The resort is very tired and has been neglected re any upkeep. Our room had not been vacuumed for some time. Walking through grit and having to brush our feet before hopping into bed. It’s like it’s on another planet. There was no one there. There was no background music in the empty bar until we asked. The bar snacks were good. We didn’t have faith eating in the restaurant as there were only 2 people in it and it’s a big restaurant. We went next door to find the whole Marina Mirage complex closed and boarded up. Piles of rubbish everywhere. The next lot of surrounding restaurants and bars were all gone. It’s like the end of the world at the spit area at present. Compared to our last stay when it was Versace it’s a complete turnaround.

The toilet and bathroom. Has long black hair on it. Right near the spa there was a white jelly bean.
The pillows were absolutely awful. Soft as anything. You had to fold them up to sleep. And the ln the beds were only doubles

Everything was extremely overpriced. I ordered room service. It cost $25 for a ln extremely small bottle of Diet Coke and 2 pieces of cold toast with not enough butter to spread on even one slice.
Save your money and go somewhere else. There are nicer hotels on the Gold Coast!

Pool bar closed too early and not enough variety in food options. Having some music in the background would also add to the daily holiday vibe. Lobby bar closed too early so no opportunity to spend time with with other visitors after dinner. No water provided in the rooms , only paid bottles which were disappointing.
Otherwise, we loved our room and the pool area!

This is not a 5 star hotel. We stayed for 5 nights over the new years period. It’s very run down eg ripped lounges, stained carpet, leaking/mouldy roof, peeling paint, only 1 lift working, a lot of the light globes were out in the chandelier, shower floods into the bathroom & no floor drain. Most of the staff are disinterested.

While it has a big pool, the facilities are poor, only 3 umbrellas in the 18+ zone, half the lounges are missing the padding so you are laying on hot black plastic, they ran out of pool towels, there’s broken equipment pilled up in the corners.

I also had suspected food poisoning during my stay & needed to see a dr, who mentioned I should let the hotel know as I’d only eaten hotel food in the 24hrs before being sick. When I mentioned it to the reception on checking out the staff member didn’t ask any questions or show any concern, I doubt she reported it.

Absolutely terrible!! Sad really that this place was once a proper 5 star resort.

The staff were not friendly, the food was terrible, the place was dirty, our rooms got cleaned daily, to find on our return that the tables were not wiped down, nothing vacuumed every towels were not replaced (yes even the towels we left on the floor to replace)

The hallway carpets are stained, ceiling wall
lights corroded all due to water damage. It’s clear the upkeep of this place is not a priority!

What topped it off was the fact there was a sewer burst in the basement with peoples sh*t and toilet paper everywhere!
The staff decided to close the entrance to get into that space and only had 1 staff with a hose washing it all away! The smell was dreadful, and once we returned a few days later we found toilet paper sprayed all over the walls and sh*it stained all over the concrete…

I could go on and on and on…. Just save your money and go elsewhere!!!

All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and with plenty of spots. Room was lovely and quiet with a great marina view. Only downside (for a while) is that the neighbouring Marina Mirage is being demolished - so not many eating spots left unfortunately.

The staff were exceptional. However the hotel its self is very aged. It really needs a lot of work. Mold on ceilings and holes in the furniture.
The pool was great but still the sand area needs some work too. For the price of the hotel per night i definitely expected more.

Upon arrival we walked to reception from the underground carpark, through the corridors someone had smeared their blood on the wall. Walking to our room the carpets looked like they had not been vacuumed for 6+ months, there were covered with clumps or wool, sand, stains, rubbish and debris. In our room there was a used dirty band aid on the floor next to the bed, the fridge was warm and not working probably. We mentioned the bandaid and fridge to reception, the young male staff member whose name started with an A was apologetic, but to be honest he didn’t seem surprised. Engineering was sent to our room to fix the fridge thankfully.
The pool had a very limited food and beverage menu yet still charges \"Versace\" prices. The only thing that saved our stay was the buffet breakfast, the food was delicious however we found it rude after paying 5* rates for the 1 nights accommodation, to be charged extra if we wanted an omelette, salmon or a second barista coffee.
The hotel is sooooo far from 5*luxury it’s not even funny! The prices they charge for the extremally run-down amenities, poor upkeep and deteriorating presentation of the property is appalling! I travelled internationally for over 14 years with my job and honestly, I have never seen such horrendous conditions, even in 3* accommodation.
The general vibe and reception we received from staff is that no one cares! It’s like the staff and management know the hotel will either be sold again or knocked down so why bother or try.

Our room had a very bad water damaged cabinet which is central in the room which was a bit ordinary and detracted a lot from what should be a high end quality hotel, seeing this old water damage and the age of the some of the furniture in room made us feel somewhat disappointed.
There was nothing is the room from snacks to drinks etc and on arrival they take a $300 deposit I’m not sure what for? Staying at the QT would be a much more enjoyable stay.
The actual hotel, lobby, reception and pool area is absolutely beautiful on arrival 2 beautiful Rolls Royces parked out side and all your thoughts are wow until we got to the room. The photos online are definitely much nicer and seeing the property I’m sure they have some great rooms maybe because we booked through Expedia and got a discounted rate we got a room that matched the rate.

Loved our stay. Room service was hit and miss. My fiancé loved his wagyu pappardelle however my chicken was so overcooked it was inedible.
The big spa bath was a great feature.
Pillows aren’t actually pillows… they’re blankets folded up and put into pillow cases. Wasn’t the best for my neck. Overall though, we loved our stay and will be staying there again!

While the lobby and the rooms were kept in good shape - the pool area was in a bit of disrepair. It was very quiet and the pool area bar was not open or serving - but orders could be made to you seat via QR code. Staff were great but the location is a little bit away from the main areas. Still a manageable 1.5-2KM walk - but that is a bit after dinner.

It’s a real shame. I used to love staying here when it was the Versace, but this was my first visit since the change of ownership, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to its legacy. The rooms have noticeably deteriorated, and the hotel overall feels tired and poorly maintained, as if it’s simply being left to age without care. It now feels like a 3-star experience, but the price tag doesn’t reflect that drop in quality. The one highlight was the staff. Every team member I encountered was genuinely warm, friendly and professional. They were the saving grace of an otherwise disappointing stay.

The hotel is now dating. Needs some tlc. Still a very nice place to stay. Breakfast could have been more for the price. Or it should cost less per person.

The old fabrics are now very well worn in the lobby time to let got of the past and bring in the emperors new clothes.

One of the worst hotels to visit , very unprofessional receptionist, rooms are given different to prices and rooms you book for , food cannot be eaten my partner had food poisoning after we ate next to the pool he had oysters that were super old and a terrible steak , mouldy fruits !! Its pretty disappointing!!! Nothing was good we had a terrible easter vacation wasted so much money and we will never return again.

We were able to check in early which was great, however we had booked a superior king and at check in was told it was a standard king. When I questioned this, they said a standard was a superior which sounds shady to me. Breakfast was awful.. we had to line up for over 20 mins just to be seated and never did get the coffees we ordered.

We had a lovely time celebrating my husband’s 40th and were grateful for a free upgrade and small gift - a nice gesture that made the experience feel more special. Though the hotel overall is very tired and really needs a facelift. It doesn’t feel like a 5 star. Paintwork was chipped and stained, the pool area didn’t have enough umbrellas or lounge cushions, pool towels were stained, water glasses were old and faded, and they didn’t have enough seats or even space at the pool bar. The room was nice but tired again. They only gave us two towels so I had no separate towel for my hair. At a 5 star hotel, you expect these small things to be noticed and taken care of. The buffet was good, but not hugely impressive. No eggs to order for example. Though I did appreciate the barista coffee.

It's nice but wouldn't do it again.

Booked the lagoon suite for 2 adults 2 kids with King bed and fold out lounge. Had to call to get 2nd bed made for kids at 8p.m. only enough pillows and towels for 2 not 4 people. House keeping was very slack and 2nd day didnt even refresh the room at all. Room was 2700 down to 2k for 3 nights but for that money you deserve better service. Restaurant and bar service by the pool were great.

Arriving at the Imperial Hotel is wonderful, coming up to the driveway and being immediately welcomed by the doorman, then entering the reception, which was beautiful with festive decorations. There are great facilities; good pool areas, a gym, dining etc. Our rooms were very comfortable with plenty of amenities. There are only a couple of things I noted, that the hotel could really do with a facelift as it is looking a bit tired, particularly the rooms and hallways. The staff were very slow to clear room service trays - there was one at a nearby room to us that lay all day and into the evening and the maids had been to clean rooms (obviously not their jobs to clear the trays but they perhaps could have communicated to the relevant team!) Nonetheless, we did have a comfortable and enjoyable stay here.

Nice location . Beds comfortable and nice clean bedding. Had outdoor area to sunbathe. Convenient adjoining rooms. Breakfast nice. , especially tiling in bathroom.
Check in was a pain . As if forgot my passport, left at daughter’s house on Sunshine Coast, it was so much hassle. Surely as accommodation was already paid for and I had that credit card to prove it and printed receipt, it should have been enough. I am from England so don’t have ID cards .
Taps in bathroom sink leaking water at base when turned on, had to wrap small towel around them Towels could be a bit larger. Rooms need updating
