We drove 6.5 hours and paid for the room days in advance. Once, we arrived and checked in we were informed they had given my room away. I asked if he had a king and he stated he did but when given the keys, I was booked into a room with 2 double beds. I went to use the fridge and didn't realize it wasn't plugged in and when I had to move the shelf it was in to plug it in, I found 2 dead mice.

Very dirty. Room shelled like smoking. There was a fight outside and police came in the middle of the night first night. Second night a dog was barking next door all night. Felt unsafe. People hanging outside in the parking lot. Loud music.

Room smelled of smoke and air freshener. We requested non smoking but it didn’t seem to be a NS room. There were some holes in the ceiling and mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Overall I would not stay again or recommend the hotel. Told the front desk about the problem in the bathroom and he didn’t seemed concerned. I thought we would save a little money since we were getting in late and leaving first thing but overall it wasn’t worth the money saved.

DON'T STAY HERE!! GO ELSEWHERE!

First off, this building is so run down and is in desperate need of repair. I have stayed in other Super 8s and they never looked this bad!

I requested a non smoking room. However, it was clearly evident by the room smell that some people had smoked in there.

The pillows were flat, and the sheets/blankets needs replacing. When I pulled back the covers there were cigarette burns in the blankets and the sheets were scorched. Also I found hairs on the ceiling in the shower and the walls. Everything just nasty and sticky. I didn't even want to dry off using with their towels as I didn't trust their cleanliness. The bathroom air vents were dirty and the shower head was full of mineral deposits.

There was a bug in the room on the ceiling. Couldn't tell if it was dead or not but I had monitored it and it didn't seem to move at all while I was there. I even had to sleep with the lights on because I didn't trust anything in that room or around me. I travel solo quiet extensively and never felt unsafe until this stay.

Listen, unless you are on a tight budget, just looking for a really cheap place to crash for a couple of hours and take a hot shower, then this is your place!

But if you want someplace where the property is clean, well maintained, and secured, then I would suggest staying somewhere else! Spend the money to stay in a higher quality hotel that doesn't smell like bad decisions and regret!

Obviously this is not a 5 star hotel, but for what it is it's great. Rooms are clean, air/heat work well, beds are extremely comfy. The staff I've encountered has always been pleasant and friendly. The location is absolutely perfect: Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens are both less than 15 mins away and there are some great dining options & grocery/convenience stores in walking distance. I've stayed here 4 or 5 times and have never had a bad experience.

I booked last minute, so options were limited, but this stay was disappointing. My “non‑smoking” room smelled strongly of cigarettes and marijuana. The hotel has benches positioned directly outside the room windows, which seemed to encourage groups to gather. Our neighbors took full advantage—drinking and smoking outside our window until about 1 a.m., making it impossible to sleep.

To top it off, there was no coffee available in the lobby at checkout. What I did find was an odd display: a stack of canned vegetables next to the microwave. I can send a photo. Overall, not the experience I expected, even for a last-minute booking.

Hotel is totally misrepresented. Pool is the size of a hot tub. Not “on the beach” and there is NO ocean view. Owner agreed to refund my money as i then booked at sister hotel that Was on the beach ( as I was supposed to meet family at the surestay ON THE BEACH) they have the same name& are on the same street. I paid for both hotels & have yet to receive refund. Extremely disappointed. Makes them and this site look dishonest.

I have stayed at this hotel at least 4 times. It's convenient to Busch Gardens and Water Country. Several stores and places to eat close to the hotel. Staff is always friendly! Carpets could use a cleaning, but overall, the rooms seem clean.

When I went into the room I lifted the bed to look for bedbugs and a German cockroach crawled out from the bed frame. So I pulled off the sheets and there was another one! I went down and told the man at the desk and he was very nice and gave us another room. And I searched it for bugs and did not find any, so we stayed. I would have switched hotels but we got there at 1 am so it was too late to book another hotel.

I arrived to the hotel late, when I opened my room they were roaches on the bathroom and the bed. I understand this is not a 3 start hotel, but I didn't expect roaches.The attendant was really nice and she move me to another room. I was so tired that I didn't have time to find another hotel. So I stayed. I slept on top of the bed. The new room didn't have any visible Roaches

Perfect accommodation for me and my son. I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are about. No bugs, no mold, clean room, and comfortable bed! The bathroom is a little old so it seems not as clean. Pool was open and blue. Ice machine worked, and a quick carshare ride to Water Country. And, to top it off they didn't even trip when i ended up checking out a little late. And then the price! Great pick for the area if your not tripping off of frills.

Convenient location. Staff was helpful and the beds were clean, but there were stains on the wall behind the nightstand, a hole in the bathroom wall, and more stains inside the bathtub. Regular coffee was also out of stock for the entire duration of our 4-night stay.
2 other issues, while not directly the fault of staff or property, affected our stay:
This location seems to have problems with panhandling. Was approached on 3 different occasions over a 4-night stay by individuals asking for money.
It was also obvious that other guests were smoking in rooms designated as non-smoking.

Probably one of the cleanest motels I’ve ever stayed in. The pool is open until 9 during the summer and you can barely hear the other rooms near you.
I usually prefer hotels but I would love to stay here again next time we’re doing a Busch gardens weekend

Sketchy areas in parking lot, smell of weed all around outside if door. Some kind of white pill on floor under edge of bed that was there when we checked in and when we left. Avoid this one. Check in was ok. First noticed a lot of white powder behind the beds. When we moved a sofa cushion to set up the pullout bed, a cockroach ran across the cushion. We asked to be moved to a different room. The girl was very cold - like she was used to this type of request. She moved us two doors down. This room was even worse. I pulled the sofa bed away from the wall to check it - found discarded clothing tags, Q-tips, lots of powder, and multiple dead roaches behind the sofa. Also found a dead roach behind one of the beds. At that point we requested a refund and checked out and went to a Holiday Inn. Again, the attendant was very unemotional - no apology, nothing. Just a \"return the room keys before you leave\". While we were loading up the car, we began talking to a gentleman that was smoking outside. We told him about the roaches. He said his wife had gotten bit up the night before. Told him to check the beds for signs of bed bugs. Not sure if he stayed or left after we did. Terrible start to our vacation and will never stay at a Super 8 again.

I reserved a non-smoking room, we were assigned a room that reeked of smoke. The refrigerator was filthy, the room dated. The pull out couch was very old and uncomfortable. Housekeeping replenished our towels, but didn’t make the beds. We stayed one night, the second night I woke to a roach in my bed so we checked out a day early and I am supposed to get a refund, but have not yet. The pool was okay, clean.

I do not recommend this hotel it was super dirty and full of roaches. Lots of stuff was broken and beds were beyond disgusting. They were full of stains, bugs and other unknown fluids around the frame. They also have a very musky smell. We also chose a non smoking room but it smelled heavily of smoke.

The hotel has a good location, but that’s really the only plus. It smells like weed and cigarettes. It is absolutely not clean, my 3yo found a cigarette in the couch. The local crackheads are all hanging around outside, there were cigarette burns in the bedding, there was some kind of white powder all over the edges of the room.

The only good things about the hotel is that the beds were comfortable and the pool was clean. This hotel was so gross, and not kept up. We had two rooms and the manager that checked us in practically shouted our room numbers with a lobby full of people, the “vending” machine was just a snack machine out by the pool, no drink machines. The non-smoking rooms we booked smelled like stale cigarettes and the doors were so hard to close. The bathroom floors were about the newest feature in each room.
Despite the hotel being near several attractions, it definitely needs to be either condemned or remodeled. No breakfast in the mornings and coffee is atrocious with only powered creamer. I have never had such a horrible experience with a Super 8 in my life. People put being loud at all hours of the night and management did nothing. The manager acted like he didn’t care at all. Never will we stay here again.

I asked Expedia to help me get a refund because I left in the middle of the night and stayed somewhere else and luckily, they refunded me for one night and the hotel refunded me for the rest of my stay because I just could not stay there

It was the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever seen besides prostitution hotels in movies. The couch had blood stains on the couch. The room smelled musty and like stale cigarettes. There was a junkie asleep in the parking lot.
