We checked in around 2.30pm , the receptionist was very friendly , we were given our room card - room on 7th floor , the hall ways were extremely narrow and had a horrible odor which I can only describe as urine, when we got to the room it was a very small box room with one bed .. I had requested 2 on the booking as travelling with my son in his 20,s .this was rectified by housekeeping splitting the bed into two . As we opened the door to the room the door hit the bed so could not open it fully.
The room was dirty , dirty sheets , dead flowers and we could not see through the fridge / mini bar! Glass door as it was so dirty.. the glass bathroom door hinges were broken, meaning it only opened a quarter of the way making it difficult to squeeze through. It felt like if you forced it, it would smash the glass and bits from the hinges were chipping off. We reported this to reception who checked it and apologized saying , just force it . She offered a room swap - to a room with no windows !!. She commented that she didn’t want us to get hurt !. The shower tiles were chipped and there was mold on the ceilings . Then the lift broke , meaning we had to climb 7 flights of stairs , which was not ideal as my son has a disability. They were banging around in the lift at 22.30 pm .
We decided to leave this hotel at around 23.00pm as did not feel safe in many ways. We had to book somewhere else .

A fantastic place to stay! The hotel is right in the heart of the old district and close to the sights we wanted to view, the room was very clean and comfortable, and all the staff are friendly and helpful. Helen in particular went of her way to not only greet us warmly but enquired about our plans (we didn't really have any) and not only put together an itinerary but also linked me on WhatsApp in case we had any issues or questions (plenty of questions, always quickly and politely answered in detail). Outstanding service, will definitely stay again. :)

The staff at this hotel made me feel very welcome and the location was great. The restaurant across the alley had the best peanut butter coffee frappe!
Aside from this the hotel was not the greatest. The tub had weird bumps at the bottom and it was best to shower with sandals on. The included breakfast had drinks that were not fresh and a small selection of eggs and toast.
I would go back if the renovated.

A good place to stay in Old Quarter

We like our stay at this place. It's located off a busy street, still central in Old Quarter. Building is not new, but well-kept and clean. We were offered an early check-in, which, after long trip, was very appreciated. Our room was nice, not-so-big, but sizeable, with very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Breakfast was tasty, with variety of options. Extremely nice and helpful reception people, speaking good English.

Would easily stay here again. If I could give a higher rating than excellent for the staff I would, they are what makes this jotel. It is an old property, but very handy for everything and the breakfast, which is included, was excellent.

Perfect stay for exploring The Old Quarter!

This hotel was good value for money and situated in an ideal spot for sight seeing in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. Only complaint was that the breakfast was poor, but there was a wonderful cafe restaurant opposite which catered for our needs.

We had a very nice stay at Little Hanoi. The staff was very kind and helpful the whole time. They were easy to communicate with and ask questions to. They also helped us when need for communicating with tours, getting to the airport, and figuring where to go or what to do. They checked up on us and made sure we were satisfied. The hotel itself is in a great location and we basically walked everywhere we wanted to go. The breakfast was good and had enough options for us. We were comfortable staying there while visiting Hanoi.

Absolutely loved our stay at this small hotel. The property is located in a quiet corner of the Old Quarter. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was pleasant. In particular Emily and Hien. They booked us an excursion to Ha Long Bay/Cat Bar Island (which I highly recommend). As it's about 3 hours of bus rides and ferries to get to Cat Bar Island, we would have to depart before breakfast was ready. The staff went out and bought items for our breakfast the night before so that we wouldn't have to leave the hotel on an empty stomach. The staff was always ready to help whenever we needed them. If I ever return to Hanoi, I will definitely be staying there.

Staff were very attentive and friendly. Location is good but a little noisy and the laneway can get a bit smelly as it has lots of good vendors.
The room we had was big but the smell of dampness gets overwhelming and I found my clothes also smelt like this afterwards. Can’t be helped I guess given the age of the buildings but got me personally it’s not something I can deal with .
If you’re not precious like me, it’s probably not a bad spot to stay.

First night in Hanoi before going to Sapa the next day morning. Friendly receptionist. We had quite a lot of luggage. But luckily, there is a small elevator. Breakfast is too simple. There is no shampoo and body wash in the bathroom. Towel is clean though.

Big buses or vans cant stop at the road

We went Sapa and came back to Hanoi and chose back the same hotel. Because the hotel is located in an alley outside the road which is a one-way narrow road, big buses or vans cant stop there for long as there be a big jam. The driver didnt want to drop us near our hotel and we end up dragging our luggage to the small alley. The front desk receptionist is friendly and helpful though.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It's not a big chain hotel. It's owned by a couple and a friend! The hotel is located in an alleyway so cars will not be able to get in. We booked tours and the tour guides will come to the door to take us to the bus. It was really convenient! It's in a great location. It was close to everything. We spent 2 days walking around. Easy to get to Beer street, Train street, lakes and museums. The staff were so accomodating. Mr. Ha stayed up for our late check in, helped us with our luggage and gave us a welcome drink. On the last day, we stored our luggage and after walking around in the heat, he offered us showers before heading to the airport! Mai makes really good breakfasts. Great selection. Phuong was always so happy. She was a delight to see first thing in the morning. We appreciated their kindness and generosity very much. Bed was also very comfortable and the shower/bath tub was great! We got free bottles of water everyday. Could not recommend this hotel enough.

I didn't expect it to be in the alley way. Good job it was at the start otherwise I would have a problem with my luggages. However, this would be perfect for those with small luggages and bags/ backpackers. Location wise it was very convienent with many shops surrounding.

There were a few laundry stains on towels and beddings but not a big deal as you can tell they were laundry stains and nothing major. If you ask, I'm sure one of the ladies will happily change it for you as I asked for a new towel too.

The staff were very friendly and amazing. They had plenty of recommendations and their level of english is greater than many parts of Vietnam.

For the price, this hotel was ok but we would definitely not stay here again. The room smelled of mildew, there was mold on the headboard and our clothes smelled after being in the room. Towels were stained, had holes and smelled bad. There was no hand soap or enough toilet paper in the bathroom. The hotel seems disheveled with stuff stacked up in hallways and the lobby. Positives: good location. The guy who checked us in was friendly.

like so many hotels on this site.. the photos are of the hotel but are NOT a true representation... its tiny and ild. the room is a good size but the only window opens onto and internal stairwell. the shower tiles are quite mouldy. the breakfast was changed daily but each day the options where less and less untill the only option was two fried eggs on white sliced bread. we found out later it was because the owner was trying to save money by cooking breakfast himself. NOW as for the owner... RUDE. from the bad breakfast to him forgetting to book our car to the airport which he charged us US$22 For. WHICH LEFT US RUNNING FOR OUR FLIGHT. he is typical rude North Viet old man

Unfortunately there was lots of issues during my stay. The only positive was the location. They were updating the breakfast area so breakfast was delivered to the room however every morning this was wrong, which was a frustrating and had to wait another 30-40 mins for a replacement. One morning I ordered a chicken sandwich, I received lettuce and tomatoes on bread! I was also given no cutlery serval times. Then the problems got worse. The wifi was so slow it was pointless using it, the hot water in the shower kept going on and off and one night I had no hot water at all until the next evening. The same night my electricity went off at 10pm and wasn’t moved room till midnight. This was so frustrating as I had a tour at 7am the next morning and a 7 year old. I was refunded for my taxi to the airport but that was $15 which I just don’t feel justified the amount of inconveniences I had.

The staff helped us to book our trips for our stay during our time in Hanoi, and their recommendations were fantastic.

My fiance and I had previously stayed in 5 star hotels in Ho Chi Minh, and in our opinion, this was our favorite hotel. It misses the \"amenities\" that must be a requirement for a 5-star designation, but it felt like they were really looking out for us and the room was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Staff members are friendly and willing to help their guests. The customer service of every single member was excellent. Especially, the front desk ladies speak good Enlgish that made my stay there more comfortable.
Of course, the room itself was spacious and clean. Also the breakfasts were amazing including coffee, freshly cooked chicken rice noodle soup, omellet and fresh fruits.
I and my husband really enjoyed our stay at Little Hanoi Deluxe Hotel after a terrible booking accident in other hotel nearby.

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Particularly Zoe, Ann, Hero and Dong, who greeted us with mango juice and fresh fruit and gave us lots of great advice. We were made to feel really special. The hotel was very quiet despite being bang in the middle of the old quarter with so many restaurants and shops on your doorstep.
Walking distance from Hoan Kiem lake, St. Joseph's cathedral, Hoa Lo prison museum, the Women's museum and the opera House. We'd certainly recommend this hotel and if we return to Hanoi we won't look any further than the Little Hanoi Deluxe.

We stayed at the Little Hanoi Deluxe Hotel in June/July ‘19. This quaint yet beautiful hotel was the perfect fit. The staff are 6 star, they are super attentive to your every personal needs. They liased with the airport to find our lost luggage. They booked all our tours and every one was excellent. They packed takeaway packs of fruit and bottled water to take and made sure we were up to date with all changes. Breakfast was plentiful with a buffet AND cook to order menu offered. The room was perfect with lots of cupboard space, clean, plenty of toiletries, great size bathroom and lovely personal note left on bed each evening. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

Little is their name but high is their spirit.

It is Hanoi so it will very busy but hotel is situated in a very quiet side street. First, the staff will do their utmost to be of service to you, nothing is too much asking. As we agreed, they cannot compete with larger international places but their attitude make the difference. When in Hanoi for a few nights, that's the place to stay.

A lovely little hotel in the old quarter and close to most things you’ll want to see. The staff here are exceptional and go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and safe. The location of the hotel is good. Walking distance to the sights in the old quarter. The bathroom had ants and a bad smell, but that was taken care of by the staff the next day. The standard of the room was ok, but it's a little worn out. It was not that fresh and new. The beds were firm but good enough for 2 nights of sleeping. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and we received a nice parting gift of coffee. Very good budget accommodations.

I picked this place when I saw that they were highly rated on travel sites. Well they surely did not disappoint. The rooms are just as you see them online and the location just can't be beat. The hotel is 4 minutes walk from Hoan Kiem Lake and just a short distance from Hanoi's other top tourist attractions including the Old Quarter.

The hotel's staff were extremely helpful weeks before I even checked in. They answered all off my questions promptly via email about my upcoming trip and gave me such helpful travel tips since I was traveling to Vietnam for the first time.

They helped arrange my airport transfers, tour to Halong Bay and even got my tickets to the Water Puppet show in advance so I can skip the line and have great assigned seats. The airport transfers would've cost me the same thing if I took a taxi or Grab so a private car with someone there waiting for me when I arrived was one less important thing to worry about and stress over since I read so much horror stories about tourists getting cheated by unscrupulous airport transport operators. Everything went without a hitch. That's all thanks to the hotel staff who were all so exceptionally attentive and friendly all throughout my stay. As someone who travels quite frequently, I can tell that they pay absolute attention to the needs of their guests which I found to be quite impressive.

I've already shared the word with friends and hope travelers who read this review decide to stay at Little Hanoi Deluxe.

Staff are very client oriented, unfailingly courteous and go out of their way to look out for guest's welfare. Despite my late evening arrival they arranged hot pho soup to be delivered to my room. They offered hot ginger tea for my persistent cough.

Service is taken to another level considering the hotel's reasonable prices. I was gifted a small drip sieve and coffee upon departing as well boxed cut fruit for my train ride. I doubt there's a task too small for them to do.

Top that off with a great location in the old quarter where a panoply of street vendors parade by the hotel entrance. There's an excellent restaurant nearby serving signature 'bun bo nam bo' - a vermicelli noodle dish served with grilled marinated beef, fresh vegetables, some pickled carrot and a lightly spiced ‘nuoc cham’ broth - $3 a bowl. Also very close are 2 very good massage spas.

Put it all together and you have an exceptional value hotel.

One minor issue; hotel wi-fi service was spotty which is not uncommon at most hotels. I'd suggest buying a Vietnamese SIM card for your smartphone. I set up a hot spot with smart phone to use with my computer.

The reason for the amazing reviews of this place is the incredible staff. They all regularly go above and beyond expectations-- helped us book a luxury cruise at Halong Bay on short notice, puppet show tickets so we didn't have to stand in line, car service to and from hotel, etc. They were just great! The rooms are fine, clean enough...I wasn't thrilled how close the bathrooms were to beds...(not overwhelmingly close, but still smaller rooms), the buffet breakfast is decent. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation. Thank you!!!

Friendly service, clean room but animal sounds

Staff were friendly, service was great they packed us fruit when we checked out for our halong bay tour and gave us a phin+coffee souvenir. Breakfast was good. The room and bathroom was clean and spacious enough. Could hear the next door people but thankfully they weren't too loud at night. It was comfortable until I turned off the lights late at night and heard loud scurrying sounds from the ceiling (had a top floor room). Heard the animals and squeaking sounds intermittently throughout the night, thankfully they were just outside the building and not in the room, no surprise there are animals at night in the city. Though I was a bit freaked out when I saw the AC cord came from the ceiling so there was a decent size hole around that cord and I was afraid whatever was on the ceiling could crawl through the hole, but it didn't *whew*. If you are afraid of rodents/animals, then I do not recommend the top floor rooms...

A beautiful little hotel in the heart of Hanoi with the best service of anywhere we stayed in Vietnam. We were welcomed with tea and fruit, beautiful room decorations for our honeymoon and a lovely letter wishing us luck in our married life for the New Year. Amy organised airport transfer and a Halong Bay day cruise for us. All the staff were so friendly, we’ll come back to stay here in a heartbeat.

I chose this hotel because of its location and it did not disappoint. I stayed here 11 nights in total and felt very comfortable as a solo female walking around the area. The staff is exceptional, quick to respond to any requests. The pillows are also exceptional!

We recently had a wondetful 4 nights 5 days stay at Little Hanoi Deluxe hotel. The location is within walking distance to the lake, weekend night market, the cathedral and there are many eateries, spas and sourvenir shops nearby too. Megan and Annie were excellent in their service to the guests. Annie even contacted us through whatsapp prior to our arrival to ask if we required airport transfer.It was such a pleasant surprise to receive her text. She was also on duty during breakfast the few mornings we were there and provided good service with a smile. The breakfast spread was good and we could place additional orders like egg benedict,scrambled eggs, beef noodle soup, fried noodles etc. Annie was very friendly and I enjoyed talking to her. Megan, who checked us in and out went the extra mile of receiving us from the street outside the hotel when we arrived and helped us with our luggage.She even packed some fruits and mineral water for our day trips to Halong Bay. I am truly impressed by their excellent and very personal service standard to their guests. Though our room is small, it was cosy enough and most importantly, the service staff was excellent and that made our shor stay in Hanoi memorable!

Our stay at Little Hanoi Deluxe Hotel was great! We came here during our trip for our honeymoon, and this little hotel in Hanoi's old quarter did not disappoint. The room and the hotel is clean and excellently located. What really stood out was the staff though. Everyone was really attentive and went above and beyond. A new employee who welcomed us, Hiro (sp?) was great and provided us with a guide of things to do and \"how to survive\" in Hanoi which was amazing!

We stayed in Little Hanoi Deluxe for 2 separate nights. First night, i check in the hotel at around 1pm. The hotel is tucked away in a small alley and usually the cabs will drop u off at the main road and u have to walk about 1 to 2 mins into the alley to find the hotel. Not difficult to find. The hotel is located near many spas, restaurants, cafes, nd also many small shops selling interesting Vietnam handicrafts. We were warmly welcome upon arrival and the check in was fuss free.. i only provided my name and the hotel staff found my booking in no time. we were presented with welcome drink and towel and our luggage was brought up to our room. There is only 1 small lift in the building and a spiral narrow staircase. The lobby is small and cosy. On our first night, we stayed in a family room and to be frank, the room looks better in pictures. But it was very clean, beds were very comfortable, the toilet looks a bit outdated, there were some stains on the tiles and on the taps/shower looks a bit old. the water pressure is just reasonable for such a small hotel. on our 2nd night, we were upgraded to a family suite and that room was much nicer, much bigger, and the washroom was newer and more pleasing. The hotel provides buffet breakfast and everything is delcious and the staff was very accomodating and provides a wide assortment of ala carte items for you to order. We enjoyed the breakfast very much.The hotel staff are all very service oriented and friendly.

Best little hotel in the old quarter, great breakfast and even better service. Stayed four nights and definitely would stay again. Can’t begin to tell you how well you are treated here, but as an example; I was craving a banh-mi one night and knew the store was about to close, the staff called and ordered my sandwich then took me down on a motorbike to get it. You will not be disappointed here.

Our group of 8 used the Little Hanoi Deluxe as a base for a 3-week trip to Vietnam - arriving and leaving from there and stopping off between trips to other parts of the country.

The staff were universally excellent and helpful, going well beyond the call of duty in helping us with travel arrangements, providing advice and recommendations for Hanoi itself, and generally keeping our elderly and befuddled party organised.

This was one of most special hotels I have ever stayed at. The location is central but hectic being in the old quarter! The most amazing this about this hotel is the staff. From remembering our itinerary to our names, the staff here genuinely want to make your trip to Hanoi special rather than only your time at the hotel.

All staff members were amazing but specifically Megan and Henry went above and beyond. Absolutely loved my time at the little Hanoi Deluxe and would recommend this gorgeous little hotel to anyone. Thanks again to all staff members for making our holiday so special
