The staff was excellent: attentive, friendly, and respectful 24 hours a day. The hotel has a recycling chute/bin in the hall which is a plus in my book. And the lobby coffee maker grinds the beans for fresh coffee. Parking is limited, but we always found a spot. Luggage carts are limited; we had to wait for one when checking out on a Sunday. The front desk was very understanding about our delay.
The room was nice overall, well laid out and a great view. But it had a few problems. There was no hot water in the shower when we arrived. We had to wait for maintenance to come fix it, twice. There is no conventional oven in the kitchen, just a microwave/convection combo, which I've never used (convection) before. It also lacked basic kitchen necessities like a cutting board and a decent frying pan for eggs. It was stainless, and no matter what I try, the eggs stick to the pan. The heater kept heating even when turned down to 60 (min) so we turned it off. In February. But more problematically, the bed was uncomfortable: soft, with big dips where people had slept before us. Also, it was billed as a queen bed. I have a queen bed at home, and this was smaller.
The biggest problem, though, was lack of soundproofing. The place was almost empty the first two nights, and we slept okay, But the second two nights, we were kept awake by the conversations of the people next door, people slamming doors elsewhere in the hallway, and people talking in the hallway. The overall property was clean and nicely decorated, the staff was friendly and professional, but the bed's mattress was very old, worn out with a huge sunken hole covering the majority of the mattress. The mattress was hard and completely worn out. At 6pm the shower had no hot water, the temperature was barely warm and by the emptiness of the parking lot I would say the hotel was not packed and there should have been plenty of hot water. Even the sink in the bathroom did not have hot water the next morning. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty and climbing out of the shower to get soap from the sink dispenser was required. Over all is was a very nice place to stay, but the mattress kept us awake until 3am and never did get a restful sleep. The mattress was ridiculously old, worn out!!!

There was a roach in our room when we got there. There are rats running around all around the building. No one informed us that they will be doing construction and they were hammering and beating on things all night long and all day. Staff was cooking food with curry in it that stunk up the whole hallway the whole time we were there because they left the doors open to their rooms. Other staff would be standing outside our room arguing loudly with people on the phone.

We were there in the middle of the winter. Nice and quiet, great views, great room options, plenty of parking spots and easy access to unload from the parking garage to our room. Do wish they had a special discount for adjoining suites for a family getaway. We also wonder how the parking would be during the busy summer season. We have stayed in the same room 2 years in a row and love it!

I always choose this hotel because it feels as close to home, The staff is very accommodating, I had a minor issue and they went above and beyond to help me especially TJ, Akeem and the manager on duty I think her name was Denise, but my phone wasn’t getting great reception so I couldn’t really here when she introduced herself, I apologize! There was another maintenance man that helped and I didn’t get his name!

Beach view was great. Been staying there since 2019, except for 2020. Was going down last year but even m ore this year. Tile floors were chipped or cracked, had to run hot water 30-45 sec for it to get warm in all faucets and shower, shower water fluctuated during the shower from comfortable to cold to hot. Veneer on dining room chairs war peeling It really need updating. I will be finding a new place next year. It's a shame because it's at a great location on the oceanfront.

Ocean Sands is my favorite place to relax and enjoy family time. The room was spotless, spacious and quiet. We sat on the balcony and enjoyed the dolphins playing in the ocean. The Neptune Festival was amazing with SEVERAL vendors with excellent deals. All of the staff were pleasant and very helpful. See you at Thanksgiving!

However, the rooms have now been renovated since I was last there and the room was very inefficient...
In the bathroom, there is no counter space to place a makeup/cosmetic bag or man's shaving kit bag. There are no longer any cabinets underneath the sink to place anything.
There are wall light fixtures in the sitting room that are on the wall on either side of the TV at the ceiling level. Those are the only light fixtures that have USB ports, very inefficient, no where to charge phones, iPads, etc. unless you bring your own USB ports.
No end tables on either side of the one sofa in the room. Place your drinks, phones, E-readers, etc. on the floor.

Why are there so few plugs in 2025? I had to pull out furniture to have my phone (also my alarm) charge in the bedroom. The WiFi was super shaky (off and on the whole time). Front desk didn’t answer when I called. Staff wasn’t terribly friendly. I thought the place was fairly clean, until I moved furniture looking for a plug.

The location right on the Ocean was Great, but the carpet was very dirty, there was a stain on the couch, there were little nets in the room(most likely the drains), the gym had a spray bottle and rags to wipe down the equipment before and after use.

The hotel is very dated. Our room was not very clean. We also had issues with the balcony door lock and the toilet wasnt working properly. Bathroom sink was slow. There was no soap in the shower either. We notified the front desk. Soap was fixed. They said they fixed the toilet, but it still wasnt working. Told us the lock for the balcony was just the latch..even though there are directions on the door.

We have stayed at other hotels on different beaches, most people say it’s outdated but compared to others I would say it’s about the same. The room was clean the bed was comfortable and the location was next to where they do free concerts. There was street preformers, a small grocery store across the street and the staff was very friendly. Not a 5 star but we didn’t expect it to be. Staying there again I would say absolutely.

There was trash next to the trashcan in the bathroom on arrival. The bathroom didn't scream clean, the hotel in general felt more Super 8 then beach resort. Did see a cockroach in the hall as we were going to the elevator to get to our car after checking out. Staff were decent, they did try to push some time share meeting junk on us, which is weird. Also they seem to have some weird obsession with mirrors, there was an almost full wall mirror in the main room and the bathroom had 3 different mirrors in it. One was above the toilet, waist height to ceiling. Also lighting in the room was mid. There was 2 light switches that did apperently nothing. Lastly the power outlet placement in the bedroom was terrible, on one side of the bed you had to move the nightstand to plug in a charger cause the outlet was near the floor. Even Super 8 can afford plugs on top of the nightstands. I shouldn't have to bring my own power strip to put my phone on the nightstand. Not worth the price at all,

Nice hotel and a really good location. Flew in and Uber'd to the accomodation and was really happy with how walkable everything was. Staff are very friendly and helpful. My one complaint would be the elevator - above the 6th floor you use the far away elevator and its also used by staff for their errands/jobs so at times you can wait an exceptionally long time to get down from the higher floors. Its a minor inconvenience though and barely a blot on a lovely stay away. Would visit the area again.

The room is not updated. Took some pictures of issues with the room immediately and went to the front desk with them. Toilet paper roll holder was missing, dented refrigerator. Found that the jets on the tub did not work, and the room wasn’t very clean. View was great.

4 Nights Family Vacation
We stay for 4 nights in this vacation hotel, ocean sands beach front. We love the accommodation. You can cook. The only thing that needed to upgrade is the kitchen tools.. very cheap plastic.. can we have more appropriate kitchen utensils. Safer to use, greener.. small kitchen but its fine for family of 4. The living room with sofa bed and ceiling fan is ok. There is table for 4 and a big TV. In the bedroom, there is a Queen bed.. TV, closet for clothes. The best i love is the beachfront when we wake up we see the beach and the sunrise. There is a balcony. The only thing that needed to be change is the carpet.. its old and the sofa bed is old as well. The room is clean, no roaches and flies.. The hallway is clean. We are in 11th floor.. There is an aircon in the hallway. The issues is the elevator which is very slow.. I can understand because it is frequently use. There is an indoor swimming pool.. kind of small. The parking is safe and included in the rate. I got a 1 free night since i got to sign up with this vacation package. Hoping to come back very soon. I love VB..

My only concern is limited parking for larger vehicles. The resort does try to reserve areas for larger vehicles but a lot of times small cars park for days which makes it impossible for trucks to park. I would suggest monitoring and contacting smaller vehicle owners to ask them to move their vehicle.

The property was very nice, great views. Staff was very friendly & helpful. We had an outlet stop working & they fixed it right away. The restaurant in the hotel is amazing we visited a few times. The only complaint we had was that the floors were really dirty. You had to wear shoes or socks at all times because your feet would get black. But overall a great stay!!! Pros: All of the rooms are oceanfront, with private balconies. Our suite was on the 14th floor, which gave us an excellent view of the ocean, beach, & boardwalk. Our suite was very spacious, and was very reminiscent of a tiny apartment.

The couch in the sitting area was so dirty that it needs to be replaced. I wouldn't dare sit on it. We used it as a holder for our suitcases. And I know that it's a beach hotel, and I can understand there may be some residual sand left on the floor from the previous guests, but what I couldn't understand was the hair on the floors, behind the bathroom door, and in the corners. It was so gross. Speaking of corners, every corner in the suite was full of dust and dirt. My husband and I were there for the weekend only, so we made it work. I would not have wanted to spend an entire week in that suite. The ONLY real saving grace was the oceanfront view.

Loved staying here! Great view from the balcony and staff was very friendly. Loved that we had a kitchen and was definitely worth getting the condo room. Air conditioner did leak on our balcony but I think it was from how hot it was while we were there. Will be looking forward to staying here again next time we vacation here.

The parking was somewhat of an issue. It appeared clean but i think the dirty stained carpet alluded physiologically that it appeared unclean. Bathrrom very clean. We had fresh bedding i just think maybe slight renovation would help in appearrance of cleanliness (carpet). First impressions set the stage. My granddaughter loved the kitchen and the pool. The microwave woth oven was awesome. Communication needs imprivement. Itcwas hard getting a hold of someone to answer question which made booking hard. Also unsure of the oven so pre coojed mist of our food.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Ocean Sands. The property is a little dated, but you cant beat the price and amenities. Loved that there was a masseuse in house, Jamie did an awesome job, but the resort should consider soundproofing the massage room or relocating it. Noise from the pool was a bit distracting when getting the massage. Everyone on staff was friendly and accommodating, and the on site restaurant was very good! We will definately stay here again!

This property was not clean and needs a major update. I’m grateful I had Clorox wipes with us. It also needs to have the carpet torn up. It was disgraceful. The only positive was the view! Oh and the alarms went off twice in the middle of the night to evacuate the hold building. We were told some sort of technical issue.

An improvement would be to install a third elevator in the tower. There were times we had to wait for the elevator longer than we should have, which could be improved with an additional elevator.
Also, it would be fabulous to have a door that allows guests to exit the back of the hotel without having to go through the restaurant. This would make access more convenient for everyone.

To begin with, when we got into the room there was a blood stain on the bed so they told us to grab the contaminated comforter and bring it downstairs so they could exchange it... obviously we did not do that.. so they had us change rooms. You have to exchange your own linen everyday- along with take your own trash out. Rooms smelled musty. Only good thing about this place is oceanfront and the pool. Waste of money for four days. Never again.

When we arrived, check-in went very smooth. We got to our room and could tell something wasn't right. They had just shampooed the rugs and there was water all over the floor. We could the desk and they quickly moved us to another room. The next room was very nice and clean. We had dinner at the on-site restaurant. It was very good. Normally we stay at hotels that have some sort of breakfast, this hotel does not. But we knew that. The pool and sauna were very nice. The hot tub while hot did not have the jets working. All in all, it was a very nice stay and would stay there again. It is a time share but we were never 'hassled' to purchase.
