This is quite an old Campanile, which hasn't been refurbished in many years. The walls (woodchip) could do with a decent clean.The rooms show signs of smoke stains too.

The lady was nice and that’s it. Our room was number 8, I can’t believe that Expedia has a 3 star and is not even a 1 star.
The room smelled like wet dog and there were mold in the wall and bathtub. Told the guy in charge and he said sorry.
This is not a hotel, it’s a motel for animals not humans. We are traveling all over Europe and this was the worst I have seen yet.
Do not go there all the ratings are fake, and lies.
I know those people did not stay at this hotel. Please don’t risk it

ice hotel for an overnight on the way to Dieppe.

The hotel rooms are a bit tired in terms of decor (woodchip or Artex on walls and ceilings), but the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was fine. It was a good place to stop en route for Dieppe. We had an evening meal and breakfast at the restaurant and really enjoyed the food.
We travelled with our elderly dog, who was very ill by the time we got there. I would have preferred a ground floor room, as the exterior concrete spiral staircase was tricky to manage with her. I didn’t like to ask for a ground floor room when we arrived,
The staff were pleasant and helpful.
We are a couple travelling with an adult son and daughter, so appreciated the twin room arrangement.

Got logged in quickly. Menu all in French, almost none of which I understand. Room was cool and heat-pump put out almost no warm air no matter the setting. Brought long johns which I DID wear. Only tourist information found was a Rouen map I happened to see in restaurant and picked up. Staff speaks enough English to be very helpful.

Don't eat there!!!

Hotel fine, served a purpose for an overnight stop. Restaurant awful, won't never eating there again on a further visit. Roast chicken microwaved to within an inch of its life and overall very poor food especially for the price. Plenty of others fiod outlets close by.

A good stop over hotel en route to the ferries. Lovely friendly staff, good value food , we ate both dinner and breakfast in their restaurant, room as you'd expect for a Campanile, clean, good beds and good overall condition. Only hiccup guests arriving through the night and wheeling suitcases along the veranda but otherwise quiet for such a busy location.

THE STAFF ARE THE KEY

So much , when visiting any hotel depends upon the welcome and attention you get from the staff. We encountered two both young women and both superb . The lady on reception could not have been nicer and more helpful , a real gem . Engaging and pleasant , friendly and interested without being invasive . Our waitress in the evening was also lovely . A thoroughly lovely experience , the hotel was fine ,( pillows were lumpy and hard ), this a minor problem in the scheme of things . Campanile hotels are a part of a large group and you know what to expect the difference with this one was the staff , and what a difference that makes . A little effort transforms the experience . Well done and thank you.

A reasonable hotel in a location just north of the city. Even though the new Bordeaux to Tours motorway works are close by we were not held up at all. Many fast food and restaurants within a short drive.

One night on the way home

This hotel is in the middle of a trading estate. It is quiet, no night traffic, very clean and ideal for a one night stop off. We were heading for Calais.
The food in the restaurant was good value and although not 'hot cooking' perfectly OK for a simple supper and the wine was good.
Carrefour is just across the way and there are several restaurants near by.

The staff were helpful. We nearly got involved in a Weight Watchers session but fortunately managed to escape before they signed us up.
An ideal place to stop and have a good nights sleep, pick up your supermarket shopping before heading off on the motorway which is just nearby.

It is very good value for money.
If you cannot manage stairs you will need to tell them when you book.

Calais Stop Over

Our SatNav got us to Barentin no trouble, however, it did not direct us to the hotel. Suggest literature mentions close proximity to the Carrefour Superstore as an additional guide. Hotel facilities were clean, tidy and operational. Staff were very pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. We had dinner in the restaurant and found it to be very good quality and value for money, particularly the buffett sweet option. First class desserts of all descriptions, a treat indeed. Restaurant staff were delightful, just the right balance between informative guidance re: menu options and attentive enquiry that all was well. In summary, if you want a stop over on the way to/from Calais to/from the the west this facility, from our experience, will serve you well.

Reassuringly \"Campanille\"

We always use Campanille hotels when travelling through France. After a long, hot and slow journey the green sign was so welcoming. As always comfortable beds, endless hot water, very helpful reception staff and a surprisingly good glass of wine. Will we use Campanile again? Of course we will. Even though this particular hotel is somewhat dated, it was all immaculately clean and tidy - and a great magazine rack in reception.

Good overnight stop

This was an overnight stop on the way to Brittany. It is a typical Campanille with a warm welcome from the jovial host. Conveniently located and quiet surroundings. We didn't use the restaurant and we did have some trouble finding the place as it wasn't particularly well signposted.

Good hotel, but far from the town centre

The hotel itself was quaint and luxurious. The room was a decent size and the facilities were as good as could be expected. However, it was difficult to work the air conditioning and often woke up cold. The restaurant served delicious food at a reasonable price. There was also friendly staff constantly there to help. Nice dog too. However, it is about a 3 mile walk from the town centre to the hotel - uphill, across busy motorways (no pathway) and it is easy to get lost. But this isn't a problem if you have money for taxis or access to a vehicle, as there is also no bus service there. The maid came into our room early one morning, despite the \"Do Not Disturb\" sign, so beware of that. Wear clothes to bed!

Perfect for an overnight stop on your journey.

We stayed here on the way back from camping in the Vendee on our way to Calais. So after a tent it was a luxury to have a bathroom although there were 4 of us (2 children) in the room it felt pretty cramped. But it did the job, it was a stop over and had everything we needed, basic but functional. However the staff were super friendly and the restaurant was superb and looked newly decorated, had good meals for the kids. We stayed in a Novotel on the way out which was a nice start to the holiday, but this was literally for 12 hours, just somewhere to put our heads and for the money I would definitely recommend staying here, slightly outside the centre of town but easy to get back on that main road to Calais which was about 2 hours journey. Does the job.

Campanile Barentin (Rouen)

This is an 'upgraded' Campanile - they are all being done in 2012 I believe. Minor changes to decorating and fittings within the same room space plus upgraded restaurant fittings and menus which are pretty good for a simple but good meal. We use Campanile a lot and they are all the same which means relatively inexpensive, comfortable and easy late / early access. This one has a secure (locked) car park after midnight - sometimes useful - but as usual no other car park security. Our stay was as good as usual remembering you are not dealing with room service and a 4 star hotel.

I will return!

We have always stayed at Barentin on our way back to Britain. We find it convenient, friendly, clean and the restaurent has fed us well. The staff have been friendly and gracious with our attempts at French.

The Hotel is what you should expect from this type of accomodation. Nothing flashy but more than adequete. If you want room service it is not the hotel for you. Only downside for us, bathrooms have shower over bath which is not suitable for people with disabilities even in Disabled Room.

We shall go on using this hotel as the plusses for us outweighs the negatives.

Je ne comprends pas comment Expedia peut travailler avec de tels établissements. Pour 2 adultes et 1 enfant, il y avait seulement deux lits simples. La chambre était petite et sale. Quand j’ai demandé où était le 3ᵉ lit, ils ont sorti un lit supplémentaire de sous l’un des lits, à placer devant les toilettes pour dormir. L’endroit était plein de poussière et de toiles d’araignée, avec une couverture et un drap posés par terre. Je regrette mille fois d’y avoir séjourné. Plus jamais je ne chercherai d’hôtel sur Expedia. C’était une véritable déception. Je n’ai pas dormi de toute la nuit. Nous avons dû dormir à trois sur deux lits simples, en les collant l’un à l’autre par nécessité. Une saleté et une honte absolues. Expedia, pour moi, c’est fini. S’il vous plaît, avant de recommander des hôtels, assurez-vous qu’ils soient sûrs et conformes à leur description. Nous choisissons nos hébergements en vous faisant confiance.

85€ pour une chambre avec deux lits simples dont les lumières en tête de lit se déclenchent sans cesse vu que les interrupteurs sont derrières les oreillers. Côté sale de bain, vieillot comme le reste, les joints sont noircis. Ok pour ne pas être trop regardant quant à l’hébergement en déplacement professionnel mais on a aussi besoin d’un peu de confort lors de longues semaines passées sur la route.

Côté restaurant, un menu à 24€95 pour une salade de harengs, une tranche de jambon « braisé et sa sauce en poudre, (oui une seule tranche!) et des frites surgelées et une mousse au chocolat certainement en poudre également…

Le personnel en revanche est des plus agréable et le service est plutôt rapide.

le bon vieux Campanile : pas de problème majeur mais vieillot. Nécessité de rafraichir les chambres et aucun effort sur l'isolation, les économies d'énergie...Pas de sèche cheveux, pas de prise vers le lit...hors standard pour un 3 ètoiles en 2022.
Heureusement le personnel est très sympa !

Séjour avec forte chaleur, pas de climatisation. Le ventilateur en hauteur ne souffle pas du tout, aucun moyen d'aerer la chambre, c'est tres inconfortable. Le rideau de douche en tissu avec des trous, c'est pas très cool, et pas de tapis de douche dans la baignoire hyper glissante, j'ai failli tomber une fois ou deux. De plus les chambres sont très vieillotes, il s'agirait de rafraichir l'endroit qui a pris un vrai coup de vieux.

Rent och fräsch \"motell\", med undantag för badrummet som förvisso var rent, men där fanns gott om märken som gav svartmögelvibbar. Ute i ett industriområde, lättillgängligt från motorvägen. AC.

Helt OK frukost i en egen byggnad som dessutom agerade utmärkt restaurang kvällstid.

Finfin service, med en fantastisk villighet att kommunicera trots att engelskan hos delar av personalen var lika bristfällig som min franska är.

Chambre datant certainement des années 80, crêpi intégral, couleurs de l’ameublement marron beigeasse faux bois, chauffage non fonctionnel. Déprime assurée, bien dormi cependant (c’est pratique, on doit fermer les yeux). Pas du tout au standard des Campaniles contemporains (mais plus ou moins au même prix).

Étant en déplacement professionnel plusieurs fois par semaine dans toute la France, c'est vraiment la dernière fois que je met les pied dans un campanile!
En effet pour le même prix de nombreux autres hôtels sont d'un niveau très supérieur.
Les chambres ne sont pas isolées (impression de dormir avec le voisin ) et un investissement dans la déco et le matériel ne serai pas de trop , télé de la taille de mon PC,enfin rien de terrible pour le prix qui reste quand même élevé.

Seul bémol, pas de brosse à toilette et pas de pression dans la chasse d'eau... J'ai du prendre la poubelle en guise de seau pour mettre de l'eau et évacuer...

Une valeur sûre !

Jamais de surprise avec Campanile, tu sais à quoi t'attendre, c'est carré. D'autres hôtels ont vite fait de te tromper avec de belles photos sur internet. Campanile est pour moi le standard de qualité sur lequel tous les autres devraient s'aligner.

L'hôtel est très bien situé ; proche des grands axes et d'un immense centre commercial où l'on trouve littéralement tout ce que l'on peut imaginer. Le service est top. Le seul point noir est l'état général des chambres, qui ont plus que besoin de travaux de réhabilitation ! Chauffage, plomberie, équipements... Tout a besoin d'un sérieux coup de neuf.
