Check In staff were very nice Room clean and spacious if a little dated. Hotel lobby was full of kids running around in the evening, many wearing pyjamas! Breakfast staff were helpful and efficient, but quality of breakfast food was disappointing and coffee machine was empty. Overall great staff but hotel could do better.

Everything was good however the water in the cooler and the robes were not mentioned in any correspondence so it was difficult to know if they were included or as an extra.
So some information would have been nice in relation to those items even it at check in they gave you that infotmation.

The room was clean and a good size. Staff engagement was excellent. Breakfast was very good and the restaurant was clean and well attended.
There had obviously been some sort of leak on our floor, as there were ceiling tiles missing and buckets placed around the hallways. The level smelt musty, so I'm guessing it was still drying. The room was a connecting one and there was very little soundproofing. We didn't get back in till late and realised that the bed had a piece of hardboard underneath the mattress that ran from the foot of the bed up to just around half way. Consequently, when you lay down, your head and shoulders were lower than the rest of your body. To be fair, we didn't raise it with staff, as it was so late. I slept ok, but my partner struggled to sleep on it.

We were informed at the desk on arrival that the pool was out of order. This was a big blow for us as we had factored in some family time in the pool and we chose the hotel for this facility. I was shocked to have been informed about this prior to the stay or offered any alternative/compensation. Also the service in the restaurant at the evening meal was terrible. We went without any waiting staff at one point for about 20/30 minutes when we were keen to get another drink and order dessert. We ate out on the second night because of this.

NO laundry facilities as stated in hotel description! We had to find a laundromat and take a taxi to and from it. They will send out your laundry for you at a HUGE cost. Do not stay here if you’re expecting to do your laundry after 10 days of travel like we were. Very disappointed in false advertising,
We were moved to 3 different rooms due to heating issues and lighting problems. Staff was very nice but moving was annoying!
Restaurant was good. Buffet breakfast had a lot of variety (extra charge). Dining room was open until 9pm.

We stayed here recently and overall had a decent experience. On the plus side, the air conditioning worked well, which was a relief, and the location is really convenient with loads of parking. The on-site bar was a nice bonus, and while the room wasn’t anything fancy, it was clean enough.

That said, the place does feel quite dated — the room decor definitely had a bit of a 70s vibe. The bathrooms seem more modern but are quite small, and I could see them being tricky if you had mobility issues. The shower design wasn’t great either and tended to soak the floor unless you were careful. The biggest disappointment, though, was the breakfast. For the price, it just wasn’t worth it.

All in all, fine for a short stay if you value location and convenience, but a few things let it down.

The room and staff were great. Whilst the pool is 15m long a third is up to knee hight. This is a playing pool more than a swimming pool. I had chosen the hotel as it had a swimming pool hence was disappointed.

We usually stop here on our way to to visit family in Aberdeenshire. Always a pleasure, the staff are brilliant and the hotel is clean and tidy.

A special thanks for the housekeeping team who found a soft toy my son had left behind and kept for our return the following week.

Hotel event created a very poor experience

Unfortunately there was a wedding or something similar taking place… The music at the function was billowing throughout the hotel (the base) we were one of several complaints and whilst the manager asked the DJ to turn the music down it made little difference. We ended up cancelling our planed dinner and retreated to our room with a pizza not the planned evening we had… very disappointed

Good location for our needs. Electric charging points were available and most seemed to be working from what I could see - easy to set-up and use too. Rooms were a good size and the bathroom amenities were very good (shower-gel/shampoo/etc.). Breakfast was good value. Decent pint of Guinness served at the bar (I was only having one but treated myself to a second before bed!).

Amazing service

We only had a short stay after flying back into the country in the early hours but the location was fantastic for the airport, the rooms were very clean and it was a wonderful quiet spot.
The real mark of excellence though was the brilliant and friendly staff. They were just genuinely great, friendly people and it made all the difference. The complimentary drinks when we were leaving was just the icing on the cake and a lift for a very tired family facing a six hour drive home.
Thank you so much for the amazing service, I would happily recommend to anyone.

An excellent hotel. Our visit was marred by some other guests in an adjoining room who were noisy and disruptive and one who was obviously very drunk. However following a complaint to the reception the hotel sorted out the problem quickly, effectively and satisfactorily. They are also refunding some of our charges.

We were not able to use the indoor pool as they introduced a rule of booking the pool for 30 minutes at \"Health Centre Desk\". There was no staff available to take the bookings and when became available there was no booking left for the pool through out the 3 days of our stay. Breakfast time was horrible, long queues, waiting for ages and miss management. The manager was quite dismissive of everything and was confrontational when complained. Terrible experience. Never again!

The was an incident the ruined my trip where two parents started shouting aggressively at each other the pool. And scared my autistic son so I had to leave. I told the hostess about it and he didn't seem to care at all. He stated these sort of things happen all the time. So parents please be aware. I also booked a room in advance with a mini fridge and didn't get a room with the fridge. It was disappointing and frustrating.

Lovely modern and clean hotel outside the centre of Newcastle but conveniently just off the A1. Much cheaper than city centre hotels and free secure parking. Lovely smell in the reception and helpful staff. The room was spacious and clean wit 2 very comfortable king beds, tea/coffee making, bath and toiletries. Our room looked out over countryside so even better. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

Nothing special and a bit overpriced. The photos give a very positive impression that’s not reality ( I felt)
Noisy check in and later with groups of kids at very high volume - not sure if there was a competition locally or …..?
Bed and pillows not comfortable for me but I’m particular - Travelodge on way south more to my bed needs.

Flush on toilet kept sticking during the night so annoying

Basically I would not return.

Hotel was good quality. Very clean rooms, everything we needed and very comfortable. Bar area very modern, relaxed and enjoyable. Enjoyed the pool. Breakfast buffet very plentiful, tasty and hot. All the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Only niggle was the price of meals in the restaurant. The food was nice enough but the menu options were basic and we felt overpriced for what you got.

Enjoyed a 3 night stay. Quiet area but short drive to lots of lovely places. Breakfast had a good choice. Like a lot of buffets the food could have been hotter. We managed to use the pool and hot tub on 2 occasions, you just have to keep checking for a quiet time. The pool area around the hot tub has some signs of slight mould. Jack who served in the bar and restaurant was lovely, he really couldn’t do enough for you and was constantly checking with guests if they needed anything. Malcom less so when asked if there were any chef specials available instead of apologising for something advertised not being available, I was told they were far too busy to be bothering with Chef specials.Bed comfortable, room a nice size with a good shower room. Busy hotel and would stay again if we were in the area.

The room was very quiet in relation to road noise - couldn’t hear any. However, as is common with most chain hotels, you could hear other guests’ comings and goings.

The bed was super comfortable.

The shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Though a word of caution regarding the shower over the bath. It is a big climb into the shower/bath and whilst there are “stability” handles in the shower, this may not be suitable for people who may be unsteady on their feet.

Overall, comfortable and good value for money.

Brief stopover to break a long drive. Conveniently located just off the A1, quiet (although check for events) and clean. Nice bathroom, comfortable bed and happy not to have breakfast included as I needed to leave early. WiFi was not good and I ended up using data.
