The room itself was lovely. Very clean , lovely bed linen, comfortable bed. The family rooms were however right on the street and so were noisy until the bars closed and all the other guests had banged the door as they came in. It felt like some rooms were finished and others were still under construction so felt a bit like navigating a building site to get to our room. Breakfast was lovely .

I was not aware that hotel was in the process of complete renovation which impacted considerably for our stay. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. The Expedia website stated parking but did not state the need for pre booking a space and there was a charge

When we got to the hotel we found it was not open. It had been closed for renovation. We follow the sign to another hotel where we got our accommodation which was not up to the standard we had expected from the hotel I had originally booked. It looks like the hotel Has been closed for quite a while and there are nowhere near finished the renovation.

We stayed in the apartment which was perfect for us. It was my wife and 2 teenage kids so the space was really appreciated. It's a 3 level room with a loft on the top floor, living room/kitchen on the middle floor (with big pull out couch/bed) and private bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. Ground floor opened up into a shared patio. The Hotel is located very close to the town so perfect location. Will stay there again when we go back!

This hotel is located a short walk from the city center full of shopping, dining, and bars. There is onsite parking, and during our stay, we didn't see or hear anyone else, so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. There is also a great bakery right across the street to get a coffee and pastry, or ask the friendly owner to make a sandwich for your lunch while touring local wineries.

Had a one night stay on a travel stop over at this hotel. Breakfast was good and the rooms were spacious and ACs worked well. Bathrooms were nicely renovated. Beds comfortable. Wifi was not working well in our rooms but could access in the lobby. Easy walking to shopping, dining and a bit of sight seeing.

It started out somewhat difficultly, because the front staff who answers phones did not explain very well what was meant by "drive up the street until you get to the pole." It would have been helpful if they said, "when you drive up the street, you will come to a large round pole in the middle of the street that blocks your way; get to the pole and then call us."

Otherwise, we enjoyed our room, which was quite large, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a great location. Visitors need to know, however, that as with many hotels around France, the parking is about a five minute walk away from the hotel.

Lovely family friendly hotel, best breakfast!

Our second visit, always a lovely comfortable stay. Secure parking is important to us as we are en-route to the alps with skis and a full car. Be sure to request ahead of time as there is limited insight parking - but plenty more in the square around the corner.
Family rooms are lovely, the mezzanine was a huge hit with our kids. Might not be for smaller children though. Very clean large bathrooms with thick soft towels. Breakfast is our favourite and the buffet has everything you could dream of. Staff are always welcoming and friendly. Just a short 3 min walk into main square of town, great location.

We were surprised about the actual room size (king bed below two twin size in loft) compared to the picture. We (2 adults and 2 kids) had a tough time moving around in the room. It was very small. An important point when we picked the hotel was the available parking offered by the hotel (and clearly advertised on the website). We were on our way home and needed an overnight stop. Our car was PACKED completely and didn’t want to park it somewhere in the city. There was no way to unload it because we didn’t want to do it while the car was on the street in the rain (No parking spaces free). The hotel told us that there was no space available at the hotel (full) and we should just drive around until we found something. All the parking lots were full and street parking as well. After a LONG search we got lucky and found parking. When we asked the manager the next day he told us we have to reserve space at the hotel because it is limited. I wish I would have read this info on the website because I could have easily done so… or just stay at another hotel. The wifi, unfortunately, wasn’t working! A bummer when you have important things to take care of.

We stayed in the Annex/ Apartment No.11 so didn’t experience the main hotel. The apartment is lovely old home and nicely furnished, with lots of character. It it well located on Place Madeleine with bars and restaurants a minute’s walk away, with the Hospices 5 minutes walk. Downsides were (1) second bedroom is on top floor, with sitting room and kitchen/dining area on first floor, and main bedroom, shower room and loo on ground floor. This isn’t good for families with young children. (2) the cooker/ hob wasn’t working, which we were planning to use and negates one of the reasons we opted for the apartment.

The air conditioning did not work and our room was on top floor in the eaves, the hotel is on a busy road and close to a night club so too noisey to leave window open at night. There was no lift unfortunately for older people with luggage. Also the beams in roof/ceiling were a hazard.

The hotel is just a few minutes walk into the town where there is a great choice of restaurants and bars. We arrived on the day the music festival was being held and the town had a lovely friendly vibe to it.
The bedroom was a generous size with a small fridge and A/C , the secure parking to the rear of the hotel was worth the small extra price to pay.

This is a lovely hotel in an extremely convenient location in Beaune. The hotel room was spotlessly clean with a comfy bed and good bathroom facilities. The man at reception was very helpful, pleasant and spoke exceptionally good English. There's a car park at the back of the hotel but there happened to be a space right outside the front where we unloaded our baggage. My husband asked about parking and was told he could keep the car in the parking spot directly outside for as long as he wanted - very convenient! The breakfast room was quite small and very busy but apparently it was a French national holiday weekend. We had a nice breakfast. The lounge for public use was very luxurious but unfortunately we were only able to stay at the hotel for one night en route home so didn't use it. We were absolutely amazed at how many restaurants there are in Beaune and every one was busy so there was plenty of choices to eat out. We'd definitely return to this hotel. It's a great stopover hotel enroute from Provence to the Channel.

Great value hotel in Beaune

Third time staying in this hotel. Rooms range from very simple to high-end. Clientele ranges from wine tourists to families stopping off during a longer journey. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast option has a great deal of choice and is worth the cost. Location is fantastic. Close to the city center with the convenience of a grocery store (Casino) a 2 min. walk. The one drawback for me this stay was the lousy internet service. It was the worst I have experienced in all of my travels.

The hotel is located in a great location, just outside the city wall. Very convenient for a day or two visiting Beaune. The hotel is very clean and staff is reasonably friendly. If I have to make one small criticism is about the WiFi. Works well early in the morning or very late at night, but if you need WiFi access to do any work, you may get frustrated with the slowness during the day.

Hotel de la Paix was a fabulous experience. We were in France for two weeks and this hotel and staff were our favorite. We felt we were treated more like family than visitors. Everything was so clean and organized. All staff members were respectful and helpful. I believe this hotel is underrated with only three stars. The breakfast went above and beyond. The towels,pillows and beds were very nice. Above all we can not say enough about the staff and how comfortable they made our stay. Although the location to City Center was several blocks it was by no means a deterrent,easy walk to train station and shopping. This accommodation was the favorite of our trip.

Not in the old town, but very easy and safe walk to the old town. This seemed much quieter than the old town anyway, and the restaurants immediately around the hotel seemed better than the old town restaurants. Staff was super helpful arranging dinner reservations. Our room was in great condition and was actually quite large. The AC handled the 93 degree day with ease. No lift but wide circular staircase was easy to navigate with luggage and front desk was eager to help. Breakfast didn't impress us enough to warrant buying, but only bakeries open early; other breakfast restaurant options don't exist until at least 9am.

Huff and puff up the stairs

Can't put my finger on it, but I just didn't feel like the front desk staff were particularly interested in welcoming us. Not mean, just seemed to have other things more important to them! No elevator with winding stairs. This makes it kind of dangerous to take heavy suit cases up and down. We had the family room which consisted of 2 single beds (why not just make it a king and get rid of that split!) and a double in the loft. Again, dangerous to a suit case up there so our daughter just left it down and came up and down when she needed something.

Superb accomodation for myself, daughter and two young grand children. The balcony was more like a terrace with table and chairs and room for a pony. Amazing apartment with everything you needed and more. Excellent breakfast. From the outside, you would never realise what treasure was in store.

Generally the hotel and service were good, except for ridiculously pricey breakfasts. Our room was in the Annex - not in the main body of the hotel and the rooms there are a little inferior to those in the main building. On arrival we found our room to be quite dark, with high small windows, making the room unacceptable. We were moved to a far better, same priced, room - but if this had nott been available we would have been very unhappy with the room we were allocated.

This hotel was really nice. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in the family room (2 adults and two 3 year old children plus baby) which was on 2 levels. The room was big enough for our travel cot and the children slept upstairs. Location good as just a few minutes walk from the centre of Beaune. Overall we liked the hotel and had a comfortable stay. Only down side was having to pay for hotel parking at 8 euros a day. Also steep steps up to 2nd level of room, which was fine but need to take extra care with the children.

Excellent location but confirm your reservation

I have stayed at Hotel de la Paix a couple times, several days at a time (3 different rooms), and the best thing about it is the location. It's easy walking distance to the Beaune train station, yet close to the best parts of historic Centre Ville. Nothing fancy but it has most of the usual conveniences, free wifi, etc. Some minuses include limited reception hours 7 am to 9 pm, but you can usually work around that. Rooms facing the street or close to the lobby are noisier. This last trip, they did not have my Expedia reservation which I had booked 6 weeks earlier, and told me they would have to move me for one night to a hotel across the street - incredibly inconvenient given the amount of packing I'd have to do. At the last minute, they were able to accomodate me, but I assume it was because of a cancellation. fyi, I usually re-confirm reservations but the expedia.com itinerary said specifically "no need to confirm" so I didn't. Hotel de la Paix has rooms in an "annex" which I tried for the first time; it's around the corner on the Plaza Madeleine which is a parking lot now. I actually liked it, rooms are above an Auberge in an older building with high ceilings, tall windows and it was surprisingly very quiet. No elevator though. Basically, for the location, Hotel de la Paix is a great value. Just re-confirm the reservation and be aware of the location of rooms. ps, they also have their own small courtyard parking lot.

Great little local hotel. easy reach of the town, good parking. Get a room at the back though.my room overlooked the street and the road noise woke me at 5.30am! moped riders and their exhausts!

We didn't realise our booking was for the annexe part of the hotel which is round the corner above a restaurant. Our room was horrible, a family room which was 2 double beds crammed into a dark dingy room. The whole place smelt of old food and we didn't want to stay there so asked the girl on reception if there was another room in the main hotel. She showed us a better room but I still found it a bit dark and nasty. The receptionist was not happy or helpful at all and although we arranged with her to book us a parking space in the hotel car park when we arrived there was no space but she wasnt really bothered. We couldn't wait to leave this hotel the next day and be on our way, we only stopped off for a break between driving from Paris to Geneva but we wished we hadn't. Beaune is quite a pleasant little old town but pick a different hotel. Also, roadworks right outside the front of the hotel and very noisy at night.

Good hotel but terrible Internet connection

This hotel is above average for a three star hotel in terms of room quality. The free Internet is what let us down. In the evening it was intermittent and when it was brought to the attention of the front desk they said it was because the hotel was full and it was raining. By morning, the Internet connection was completely down. The front desk just acted like it was working because their terminal was working, he did not even check if the wireless routers were showing an active Internet signal. This experience was across several devices all of which worked perfectly at the next hotel. If you want a nice hotel with a short walk to the main attractions of Beaune, this is a good hotel. If you want or need Internet, stay somewhere else.

Not what we hoped for.

We were disappointed. We booked from the Expedia website and were told that our booking was confirmed for the two star annexe. When we arrived it transpired that the annexe was in fact a bunch of rooms above a restaurant round the corner. The rooms were decidedly retro; we had to change rooms and pay more money because the 140cm bed just looked too small after getting up at 4.45 am to catch the Shuttle. The worst part was being woken up at 7.30 am by workmen with a jack-hammer installing a water meter in the wall just below our bedroom. We complained about this when we checked out and the hotel manager offered us free coffee and croissants, which was a nice gesture but not adequate compensation for the let-down.

We stayed at the annex which was a little way from the main hotel, down the street and around the corner, access thru a restaurant. There was a key to access the building when the restaurant was not open. Staff permitted luggage to be held at hotel until check in time on our arrival day. Room nicely appointed and centrally located to tourism bureau and information. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, unable to comment upon same. Room was basically a place to sleep and more than adequate. WIFI requires password info from the front desk, not given when check in was made but easily obtained on a second trip to the front desk in the main hotel. Key drop for an early departure available, close to train station.

Nice hotel in the lovely city of Beaune

Updated room and bath were very nice. Also flat screen TV and free internet. Good breakfast. Just a few blocks from the train station (turn left and walk along the street by the tracks for the shortest walk) We booked asking for 2 twins and upon arrival found that our reservation was just a double bed in the older section. We paid the additional money to upgrade to an updated room with a queen bed and a twin. For the additional money would have considered some of the hotels in the city center.

This hotel is just a block from the Beaune city gates. It also offers secured parking in the courtyard. Breakfast was nice but for a fee.

Ik moet toch even een klacht indienen over Alfred Hotels Beaune La Madeleine.

Sinds ons verblijf daar ligt de lat voor hotels namelijk onrealistisch hoog.

Het ontbijt is zó goed dat andere hotels nu standaard teleurstellen.

Het personeel is zó vriendelijk dat je bijna denkt dat ze je persoonlijk kennen.

De kamers zijn stijlvol, comfortabel en gewoon… af. Geen gedoe, geen minpunten.

Beveiligde parking? Ja. Gewoon geregeld. Geen stress.

Locatie in Beaune? Perfect.

Kortom: gevaarlijk hotel. Je raakt verwend.
Wij komen terug. (Ondanks de “klacht”.)

Alfredo is a super hotel with very comfortable beds and very good and clean rooms. Friendly people and a amazing breakfast buffet and a complementary wine and cheese huur in the wine celler. I definitely recommend it!

Fantastiskt hotell

Vår första reaktion när vi gick in genom dörren var lite skeptisk. Ingången såg lite sliten ut men väl där inne öppnade sig en fantastisk känsla. Vi har passerat många olika boenden längs våra europaresor men detta pittoreska nyrenoverade boende slår det mesta. Fantastik frukostbuffé, sängen var magisk, precis som man önskar. Personalen var supertrevlig. På återseende 🙏

Excellent accueil malgré notre arrivée tardive.
Hôtel ancien qui a du cachet.
Literie excellente.
Petit déjeuner très copieux. Service parfait.
Parking dans la cour de l'hôtel mais qu'il faut réserver.
