Our room was clean, and check in/out was painless. For the very low price we paid this was a great *_off-season_* accommodation. When we visited, we found the indoor pool had been closed for a number of years, but this was not advertised on the listing, and ended up being a minor disappointment. The overall condition/upkeep is somewhat lacking, but this is forgivable given the off-season room price and availability. The ocean view from the 3rd floor is pretty good, the off-season sunrise/sets were beautiful. If you want to see the ocean, I highly recommend against floors 1 and 2. The location is really great in terms of distance to food and local attractions.

The location is incredible! Right on the beach. Just amazing views! However I had to change rooms because the bathroom sink was stopped up and gurgling black stuff up. The second room had the same problem with the sink. There’s cigarette butts all over the grounds. Trash is blowing around. The stay was supposed to be for quiet and relaxing peace. The other vacationers were very loud and stomping all night. Won’t be very likely to go back.

We were not expecting to not have an ocean front room. The steps up to the room were uncovered and it was very uncomfortable for my wife who had recently had an injection in her knee. We ha e been happy with our room before when we have stayed there but we were very disappointed with our room this time.

My bad. I didn't read the description accurately and believed my room included a full kitchen. It did not, just a refrigerator and micro with no plates or silverware. I had brought dinner from home and ended up eating out. I must admit I enjoyed eating out with many restaurants from which to choose. The room was clean and offered a dune view. We could hear the crashing surf and see the ocean at the end of the complex walkway. I did not see a swimming pool or a building that looked like it housed an indoor pool, so check before booking if it's important to you. The room's furniture were a mismatch of styles. There was only one chair for the room., and no closet. This was a budget room. Really not enough negatives to whine about. Just don't expect the Ritz. Had a good time.

If you are looking for anything nice, this is not the hotel. Had it not been Labor Day weekend, I would have found somewhere else to stay. The room wasn’t very clean, stains on the towels and the walls were gross. Wiped water off the floor and towel was dirty from it. Had to have the AC very cold to keep the room from feeling gross.

We loved our stay at the Blue Heron Motel. Right on the beach, close to everything that you would need. It is not a new, fancy hotel (which is what we wanted). It was clean and larger than expected. The only thing I would suggest is to put some curtains on the window in case guests wanted to sleep in. Overall, we would definitely stay here again!

This was a old 3 story motel, with a luggage elevator. I loved this place the minute I got in my room. I was right on the beach, it's old in a reto way. I would stay here again. The view from the third floor rooms was breath taking. Stay if you can.

The website showed breakfast. There was none. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom door would not shut, but was just my wife and me, but still. The view from the third floor is awesome! Location is great. Overall we had a really nice time.

The lights were very bright which is ok for sometime, but not all the time. We also had a little trouble parking. Could use a couple more spaces or limit guests to 1 car/room. The Blue Heron is cool for a quick getaway. It isn’t the fanciest spot, but it is oceanfront, and you can’t beat the view looking right out on the ocean from the top floor. It wasn’t the cleanest, but it was decent enough for a couple of nights. Huge perk that it was pet friendly. If you want to hit the beach with your pup on a budget, this is the place to do it!

Great place to stay for a single night. Room was big and clean. Back door opened directly to beach access. Very friendly staff and very accommodating. Relatively quiet though being on the first floor meant we heard our neighbors walking above us. But other than that would highly recommend.

I was called on my way to the property by \"John\" who had told me I could check in early and asked when I would be arriving- I was thrilled- I told him my e.t.a. he told me okay and hopes I enjoy my stay. I get to the property to find out \"John\" isnt even an onsite employee and he denied what he had told me, which was aggravating. My husband was less than impressed at this-We were then told we would be called as soon as the room was ready. We were never called hours go by - we went back to the office at regular check in time. The room was above the office which is fine(that was why it was cheaper than the others) except the stairs are quite narrow. The room wasn't very clean and the sheets felt like there was sand in them. Pillows were flat. The mattress was indeed firm- if you like that. I don't think its actually a Queen, maybe a Full size bed. The soap, shampoo & conditioner (2 in1) and lotion were in dispensers instead of individual bottles. You could see the hole where the pipe for the showerhead comes out of the wall. The bathroom was kinda dark even with both lights on. The towels folded like kissing birds setting at the foot of the bed like on a cruise ship was cute. The a.c. blew nice and cold. The beach access was awesome. Even though the room was on the street side of the hotel it wasnt very loud. All in all its an ok place to stay. The room rates are a little high, but, it IS oceanfront.

Upon arrival we discovered hair in the shower. The provided hair dryer was broken and kept tripping the electric breaker. There was no housekeeping service during our stay and we only started out with 2 washcloths. You have to go to the front office across the parking lot to get refresh on toiletries and towels. The bright spot of this hotel is being ocean front.

Needed a small table and chairs to eat at. There was a large table very unusable with the chair in the room. Would work as a desk. Air conditioner was the only problem we had. Would stay at 75 and not move. Would turn off every few minutes in the middle of the night. Had to push button to get going. Made for a tiring night. Overall a wonderful stay for anyone looking for a vacation place. Centrally located. If you have trouble with stairs do not go to the third floor. They do have a lift for your luggage, it is slow so be prepared.

He did put us on the 3rd floor for better view of the ocean BUT gave us keys to a room already occupied, that was embarrassing. No elevator, rather narrow stairs. Room was beautiful & very clean. Nice beachfront rooms. Room was just repainted and new tub. Needs more and better pillows and an extra blanket. There is a large cabinet at the door Star could be replaced with a wardrobe as there is no place to hang clothes.

Very basic, think Motel 6 with a great view. A/C was great, pillows were great, bed decent. TV service good, ice machine great. Outdated, sandy floors, smashed bug on the wall, left over bottles of shampoo for general use...that was weird, plastic cups had faulty bottoms, way too much light coming into the room at night. Who uses white cloth shades for light reduction? Pool was out of commission, looks like for a while now. Toilet sized for kids and short women, not men with \"dangly\" things. Nice office staff. Not sure I'd return to this location. Not sure who provided the online rating but disagree with it's rating determination.
