Amazing Hotel in the heart of Ha Noi

We loved our stay at the Golden Moon! It’s in a great location within walking distance to practically anything we wanted. Lily was amazing and helped us book a trip to Ha Long Bay, as well as provide airport accommodation. Everyone we interacted with was extremely kind and helpful. Front desk staff SoLong was so very helpful nd had a great memory. She would remember what time you were to be picked up and where you were going. She was able to track down a phone number and male calls for us when we were missing the info on our booking. Elevator is great when you have luggage, easy to get around from this location

Cute hotel in a great location!

I enjoyed staying here! The room was super clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a buffet plus a made to order entree - both pretty good. The staff are at the reception 24/7 which was helpful for our 4am check out. The hotel is in a cute alleyway surrounded by a bunch of restaurants and a 10 minute walk from the lake and bustling streets. Would recommend!

Great location and value for money

The staff here were super kind and attentive. We had a big comfortable room which was spotlessly clean. The neighbourhood had all the charm of the old quarter without the madness of the main tourist area. Breakfast was good and the view over the city from the rooftop was great.

Small Hotel, minutes walk from casual and high end dining. Bed was comfortable, we had a suite which had a queen and single bed. Breakfast room only has four tables so probably not suitable for big groups.

Great room, great service. The bathroom was covered with glass, good for romantic couples. There are shades too so it's fine if you are not couple.

The receptionist knows English and even some basic Chinese. Met the owner of the hotel, he was friendly and polite.

Great bed, good TV and writing table provided. Complimentary G7 coffee and bottled water are provided too. The door was slightly hard to close but that's alright. Our sleep was good, not much noise.

Location is good too, around 10 to 15 minutes walk to Hoan Kiem Lake. The Bun Cha downstairs was nice too. Lot's of food around.

However, one small downside was that the transport of the hotel sent us to the wrong airport (we were flying domestic but the driver sent us to the international airport). We were so shocked to find that we were at the wrong airport with tight schedule. Had to take another taxi to the domestic airport. Probably just a miscommunication between the hotel and the driver. Do take note that domestic and international airport is different if you are flying at Hanoi airport.

Hidden treasure!

The hotel is normally not front loaded in most searches but it's really a good find!. When you first arrive, they surprise you with a welcome drink, serving of fruits and chilled towels. Such a pleasant experience. Room looked just like in the photos. Chambermaid diligently iron the bed sheets, clean up the room. Toilet is clean, bright and fresh looking. Breakfast spread is wide-ranging. You get to choose 2 items and there is a buffet spread of bread, fruits, yohgurt, cooked items and drinks..

My OH and I stayed 1-6 December. The location is in the heart of the old quarter, a 5 min walk from the water puppets and lots of nightlife. Like most hotels in the area is quite small but what it lacks in size it makes up for with the most lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Miss Lily and all the other people who work there seem to do whatever they can to make your stay an enjoyable one. A great choice of breakfast as well. They also arrange trips, we did The Bai Dinh and Tran Ahn visit, a great day out. I would recommend to all who want to stay in Hanoi.

This is a small independent hotel in a central location in the old quarter, run by staff who are friendly and helpful. The common areas like the stairway ( there is a lift also) need a bit of decoration but my room was clean and pleasant with a modern shower room. They serve a good breakfast on the top floor with views over the city. I have no complaints at all given that this is not a luxury priced hotel.

The staff are excellent and the hotel is in a great location. If you are on a budget and don't plan to spend much time in your room, it's fine. However, the cleanliness didn't quite meet my expectations. There were ants on the walls and stains on the towels. I'd personally spend a little more for a more comfortable room.

Hotel is centrally located in the old quarter it is within walikng distance of lots of shopping and restaurants and not too far form the lake and night market. Breakfast is served each morning on the roof, so you have a good breakfast with a view. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the help us book the rest of our trip in Vietnam, great service.

Fantastic little hotel in the Old Quarter

This hotel made our experience of Hanoi pleasant. Although my partner and I disliked Hanoi compared to the other parts of Vietnam we had visited, this hotel was a saving grace. We were first greeted by very friendly and polite staff who had produced a birthday cake for my partner who had mentioned a few months before when booking that it was her birthday. This was totally unexpected and a wonderful surprise on our arrival. The receptionist gave us a useful map of all of the key locations in Hanoi and advised us of the best places to visit.

Hotel was located in an alley but the staff greeted us from the main road. We were given welcome drinks and check in was smooth. Although room was a little small, it is clean and tidy. The staff including the waitress who served us breakfast were polite and friendly. We booked our Halong Bay and Tam Coc tour through the hotel as well. Location of the hotel is excellent. Generally a pleasant trip.

The location of this hotel is perfect, in a quite alley right in the center of the old quarter, close to everything. The stuff were so nice and helpful, doing their best to give you a good experience. The room is a bit small, but has everything one needs. It is clean, the bed is comfortable, WiFi and air-conditioner work very good. The breakfast was also delicious.

Small room, fine hotel and location

There are hundreds of this sort of small hotel in the old city, and we were happy with this choice. The room was high quality, though small, and weirdly the bathroom is separated from the rest of the room with a glass wall. (Thankfully there is a blind you can lower.) Abundant hot water, pretty good rooftop breakfast (try the French toast), and really friendly lobby staff who helped us find good food and massage. Very fair price for taxi to and from the airport, non-ripoff laundry service, overall a very good deal.

Great Locatiom, Great Staff and Great Value

We arrived in Hanoi as our first stop in Vietnam. There was so many unknowns and concerns about traveling to an unfamiliar destination. The first is usually accommodations.

While this is not a hotel that is typical in terms of western hotels, this was very typical of hotels in Vietnam.

The hotel was smaller than it seemed in the pictures, but that was of no concern. We were warmly greeted. with our arrival being so early, our rooms weren't quite ready, but they were able to accommodate us with one room.

The staff were always so kind and friendly. The free breakfast was wonderful, a nice selection of fresh fruit and a small made-to-order menu was great after having a nice bowl of pho! The top floor solarium served as the dining area and made for a nice escape in the morning.

The alleyway of the hotel was an amazing chameleon which went from a fresh meat market in the morning to fruit and vegetables in the afternoon to a dark quiet alley at night. Very interesting.

Location was perfect for walking and exploring the Old Quarter. So much fun to adventure!

The daily breakfast wasn't the best we had in Vietnam, but it was okay. The hotel itself seems really small, especially the breakfast room, but the actual rooms were a decent size and very well presented. The only thing this hotel is missing is somewhere to have a drink or any food other than breakfast.

This is a small guesthouse run with real warmth and enthusiasm. The staff really couldn't do more to please us and we felt so welcome. The facilities are simple but everything works and the location is very central to the old Quarter of Hanoi. Our room was small but ok for a short stay. Wonderful Stay

A lovely hotel in the middle of Hanoi's Old Quarter, a short walk to the lake, we walked to most historical/tourist attractions from here. Outside - a plethora of shops and restaurants mingling with the everyday life of Hanoi that spills out on to its streets and lanes, inside the hotel is lovely and quiet. Our standard room was lovely - aircon, a big bed with nice linen, lighting choices, complimentary water, room to relax and a beautiful glass walled bathroom (a nifty blind ensured bathroom privacy) with a raindrop or hand held shower with piping hot water. The staff could not do enough for us - a cool drink and fruit during check in, they carried our bags to and from our room/the lift, daily breakfast was excellent. They arranged well priced taxis for us at no extra cost/gave drivers instructions if needed, if we stayed longer we would have done a tour or two from their tour desk. We will return, we felt happy and refreshed here.

Great staff make this hotel special

We were so warmly welcomed at Golden Moon and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. They were quick to tell us the best places in the area for food and places to visit.

Our room was nice, as expected, though the air conditioner wasn't as cold as others in previous hotels we stayed in. It was a bit warm in the room at night, and we had a few issues with hot water, but these were minor problems.

I would recommend this hotel for its great location and caring staff.

We only stayed one night but the service was second to none. After an early flight to Hanoi, we were allowed to store our luggage and check in to our room several hours early. The room was modern and comfortable. Jay booked our overnight tour to Halong Bay the following day which was great. On our return, we were able to store our luggage there again while we went out for dinner, he then made his office available for us to await our overnight bus to Hue (which he also booked for us at no commission). I highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Hanoi and I will def be back next time :)
