Did not see any staff every .Reception was always closed.
Rooms were ok ,very old and dated.
Pool ad spa borh top rim around pools were filfytop lip of tiles needed a scrub to clean ,the water looked clean enough though.

Constuction next to our apartment was noisey all the time from 6am to late .
Best part was the location,very close to beach and shops stc.

We didnt have an ideal experience when checking -in to our room initially.
We arrived at 9pm- after office hours so my email instructions were to find our room key left in key box, but the key that was left for us was a different key to our actual allocated room no.given in our arrival letter with room key instructions.
We ended up unlocking the door of another room which was already occupied( which was the room no. on our key that was left for us ) and then didnt have the right key for our allocated room-so we didnt have any apartment and after ringing the services no. to explain the situation, we then waited 15mins before a reply came with what we were to do.Eventually we rounded up someone ourselves on the premises and explained the situation who then got us the correct key. Once in our room ,we discovered there was no linen provided for our sofa bed- it was eventually brought to us. So overall we were not that impressed with our introduction to Montego Sands Resort

Surprised at the age of the bed, think 70’s . Overall the place was quiet ish, comfortable, neat, although a few things missing, it had an iron but no ironing board, pegs but no clothes airer, but great location

Our \"Deluxe\" apartment 3 was on the ground floor fronting the road and main pathways in to the complex. This meant that all windows allowed for full view in to the apartment. The bathroom window over the toilet faced the road and had clear glass which meant that the blind had to be down 24/7. The wire shelving in the wardrobe was unusable due to grease and dust. The outside spa pool was full of dead flies and sand. The furniture in the apartment was in good condition. However the rest of the apartment was lack luster for a Deluxe room.

The unit was very clean and tidy. The beds were so comfortable. Really enjoyed our stay. Lillian made it so easy for us and was so helpful and friendly in all of our communication. The pool looked lovely but we just did not get a chance to use it. Had an allocated parking space in secure parking. Thank you for a great stay.

Montego Sands is in a quiet side street and only a hundred metres or so from the beach. There is underground parking in a designated bay and both the wi-fi and cable TV were good. The swimming pool was small and looked unappealing. The rooms are spacious and although a bit tired looking they are comfortable enough.

Dated and noisy.

I used to enjoy staying here as it is small and cozy but the construction of a huge skyscraper next door not only had created noise issues but also blocks the sun.
I stayed in 2 different apartments and both needed updating.
Bedside lamps that wee filthy and falling apart is not acceptable at the prices which have doubled.
Regretfully I will be looking elsewhere next year.

A multi storey construction site nextdoor that starts work at 6.30am every day should be advised prior to booking. No one on site to help on arrival. Nowhere to park until you get key for carpark. No phone number to speak to anyone upon arrival only a sign to say you can email reception. This was at 2.00pm in the afternoon. Obviously reception does not want to be there listening to construcion work all day either!

Chose this resort for its proximity to Dracula's as we wanted to be able to sample the drinks and not have to worry about driving. The property was a two bed split over two floors and close to major shopping and eating places. On site parking helped and for those who like beach it was a short walk away. Terry was the contact there and he was friendly and honest. Very nice stay and would used again next time we are in OZ and the Gold Coast.

Montego Sands is in a great location with close proximity to Beach, Surf Club and Pacific Fair.
Unit I stayed in was in a very tired condition with frayed carpet, old fluorescent lights which took some time to turn on and the shower head did not stay in the upright position.
No particular criticism of the unit or the complex however in my opinion there is much more modern complexes available at the same rates.

A gem of a Resort.

This Resort is a gem, it is in excellent condition. the apartment was very spacious and clean.
It is in a great location, about a minutes walk to the beach and about 5 minutes walk to public transport and a huge shopping mall. it is in a very quiet location. Glad I stayed there.
Next time I am in Surfers this is where I am staying.

Over all a good stay. Kitchen is small but well stocked. Washer and dryer are modern. Baths are a little dated. Baths have louvered doors and sounds carry into the living room. We were on the top floor and WiFi was not good. There was some weather but I think the problem is more then that. Management is good and it has covered parking

Stayed here for the first time, and was pleasantly surprised. Very clean close to all the major centres and the staff are very polite and helpful. We stayed in apartment number 1 which is on ground floor right next to the pool. Units have everything you want for a great stay and if you require anything else I am sure if you ask Terry or Mia they would be only too happy to help. Will definitely be back, great place to stay and a great price

Great for 4 people, sheets clean, but very tired, needs new carpet (especially in the stairwell it smells terrible like urine) and the balcony furniture is all rusted so stained our clothes before we realised. The gardens need doing and the people that live there permanently have all their washing out on the balconies not a good look. Terry at reception was very helpful.

Absolutely loved staying at Montego Sands and won't hesitate to stay again! Its got a very Greek feel to it and just looks beautiful. Rooms are mostly clean but could just use a little more attention to detail when being cleaned but thats just me being picky. If you plan to use any of the dishes provided,
Bring your own dishwashing liquid or doshwahser tabelts. Overall great place to stay

Very comfy bed with crisp sheets. Check in was very quick and efficient. The location is ideal with a 2 minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute walk to Pacific Fair shopping centre.
Unfortunately the apartment needed a good clean. I could write my name in the dust on top of the air con unit on the patio and also the louvres outside and inside were thick with dust. The sofa needed a good airing - every time I sat on it the dust made me sneeze. The top of the bedhead also needed dusting.
We would not stay there again due to the lack of cleanliness.

Great apartment with everything needed for a 9 night stay. Very friendly and helpful manager and nothing was too much trouble for him. Great communication and he was quick to reply to all my email questions. Was able to check in late and catch up with him the next day. Apartment was spacious and it was a wonderful surprise that he had put a single bed in so my daughter and myself didn't have to sleep in the same bed or make up the sofa bed every night. Close to shopping, eating out and the main highway for easy driving and only a few minutes walk to the bus and tram stop. Would definitely stay there again. Also booked an apartment for family members which he upgraded for free. Recommend this apartment and manager.

We booked a deluxe King room. The bed was like a plank of timber. The couch was as comfortable as sitting on concrete. Apparently there was nothing better. Very dissatisfied with what looked like a great apartment. The photos make this old accommodation look better than it is. I booked because of the Great reviews but I don't class any part of it as excellent.

Fantastic position - 1 min walk to beach - across the road from Pacific Fair biggest shopping centre on the Gold coast . 5 mins drive to Surfers Paradise - not far from Burleigh Heads etc - best position - stayed here twice and can highly recommend Montego Sands Resort. Terry and his wife are fabulous and nothing is too much trouble.

I enjoyed my time at Montego Sands Resort, the place is very nice and the service was great. I arrived late at night and the key was left for me in the box with instructions. The place is beautiful the rooms are cozy the air condition was working great. We used the pool and spa in the evenings which was just nice to chill after a hot day. Terry helped me book a day trip to Movie World which I forgot to do before arriving to Gold Coast, I really appreciated that. Its nice and quiet and we had absolutely no issues. We were mostly out during the day and back to rest in the evenings, I would definitely stay here again in my next visit to the Gold Coast. Our room had all the facilities needed. The beach is only a 2min walk away. We had a car to get around Gold Coast so staying here was just right for us. This is definitely the place to be for a quiet stay for family and couples. Five Stars from me :)

A very comfortable apartelle in a quiet street.

The apartelle was spacious,airy,comfortable and in a quiet street a hundred metres or so from the beach.There was secure underground parking and the wi-fi was fine. The nearest pubs and restaurants were a 15 minute walk away, although the Mermaid Beach Surf Club is only 7 minutes away and that serves food and drink.
It has a couple of quirky characteristics, although these are mentioned on the website. For example, the reception closes at 4 PM. Also, guests have to dispose of their own garbage and recycling when checking out ( which is at the earlier than normal time of 10 A.M. )

My King Deluxe apartment had everything I could ever need for a home away from home, so it's especially good for longer stays. Very clean and spacious, great airconditioning, recently updated fixtures and appliances,quiet, undercover secure parking. Only a minutes walk to the beach, and 10 mins walk to shopping at Pacific Fair. Great location, Loved it.

I had a Deluxe unit and although the complex would be 20+ years old, this unit was totally refurbished. \"Totally\" meaning that when you opened the door you would think you were in a brand new unit. The TV in the lounge was the largest I've had in any hotel or apartment in 35 years of travelling (and there is a smaller one in the bedroom). The beach is 200 metres away and The Star casino and huge Pacific Fair shopping centre a 3 minute drive.
The Managers had no occupant in my unit the night before I was due to check in, so they emailed me to say I could check in any time after 9am if I wanted. Customer Service at its finest!! I will make it my regular 'home away from home'.

Our stay was comfortable and our room was very clean. If you like a decent walk then it is in walking distance to restaurants and cafes it took us a good 20 -30 minutes on foot. It was nice and close to the beach though less than 100m. We stayed two nights, on Sunday morning we had no hot water left for a spa or shower. There was no elevator which can be a struggle getting luggage up three flights of stairs. Rooms spacious, clean tidy. The unit we stayed in could definitely do with an upgrade. Overall not a bad stay but we felt a little over priced for what it was.

Convenient location in Broadbeach. Extremely friendly staff. Seriously, go and ask anything, Terry replies over email in a matter of minutes.
Penthouse was big and as advertised. While the place is a little bit old, everything was clean and in good shape.
The free and assigned parking space under the building is of great convenience too.

This trip was on short-notice, so a lightning visit made less stressful by the Montego Sands' peaceful and comfortable environment. The Manager, Terry and his wife were very helpful and welcoming, and we even shared a few sentences in Mandarin chinese. So, for anyone seeking a peaceful stay in Surfer's Paradise, then the Montego Sands is just what you are looking for and the beach is right there, plus Broadbeach's restaurants, bars and cafes are all within a short stroll. For Chinese tourists and holiday-makers, Terry and his wife will be your perfect hosts, but they're equally versed in english for we Aussie folk. Enjoy the pool, the palms and the balcony area for a thoroughly relaxing stay!

Nice and quiet stay

We stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe penthouse for 9 nights. Our room was clean tidy and heaps of room for a family of four.
The hotel itself was nice and quiet considering it was the Christmas holidays we pretty much had the pool to ourselves which was nice after a busy day out!!
Terry the manager was very friendly he made our stay very welcoming. We were surprised to get a text from him the day before our arrival to say that our room would be ready for check in at 11am to bad that our flight didn't get in till 2pm.

Quiet, close to beach, but ordinary

Fact: If you stay 7 nights or less, there will be no service what so ever. You get 2 bath towels, one hand towel and one floor mat, 2 small soap, one load of laundry powder, one load of dishwashing liquid and 2 toilet paper roles. If you stay more than 7 nights, there will be one service, changing bed sheet and towels, but no other supply, so one must consider purchasing shampoo, soap, washing detergent, toilet paper, salt and pepper, sugar.....
You must dispose the waste bin when checking out to avoid $50.00. (Not sure how they've got $50 for something that will take less than 5 minutes).
When I check in, the floor was dirty, so much sand, dust, hair...when informed, it was cleaned again.
The blinds (no curtains) were so ineffective, but 4:30 am, the bed room is so very bright, had difficulty to sleep.
The speaker on TV was the worst I've seen.
Some cooking utensils and kitchen wares were not clean, took some photos, would be happy to provide. Also, they are very basic, mostly cheap Ikea level, mostly plastic, no wine opener.

Personal opinion: Good for a day or two, but no more. It appears that the place is run to maximise the short term profit by providing the least, instead of maximising long term value by providing good service and experience. For 8 nights of my stay, if they have spend just $10 more, it could have given better impression. And also, putting investment on curtains and better TV or kitchen stuff would have made to return but it is not the case.

Walk to the beach, broadbeach and pacific fair were very close. A couple of cafes nearby for coffee and breakfast. Also great restaurants along the highway. It's walkable but we had a car so everything was only 1-2 minutes away.
The apartment was better than expected, quite a lot of room for 2. The couch did smell a little funny and an extra roll of toilet paper would have been great.
Overall would recommend.

Great resort to stay in Gold Coast

Great resort to stay. It contains almost everything you needed in an apartment. Just need to clean up all the plates and rubbish before leave. Host is friendly as well to help. Recommended place to stay.

Quiet area close to beach and shops

The unit I had was clean with a nice comfortable bed. Plenty of fans and an aircon. Secure underground parking easy to get in and out of. The manager was very friendly and helpful.

Personal Service is Excellent

The owners of the Montego are amazing! I received a personal text message the night before our stay advising of their weekend policies which allowed us to check in much earlier than we originally anticipated. And then when I was running late (the joys of running your own business!), the owners were so accommodating and kept reception open later than usual waiting for us to arrive. That personal touch made the entire stay very much appreciated and I would definitely recommend the Montego to anybody who is seeking accommodation on the Gold Coast.

The apartment is nice and in a decent location close to Broadbeach facilities and has great beach access. The pool is a bit small, but not a big deal when the beach is so close.
