We were able to check in early and Lucky upgraded us to a 1 bedroom self contained unit. It's an older complex but everything was clean, lovely gardens, hot spa and nice pool. Great location only 350m to beach.

The lock to front gate is confusing,late arrival was horrible experience, couldn't unlock the safety bx to get my room key,then had to haul my luggage up 3 flights of stairs, not even tv in bedroom, room very dated and dusty if you moved a piece of furniture..Just found the whole experience a bit annoying.

cops turned up 4 times in 16 days whilst we were there shower dirty and under bed lolly stuck to carpet and not vacuumed but we just didn't say anything as we don't like to cause friction we just cleaned out shower and cleaned up carpet! we were just sleeping and showering their so wasn't worth the hassle even though we paid good money for it !!!

We had seen some bad reviews about this property, but we booked it because there were very few options for our dates (we hadn't realised we were booking in the middle of Schoolies season till we saw all the schoolies!).

Our apartment was a delight, comfortable and clean, and we loved the ambience of the building and its grounds. Very handy to everything we wanted nearby including cafes, shops and the fabulous Gold Coast tram. We would stay again.

The downside was very poor communications from the management. We emailed before arrival wanting to check on arriving after reception hours (ie, 7pm) but got no response. It was fortunate I phoned, as you need a code to get through the gate and then into a key box, and phoning was the only way we discovered this. They then took two lots of a $A300 bond from my credit card, one the bond they said they would take, the other a second one put through after I emailed them a photo of my credit card and driver's licence, which they asked for in the phone call. I had to ask several times in person at reception and by emails to get that $A600 back which they did, in two separate transactions a couple of days apart. A very odd procedure.

Oh and we couldn't find anything about internet access; there was meant to be a sign of some kind in our apartment. Never mind, I just ran my laptop off my phone hotspot which I often do anyway.

But these issues aside, we really liked the apartment, which was on the ground floor. Very lush area.

The apartment was dated and lacking in the small things like a shelf in the shower to put things on, no spare toilet rolls or hand towels and not enough tea, coffee and milk supplied for 2 people for 4 days. The upside is that it is within walking distance to shops, beach and transport.

Don’t stay here. Pay extra and stay somewhere decent. The whole place needs a make over and don’t get me started on the condition of the mattress. Old, dirty with springs sticking out everywhere. Really dirty room, the bare minimum of cleaning done. We couldn’t find the tv remote and had the misfortune of pull out the bed to find it. Disgusting to say the least. The carpet on the stairs was filthy, hand rails sticky. Linen and towels the cheapest of quality. The management are making as much money as they can by spending the very least that they have to. 0 out of 10

Size of rooms large....bedroom, lounge. Good optioned kitchen .... oven, microwave, dishwasher. Also had washing machine and dryer. No lifts so not good for mobility challenged, however not a problem otherwise. Close to tram line and Pacific Fair. Will stay again.

It started with reception, intercom broken at entrance,didn't know code had to ring and waited 10 minutes! Shower was mouldy had to ask for it to be cleaned. Wi Fi and Foxtel wasn't up and running until 8th day of a 10th day stay, alerted straight away was told handyman couldn't fix as old unit, but manager fixed it on 8th day, too little too late. Couldn't get discount or go anywhere else as had a policy no refund, we felt trapped. Please do yourself a favour and pay extra to stay at Meriton or Dorsett!

They demanded photo id by email (without explanation) after the refund expiry and left me locked out, unable to contact anyone, looking for alternate accommodation on a weekend afternoon.

The room was like living in an ash tray. People smoke on balconies and it wafts straight into the studio. I wish I had stayed somewhere else. Terribly disappointed in the management and their lack of skills in handling an issue. Not good at all.

I booked this unit for myself & my mother who is 66, for a week holiday for her birthday. After walking up 4 flights of stairs she had a fall on the balcony as she walked through the curtains and fell on to the chair and broke it, mind you the chair was old... thankfully she only had a few bruises. The unit was absaloutly disgusting, the washing machine wasn't cleaned at all, had fluff and dirt and mould throughout the unit. The air con didn't work upon arrival, it wasn't stated you had to walk up 4 flights of stairs either. The after hours lady was helpful yet took almost 2 weeks to get a outcome of a refund, which was only givin a credit to stay there again. I have attached photos for a review. I wouldn't recommend staying here!

The room smelt terribly, carpets and curtains were stained and moldy, towels had hair on them and stains, toilet seat had huge cracks full of germs, customer service was shocking. Kids couldnt stop iching themselves all night so we had to leave ASAP in the morning. Definately not a 3 star property as advertised so many OTHER beautiful accommodatation places in broadbeach. Dont waste you money or holiday at this place.

I booked this property as I was attending a conference nearby. I was not told about having to check in before 4pm when I booked. After a long day I arrived at my hotel to find we were locked out and nowhere to stay. I rang the \"out of hours\" phone number at least 10 times and left messages and sent multiple emails, STILL have not heard back. AND they kept my money! AVOID THIS RIP OFF HOTEL

The only positive was location. No hot water for morning shower, cockroaches in bathroom & kitchen, no bath mat or hand towel, dirty worn carpets, mouldy dirty curtains. Horrible property, locked up making check in awkward, big sign at the locked front gate saying use the phone on the wall to contact reception - there’s no phone, have to call on your phone. We used nothing in that filthy dump.

The only positive I can say is the location. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. The apartment was not clean, my impression was that they didn't even clean the room after the last person left. It seems the carpet is has never been cleaned, the walls where dirty, the sofa needs to be replaced, bad smell in the apartment. The apartment was very tired.

The staff in the reception was very rude and the lady in the office yelling at us.

I would not recommend this accommodation!

Would not recommend this accommodation and will ensure others are warned.
The location was good for our use.
Unfortunately the receptionist was rude, poor communication and negligent in her duty.
No communications mentioned there would not be someone available for check in. We received a text msg referring to out of hours check which we believed did not apply to us as we were checking in during advertised hours. However, on arrival we received a rude phone call demanding my credit card number and would not provide access codes unless given over the phone. Upon arrival receptionist was there and gave us room and gate keys and asked if we needed parking. We advised we did and she directed us to the carpark. No remote was provided nor advice that the gate would be locked after hours and we were unable to exit when needed to meet our booked tour (after travelling from Darwin for the purpose of the event).This meant we had to catch a taxi costing $95 to meet tour. On returning the receptionist was extremely rude and yelling when we questioned the gate being locked and when we pointed out that this was a safety issue as unable to exit. No apology or remorse just a arrogant attitude and dismissed us entirely.

Communication was poor, confusion rd deposit bond, was called as I arrived & getting an e-mail as an emergency because I didn’t have enough cash upon my arrival to pay, was told to use my mobile number correctly & was told the one I had given was wrong! I did receive at least 4 calls on the mobile how can my mobile number have been wrong?

The apt was dirty, I showed upon inspection of the room when leaving, dirty oven tray, tissue & more behind the bed on the floor vacuuming has not happened in there for a while, shower air vent covered with fluff, table & balcony floor needing a clean, dust pan & brush covered with hair , this i mentioned to the reception lady twice .

After 40 years of global travel, this is by far the worst place I have ever stayed. Dirty, run down and generally disgusting. No lift and 3 floors which is very inconvenient.

The carpets were disgusting, the kitchen was dirty, had to wash all the glasses, plates and bowls before using them. Bathroom had the sink barely hanging on and moved whenever you touched it. The sofa bed is a complete right off, we had to go and buy extra bedding and towels to lie on as the springs were wearing through, it was also covered in sticky food on the one side. Definitely not cleaning to current COVID 19 rules.

PLEASE STAY AWAY DROM THIS PLACE.

Only downside I can think of is the car park, there is not enough parks for the amount of rooms. We often had to park on the street a few streets away which was a little frustrating.

The tiles around the pool and the entrance are very slippery when wet.
The air conditioning unit in our room was very noisy. Also you cannot sit on the balcony with the air conditioning on.

We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay for 8 nights. We found the lady on reception friendly and informative. The 1 bedroom apartment had everything we needed and the Washer/Dryer, Foxtel and Speedy Wifi were a bonus. Everything worked well. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The Pool & Spa and surrounding area are lovely and clean. The BBQ area is spacious and clean. Liked having a gated secure basement carpark for hire car. Aruba Surf is a peaceful place & we loved sitting out on the balcony listening to the birds chirping. I booked in advance and put in a request for a specific room, the lovely lady was able to give it to me. I'm so grateful it was available! Self-contained apartments suit us, don't have to feel rushed to leave to let cleaners in etc. I was aware to bring own toiletries etc. Can't understand why some people complain about this! We were happy to have a room on ground floor. We are both in our 60's with health issues, so not sure we would have been able to handle more stairs for the higher rooms. Aruba Surf is in an excellent location. If you don't have a car it is so easy to get around. In between 2 shopping centres. The Beach, Tram and Casino within close walking distance. This place is good value and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Thankyou to the Staff at Aruba Surf! Was sad to leave!

Excellent location.......5 mins walk to the beach and 5 mins to the town.Staff are very helpful and went out of their way to meet our needs. My wife and I stayed 8 days in a 1 bedroom........while spacious,clean with a nice balcony the rooms are dated and require modernization. Paint was peeling in the bathroom.

A great location very close to South Broadbeach tram stop, Pacific Fair Mall, Oasis mall and a huge well patrolled beach.
Lots of space in the appartment, Good Internet, good TV, great to have laundry facilities including some detergent.
Some signs of age, cracks, broken dishwasher, but most things worked. Could have used some insect spray when I arrived to get rid of a couple of mosquitoes, some of the information may have been out of date.
Nice hosts who were generally helpful and responsive.

Chose to stay here for 1 night as it offered a washing machine and dryer (after a few weeks of traveling). The dryer did not work so we were left with wet clothes. When arriving there was only quarter of a roll of toilet paper and if we wanted more they wanted to charge us. Furthermore the shower was full of black mould and the bed was well and truly past its used by date... I wouldn't recommend staying here!

the property it self was fantastic but the room wasn'y good at all. the floor tiles in the kitchen are cracked. the shower screen is broken and doesn't close properly. no wire screens on either the bedroom window or outside sliding door meant they couldn't be left open on hot nights, ceiling fan in bedroom only had one speed and wasn't located over the bed correctly. room i was rate as poor

Was very central to pacific fair, Dracula's and main motor ways to other places. Was a block off the main road so you don't get the noise and or dust and the pool and spa are great. Deacon at check out is very helpful. Thought i had free internet as was on their website but you have to pay for that. Also have to pay a bond up front when you check in. Has air con and ceiling fans so is good if you don't like the heat and the balcony was nice too.

The room smelt bad. Generally felt unclean and grubby. Visibly dirty on the fridge door. He bed was uncomfortable and pillows very flat. They only have us one roll of toilet paper for four days and had to ring to get more. There were three of us guests and only two towels, when I asked for another towel they said there would be a charge for it. You have to clean the place when you leave and remove all the recycling and rubbish yourself. There are signs in the room saying you will be fined if not. Just felt generally uncomfortable in the room. The pool also is way smaller that the picture assumes.

On arrival our room had to be swapped due to a tap leaking into a bathroom cabinet. When the room was swapped we were given a room on the 4th Floor, with no lifts this made the access difficult for 2 over 80 year olds. On departure we had to wait over 20 minutes for someone to check the room which I can guarantee was cleaner when we left.

Very basic room 22. No light in bedroom for the two weeks we were there. Manager said owner was not prepared to pay for electrician. No dishwasher liquid supplied at all. Property walls and doors in much need of attention. Heated swimming pool NOT heated no one seen using pool in the two weeks we were there . I tried pool once but it was cold. Another resident said it had been like this for the 6 weeks he was there. Kitchen equipment needs updating. Not a very happy stay. Will not be returning.

Like the property's location to the beach, quiet and room was clean and tidy.

The location was great.. but it would have been better with a lower floor as there was no elevator and we had to drag the suitcases up several floors.

the bathroom shower was very basic - not even a soap holder. thus not very comfortable to shower there.. it does not cost much to provide this basic amenity
