The hotel is under construction. It is very dirty and dusty. The water pipe is not working well. The toilet flush button is broken.The beds are unomfortable. The wardrobe is very dusty and spider web there too . The breakfast is very bad. Some are expired. We have to walk out from hotel to other place to have breakfast. The person who incharge breakfast is not friendly. Alot of flies on the food. We booked for 2 nights and we reached there night time. We only stay there one night and changed the hotel. We cant get refund as we had checked in. We find that they should be honest regarding to the hotel conditions. The price is almost the same as other hotels.

It was not a good experience. First the room smelled dank. That’s partially due to a leak in the sink. Told them when we first arrive there after check in. They say they will dice it. They never did. Told them the second day again. They never fixed it. I asked them for extra towel so we can line the restroom floor due to the leak. They said they ran out. They keep passing the buck from the night and shift. On the 3rd day. They change rooms for us. They say they will move our luggage for us. They never did. In the second room the shower head holder was broken. When you turn it on it sprayed everywhere in the restroom due to high water pressure.
Second issue was the bath towels. They are old and tattered. Looks disgusting. More like a rag. Third issue is the breakfast buffet. You have to walk 100 meters to a different hotel. Not convenient. The selection there is terrible. I’ve stayed in Hanoi several time and this by far is the worst hotel ever.

Great budget hotel in an excellent location in the Old Quarter, surrounded by restaurants, cafés, spas, and countless other shops and services. Tour companies, currency exchange, and laundry services are on every corner. The room was comfortable and spacious, and the hotel has an elevator. They also offer tour services and airport transfers, which is super convenient. The staff is friendly and attentive, always ready to help with any requests or questions. Breakfast is included, though it's served in a building just a 2-3 minute walk away.

Dining was at another location. No safe in our room, no chair. Broken PowerPoints, so one was Overloaded. No safety latch on door. No hanging facility. No bedside table. BUT was moved to another room which was much better. Staff were accommodating.

The staff were quite friendly and attentive to my and my friends’ needs. The laundry service is fantastic with a fast turn around time. They also helped me with a taxi to the airport which made things very simple and easy.
I was disappointed that my room did not have a water boiler, yet they had tea cups in the room.

I stayed for 2 days at the Serendipity Hotel during my stay in Hanoi and everything was perfect. Excellent location in old Hanoi, large, quiet and clean rooms. and above all a great staff. Their advice of restaurants and cafes are great, they only offer places frequented by Vietmamese, out of the tourist circuits . A highly recommend for a stay in Hanoi .

Stay two nights at the Serendipity Hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. Located in a very lively district in the city center but in a quiet street, well equipped functional room (air conditioning, shower, safe, towels) and silent. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. The desk service people were very helpful, offering for example milk and cerial for our daughter in the evening (gratis). Also, after we had already checked out, they were kind enough as we returned from a 2day cruise, to not only let us stay in the lobby/dining area, but also offered us tea/coffee and milk, and room access in case we wanted to take a shower (gratis).

A really nice hotel! The room was very clean, clean and fresh towels provided daily. The staff is very friendly and happy to help you around the town and offer assistance for little tour or help you further your travel plans and Breakfast is more than fine! Plenty of choice you can choose from a menu: pancakes, toast, bread and then you choose your toppings there (some 10 options, from simple jam or cheese .. Until omelette with bacon and boiled eggs or scrambled eggs) Location is also great, walking distance to all hotpots in Hanoi. Overall a great hotel and good value.

Good Place to Stay in Hanoi

Enjoyed my stay at this hotel as it is extremely value for money given its quality. What I really like about it is that it's located along a side street away from the main road, which is a good respite from the traffic and the noise. It is also centrally located in the Hoan Kiem district, and there are many good food places around the hotel. The staff were also very accommodating and helpful.

Excellent stay at Serendipity Hotel

We stayed 3 nights at Serendipity and were greeted wonderfully well in this hotel. The staff is very caring and very attentive. The hotel is clean and very well located in the old city in a street with little traffic allowing to rest from the noise and crowds of the old town. Good breakfast to all the people. The hotel staff wa absolutely amazing and helpful. We booked two tours through them an they gave us recommendations for places to eat. They even let us stay in a room for a few hours and use the shower after both our tours, and have breakfast even tho we only paid for our first night there. I would recommend them to anyone and would definitely stay there again.

Small hotel in a relatively quiet side street

We booked a triple room for our family of 4 thinking the kids (10 and 7) would have to share a single bed, when we arrived the hotel manager offered to set up an extra bed and made our stay a lot more comfortable. The rooms are clean and good size, they offered and freshly prepared several items for breakfast beside fresh fruit, juice, tea or coffee. We originally booked 2 nights and ended staying 3. The staff was friendly and always helpful. The manager walked us to the nearest bank machine the first night. Everyone had a smile and friendly greeting at all times. They kept our luggage safe during our Halong Bay cruise, hold our luggage while we went for supper and called a reliable taxi to take us to the train station. Overall a good stay in a busy city.

We stayed 3 nights in total at Hanoi Serendipity. It was a bit crazy when we first got there to check in, but we were early so we left our bags and went for a walk around the neighbourhood. Location is very handy and reasonably quiet and a few streets from Hoan Kiem lake, close to the Cathedral. Quite a few eateries of varying standard in the immediate area with great food. Hotel room itself was more than satisfactory for the price range. Yes, the bed was a bit hard and the bathroom small, but clean and tidy and functional for a short city stay (and the aircon worked well). Breakfast was quite ok, not a huge selection but certainly enough to get you moving in the morning. Staff were very friendly and personable - Lilly in the mornings and Henry in the evenings. Tony the manager was very helpful to us when we had a disappointing tour to Halong Bay with a company that were recommended - certainly not the hotel's fault but Tony was quick to make phone calls to sort out the problems and we were very satisfied with the outcome. We would certainly stay here again if we were to visit Hanoi again.

This hotel had the best price for what I was looking for. The entire hotel was very clean and the WIFI was fast and FREE (there was also a computer in the room to use, also free). The kept bottles of water in our room as well, I can't tell you how a small gesture of having water waiting for you can make a huge difference. I also used their laundry service, I dropped my clothes off in the morning and they were there when I got back that night for an exceptionally cheap price. The staff was beyond courteous and on more than one occasion helped us plan our day. They even helped us choose a spa where we were able to get a great deal for a day of relaxation. Really a top-notch hotel that I highly recommend.

Quality Hotel

This hotel is located right in the most interesting and busy area of Hanoi where everyday you can find something new to enjoy. While there, I observed all walks of people traveling and staying at the hotel. The staff was extremely personable and spoke English well. They were always willing to accommodate our requests. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and extremely reasonably priced for a great deal and quality stay. Despite the hustle and bustle of Hanoi, the hotel was very quiet. It felt safe walking about alone in the streets surrounding the hotel. Breakfast was great and included many options with local influence but also diverse enough to meet the tastes of the many travelers. They offered all kinds of services, including booking spa outings and trips. I would highly recommend this hotel to families, young and older couples, students and anyone else looking to authentically experience Hanoi while feeling safe and comfortable.

The staff at the Serendipity and their sister hotel, Trung Nam Hai, are very good. The staff are very attentive and eager to make guests happy. We made a mistake with our online booking and the hotel staff was eager to correct it and make us happy. We had to stay in the sister hotel, Trung Nam Hai, which is just around the corner from Serendipity, but it wasn't a problem at all. The hotel is centrally located in the Old Quarter. The only negative thing is that our window couldn't open and faced a wall, so our room got very humid after showers and the humidity didn't decrease with the use of the AC.

Good location -- walking distance to everything while somehow being pretty quiet in the midst of bustling Hanoi.

Room was fine. Clean, with everything you may need. Bed was hard, but they seem hard everywhere in Vietnam.

Staff was excellent as everyone has stated. Their in-house travel agency was very good. Prices were fair. They arranged a flight, cab and Halong Bay cruise for us and it was very hassle free. Saved us a lot of time.The cruise was with V'Spirit, which had exceptional meals. Probably one of the best bang for buck deals for Halong Bay cruises.
Overall, for the price you pay serendipity is tough to beat.

客室に前に宿泊した方の飲み物の飲み残しが置いたままだった。
シャワーから急にお湯が出なくなり凍えそうになった。
また門限があり、24時から翌朝7時まで出入りすることができないと言われました。
バルコニーも鍵がかかっていて出られず、タバコを吸う方や、夜遅くまで旅を楽しみたい方には不向きです。
スタッフ2人のうち、若い方の接客が素晴らしかっただけにこの評価をしないといけないのが残念です。

Dans les faits, l’hôtel est propre, la chambre parfaitement nettoyé, un personnel sympathique et un petit-déjeuner buffet très bon.
De l’autre côté, on m’a donné la chambre la plus pourrie : la plus petite, éclairée en pleine nuit comme en plein jour car l’enseigne néon est sous la fenêtre, avec des centaines de mouches d’humidité, un wifi qui ne marchait pas, un coffre fort en panne, une télécommande qui ne commande pas la climatisation.
Tout cela alors que j’avais pris une chambre exécutive et que le bonus VIP devait me permettre d’être surclassé en cas de disponibilité. Il a fallu que je me fâche pour qu’on le change de chambre et obtenir une chambre standard. Ils se sont moqués du client, c’est INACCEPTABLE !
