The staff was very friendly. The rooms are dated and could use some updating. Dirt was evident on the interior door and bathroom counters and other surfaces showed their age. Linens were clean. Overall, I'd stay here again. Especially for the price. Quality is on par with what you'd expect at this relative price point.

This hotel is historic (OLD). Cons: You get an old and dated room with a hard bed. Pros: It is clean, safe, conveniently located and extremely affordable! I've stayed here twice since my daughter has moved to the area. Its my go to hotel for sure!

It was a nice place overall, we booked a king size room but when they gave me they keys they didn't work. They then put me in a double queen room which honestly was probably better for the fact they only give you 3 pillows per bed even the kings so my wife and I actually got 3 a piece so that was nice. I loved the fact the rooms all have a old screen door and a bench outside of the room. The bathroom definitely could have used some improvements, my shower didn't have a shower rod it was in pieces in the window sill and the tile was all cracked up along the wall. The shower was hard to get hot water just right so it was either hot or luke warm water. It could have been cleaned better as well my wife went to open the "new soap" with her teeth and an old used bar fell out the other side. The room had a window unit AC so it was hard to keep the room a specific temperature. It was an overall pleasant experience given the issue we faced and my wife said she would definitely like to stay again.

Amazing, clean, quiet, older but updated and great location. I loved it! Pool was so clean and the pool chairs comfy and new and even had a rocking chair. Guy up front was funny and very helpful. I couldn’t believe the price and paid a lot more at other hotels along the way that were terrible. Will make this our go to motel while in Williamsburg from now on. Definitely a hidden gem.

The front desk staff who checked us in on June 1, 2026, was rude and pompous and did not make us feel welcomed. On the day we checked out (June 3) however, a different staff was at the front desk and he was very efficient, kind, and made us feel better about having stayed there.
We will choose another place in the area next time we visit Williamsburg.

We did not stay in the room, left after 20 min. The window had plywood around the air conditioning. Ceiling tiles were missing , black spots in the sheets. There was also a smell in the room. Very disappointed and if we could get a refund , that would be amazing. We could not sleep there.

On our way to Rodeway Inn, we experienced some car trouble and traffic causing a moderate delay in our arrival. When we finally arrived, our deskman had not only waited for us, but also seemed concerned about our travels and offered helpful solutions. I only had 2 small negatives: the bathroom floor was littered with dead gnats/mosquitos. Perhaps the window was left open. And even tho we were only able to be there for 8hrs, he charged me an additional fee for my daughter. Other than those, it served its purpose-a place to sleep on the way to our end destination.

The carpet was old, stained & brown. I kept my shoes on the whole time. The headboard & interior of door was stained. Road noise comes right through the window unit a/c that was screwed into the plywood back wall. Musty smell. Bathroom was clean & recaulked. Mattress was fine, linens old. Coffee only/sign said no breakfast as of 1-1-26. Pool “closed for season” on Memorial Day weekend. Friendly staff.

It had good reviews but I would never stay there again. It was listed as historic but it was outdated. Some of the outlets did not work. It had a window unit. You had to position yourself in the right way to get the tv to change channels.

Overall the room was clean; linens, towels were all fresh. The bed was super comfortable. Sean at the front desk was an absolute gem. Pleasant, courteous and full of information and tips on the surrounding area.

Breakfast was at a neighboring restaurant. Dont forget to pick up your 10% discount coupon at the front desk. Parking was ample and easy. Right in front of your room.

The only concern I had was a small amount of mold on the upper window trim in the bathroom. No venting in there, just a heat lamp.

I’d have no problem staying again. Very budget friendly and very walkable to Colonial Williamsburg and Voodoo Brewing.

We had a great stay here. Like the other reviews indicate, the property is rather outdated and the breakfast has been discontinued. There doesn't seem to be heat in the rooms, but they also don't say that they have heat in the listing, only AC, which was great for us. The staff was very nice and you really can't beat the price and location. The only time we used our car was to go to Yorktown. There is a breakfast place right beside the hotel and we walked to 2nd St Bistro down the road twice. It's a quick walk to Colonial Williamsburg as well. Would stay again, but not in cooler weather.

This hotel is a great value. The front desk was polite, pleasant, and efficient. The room was clean. The bed was nice, and the room was pleasantly large for an equivalent offering. The bathroom was a bit "long-in-the-tooth," as horse-traders used to say. The shower head was fixed and the pressure a bit low, and the tile was cracked in the bathroom. The towels were too thin and small, and they only supplied two, but I didn't ask for more. Parking was easy and right in front of the room, since this is designed as the 1950's concept of a motor-hotel, or motel. There did appear to be at least a few long-term residents, and it is necessary to close the curtains, because the motel is all on one floor with the window facing the public walkway. The pricing was excellent, and there were no hidden fees, like fake resort fees. The only addition was taxes.

cheap, clean hotel with a comfortable bed. This is exactly what you would expect and hope for at the price. Pool wasn't open yet but it looked nice. Staff is super nice, bed is comfy, room slightly bigger than usual, clean bathroom... literally same parking lot as a really good breakfast place. Really not sure what anyone would be unhappy with here, rooms did not smell like smoke or anything, people I saw walking around were not sketchy or anything, would definitely stay here again.

I really did not like this place. I was there for 3 nights, which was just too long for this grubby place. No maid service. The fixtures are falling apart and cracked. The room was freezing and no way to add heat. If you face 2nd street you'll hear traffic through the wall all night. One tiny garbage can. It's crap. If you can afford a better place, take it. It is cheap, but there are cheaper.

The property is fine for this level of hotel.. much of it was clean and well cared for and it did have a nice feel to it.

I think with a modest investment they could improve dramatically. For instance, the first three lights I turned on when I entered my room did not work. Secondly, there was a space heater in the room but the room got down to about 45° that night because it was 34° outside in the morning... I'm sure there was a way to turn on the heater but this was not discussed by the attendant. Lastly, the bed comforter needed to be replaced and had a cigarette burn hole in it. It looks to be 20 or 30 years old... A completely different style. But the place is not without its graces and it was a good price. I just think they need to improve their maintenance and refresh the comforter and make sure that they provide working lights and great instructions for managing the window, air conditioning and heating. Some people like me don't like to run heaters at night so an extra blanket or two would be nice and very inexpensive to provide.

Parking was great since it was directly in front of the room. I had originally booked a room that was bigger but this one worked out fine. The price was good, staff was very nice and room was clean. It was nice have a Pancake House to walk to next door. There was a coffee room with water and ice but nothing else and it didn't open till 7am. We get up sooner than that but we made due. Overall very nice place to stay.

The only heat in the room was a small tabletop space heater. This on a night that was going down to 17 degrees. I feel that the desk clerk should have made me aware of this before check-in.
He did say that the breakfast would be minimal - only cold cereal. When I went in in the morning even the cereals were empty. So, effectively, no breakfast.

The staff at the Inn was extremely pleasant, however that was the only thing I can say good about my experience. When we went into the room, I found dead roaches on the table and immediately checked the beds. Thankfully, there were no bugs in the bed. The room was absolutely FREEZING and the heater under the AC did not work. The entire room had to be "heated" by a small space heater, which it did not do. I called the front desk to ask for an additional heater because it was so very cold but was told that they didn't have anymore. My son and I had to sleep in sweatshirts and jackets to stay warm. We left first thing in the morning. Would not stay at this facility again.

Check in went well but when we got to our room the heat wasn't working. We were going to call the front desk but there was no phone in our room so we had to walk outside to go to the office. We were told that the phone broke a few weeks ago and they never got around to putting another one in. The front desk guy (I think his name was Jay) brought a space heater to our room which didn't do much - outside temp was 28 degrees. Later in the evening power in our room and many of the surrounding rooms went out for about an hour so any amount of heat we had was lost. Power went out again around 7:00 am and at that point we decided we would check out and get other accommodations. My husband went to the office and said we were going to cancel the next 2 nights which we had booked and asked if there was anything that could be done since the night we stayed was a disaster. The same guy from the night before got belligerent and said we were looking for a free night which was not the case. He then said in his words "You need to be out by 11:00. Not 11:10, Not 11:01, 11:00 or he would not authorize Expedia to refund our remaining 2 nights. Fortunately we were able to find another hotel which checked us in early and our trip was not ruined by this hotels run down facility and unprofessional staff member.

Williamsburg it fits right in. They did provide a space heater as this was the only means of heat. It worked ok. Breakfast should say coffee and a small muffin. We knew ahead and brought our own breakfast.

While I checked in, the building manager made fun of my face mask -- the mask was intended to protect others and myself from potentially fatal disease.

The room itself did not have working heat. The building manager came in and confirmed the heat wasn't working (in this room and also other rooms). He offered us a space heater but it didn't do a good job.

Also, the sheets looked like they might have bedbugs.

The building manager said some of the rooms still didn't have working phones after a storm several months ago. Even though this room's phone was working, this indicated possible other things wrong with the building/room.

Finally, some of the ceiling tiles were out of place, indicating possible other things wrong with the building/room.

We told the building manager we weren't satisfied, and he offered us a full refund. We then found another hotel and then checked out of this one shortly after checking in.

We then called Hotels.com to request a refund, and when Hotels.com called the building manager about this he approved a full refund. Hotels.com then told us we will receive a full refund.

I have never recommended a person not stay at a motel before, but unless the outside temperatures are mild - you will not be comfortable here. The room was unbelievably cold! Even with the space heater they gave us we had wear winter coats and hats inside the room. The bathroom was so cold we did not dare take a shower. This is not an unusual condition for this motel as the HVACs are inadequate for the rooms.

The best was out so they put little space heaters (1500W, I assume) in every room. The overnight low one might was 18F. The shower wasn't cold, but it wasn't hot either most times i used it. Iddly sometimes it was hot enough (but only on the hottest setting.)
No room service for a three night stay, but you can bring towels to the front desk to swap your dirty ones...

Just a few minutes from everything but well enough pff the beaten path so zero traffic noise, no trains, an older brick motor lodge-so quiet rooms

Walking distance to a pancake house next door and convenience store.

Limited hotwater (If you're alone-its enough for a shower)

Found out, you can not run the microwave white the window heater/AC is on or you trip a breaker and have to locate someone to turn it back on.

Remember that Pancake house I mentioned? You'll need it, The continental bfast here was horrible. White bread, cereal and those tiny mini muffins you buy for your kids' lunch...with four itty bitty ones in a bag: same thing here.

The fridge although working: didn't keep cool any of our food and had to be trashed the next day.

For an overnight for one or two persons: I'd do it again as it's about half price and its QUIET.

Wasn’t told until I arrived that the heat had went out. There was an air conditioner unit in the window for “heat”. I was offered a space heater if it was too cold. If I used the space heater I wasn’t allowed to use anything else. If I wanted to use the microwave or hair dryer I had to turn the a/c, heater off. Apparently this has been this way for some time. Was told to keep the bathroom door shut. When I had to go to the bathroom it was freezing cold in there. The room was clean. Not what I expected at all.

When my wife and I arrived on Nov. 27th the heater was barely blowing out hot air. We waited to see if the room would warm up overnight. Woke the next morning the rooom was freezing. I went to the front desk to inform them that our heat was not working, was told he would call maintenance. Went to lunch and shopping to kill time. Got back to the room at 2:30 pm, the heat was still not working. Went back to the front desk. I was told the heat couldn't be fix. I ask for a new room and was told he could give me a space heater. I told him I didn't want a space heater I wanted a new room. He then told me that I would have to wait for the manager to come at 7:00 pm. I said not going to wait that long. Then he ask me was I checking out? I told him yes. I ask would I get a refund? He said again, I would have to wait for rthe manager. I found another hotel to stay down the road.

Our room wasn't clean upon arrival. When we did receive it, the condition was horrible. There was pubic hair in the bathroom and teeth marks on the soap. No towels or shampoo was provided. There was marks on the sheets and the wall paper was peeling. There was no internal lock on the door and the room smelled of smoke. The corners of the room had not been vacuumed in a while and were covered in dirt.

Whenever I spoke to the clerk about this, they refused to help, saying I needed to go through the service I booked with and that they would not assist me. When I refused to take that answer, they took my keys back and refused to accommodate us. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Avoid this place like the plague.

The first room we were put in had a busted window only covered with cardboard which was not disclosed when we received keys. Secondly the manager had a nasty attitude when it came to us asking to switch rooms because of it. Next they gave room keys for our room to someone else even tho according to management their system would not allow that to happen. Someone walked into the room while we were there! Also the front lobby smelled like sewage that was not cleaned. Lack of breakfast even tho it was included as well as amenities lacking greatly.

The bed was very hard and sheets were bare minimum . I had to purchase my own blanket from a shop to make the stay more bearable. The staff was nice and the inn/motel was on the older side I liked some of the features like the private screen door and the skylight window in the bathroom .
