We enjoyed our time at this hotel. The rooms and grounds are spotless. You almost seem like you have the resort to yourself even when it's full.
We had a full size fridge and stove top in our room. Our friends in the adjourning room had the same set up but their fridge was a bar size. The kitchen had the essentials to make tiny meals or breakfast in. The hotel supplied coffee/filters/sugar/salt & pepper. We did a couple of meals in the room and then ate out for the rest.
The staff at this resort are genuinely friendly and helpful.
The restaurant on site has a good menu but is not owned by the hotel. You have to settle your bill each time you're at the restaurant.
If you're looking for an active place this is not it. This place is very quiet and family friendly.
There was seaweed that washed up daily but the \"crew\" had it gone in no time. Note that this is also the windy side of the island. Most days are a nice breeze, other days it's a sand blaster.
Our only drawback was the location. It's a 40 min golf cart ride from San Pedro and 25 min to Secret Beach on bumpy roads. If you are travelling with little ones take note of that. Bring tie downs for your groceries etc.
There are places to buy food and eat out around the resort. Most are a 5-10 ride to find them.
We would return to this resort if back in the area because it's quiet, even when it's full there are beach chairs and staff being so nice.

Hate to write this, very disappointed.

The resort was a 30+ minute bumpy golf cart ride to most everything else on the island. The water at the beach was full of seagrass and it stank.

I woke up a couple mornings to roaches on the floor. One day they decided not to give me wash cloths when that swapped the linens, took an extra day to get them.

The staff was pleasant but not very eager to remedy concerns.

The restaurant service was terrible. Belize is a popular dive destination. The dive service I used picked me up at the resort dock at 8 or earlier. The restaurant didn't open until 8 and I had the breakfast plan with my stay. I tried to arrange for breakfast the night before but it was rarely ready when I was told it would be.

The day I left, at 8 am, I arranged for breakfast at 07:30. I arrived at 07:32 and was told my breakfast was almost ready. A couple came in and ordered, 15 minutes later got their food. The hotel called me to checkout and catch the shuttle, I explained I was waiting for food, I finally got my to go order at 07:52. The restaurant staff seemed unconcerned and sometimes bothered to serve customers.

Bartenders Will and Sheila were the bright spots for the stay and the view from the bar.

X’Tan Ha Resort was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The customer service was truly exceptional. The team was highly communicative, arranged transportation for us seamlessly, and remained extremely responsive throughout our stay. That level of care made a real difference.
Our room was exceptionally clean and very well maintained. The entire property feels like a hidden gem. It is peaceful and quiet, and the guests we encountered were warm and friendly, which added to the relaxing atmosphere.
The resort is a bit removed from some of the busier parts of the island, but that actually contributes to its charm. If you rent a golf cart, getting to other activities and areas is easy and convenient.
One moment that really stood out was when I accidentally left my backpack in a transport van before my flight. I was honestly in panic mode, but the resort team stepped in immediately and was instrumental in helping me get it back. That level of support and care speaks volumes about their commitment to guests.
My only critique is that it would be helpful to have more food options available and open later in the evening. Aside from that, this resort is top notch. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, well-run place to stay.

About a 45 minute golf cart ride from the airport but lots of wonderful places nearby. Mexico Rocks and Stingray Alley are a must do and can book right at the resort dock.

Location is fantastic for those looking to get away from the hussle. Rooms are clean comfortable and spacious.

Not much of a beach but a short kayak paddle away you’ll hit shallow turquoise waters.

Hiring a golf cart is a must but you need to check out the up north bar near by hosted by Oscar.

Onsite food is great especially the breakfast jacks.

The resort was situated north of town which made for a quiet stay. It was just perfect. We had a group of friends and we felt like we had the resort to ourselves. The golf cart adventures into town were great, despite the bumpy roads. The food, staff and bartenders were top notch. Everything I ate was amazing and the staff were so friendly and helpful!! Would definitely recommend and will absolutely return!

Clean room. Extremely friendly staff. Any issues Ed had were fixed within minutes with a smiley face. Only downfall was the beach. Unable to swim to excessive seaweed buildup. They had workers that kept up with the sea weed build up every day, but were unfortunately we were inable to ever swim at the beach as we would sink up your knees in seaweed everytime we walked into the water.

Not a big deal for us though because we enjoyed Secret beach and other beaches in the area. We would definitely stay here again.

The room and resort was nice, but the sargassum was absolutely overwhelming. There was no way to enjoy the beach or even the pool. My friend and I ended up switching to a different resort because it was just too bad. The staff was incredibly accommodating and we did receive a refund. It was disappointing that we couldn't stay but the staff members really were excellent, understanding and helped us out. I appreciated their service and would probably stay again when the sargassum isn't as bad.

The attention to detail by the staff was amazing. They keep the grounds looking beautiful and made us feel important and welcome.

We were very relaxed and enjoyed the benefit of having water available for drinking and cooking. I would recommend packing a water bottle to save money and for the sustainability. The resort is your own oasis and worth the drive. There are many wonderful places to eat and visit nearby.

We had a wonderful stay at this property 10/16-10/20. Yernia was fantastic! Like she literally helped make our trip wonderful and seamless. She helped us with the entire trip every step of the way. She had car services waiting for us, welcome drinks, helped with our hopper tickets and basically anything we asked for —she was able to provide. She was extremely friendly as well. The restaurant food was delicious and the cook was wonderful. We did get to meet her and thank her for a wonderful meal! The property was beautiful and remote. The inside was spacious, cool and very clean. The housekeepers came daily and did a wonderful job with upkeep. It truly was a wonderful experience! Customer service 10/10! Our driver even stuck around and took us to breakfast before we got on our flight.

Now a few bad things that stopped this from being a 5 star review. The mosquitoes and sand fleas were a major problem, but we did go during rainy season so that may have been the issue. Also, the property is quite far from town and with some of the roads being unpaved, it was difficult to get to and from town.

The property was quiet and really nice. Well maintained and clean, I always clean our room/ home when we travel and this place was by far the cleanest. My clorox wipes had very little dust/ dirt on them. It is on a swamp area so there are quite a bit of mosquitos. It's also 8 miles from town so it's a bit of a drive from town in San Pedro. The roads are rough and dark. The good was good, just small portions.
Overall i would recommend this place and i would stay again and bring my kids here.

The resort pictures I viewed on line before making my reservations showed a pristine beach. I love the beach and booked this resort based on what I saw in photos online.
Unfortunately the beach was un-useable due to sargassum. A nasty sea weed that invades the island during the spring and summer. This was not disclosed. If it had I would not have booked this resort or visited Belize. If I had been made aware I would have tried to book a resort on the west side of the island where sargassum doesn't effect the beaches.
This sea weed spoiled the whole vacation.
We had dinner at the hotel restaurant when we got there. I wasn't too hungry so I ordered an appetizer. i ordered the calamari. My mouth fell open in shock when my plate arrived with just 4 rings of calamari for about $15.00 american.

The property itself and the staff were amazing. Beautiful. It's too far north for a golf cart. The mosquitoes were treacherous. I used lemon and eucalyptus Cutter and one a day vitamin with energy and it helped alot. But my daughter and our neighbor were tormented by mosquitoes. There's standing water everywhere.
The people were super friendly. Bring LOTS of 1s and 5s for tips.

The staff member on the last day saves the day. I am in the middle of my travels and the website states they offer laundry services, when I asked about it they don’t wash undergarments. I’ve stayed in hotels all over the world and never heard of this. I brought my laundry to town at 7am and had to wait as long as I could. They don’t have a sister resort to use for a. Day pass so I went back to the hotel at 1. It was too hot to be out all day. I had to go back at 4:30, the wind just picked up and was still hot. The front desk listened to my concerns and had the driver pick up my laundry and bring to my room. I was beyond grateful. Otherwise this would have been one star across the board. Getting sunburnt to get laundry at a resort is not ideal. Also, they make you check out a beach towel. Overall, the hotel is too far. The road is bumpy, like bounce out of the cart seat bumpy. You’re in elements, the sun, wind, rain. The staff are above and beyond helpful and the rooms are VERY clean. The beach itself is nice with a light breeze so it’s never too hot at the resort. Very good AC.
PROS: clean, staff, light breeze, beach front.
Cons: FAR, no snack options really, a restaurant not part of the hotel, don’t wash undergarments. Five stars if it was closer. I wouldn’t stay here again due to location taking away from activities and not being close to a store. Otherwise a great stay, felt safe. Clean.

We loved being up North. It was quiet and the Resort was lovely. We rented a golf cart in town and it was super easy to get around.

The kitchen was stocked with Basics: pots and pans, dishes, can opener, knives, salt and pepper. We shopped in town and cooked most of our meals there.

Most of our time was spent Diving with White Sands Dive shop- they were great. Raul their Dive Master was great with all of us and took time to teach us new things.

My husband and I drove to many different resort and properties to check them out and this property is by far one of the best, we loved that they cleaned the seaweed every morning so that we could use the ocean front. IT IS A BUMPY 35-40 GOLF CART RIDE TO THE RESORT FROM IN TOWN. BUT HAVING BEEN TO TOWN A FEW TIMES, I REALLY TRULY DID ENJOY THE FACT WE WERE FURTHER AWAY. IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU WANT, I LIKE THE FACT THAT AT THE 2 POOLS THERE WAS ALWAYS A CHAIR, AND ON THE BEACH THERE WAS ALWAYS A CHAIR. Clean, friendly and quiet. Had a golf cart for the week, booked with the hotel before arriving and worth it. Already planning our next trip and will definitely be staying at X’Tan Ha again! Also, Alex at the bar is awesome!!!

Quiet Beach Resort

Our stay at X’tan Ha was great. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. It has a nice beach and the Mexico Rocks snorkeling site is just offshore. There’s a nice restaurant and bar that’s out on the dock. It is quiet and is a fair way north of San Pedro on a bumpy dirt road, so you’ll need to rent a golf cart to get to most places.

Beautiful property, nice beach, cool pools and Alex at the bar brings it all together. The staff is accommodating and friendly. Lobster dinner was delicious. Hope to be back one day

The drive to San Pedro is about 25 minutes or about 8 miles in a golf cart. There is about 4 miles of unpaved road which has many pot holes and is real rough.
