We loved the ocean view from our 7th floor west room, very walkable commute to most places. The one down fall was our room had a musty smell to it, not sure if it was from the room being outdated or the ac unit, or both. friends of ours stayed on the 2nd floor east and their room was more modern and no smell.

Checkout on Expedia says 10 but when you get there it’s 9am although check in is still at 4pm the room was overall nice good location and gated no one without a parking pass or wristband allowed to enter parking is $30 for the weekend wristbands $6 each we stayed at apt.712 I let the owners know that if you just push the door hard it will come open it would not lock they said they would send someone out to fix it but never did each night had to sleep with a chair under the door handle to feel safe and hope no one stole our things when we left the room each day

Great spot love the view from our balcony and the gorgeous sunrises from our bedroom window. Despite all the Spring Breakers security and sfaff were on it. Elevators were super quick too. Definitely be back.

We enjoyed the location and the beach . The Room was same as 30 years ago with a little paint and some new curtains in living room Instead of the old blinds .. double bed with no bed spread when we arrived however after we asked them about it they brought us one . Was a good end of the summer stay !!

This resort is beautiful. Unfortunately the unit we rented was filthy and dark and dingy. We were at other units that were owned by different companies that were beautiful. I’d advise anyone to do more research and book with a private owner, rather than a company!

Everything was good except for the bathrooms wasn't clean. We clearly can see there was a old soap from previous guests in the shower, same with the toilet was mold around, , and my big issue. We found alot of cockroaches, they where walking everywhere, by the kitchen, inside of the dishwasher, by the tv room etc , everywhere😒😩. It was very disgusting.

The room was just very outdated. And so we a lot of things around the property. For what they’re charging for resort fees. They could do much better keeping up on the property. The elevators looked terrible. With plywood on the ceiling. Screws all the way screwed and halfway bent into the floor that I stubbed and cut my toe on.

Our Sunbird stay

1st the pitchures on site must been taken when 1st done because it needs maintenance and updating. Then wasn’t told under construction until after booked. Got there and No AC but did come and fix. 2nd day breaker kept kicking breaker off which did fix same day. 3rd day husband set up on bed and it broke but again they fixed it same day. Upon arrival gave us a free voucher for ice (which was nice) but machine was out of order. We realize they are doing some maintenance outside but the room needs some work done for sure.

The condo I rented is in severe need of updating.
The furniture appears old but functional and clean, but not nearly new and as pretty as in most places I have stayed. The Sunbird Resort is under construction so there is extra noise and mess. The elevators were very dirty., however, they were fast, and did the job.

Had 5 guest and after payment was made then told max is 4 couldn't get refund. We had to leave one person at home.Room was outdated and furniture/decor was nasty.Very overpriced for conditions,the beds were like rocks.Extra parking fee required when you arive and hard to find parking spot.The place was nothing like the pictures online.Rug was so nasty i wanted to trash it myself but i didn't or i would have been charged for helping them out by throwing there trash out for them. Iwill never stay at Sunbird again.All they can do is apologize but do nothing about the problems nor compinsate you in any way to make up for the conditions.Construction everywhere The whole vacation was a joke when paying close to two grand for 5 nights you would atleast get a comfortable bed and clean condo but no you get a hard bed and dusty dirty room they charge cleaning fees but i had to clean the room when we arrived. Kitchen was so compacted i had to move the refrigerator just to open the oven door.Save your money or find somewhere else to stay. Very disappointing

An hour before our check in they called to let us know that we could not stay due to construction. Offered another place and was going to charge extra we told them we are on our one year this is a major inconvenience we didn't have a lot of spending money they offered a refund and I told them we are an hour away and are driving over 7 hours and we should have been notified days before they ended up giving us another place for our stay for what we paid not what we wanted but at least it was somewhere to stay

Just ok for the price

I had to pay to park inside the gated lot even though I was issued a pass code to the gate ? A security guard told me the parking fee was “ about $40.00 “. Being that sounded shady I went to my room and visited the front desk two days later who charged me $45.00 for the same parking!!
I washed all 4 towels that was in my room. When I went to get them they were gone. I called the main office and told them. The told me they would have me more towels brought up to my room. I still haven’t seen those towels and that was three days ago.

Apart from that, I loved the view, and the family had a really good time. We could walk to pineapple Willys and really anywhere we wanted.

Weather was amazing, but I had to wait 24hrs before I had hot water in my condo… which resulted in me being moved to a different condo. The property is under reconstruction right now but all in all it’s a nice property for an older condo. The room is different than what is pictured when booking

The condo was nice but did need some updates. There were some tiles loose and the stove burner and microwave both had issues but overall it was a beautiful place. The cleanliness on the other hand was definitely lacking and should be looked into! I don’t know if the resort there was responsible or an outside company but we were extremely disappointed and there were no supplies in the condo for us to clean up before we used anything so we had to purchase items from our own pocket after paying a cleaning deposit! Extremely unhappy about this. We did stay over New Years and an owner/resident there at the Sunbird had a ton of fireworks that he sat off on the beach for hours on end which kept us from traveling to the piers for the county and city shows which made us extremely happy and very relaxed! Overall we had an amazing time after we got our room clean so that we could feel relaxed. We will stay again but look deeper into the cleaning details if possible!
We felt extremely safe on the gated property.The codes were changed daily and there was a guard on duty. Multiple pools but one closed for construction and several trails to the beach. Parking passes were required at an additional charge and all tenants were required to wear a bracelet like at an amusement park to clearly show that you belong on the property and all others could easily identify you! We loved that!

Pictures viewed during booking did not come close to what we were actually given. Dishes were not clean and we had to rewash them before we could use them. Ceiling fans and air vents were covered in a thick layer of dust. Didn't know when I booked that the pools were going to be closed and if we wanted to use a pool we would have to go over to the west building were the pool was extremely small and swim elbow to elbow with everyone else. But on the plus side Panama is still great been there many times and will keep going just probably not at this resort.

I was very disappointed in this place. The photos on expidea dont match the rooms. Ours had no curtins and the decor wasnt even finished. Theor was about an inch on dust build up on the ceiling fans. Dirt under the sofa. The sofa bed was like sleeping on bricks. Not a lot of extra pillows or proper sheets for it. Whom ever put the room together didnt mind and details of it. At checknin i didn't know inhad to go to a different resort to check in amd then when i went to then i was told i had to go to another place. The lady told me that my room.was expected to be done sometime between 4pm and 12 am! That its not a gurentee to be done before 12am. That was frustrating to hear after traveling all day and then paying for anday in the room that i may not be able to get into. There were no amenities. Construction every where. You can hear everything through the walls and floors. The communication was terrible. And tonhave to pay extra for parking and pool passes after what we paid to stay there is insane. I will NEVER stay here again.

From the word go this has been the worst experience ever and I travel a lot. Check in was brutal. The exterior of the building makes it look like you’re walking down a dark alley would not recommend if you were staying by yourself or family with kids. The moment we walked in we noticed a massive leak in the shower that was pouring out of the faucet about a gallon an hour after calling several times to the management they still did nothing. the very next day still nothing until we had to call again and ask for more towels to help soak up The water that was coming out of the tub. It took them five days to get to us to get it fixed. so for five days we had to listen to constant water flowing which make it very difficult to sleep or even enjoy ourselves. To top it off we had asked the front desk about guest and they said it was not a problem and then we were harassed by security the entire time they were their. Someone kept banging on our door like they were trying to get in our unit and did that three times freaking the kids out it was awful I wish this site would ban them from anybody being able to book with them it was the worst experience and ruined our vacation.

The photos provided on the this site during reservation are by no means what you should expect from your stay at this resort. The property location is great being walking distance to restaurants and store. The room was complete garbage and not as advertised, it was a complete bait and switch. Apparently this was the case with all the rooms at this resort, because that is all we heard about from the other guests. Do Not waste your money on this resort if you are expecting what you see in any of the photos provided, expect \"Baits Motel\". The parking is also NOT included.

Location and view were amazing. The state of the unit was terrible: It was mid renovation and not ready to be rented, it was filthy, there was a blanket of dust on the fans, the pull out couch was dirty, and the balcony chairs were rusted and unsafe. One of the room armoires had a nasty vinegar smell and there was a general humid stench in the entire unit. The walls were bare as all decoration had been removed and tucked aside in the living room. For vein our first bad experience with Expedia, it was our WORST experience.

The management company falsely advertised the property in March when I booked our stay. There are absolutely NO amenities at this facility. The property is under renovation, site is dirty, filled with Walmart grocery carts, trash, debris and all three pools have been closed for years. A complete rip off!!! Had the facility advertised truthfully I never would have chosen this property. Highly disappointing!

Very dissatisfied. They were doing remodeling of the building, pools were closed, mud and dirt on the sidewalks, poped a tire with a nail when we got there, couldn’t stay in a condo the first night because lock was broken, they provided us with one night stay at the next door condo and charged for cleaning when it was their fault that our room wasn’t ready. Had only 3 pillows when there was 4 of us, the chair in the living room was so old that we had to cover it before sitting in it because leather pieces would stick to the clothing and body. Will not recommend this property to others.

Two more days.....

I will start out saying that we booked the two nights on a last minute decision. We came in on a Saturday and was supposed to leave on a Wednesday. We decided to stay two more days. The check in process was horrible. We were told check in was at 4:00 and not sooner so we spent our day at the water park. We got to the condo at 5:00 and the security guy is about as clueless about things as the wall I’m looking at. We ended up leaving and calling to figure out what to do. Once we FINALLY got to check in, we were charged an additional $169 to stay. This was NOT listed on VRBO and the person checking in ahead of me had the same problem. We got to the condo and it is under EXTREME renovations. We had no pool and apparently some of the balcony’s are closed. Again we weren’t aware of this. The beach access is either by Pineapple Wiilys or you have to use the public beach access. The condo that we received was not the one that was pictured. We enjoyed our last two days but the information shown online was not what we received. Once the renovations are completed it will probably be a really nice place. I just wouldn’t stay there if you are expecting to be able to swim.

I understand the property was under construction during our stay but there was little to no barrier between the construction site and areas not under construction. The room itself had stains all over the furniture, no plug for the bathtub, the sink continuously didn’t drain in the bathroom, the sink in the kitchen had a horrible smell coming from it. Just overall not a good experience.

There was construction happening constantly. Banging began at 6 in the morning. Elevators were down. No pool access. No beach access. There were hidden fees that were not enclosed when booking. We were only allowed one parking pass because “they were just too busy to give two passes.” No help in finding elsewhere to park. The office staff were never there or “at lunch.” We never saw any staff members to help us. There were no directions or labeling to help locate our room. Very bad experience at the Sunbird.

The listing did not say the property was under renovations. Is was not until after I booked this that I got an e-mail stating that fact. The e-mail also stated at least one pool would be open. None of the pools were open when we got there. The listing said free parking. I had to pay $33 for a parking pass and armbands. The armbands did nothing since the pools and fitness center were closed. The condo we got also has some stained furniture. A chair in the living room had the vinyl flaking off.

Balcony had note taped to door from may. 2020(a year ago) that balcony is closed due to rails being fixed.
They tend to get towers confused with maintenance calls-of the four days we were there, 3 times maintenance knocked-once waking us up, once walking in cuz we couldn’t get to door in time.
No peep holes so not feel safe opening door to stranger out of town -no way to see ID unless opening door
Hair dryer didn’t work
Very tight kitchen -usable but tight.
Will not be back.

The property is under repair from hurricane last year. Some elevators work some dont. Parking lot was busy with construction vehicles and materials stores there. Condo its self was clean and updated. They air conditioning was locked at

The unit was beachfront with beautiful views. The unit was large, tastefully decorated and fully stocked. The unit itself was not very clean (ring marks on the table, dirty floors). There was major construction going on in the building so the pools were closed and no internet in the unit or on the grounds.

When we checked in we were in a first level room that had a boarded up window and a view of construction. We talked with the front desk and they moved us to a wonderful room on the 9th floor. It was great! My only complaint is them starting construction at 6am. They should wait until around 9am (business hours, as listed when booking.)

This was our first time staying at Sunbird. I really liked that the parking lot is gated and requires a code to enter as well as the pool area and beach access. I felt this cut down on the potential for thieves or vandals getting in and causing havoc. Our unit was very clean and updated. The bed was comfortable. Despite ongoing repairs from last years Hurricane Michael, we had no problem accessing a pool or the beach. Each unit is arranged so you have some sort of view of the beach. We were in unit 101 in West Tower. My only complaint is the pedestrian gates in the parking lot were pad locked so we were unable to walk next door to Pineapple Willy's for dinner unless we walked the beach. Not sure if this is a temporary thing or not but it doesn't make sense to padlock a gate that requires code access to open it. Overall we had a pleasant experience and I would definitely stay here again. We booked through Resort Collection.

The room appeared very clean and pleasing to the eye. I liked how they remodeled comparing to the room my husband stayed while he was working there. That was practically the only thing I like. What I didn't like as I was checking in is that I was forced to pay $200 for a cleaning fee, register fee, and damage waiver. I knew before booking that they wrote in tiny letters that there were going to be extra charges but I was hoping it would be optional and not pay. But they refused to give me the room keys unless I paid. I think that was really ridiculous and I was only spending one night there and I didn't even use any of the amenities. I ended up paying a total of $400 for a night stay at that hotel. I will tell everyone I know that I absolutely would not recommend booking at resort collection because they are leeches and their employees cannot explain things in plain English.

We were not told ahead of time that the property was still under construction from last years hurricane. Only one of three pools was open for use. My wife was hit by a small piece of stucco that fell from up above. Simple things like the replacement of rotten floor boards on the pool and beach deck had not been fixed. I understand that places are still rebuilding from the storm last year but the construction was a total inconvenience and was not relayed to us before we booked the room.

Clean place on the beach, needs some maintenance and instructions

Loved the location, and the view was amazing (once we could get the blinds opened). The blinds would just fall down when we pulled the string to open and some blinds we missing. We had no maintenance number or contact person. They said they don’t communicate via the HomeAway app.
Check in instructions said the office was open til 5, but when we arrived at 4:45 it was closed. We had to go to a different complex to check in. We were given no check out instructions but told if we didn’t return our resort wrist bands we’d be charged. We dropped them in the check out box at our location and hope to not see any fees. But again, no instructions on linens or trash.
Overall we had a lovely time, but think it could be much nicer with just a little more communication.

We had a nightmare getting into our actual room and once we were settled the 4th night there a man walked right into our room while my daughter and her friend were getting changed to go to the beach I ran into the living area and yelled for him to get out! I was also changing... it was horrible and being that these girls were 13 they still can’t sleep at night without thinking someone is going to walk into the house. I seriously think my daughter is suffering from PTSD from this experience. The man claimed he was working on the locks but after consulting with the rental office they said no order was made for that service. Clearly someone had a master key and it was unfortunate for my daughter and her friend I don’t know if they will ever get that out of their heads. We packed up and left two days early because no one felt safe any longer and I have requested a full refund for the trauma that we all experienced.

Amazing view

We arrived only to be sent to another location to access the property. Property was very nice and decently kept up. Our condo was exactly as I had expected, very nice and the view was amazing. My only issue was upon entering the property my partner slipped on a rug fell onto his suitcase and broke ribs.

Not what I thought I was renting!

I rented this unit through the VRBO mobile app and it never said this was a “limited view” condo. Also it never stated there would be additional fees upon checking. Unit was outdated but it was ok for our weekend stay. Just nothing like the pictures that helped me make the decision to book this unit! Beware if your not booking thru an owner. This was on VRBO but actually Expedia had the listing

Charged an extra cleaning fee and service when we checked in. For the cleaning fee to be so much well they don’t necessarily clean. Bed sheets were stained red and brown also yellow spots looked like piss stains to me. Called the desk was told more sheets would be brought a cleaning crew never came during a 3 day stay. Terrible service wise and condition the staff was halfway friendly. Wouldn’t recommend but I could’ve just had a bad experience who knows. Personally I’ll pay a little extra to stay somewhere nicer next time

Are there any maids in this resort?

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was much better than I was expecting but the air took a coupleNJof days to work. The first 3 nights we were there we burned up, had to go buy a fan. I loved that it was gated in, loved the 3 pools, and that it was right on the beach. I got a gulf view room, and the view was incredible. My biggest complaint was the staff. I was charged extra 189 dollar free, 85 of which was for a cleaning service. A maid never once cleaned our room. Never got anymore towels then the 4 that was there when we got there, and we were there for a week. A maid did try to stop by Wednesday into our stay, but I was in the shower, my boyfriend was getting dressed so we had the chain on the door. She pushed the door so hard she ripped the chain off. My boyfriend asked her to come back in about 15 minutes to clean since we weren't dressed for company so to speak...no one ever came. I was going to complain to the checkout lady but no one was there to check us out, there was only a drop off checkout box for our key cards. Overall I enjoyed the area but I ultimately ended up paying for a maid service that never got used...I call that a RIP off.

Just okay at best

The lady at the front desk who checked us in was very nice, the lady at the HOA office was not. We stayed in 611E. There was a dead cockroach on the stove top when we arrived. Both the blinds on the patio door & the blinds on the bedroom window were in bad shape & one would fall off any time you opened them. There was sand in our bed before we had ever even gotten into it. All of the bedroom furniture had dust on it. The bathroom however was updated & very nice. The main pool in the center of the two towers was uncomfortably ice cold. We never tried the other two on each side of the towers so not sure about those. The price was not bad but for the same price, you can stay somewhere better. The location of the sunbird is great & I like that all of the gates have coded access.

First, the room we booked was NOT the room we were given. The room we were given had these issues:
1. Shower flooded every time we used it and flooded in to the kitchen.
2. Broken plastic chairs on the balcony.
3. No wifi.
4. Terrible mattress, very lumpy and uncomfortable.
5. We were NOT told beach chairs and umbrella were NOT complimentary and were charged $40.00 per day to use them.
Our experience was not comparable to the amount of money we paid.
Very unhappy and will not recommend this resort to anyone.

Very clean, we didn't run into any problems during our stay.

Great ocean view, very nice room. We had an AWESOME time. This was our 2 year anniversary trip. We enjoyed the trip to shell island with captain Anderson. Would like to go and stay there all day our next trip. Pineapple willys was yummy!!! There is a gate that connects to the condo so you can just walk there and not have to look for parking. Good prices too. The Wharf seafood buffet was delicious!!!! It's 39.99/adult 12 and over but we splurged for our anniversary. Very friendly workers too. We will come back to visit here for sure!!!! Thank you

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT this hotel does not match the pictures at all. I got a room that was not what I wanted and/or paid for. my room was not very clean not furnished the way it was said to and was on the first floor with absolutely no privacy. luckily the staff was great and upgraded us to a VIP room. Expedia was no help when trying to get some of my money back. 100 coupon to use on this website I will not trust again.

We loved how close the property was to the beach and to local restaurants. There were beach chairs set up, but apparently you had to pay $40 to sit in them, with no signage, so that was kind of a bummer. And the tv in the bedroom didn’t work, but overall we had a great stay and wished it was longer.

When we arrived to the condo that I booked the door would not unlock.so after spending a hour waiting on some one to show up to fix it they finally showed up and couldn’t fix it and moved us to a different room that was smaller.not happy at all

Not happy.

The room we had was in need of upgrade. The pull out couch had old food crumbs inside when you pulled it out. The cover was not clean. The bathroom door \"stuck\" when trying to open it. The refrigerator was to large for the kitchen. The bed cover was dirty in appearance. If I could afford a change I would have taken my grandchildren and searched for another location. I just felt dirty the entire time I was there. Couldn't get wifi to work.
