No shops or restaurants/amenities close by, chose hotel for proximity to Glasshouse, which was excellent, 3 minutes walk. Although you can walk down over the millennium bridge very close to the Glasshouse to riverside pubs and restaurants. Took 30 minutes to walk back from central Newcastle city centre

Clean spacious room with added bonus of a sofa! Great little gym a nice extra.. small ( 1 treadmill, 1 bike and 1 cross trainer, various weights and a bench) but no other users and everything I needed. Very good breakfast choice. Overall good prices and value for money

The lobby and lifts stank. The room was freezing, miserable and the bathroom was so full of mould.
I arrived late and was greeted by dogs barking and people hiding in dark corners of the car park and I immediately felt unsafe. Was then greeted by a lobby full of homeless people, who were very polite. Check in was fine and staff were polite.
The room itself was horrid. Freezing cold, outdated, and with a mouldy bathroom. The walls were so thin you could hear everything.
If it hadn’t have been so late I would have left straight away as it was disgusting

Room was lovely and clean.
Breakfast, well the choice of food was good for cooked breakfast, yet there was no pastries at all.
Had to ask for cups, glasses, knives and it came across as this was a chore for the staff.
Usual issue with the juice machines, out of a few juices.

The hotel itself is fine. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Good location, especially when arriving by car. Alas, I was charged twice for the room, and am still waiting for this error to be resolved. Whether this was due to a glitch with Hotels.com or the hotel is a good question.

I booked this hotel as way cheaper than any other in newcastle for a saturday night.
Paid approx £55 for room which is very cheap for newcastle.
It actually on gateshead side of quay but a only a few minute walk down to foot bridge and your over in to newcastle.
Be warned its a big steep bank up to central newcastle .
Loads everywhere in newcastle pubs restaurants and history.
Hotel is really good clean, smart and room wes great even had a iron and board which is great for a budget hotel.
Never ate or drank in hotel so cant comment on those but if your looking for a cheap n cheerful hotel close enough to everything tgen i suggest the ramada.

Stayed here one night to attend a concert at the Arena in Newcastle . I had booked it quite well in advance and was a bit dubious about some of the reviews . I can honestly say we had an enjoyable stay . Hotel was spotless , staff were friendly , the room was on the 3rd floor , had everything we needed , iron , hairdryer and coffee & tea making facilities . Parking was ample and at £10 a night good value compared to over the river . I would definitely recommend.

We dropped our luggage of and went out for dinner came back went to bed after shower the towels had holes in thread bare .
Was woke up at 5.30 am with a delivery guys unloading and chatting for an hour it went quiet again and then the delivery guy start unloading or loading up again after half an hour so we gave up and accepted the fact that we weren’t going to get any more sleep.

The manager could do better.

Sue at breakfast was a good friendly efficient member of staff. Good personality and friendly .

I had a problem checking in as we were 90 minutes early. I was surprised to find that a hotel of this size didn't have a single room available for a couple that had driven for three hours and are almost 80 years old. I mentioned this to the manager and his attitude was not what I expected from a hotel manager.

Nice welcome and room was okay, the sofa bed was horrible and could not use to sit on.
What a horrible abrupt at reception today on our return.

Lovely welcoming service at reception and bar / restaurant area. Room is large and comfortable if dated and dusty. Bathroom and bedding clean but dust on things like remote control, drinks tray etc.

Good decent for a hotel bar but bar area absolutely chaos with people who seem to have no social skills - people having loud conversations on speakerphone, screaming kids, drunk adults and possibly the rudest, noisiest tour group I've ever encountered. On the whole though good value for money.

My experience at this hotel was absolutely amazing! With booking last minute as my other hotel fell through, this one was beyond expectations and they should be given a reward to how amazing they were. Room was in impeccable condition and had a very comfy and good stay here.

Modernish hotel near the Baltic on Gateshead quayside with ample, easily accessible parking. Road noise is noticeable if you're on that side of the hotel, and the window may need to be open, as there is no air conditioning.

The reception girl when I come in at 11 is really nice and friendly. But then it is impossible to find a reception at the rest of stay. No one at 5pm and 8am next day. Impossible to notify that we are in need. The bed is moving no door at the shower so water everywhere in bathroom

The Hotel was fine, when I booked the room it was advertised as coming with a breakfast by the time I got to check in the breakfast had disappeared. Don't trust them, when this stuff is advertised take screen copy's.

Top hotel

As always, a great hotel with big extremely clean rooms, a fantastic bar area and excellent staff. It’s my favourite hotel in Newcastle/Gateshead.

One morning, I had to ask the cleaning ladies to keep their voices down as they were talking very loudly. However, they were very polite, apologised, and made a real effort to be quiet while cleaning the rooms next to mine. Thank you!

Some small issues but overall good stay

Large room, very clean , no air-con. No plugs near bed. Window didnt open as key missing so we asked for a key , or to supply a fan. That didn't happen, so when we got back for the night we asked again, and very helpfully a large fan was provided. Some plug sockets dont work. Breakfast was fine, friendly service by all staff in hotel

I enjoyed my stay at Ramada Encore by Wyndham Newcastle-Gateshead. The customer service was top notch, the room sparkling neat, and very spacious. The staff quite friendly and welcoming. The environment, serene and peaceful. I definitely commend them as well as recommend them.
