This is a wonderful hotel with a great staff and perfect location. Unfortunately, we had some problems with the room service being awful. We ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and the chicken was incredibly overcooked and tasted like rubber. We also ordered a French Onion soup and it was so awful we couldn't even eat it. When I came down and talked with them I was offered \"maybe a scoop of ice cream as compensation?\" That was definitely not what I was expecting at the price point of this hotel.

Hotel is extremely convenient for anyone travelling by train. Right across the square from Berlin Central Station, you couldn’t get any closer to the station. That being said, the hotel is very quiet. Hotel staff are all wonderful and very helpful. The Food Factory across the street has loads of options for eating and drinking, from morning coffee to an evening pint. All of the city sight seeing buses have a stop right in front of the hotel too. The hotel is also close to a lot of the major tourist sites as well. A perfect place to stay on a pit stop in Berlin.

This hotel is located next to Berlin’s central train station with a number of shops and quick stop to eat. We also upgraded our room at a reasonable price to ema corner suite, which was spacious and offered a separate seating area and desk. Overall this was a classy hotel that in a perfect location when traveling to Berlin via train.

Superior room was spacious, clean and had everything you could want. Complimentary tea and coffee. Very quiet. Lovely shower.
A free bottle of still water provided on check in day but not replaced! Would have been nice to be provided with a bottle of water everyday even if just a plastic bottle.

Facilities, access to station, key attractions, breakfast (especially the breakfast !), perfect. However, as always, you get what you pay for: this hotel is not for those with a tight budget, there is no two way about it, it was expensive (1 night for 3, including a child, with breakfast, end of July, 330 euros).

This is a really lovely hotel in an amazing location. The lobby and rooms are both beautiful and large. The rooms are clean and beds are cozy. The one drawback from the rooms is the bathroom offers zero privacy. There's a clear window that looks right into it. So families with older brothers/sisters may not love that part about it. It's perfect, otherwise. We requested a rollaway and it was in our room upon our arrival. The breakfast buffet is honestly the best in town. It's huge and offers just about anything a person could want for breakfast. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is steps away from the main train station, which has a direct line to the airport and everything else in Berlin. It's across the street from a park, Lime bike and scooter rentals, 10 minute walk to Brandenburg Gate. 20-minute walk to Checkpoint Charlie. There's no reason to get a rental car in this town, especially if you're staying at the Steigenberger Hotel.

Great hotel with very nice rooms, great buffet breakfast. One of the few hotels still offering smoked salmon as part of the breakfast options as of May ‘25. Overall, I really like the hotel, the location next to the train station and the view of the German 'Regierungsbezirk', as well as the rooms, the sauna and the bar. This time I was disappointed about the lack of VIP recognition, problems with parking (the garage of the Steigenberger was full) and an annoying sound in my room that I reported. But the staff was very nice, though they did not manage to get a technician to come until the second day (sound went away for a few hours but came back). The bar was packed because the restaurant is closed and I left after waiting for over 15 minutes to order a drink.

If you’re reading this review and you’re on the fence about staying at the Steinenberger, save your time and just book it. I’m an avid review reader and am here to say that words cannot describe how amazing our stay was!!!

You step outside the Hauptbahnhof (on the side with the Rewe to boot) and you’re already there. The grounds were gorgeous and felt super safe. We were greeted by Onur (spelling?) and the residential robot cat, Ella. I’ve never walked into a hotel so happy, and we walked up to the room even happier.

Onur might be the best concierge we have ever met. What an amazing representation of your awesome city—recommending personalized sites for us to see that transcend the typical Berlin experience as well as recommended food and convenient spots near the hotel we’d need to know. He was beyond delightful and set the stage for the next two days.

The rooms? Immaculate. Virtually silent. Completely spotless, beautiful lighting. We didn’t really have a view, but didn’t really need one thanks to jet lag. We enjoyed several hours of Bernd das Brot on the tv. The bed was unbeLIEVABLY comfortable. If we were in any other city I’d had just stayed in bed all day. The soft pillow changed my life. The bathroom was swanky and beautiful,…the SHOWER?! Water pressure was supreme, temperature, impeccable. Housekeeping was awesome.

I’m getting cut short here but have to say this hotel really set off Berlin for us. It breaks my heart to leave. You can’t go wrong with this hotel!

We had a great stay, the hotel is a two minute walk next to the train station in a nice and quiet area, while also within walking distance of all the main attractions especially the Reichstag Building and Brandenberg Gate.

Flawless Stay

I stayed 1 night here a suite in early March.
When I travel, I always look for hotels to review that have something special, most importantly the views, as I shoot timelapses and this hotel had a great view of the front of the station.
On checking in the staff were flawless, the suite 377 was near the elevator so fantastic, the suite itself was amazing, with sliding doors to totally separate the bedroom from the living room, in case you have guests using the sofa bed in the living room they can use the 2nd toilet without disturbing you.
Gym was a decent size with fantastic views, sadly I didn’t get to try the sauna and steam room as I had to commit to other content creation outside the hotel but hope to return later this year.
I looked at a Deluxe twin room to compare and was impressed, a luxurious, modern, decent sized, comfortable room with a Nespresso machine, and at a very reasonable rate, you don’t get that anywhere else!

Luxury hotel with great rooms and wonderful breakfast. However the promised spa is only open at limited times ( not mornings) and didn’t open on schedule when we were there.

Really lovely stay here. I'm very picky about beds and especially pillows and I was pleasantly surprised with their selection. Yes the double bed is 2 mattresses joined together but I'm used to a big bed at home and this means collectively the bed is much bigger than a double. I slept really well, which is unusual for me! The view from the suite was impressive and complimentary water appreciated after long days. Very handy location, we chose to walk along the river Spree to the Gate and other attractions just to take in the sights but the train could not be handier. From the airport it's a straight shot to Berlin central station hbf, the hotel it right outside. Quick note if you fancy a nice bottle to bring up to the room navigate to a Hit supermarket, fabulous selection and V cheap.

Between the non-functional bathroom with a self-flushing toilette that scalds you while you take a shower, the elevators that move at a snail’s pace, and the mystery charges on my credit card after the fact, I’ll not be staying in another property owned by this company. Where I come from, we’d call this type of place ‘putting lipstick on a pig.’

A wonderfully comfortable, crisp and contemporary hotel—easily accessible to everything in Berlin by virtue of its location near the main train station….also via a pleasant walk along the banks of the Spree River into the heart of Mitte.
