Staff are super friendly and welcoming! Hotel room itself is run down which is unfortunate. Headboard off the bed scratched very badly, bathroom bathtub was rusted as was the toilet. Also very odd no toilet brush to clean the toilet after you use it..
The bed was in terrible condition with extreme squeaking and not sturdy whatsoever. Pillows themselves were over used and filled with stains, thank god for the actual bedding being clean.
Location is nice by the water, parking is fairly priced but way too small for the capacity of the hotel.

This experience was more like motorway services than hotel. The whole hotel seemed to have white walls everywhere, especially the corridors.

When going to the restaurant for dinner, I was told I’d need to eat in the bar area as the restaurant was closed for a conference delegates dinner. The restaurant probably had tables for 50-60 people but there were only about 15 delegates!!

I reluctantly went to the bar area. I have to say the best thing I could say about the staff is they were there. No personality, no smiles, low energy. I ordered a ribeye steak for dinner, which because it was priced at £31 should be great. It was a complete rip-off. I took a picture and would post a picture here if I could for you to make your own mind up.

Overall, whilst the room was comfortable it needed a deep clean, especially the bathroom. The toilet u-bend…. urghh. This hotel felt soul-less.

This is not the Leonardo brand standard I know.

The staff were great, we arrived a little bit early but they allowed us to check in as the room was ready, they also gave us a late checkout at midday. The room and bathroom were spotless.
The hotel is sittuated just across the river from all the bars and restaurants on the quayside and is a five minute walk from the hotel. Also the parking prices are very good. I highly recommend staying here.

Hotel car park was full so parked at the Baltic. £30!! For less than 24 hours! Not the hotels fault though. Room was pretty basic and a bit tired. Holes in the curtains, stains on the carpets, mould in the bathroom. I couldn’t get the heating to work so the room was quite cold but my biggest annoyance was the constant whirring of the extractor fan, loud enough for me not to sleep well. Another pet hate of mine is a fixed shower head. Bed was very comfortable though.

The conditioner would turn off not long after being on, there was a lot of noise, and also the toilet stunk of toilet cleaner.
Also the parking was a long walk away from the hotel.
I also got told that I will get a room with a big window and I didn’t get that either.

I would not suggest anyone this hotel and I will not be coming back. I think I should be getting some money back.

The room was everything you expect with a great view Breakfast was very busy with lots of people arriving at the same time but the staff worked hard to keep everything topped up. There was for me a limited fruit section and no yoghurts which is my preference. Everywhere we needed to go was walkable. Whilst we enjoyed our stay the lack of car parking was a real issue. We had to walk 10 minutes to and from the car each time and leave it in an unsecured car park.

Clean simple hotel. No frills. Parking limited, we had to park on the street as the small hotel car park was full. Bed comfortable, the bathroom smelt of cleaning materials, I guess it’s better to smell of bleach than a bad smell. Shows it’s been cleaned! We had a problem with our 1st room, if i hsd been on my own i would have been stuck inside it as there was no handle to open the door. I spoke to jess and shaun who were on reception in the morning, they didn't just help they went above and gave us another room and upgrade

The room was really in need of refurbishment, it was dated and didn’t feel clean at all. I was extremely uncomfortable and unable to sleep my whole stay due to this. As a result I ended up leaving the hotel a night early, even though I had paid for 3 nights just so I could go home and sleep.

Room was dirty. Marks all over the floor and bed base. Marks on duvet too. Bathroom sink had a massive crack in it which was fixed by what I can only assume by someone who had never seen a sink before and did not know what a fixed sink should look like. Whilst I am not disabled, I was given the disabled adapted room and I feel very sorry for someone who has a disability and has to stay in it.

The room was quite tired looking. All felt like it would benefit from a thorough cleaning with several things dirty and run down looking(chips in walls etc).

The beds themselves were fine, and the sheets were clean. The temperature of the room was good and it was quiet even on the roadside.

The staff, but the parking situation is a total joke. Its always a struggle. This time i sat in my car for an hr until someone left carpark. This was 13.30.in the afternoon. You would expect it to be empty

Appalling cuatomer service by one particular receptionist.

I was parked outside reception closest to the exit barrier (sharp 90 degree turn to get out).

Car next to me was really forward to unable to exit without climbing the kerb and risking damage to the underside of my car.

I explained this to the receptionist and her response was \"You shouldn't have parked there if you can't get out..!\".

I then spoke to a manager to see if they could locate the owner to which I got told that whilst they take car registration numbers for guests, their systems don't have the filtering ability to find the owner and the only way was to check every single booking by room...suffice to say they refused to do this.

Thankfully I managed to get out without damaging the car or exit barrier but did so with what felt like a 6 point turn.

Won't be returning to this hotel and some retraining or a dressing down needs to be given to the member of staff.

Hotel is excellent …… no problem at all …… but parking is absolutely awful ….. limited outside and expensive elsewhere….. BEWARE !!! The bus gate / MONEY Gate towards the Glasshouse and Baltic ….. it’s a Gateshead Council Cash Cow !!!!! So be warned and forearmed !!!!! And avoid going along the quayside to a car park that does not exist ….. only to trap you into a £70 fine !!!!!!

Short break with friends.

After we had checked-out, one of our friends discovered she had left 2 diamond rings at the hotel. We phoned the hotel and the staff quickly found the rings and put our minds at rest.
We returned and collected the rings. Very impressed and thankful for the help of staff.

I booked this Leonardo after staying at the Leonardo in Belfast city centre in 2024. Belfast was phenomenally clean and updated, this one feels a bit tired and with that, a little less clean, but generally okay. The bed and bedroom were clean, it was just the carpets and bathroom.

Nice hotel , but its in in an industrial estate. Struggled to find a local shop within walking distance. Selection of drinks in hotel bar not great no coke just pepsi max . Room had an interconnected door to our neighbours, who were VERY LOUD ! Breakfast was good and the beds were beyond comfortable, the bathrooms were adequate, however dated. Parking diobolical ! No spaces at hotel and other parking options meant walking up a steep hill. So parked on baltic car park 30.00 !!

Stayed for 3 nights which we do every year for a celebration. We asked ahead for room 336 a superior triple but when we called on the morning of our planned stay we were told rooms cannot be reserved by number!? Luckily we arrived and we were give 236 on floor two. The views not as good as it’s not that high and you hear traffic going by. We also asked everyday for our room to be cleaned. We put a please clean my room sign on the door handle for staff to see. The room was never cleaned!? How is that possible in a big chain hotel? Staff were lovely too but nothing gets done sadly let down this year

Bed was too soft and lack of a top sheet when it's very warm isn't great. Breakfast choices were poor. No vegetarian sausages. No pastries left. Who has roast potatoes for breakfast?! Not sufficient parking spaces and no non slip mat in the bath. But, we did get a river view as requesed.

Dirty room

Room was dirty and small for 2 adults and a baby when you need to have pram and cot in the room was unable to move about.

Very dusty in the room hasnt been cleaned properly at all. Limescale on shower head, dirt behind tap, tiles dirty, hole in carpet and pillow case. I only notice the pile of dust behind the chair the night before going home and figured out why i had to take my allergy tablets.

Just the rooms very warm air con has to be unlocked via reception would be better if was unlocked anyway then just randomly turns of as on a timer would be better if they let you have control.

I rang day before regarding a fan they said they provided so left at home. No fan available on day 1 got 1 on day 2 and it was on its way out did not nothing. So had to buy 1 from argos which was frustrating as i did ring up, as was there for 4 nights you do need a fan rooms very warm and stuffy makes it very gard to sleep.

Other than that a lovely hotel but was looking forward to a good sleep
