Mermaid Beach Park View is a beautifully maintained boutique apartment complex, located in a quiet street and adjoining a park, in the centre of the Gold Coast. Everything that has made the Gold Coast famous is easily accessible with many well known attractions being within walking distance.

Pacific Fair, the Casino and the Gold Coast Convention Centre are on our doorstep and the great people watching Broadbeach cafe scene is a short walk away. And of course the lifeguard-patrolled, lovely Mermaid Beach itself, is moments away at the end of our road.

We enjoyed our stay here it was cosy. There was construction next door but that did not affect our stay at all. Could barely notice it. Place was very comfortable and tidy. Bam Bam cafe next door was a bonus and a short stroll to the beach. The only thing I could fault was shower water was temperamental between hot and cold.

Unfortunately there was a construction site next door.

No milk was available in the fridge for the coffee and tea sachets. When we made the phone call to reception to ask, we were informed there would be no milk to the Monday.

There was a charge of $2.00 for extra toilet paper if we needed it.

Upon arrival we set to the reception, which to our surprise was a lady peeking out of her private window which stunk terribly and tainted our clothes for the rest of the day. Check in was not for several hours later and yet we were expected to keep our luggage outside in the weather conditions. When voicing our concerns of luggage getting stolen she promptly replied “most of the time it is ok”. After speaking to her, she agreed to let us leave our luggage on her “private” patio in the burning sun. When we came back later for check in, we were expected to clime 2 flights of stairs (no elevator) with heavy luggage. The room stunk, carpet was mismatched, and several signs alerting us of potential theft and to always lock our doors. Would not recommend, we immediately left and would never return.

Unit was pleasant, clean and well equiped we didnt realise there was no lift and we were on the first floor and husband has bad knees so the steps didnt help, if we stay again will ask for ground floor unit.The microwave was located above fridge so was a bit high for us shorties and could be dangerous getting hot food out , pool and hot tub/spa was having some maintance done while we were there it would of been nice to have them availiable otherwise an enjoyable stay

Bad check in

How can you checkin at 2pm, when the office closes at 1pm. However the office was unattended even at 12, and manager did not answer calls to their phone. After more than 30 minutes manager arrived and response to my comment on crazy times was “ yes, it’s a bit tricky”. Needless to say we were fuming by then, no apology for leaving us standing in hot tropical sun. Front gate with code entry was out of order, and we were only able to enter because another guest let us in. While unit was fine for our needs, I would not go through crazy checkin process here again. If office is advertised as open it should be. Very bad service.

Wifi not working

Advised manager 4 times that router had a fault yet nothing done to resolve. International travellers booked 2 rooms and no internet.
This was a requirement for all parties traveling and was one of the main considerations as it said internet (wifi) was provided.
No shampoo conditioner dishwash liquid etc provided and toilet paper!

It was a nice unit, if a little tired. My big complaint was the no pressure shower. I did ask at the desk and they had a look at it- it worked ok but when you have it running for more than 30 seconds the pressure became non existant- even at 12.30 in the morning. If the shower was working properly I would recommend the units.

Not overly glamorous but good value for money

The property is a little dated and could benefit from an upgrade but I think this is reflected in the price. Although Park View is close to the main highway, there was little traffic noise in my apartment as it was on the second floor with a sitting room and balcony overlooking Ventura Road and the bedroom was towards the back. The staff are really helpful and pleasant and the apartment was very clean and had all that you could need including washing machine and dryer. It is within walking distance to the beach and also the large shopping centre at Pacific Fair. Mermaid Beach is not in the thick of Gold Coast action but a little quieter and the tram does not come down that far - the nearest station is at Broadbeach South. My main quibble was that the wifi connection was fairly sporadic which was a little frustrating and needs to be remedied. However, all in all, I felt it was great value for money and I would recommend it.

Acceptable place for a short stay

Service was supposed to be on a weekly basis, but on the 8th day we had to ask for a change of linen and towels, and had to make the bed ourselves. For the next 10 days neither other fresh linen not towels were given. The free Wi-Fi was never giving an Internet access, you could connect to Wi-Fi, but no outside connection was provided.

Pleasant stay

We had a Parkview room, which made a nce outlook and cool breezes from the balcony. The apartment is small but good size for a couple. Basic kitchen, but good cafes close by. Close to lovely patrolled beach. Wifi was unreliable, secure parking available below building, managers friendly and helpful. Overall we enjoyed our 5 night stay and liked the more laid back Mermaid Beach area.

Substandard hotel desperately in need of renovation. Outdoor furniture was filthy. Indoor furniture was old and falling apart. Bathroom covered in mold. Shower screen door was broken, shoddily repaired, and hard to open. Rubbish left in kitchen from previous tenants. Bedroom fan was precariously swiveling as it was not properly affixed to the ceiling. Outdoor spa water was an unsettling green colour that ended up giving my wife a skin rash. Pros - close to beach, Casino and Pacific Fair. Not enough to warrant a return visit though. If they spent some money upgrading the facilities and took more pride in the place it could be nice.

Just a weekend away- lovely pool, quiet surroundings and nicely landscaped. very friendly staff. shops at Broadbeach a 15 minute walk away and no restaurants within easy walking distance. I like this area because it is devoid of high rise apartments.

Close to the beach

The place is looking a bit tired , and in need of some maintenance and some basic cleaning.. The tile grout in the shower has some mould, the toilet pan did not look as though it had ever had a bleaching agent in to assist with the bowel \"whiteness\"\".
The external paving tiles also had some mould. The spa pool chlorine could be smelt from some distance.. too much chlorine. Its meant to be a secure facility however the external security gate was frequently chocked open. The carpets did not appear to have been vacuumed for some time; there were cobwebs on the TV cabinet wheels. The bath towels were a bit tired and in need of replacement

Location close to all Gold Coast attractions

My wife and I enjoyed a relaxing week on the Gold Coast; the environment was great and the beach fantastic. We recommend the Kurrawa Surf Club and the beach at Burleigh. Surfers Paradise was only 10 mins away by tram but who needs the shopping! The resort was comfortable and we enjoyed the heated pool and Spa.

Everything you need is here.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I had a unit on the second floor overlooking a great view of the Broadbeach sky rises. Amenities were great, there was a pool and spa although I didn't get a chance to use them, they looked in very good condition. Secure car parking made me feel much safer about my rental car. I would definitely come back.

A little dated, but well maintained.
Only one roll of toilet paper - didn't really appreciate a shopping trip at 10.00pm at night.

Kitchen cupboards need to be little cleaner.
Overall it met our requirements, was comfortable and I would stay again.

The apartment and service was great. 200 m from the beach which was not crowded at all, with good waves if you are in to surfing. Close to park view mall and the tram station. Easy to get to, easy to get to surfers. Recommend it if you can live with out wi-fi

Wonderful place to holiday with my Family. The hotel manager were amazing and very accommodating. Pool area was fantastic, location great 1 minute walk to the beach and a park right behind the complex.
Would diffenitely recommend this place for anyone.
