reunite with my first love from 50 years ago, Talking for hours by the crackling fire in the lounge, sipping Champagne and reflecting on what might have been.

Hostellerie Le Cèdre, Beaune, France.

A pleasant hotel within easy reach of 'old Beaune'. However, we chose this particular hotel because of its Michelin starred restaurant. This turned out to be a big disappointment--very overpriced, and very indifferent food. I certainly would not recommend the restaurant.

A great find

Met by lovely hotel staff, all of whom spoke perfect English. The log fire was roaring in the library; lovely and cosy. Underground secure car park was an added bonus. Room very comfortable.

Restaurant good with an immense wine list - we had a fantastic bottle of Burgundy from a local vineyard. Food very fancy; the bread the best we have ever tasted. Order you food well done unless you want it raw (including the fish)!

Comfortable stay in Beaune

10 minutes walk from centre of Beaune. Well decorated old manor house. Comfortable rooms. Wifi bit annoying as one has to repeated log in to use. No tea/coffee facilities in room. They have a nice restaurant but it's not cheap and for that price one can eat better in Beaune or the surrounding areas, other restaurants with Michelin stars.

Reception areas of the hotel very impressive, a little disappointed with the room which was a superior double room - very spacious but lacking any character - clean and functional but internal doors chipped and cheap looking - very different to the reception and bar.

We loved Beaune and Le Cedre! The hotel is very elegant and comfortable. Great supportive staff - we felt very welcomed. We had a fabulous dinner - not inexpensive by any stretch - but a gastronomic experience. The local town and surrounds are wonderful!

A beautiful hotel with lovely staff to assist with dinner reservations, visit recommendations and a great aperitif or digestif!

The rooms are lovely and comfortable. There is space for your bags and to relax. The bathroom is large with plenty of space for two to get ready sumultaneously.
