Great \"stop off\" for me and family on way back to UK from skiing trip. Very close to motorway so very easy to find. Had family room (for 4). Room was decent size, beds comfy. Breakfast was very good and included in room price so made it a good value stay. Would definitely recommend.

Nice property if you have a car

The hotel is clean and the staff is really friendly. Great breakfast. But, don’t stay here if you don’t have transportation. The hotel is about 1.5 miles from town/train station. Beaune has very few taxis and often none are available.

About 2km from the city center. I like walking so for me this was a plus. The hotel is generally nice. I am very sensitive to machine/engine sound and even though it is very faint I wasn't able to sleep well due to the background sound of the central cooling system (there is a centralized system outside the building). Otherwise a good hotel.

Great value stay overall

Enjoyed our stay at Novotel. Friendly staff, great clean and comfortable facilities. The only negatives were that that the shower gel dispenser in the shower did not work, and the Wine Please restaurant is over priced for what you receive for dinner and breakfast. The gym, pool, games and quiet room were a nice touch.

Great option in Beaune!

This hotel is located 1 mile from the Beaune city center, and it was an easy walk. The accommodation was excellent, friendly and helpful staff. No frills, but very solid overall, and the restaurant was very good.

For one night stay, they’ve taken 300 euro as a security deposit, which seems very high to me, comparing with other similar price hotels and most of them don’t ask for security deposit.

Mediocre stay

There was zero soundproofing in the hotel, we could hear doors slamming from about 8pm onwards and again starting early at 5-6am. I really had a bad sleep at this hotel. The toilet is in a separate room from the bath/shower (which is fine and happens a lot in French hotels I've been in), however there was no sink in this room - you had to go all the way from the toilet into the bathroom to use the sink, this was some real poor planning...
The restaurant was alright but not the best one hotel I've eaten at, although service was extremely quick from ordering the main course but slower to order desert/get the bill

The biggest benefit from this hotel was the breakfast, it was amazing - especially the waffles which was a surprise bonus as most hotel buffets don't have this.

We arrived at 9:30 in the evening after a very long drive from st. Tropez. The restaurant closing at 10 and we were starving so went straight there. I asked 4 team members to take my order but was passed along every time saying 'oh my colleague will take the order'. This was very annoying as they were setting up for breakfast - putting out Bon Maman jam was more important than our order. So we ordered after a 15 min wait. The order was wrong. I expressed my disappointment and I was meet with a blank stare and no expression. There were 6 team members working so being ignored when you try and ask them or being passed along 4 times is awful. We were asking the supervisor not the bus boy.

Other than that it was a clean stop off

Clean upscale hotel

I have stayed at many Novotel hotels and you never really know what you are going to get as far as size of the room and cleanliness (even though they are all listed as 4star). This one just South of Beaune had a very spacious Junior Suite and was very clean. Although we did not use it, the pool and kid play area looked nice. You are in wine country so they, of course, had a great little wine bar with reasonably priced glasses and bottles of local Bourgogne.
The breakfast buffet was ok but have had better at other Novotels...this one was quite busy but we liked the option to sit outside and eat.
My only reproach was the location. It was about 3.5km from downtown...too far to walk to the action. There are a lot of restaurants in walking distance, but we wanted to go downtown and if you ware just driving through and do not want to see Beaune, it would be an ideal place. Hope that helps

Good hotel under renovations

This was our second time in the hotel for a stopover during road trips. The hotel in general is great but this time we had an issue with a strong chemical smell in our room probably coming from installation of new carpet or other renovation recently performed.

Great hotel but don’t eat there

Great comfort , great service , good breakfast . However the restaurant is TERRIBLE ! Dinner was hardly eatable, falafel over raw vegetables, no dressing or sauce whatsoever . Ceviche with traces of fish and ersatz of lemon juice , pad Thai chicken that didn’t taste like it. Luckily, there are good restaurants at walking distance.

Convenient stopover

This appears to be quite a new building and it's a very convenient A6 stopover as it's less than a mile from the turnoff 24.1. There is a Cote Grill restaurant nearby (not that good) within walking distance as well as others as it is in a suburban area with a few hotels around. The hotel was only offering buffet dinner at €29. The hotel room was modern and very clean. As with other Novotels, all rooms seem to be doubles and ours had a twin sofa bed. This is not ideal when you want 3 proper separate beds (general problem in France though). The large double has a decent mattress. The pool is a bit small and was absolutely packed with kids when we visited. The hotel is apparently used by coach parties as we saw coaches of Chinese and Italian visitors. The wi-fi works well. The hotel is a simple 5 min drive to centre of Beaune. We had no problem with early check-in.

Lovely quiet position. Large room with view of pool area. A good drive from the centre of town. Perfect evening so we decided to have a drink on the terrace horrified to see adults drinking (out of glass) inside the fenced pool area - more horrified to watch children open the pool safety gate - but decided to enjoy our drinks - there were a few people with dogs having dinner on the terrace, as well as families with small children - there was an incident when 1 dog flew at another - it was horrifying particularly as there were small children there - DOGS should be on leads.
We went inside for dinner to escape the dogs - but alas we had another fluffy friend eating inside - as an Australian I don’t think we will ever get use to dining with dogs - the service at dinner was dreadful - the maître was doing his best to put out spot fires everywhere but it was hopeless - we left after waiting 25 minutes for coffee. The food was average at best.
The reception staff were great particularly helping me when I had to make an urgent phone call.
Even considering it’s goid bits I would not return.

We were travelling around school holidays and the staff were very patient with all the children running around the foyer - they really cater well to children! The rooms were fine and the food OK, but they don't start serving food until 7pm which is too late for younger children.

OK but could use some help!

When we were looking into booking rooms for a large travel group (12 adults), we found most places were either too expensive, or did not have sufficient rooms. From that perspective, this was a good choice.
It is a little outside the main town, but close by there is a mall where we had dinner at a fantastic restaurant. Also for trips to Santenay, Chagny, Meursault, this was quite conveniently located.

Here are some issues we found with this hotel:

1) The rooms don't have US style power outlets. In other places we stayed (Switzerland on this trip - many other hotels on other trips to Europe) most of the hotels offered plug sockets that worked. Here there was NO such help. The hotel were selling a couple of plugs, but these were very expensive for such a short temporary need! Please keep a few plug outlets for your guests. Most people return them and these can be reused.

2) The front desk had no way to convert currency. If you are so far away from other resources (cash exchanges, bank ATMs) you surely must be able to provide some currency conversion for your guests? This is the first hotel where we found the inability to exchange cash.

3) The bathroom design is really poor! While it is a good idea to separate the toilet from the rest of the bathroom (sink and shower stall), the entrance to the shower and sink area is right from next to one of the beds. Which clever person thought of this design?

4) The closet space was extremely limited.

Great hotel, close to Beaune with parking

Great location. Just 5 mins from Beaune and just off the highway. Hotel staff were very helpful. Audrey at the front desk was excellent. Great restaurant - with very good service, and delicious food. The escargot is a must try. There is a wonderful patisserie (Emelia) just 3 mins walk from the hotel.

Despite saying there was free wifi - you could not get it in the room. We had room 444 - furthest from reception. Apparently when speaking to reception some rooms get it - we didnt but our friends did who were closer to reception. Very disappointing. It should be in all rooms. Why not add a booster to those rooms?

Nice hotel on edge of Beaune.

The Novotel is a modern, clean hotel located at the edge of Beaune. It is ideally situated for trips into the town center ( a 5 minute drive or 20 min walk) or day trips around Burgundy. Rooms were good sized and clean. The parking lot is large and free so this hotel is agood choice if you are driving. Breakfast is available, but somewhat pricey at €16.50. We found several nice patisseries in town. There is a large market in Beaune on Saturday with easy parking in town if you arrive early. Overall, we recommend this hotel and will use it again when we next travel to Beaune.

On our way to the South and a perfect stopover. Very easy to find . Disappointed in the food .My omelette was fine but my husbands meal looked disgusting . He said it tasted ok but the presentation was poor. We didn't bother with breakfast .

Exceeded expectations

A very clean well appointed hotel, that exceeded expectations. We normal stay at 4 & 5 * hotels but Beaune was busy, so we opted for this out of convenience. A good choice and most convenient although not worried by the Autoroute. The food was not 'haute cuisine' but nevertheless very good. We will stay again !

Good stopover hotel to & from the south of France

Generally good, used the pool, disappointed with the room on this stay, had stayed here previously but think must have been on a different floor as the room this time was more expensive but smaller and more basic for a family of four.

Nice hotel. Close to Autoroute

Great place to stop after long journey. We stayed there for one night on the way to the south of France and on the way back home. Made the journey times easier and most of all the children loved it.

Very convenient for motorway

Stayed at the Novotel Beaune for an overnight stop. A very clean, modern hotel, with a nice swimming pool and dining areas. The only negative was the lack of hot water at 7am. We were told that this was probably due to the fact that the hotel was full, with a lot of groups leaving early.
