As soon as we pulled in we knew we couldn’t stay there. Curtains falling off of the windows, side walk was crumbling, the entire building was in shambles. It was rusty and there were cracks, paint was old. I should have known when it was the only hotel with an opening. I’m shocked they’re allowed to be open. They denied a refund to cancel.

I have had a few days to think about this review and my stay at Days Inn. I have searched inside of me for something positive to say overall about that hotel. The only thing I can say positively about that place is overall the staff was pretty good. I think they know that the property needs a lot of work and a lot of updating. The rooms are poorly kept and dirty and need a lot of Maintenance work done. The door to the room had a lot of gapping in it and was allowing cold air in constantly which was throwing off the heater in the room and kept it running constantly. We could never get the room just right it was either extremely cold or it was extremely hot. The door to the bathroom was broken not only on the latch but the door hinges which allowed little to no privacy. Yes you get a free breakfast but you're only options are waffles, toast and stale cereal. We were lucky enough that they set milk out and had a coffee machine. Everything else cost money. It looked like they tried to update the lobby area but whoever did it did a extremely poor job. The overall Grounds was extremely dirty with garbage everywhere. Upon entering the room I did notice a mouse Scurry across the room and then behind the bed closest to the door. The bedding had stains on them. Many of the plugins did not work. The refrigerator in the room had little adjustment and I believe it was stuck on high. Upon looking at the heater/ac unit it was extremely filthy. Recieved no towels on second day of stay.

Breakfast was very pour and cheap. The lobby had a stopped up drain. You were not able to wash your hands nor were you able to take your breakfast back to your room.
The door on the first day stay would not keep the cold air out. Leaked badly.
Got a different room the second day but the deadbolt would not latch. Door itself would latch and the only safety feature was the flip stop on the door jam.
The rooms were much smaller than on their advertisement.

There was no one at the front desk to checkout early in the morning. We waited around for about 20 min and called several times and still no one showed. We ended up leaving the keys at the desk and left and I called back several times over the next 3 hours before someone finally answered so I could tell them we needed to check out and no one was there. There should be an employee working overnight for check in and check out and in case people staying need anything.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! My door didn't lock from the outside, exterior door. Deadbolt did not work. The whole hotel wreaked of marijuana and pretty sure one guest was selling drugs from their room. Trash everywhere outside. Dirty, run down room with very little lighting. Staff was dirty and not friendly. Vent in bathroom went directly to adjacent rooms bathroom where guest locked puppies or dogs and they cried for hours. No one did anything about it. Awful place and Expedia should not partner with them and remove them from their site. Prefered Expedia member with many hotel stays. Only bad review i have ever made, because this place is so terrible.

The room was clean, but the shower curtain rod was broken. The chemicals used to clean the place were over-powering and triggered an allergy attack. There were two people in the lobby who appeared to have slept there overnight, as they hadn't moved from check-in to check-out and were wrapped up in blankets or rude to my husband. While checking in, the staff was pre-occupied with talking to others, which was rude. The elevator had food and debris strewn throughout it. We booked two nights, but only stayed one due to the smell, noise, and general atmosphere (people running around in the hallway, garbage in the hallway, people in the lobby being rude). Disappointing.

Hall, elevator, and tub were dirty. Didn’t want to use the shower. The carpet was old. Worst of all, someone was smoking Marijuana in their room, so the hallway stank. The smell got into our room, so we had to place towels under the door to block out the smell. It eventually got so bad that the fire alarm went off.

Very decent hotel for cheap with little to no issues on the most part. The room I was in had issues with some tiny flies coming up from the sink drain. They didn't seem like typical drain flies. Hallway area isn't air conditioned and police sometimes patrol the parking lot. Thankfully no signs of roaches or bed bugs.

Given the wrong room and key cards, walked in on somebody, room we did get was filthy, lobby bathroom toilet was clogged so I couldn't even use the restroom when we arrived and were placed in the wrong room, door to our room was literally falling off the hinges and difficult to open and close, heater barely worked and smelled terribly when fan was running and one crappy blanket. Slept in my clothes and basically brushed my teeth and left the next morning. Hair and dirt in the sink and mirror was filthy with toothpaste spit and splatter so I didn't even want to attempt a shower. Completely disgusting, stay somewhere else!

The hallways were not air-conditioned and side doors opened. At least cars were bring repaired in the lot and an old rv as backed into a hillside. It would seem that the hotel may be getting a facelift. Looks like workers and staff live there. An old dusty tv leaned up aganst the wall near my room. After a 9 hr drive, I just wanted to rest and have something cold. My room was on the third floor, dark, and the AC was off and curtains open facing the south - it was Iowa in August so 95 degrees. The AC unit had messed up buttons, but started to cool - it took 3 hrs. Looked for ice, but that was on the first floor. No clock in the room either. Breakfast was a bust - just sugary cereal, white bread, and make a waffle. No juice, fruit, yogurt...very very sad.

Literally just absolutely disgusting. Smelled like mildew, no clue what was in the ice bucket, shower and bathtub so dirty I had to shower at a trucker stop because I honestly thought I would catch a disease had I showered in the hotels shower, (I’ve never seen such dirty grout). The carpet was oddly moist and damp? Bathroom floor was oily and slippery. Bed seemed clean enough but I slept on my own blanket from home because I had no other choice, staff was fine, didn’t interact much. I don’t recommend staying here. Was in Iowa for a music festival and coming back to a dirty room with a probably dirty bed was NOT fun.

Ascetics pool and hot tub. They do not have either. My bed frame was exposed because the Matress could not line up, causing me to continually hit the metal frame with my knee. Garage all around the building. Hotels.com is doing a dis service to its patrons by advertising this hotel.

My husband is in a wheel chair. We booked a handicapped room. We are on the THIRD floor!! How do I get him out of the hotel on the event of an emergency !!!,?? The bathroom has ONE teeny tiny grab bar by the toilet. There are broken doors throughout the hotel. I booked this hotel because it is next to a medical facility. I assumed wrongly that they would be more handicapped accessible because of that. This place is a JOKE

Building showed age badly and needed some expensive upgrading. No in room coffee brewer and had to ask for fresh towels for our second night stay. We get there and there are 3 police cars there. At the check in another patron was complaining about a $100 extra charge on their account! I had the same thing happen! They told me $50 for incidentals, and that they would credit me, THEY DIDN'T, NO TOLIET PAPER, Black hairs on the sheets, (I am blonde), clearly not cleaned, not light bulbs in the lamps by the bed, or the room lights, cob webs in the corner, coffee was HORRIBLE, ALOT of people \"living there\" VERY VERY SHADY PLACE! Before I decided to make a reservation for this hotel, I looked at their pictures, of course, which showed a very distorted idea of reality. In the pictures the room, the bathroom, and they exterior looked all very clean, well kept up, etc., but the sad reality was completely different. Now, the room itself was clean enough as well as the bathroom furniture, but the bathroom floor did leave a lot to be desired. In actuality though, this hotel looks extremely run down and very, very poorly mantained. The walkways that lead to the rooms are falling apart, the elevator feels faulty, there's litter all around outside the rooms, many of the room doors are all beat up, etc. It looks (and feels) very spooky to tell you the truth. On the plus side, this hotel is very conveniently located: the area is quiet and safe, and so close to I-35 (and a McDonald's only two blocks away). Bottom line, I don't think this hotel is worth what they ask for per night at all. If you can find something else comparable (or even for a few extra bucks) go for it, but definitely you want to stay away from this... place.

The location for us was good, the room was clean, and what I expected, outside the room was already little dirty and not kept up well. Lots of cigarette butts on the back steps and other flooring in the hallways was not kept up as well as it could’ve been. Price was good! Would have liked a little more variety of food at breakfast and maybe some other options for drinks at breakfast as well.

Pulled up to the hotel with my two children and the place looked of a questionable standard. Trash on the property, people sitting on the sidewalks and lawns with hotel doors wide open, smoking, raunchy music. The photos on the website were not the hotel we showed up to. I went into the lobby, it was dirty, paint/wallpaper peeling off the walls... I spoke with the young lady at the desk (who was very polite, but didn't seem too knowledgeable of what she was doing), we were in the correct location. I cancelled on site, I couldn't have been paid to stay there with my children - luckily I was not charged for a last minute cancellation and was able to find another hotel nearby that was clean and inviting. I will definitely be double checking websites and cross comparing before ever renting through a third party site again.

Our room was not what I expected. The light just inside the door was flickering and I had to turn it of m. Had to rely on the bedside lights. The phone in the room was not working. The cord to the handset was broken, unable to make calls. The tub in the bathroom was very slippery and we had to place a towel on the floor of the tub to keep from slipping. Even though we stayed overnight the towels were not replaced. We decided that we were not going to stay another night because of these conditions. We checked out and came home.

SEWAGE WATER IN TUB!!!

The first night I got in late 10:30pm and the bathtub drain had backed up and dry sewage was in the tub so not able to take a shower. In the morning there was 1” of backed up sewage water in tub and I told the front desk about it and asked to have it fixed so I couldn’t take a shower when I returned that night. I got back about 9:30 pm the second night and there was dried up sewage again in tub so no shower. In the morning there was 2” of sewage water in tub. I told the front desk about not being able to take a shower, showed the pictures and that I had asked to have it fixed the day before and it wasn’t fixed. I asked for a partial refund seeing that I slept in the room. He said he couldn’t because I booked through Expedia, which I didn’t, I booked through hotels.com, and he didn’t have a card on file to put a refund on. Although he did have a card on file for the $50 they hold when you check in. He said I had to go through Expedia to get a refund. I guess I’ll contact Hotels.com and see what becomes of it.
I might contact the local Health Department on Monday and let them know of unsanitary conditions.
I wouldn’t recommend this place.

It looked bad in the daylight so my husband wanted to not even go in and just forfeit our $. I said let's at least go in. We BOTH had to push to open the room door. The floor was slanted different directions so we staggered about- no alcohol involved. RAISED tthreshhold to bathroom had flooring strips over it; deceiving the user. Noisy in halls as arrived. The cheap price kept us there. TV controls had no directions; had to have maintenance come twice to help
Bed was very comfy. Slept great, not noisy at night. Breakfast - no fruit, eggs or yogurt. 2nd morning there was yogurt... I had inquired about it the day before. Elevator was scary. Won't stay again.

While it was peaceful and quiet, with them abidding to their policy of being mindful of noise after 11, and the room being quiet comfortable, the cleanliness outside was a whole different matter. First day there on the hallway leading to my room there were countless trashbags outside one of the rooms making it unpleasant to pass. Add to that one of the hose came to the breakfast with no shoes on despite the sign saying it was required. And to add to that, the mice that kept roaming outside, both on the first and second floor. But inside the room, the cleanliness was maintained. That said their microwave kept making such an awful noise when used. That and the air conditioner lid was loose, while the cover for the controls was broken

Staff cut off our room key access before we checked out, so we had to get a re-energized key to reclaim our luggage. Elevator worked poorly, but never completely quit. We were treated as second class citizens because I had booked the room via Expedia, rather than thru Days Inn. I do not recommend that anyone stay there, ever.

They advertised that they had an outdoor pool, they did not. Breakfast was not placed out until 630 in the morning. When we got into the room the Wi-Fi did not work, there was visible damage to the room which we had to pay a $50 incidental fee upon getting to the hotel for any damages. Make sure you take pictures of your room as to not get charged.
